I've just recently moved to broward county and hadn't yet established a vet. My girl woke up with a pretty nasty rash on her back and belly. They were able to get my pup in immediately and take care of her. For $340 we were seen immediately, given an anti inflammatory shot, antibiotic shot, script for prednisone and an antibiotic, medicated shampoo, 3 month supply of flea and tick, as well as 6 months of heart worm medication. Back in November of 2016 I was looking for a new veterinarian, and found a Groupon for Jacaranda Animal Hospital. The introductory offer for my dog's yearly was awesome, but Tiffany and the staff keep me coming back. I wouldn't consider going any place else. My dogs love everyone there! They really got to know me and my 2 dogs and have an awesome personal touch! My dogs go every month for a bath and nail trim, which is great to have everything done in one place. Recently one of my dogs became sick, but I have confidence in the doctors and staff. They really go out of their way to keep me informed, and are considerate of my many questions and concerns. I took my chihuahua and my mom brought her dachshund in for the first time on Wednesday for an annual physical examination. Dr Frandsen was friendly, polite, and very patient with our family. I felt comfortable with his bedside manner and it’s obvious from his warmth with the animals that he’s genuinely a kind individual. Had a great experience! Everyone was professional, helpful, kind, and understanding. They gave a detailed explanation of everything they were doing and all recommendations for treatment without making me feel pressured. My pet is older so she peed on the floor during the visit and due to an allergic reaction she had to a vaccine, she also threw up on the floor... Where do I begin? I have an 80 lb German Shepherd that is petrified of the vet. When I walked in to Jacaranda Animal Hospital, I was greeted by two friendly women at the front desk. I immediately explained my dog's fear and need for a muzzle. I asked that we wait until necessary for the muzzle, since I was hoping for a good experience (but prepared for the worst). Instead of dragging my dog out of the room and holding him down for shots, fecal, blood work, etc., they ask...ed me if I thought it would be better if they did everything in the room, since my dog was clearly petrified. I knew it would be best, but no other vet ever gave me that option! The staff was simply amazing! Every person we came into contact with clearly loves animals and cared about my dog's individual needs and experience (three people total, this office gives you a family feel vs. an over-crowded clinic). The staff and vet, Dr. Mendy, took into consideration what I said went wrong at prior visits (which were not for yearly shots) and made sure to make this experience different for my dog. They did everything right because they care and it is evident! Dr. Mendy took the time to comfort my dog before shots, and allow my dog time to adjust (i.e., try to fit onto my lap) before simple things like listening to his heart and looking in his ears. Dr. Mendy knelt down on the floor with my dog to comfort him when I put the muzzle on him and he started to panic. Dr. Mendy was amazing with my dog, who actually took a treat after the exam, yearly shots, and blood draw! Dr. Mendy took time to advise me about breed specific issues, allergies, ear infections, and signs that should cause concern. I can honestly say Dr. Mendy and his staff go above and beyond to make sure that you and your pet have a great experience. I am truly amazed at the time he took with my dog, and I can say that I will be taking both of my dogs to Jacaranda Animal Hospital from now on! Just visited this place and unfortunately I have to be honest. As similar reviews stated, the staff was kind and friendly with my pets, however, I ended up leaving feeling VERY misled and angry about what they offered and cost. It is clear they are paid by a particular RX brand and it is their agenda to push it. I ended up giving the flea/worm medications a shot for convenience, but my advice, try somewhere else that is TRULY concerned with making sure your pet is healthy and that you are informed on what they really do and do not need. I will be researching brands shortly. Ended up feeling like everything was a set-up to attempt to push their particular Rx brand which I'm sure funds them well. There are similar groupons for about the same elsewhere. I used Scarborough for last year's check up and they were wonderful. PET SUPERMARKET also offers cheaper community clinics every couple of weeks. Read Less

So I've been bringing these crazy dogs (a pitty and a frenchie) to see Dr. Mendy and Tiffany since they we're puppies, and I would never go anywhere else again! There have been times I had to take them elsewhere, but it's always been a bad experience. I know that here, they are loved and always cared for with a gentle and loving touch. I see that they treat every animal like that. Oh yeah, they treat the people really well too!! Every aliment, Dr. Mendy and team have been able to successfully treat due to an educated diagnoses and well thought out treatment. And the best part... THEY AREN'T pushers!! I love Dr Mendy.My cats have been going here for over 20 years and they are great.... yes, the vet and cats.If you are looking for one of those "designer-mega" offices, stay away.  This is a very welcoming, smaller office with one doc and an efficient staff (led by Tiffany) who will love your pet(s).  They are there for the long-run so you and your fur-babies can build a relationship.  I love that Dr. Mendy makes me feel so welcome every time I'm in whether it's for an annual physical or someone under the weather.  And if you baby is not feeling well, they will generally get them in right away.The office always feels clean (very important) and I know even when I hear my baby cry from the backroom, they are doing what's best for her... no, no blood, no don't touch me there.  lolI will keep doing the drive and can't imagine the day Dr Mendy might decide to retire.  ;-) Read Less

Unfortunately I can't recommend this animal care facility to anyone unless you have money to throw away on fake diagnosis and want your pet to be tormented with unnecessary treatments and medication.My pet was diagnosed by Dr. Mendy with kidney failure and pancreatitis, among other things and recommended several very expensives and in his view, absolutely necessary treatment. In fact his assistant went as far as saying my pet's kidneys are shutting down unless I follow their treatment plan . I went to get a second opinion with the blood report he gave me, and that vet said my pet does not have either kidney failure or pancreatitis. I guess the almighty dollar is more important that the well being of a sick pet.Not impressed. Read Less

On more than one occasion I have come to Jacaranda Animal Hospital after saving a stray in need of emergent medical attention. From an 8-week old puppy with an internal parasite infestation, an upper-respiratory infection, and demodectic mange to a young adult with an exisiting but undetected-elsewhere case of ehrlichia to an adult with a growth on his tail in need of partial amputation to another young adult with a complete foreign-body obstruction of the small intestine, Dr. Mendy and his team have managed to work miracles for my ever-extending family, every - single - time. Everyone in the office has gone over and above when it came to caring for our animals at all times but especially when we rushed some in as emergency cases. I lived with my sister last year in Florida and brought with me my Havanese pup, Ninja. At first it was tough for us to find a good vet when he suddenly wouldn't eat; but thanks to Dr. Mendy and his team, Ninja has been better since then. This is a mixed review. While I like the quality of care that I received from the doctor and assistant here, I feel that I was misled with pricing and the coupon I intended to use.I brought my pup in at 14 weeks, needing a booster shot and deworm. I was told I could use a coupon for a "free wellness visit" for new clients. I anticipated paying for the microchipping which I wanted done that day. At the end of the appointment I had a bill for $260. This did include 90 for flea/tick meds because evidently the topical meds weren't effective. But I was still charged almost $100 for the microchipping, and the coupon only removed $60 of what was over a $150 exam. This is false advertising in my opinion and the reason I'm not going back although I did like the doctor. Upon looking at the invoice, their pricing is VERY high as well. Being in school, I needed to try and lower costs where I can, and there are many clinics that are just as awesome without overcharging. I later found out that the animal shelter microchips for $15. Had i known this, I would have had it done there even though I didn't adopt him from Broward. I was also given big sales pushes on the Hills food and Vet Insurance-I was given a free bag of food for Sam but he didn't care much for it although we did finish the bag. The Vet insurance policy the tech was trying to sell me was almost as much as my car payment. It shouldn't cost almost $200 for a normal well-puppy visit and microchipping. I had similar services done at my vet in Maryland for $50-60. When pups need visits every 4-5 weeks, $200 a pop is insane when you're not going to honor your coupon-and I read fine print. Read Less

I'm originally from out of the state but I spent a couple of weeks in Florida and brought along my cat, Toby who enjoys the water. After a few days of hitting the beach, there were signs of yeast infection due to his ears getting wet (I've been a bad cat owner), like excess ear wax or whatever those dirty things are. Anyway, I sought out Dr. Mendy in JAH and I can say that he and his staff did an awesome job in dealing with Toby's ailment, cleaned his ears and treated him with utmost care and professionalism.
