I initially had to meet Lakeside Animal Hospital under a really terrible moment. One of our beloved dogs passed away and we normally have a "traveling vet" who cares for our dogs. I was in an absolute panic and reached out to their office for assistance. Not being an "established client" with them I didn't know what to expect. These wonderful professionals were immediately compassionate, loving & incredibly accommodating. I drove there and they sent two techs outside to help me. Never once did they make me feel like an inconvenience and were just incredibly kind at a moment when I really needed both kindness AND help. We subsequently used their services for boarding (top notch care!!) and our dogs were all washed and beautifully cared for with them! Took my dog in as an "emergency"drop off with a respiratory issue and was told he would be seen immediately as he had been an established patient for years. He sat there all day from 9:30am till 4:00 pm and they ran a few test and was given no treatment! I confirmed that they could give him whatever test/treatment necessary to help him and was told they would contact me as soon as they knew something. I kept calling being told he was stable.... We finally just showed up at 4pm because we hadn't heard anything and my dog could barely walk to reception area... Had a blue tongue (sign of respiratory distress).... He was worse than when we dropped him off. We then had to rush him to another facility that were amazing and they immediately placed him in an oxygen tank... Despite their efforts his condition had escalated to a point that we couldn't remove him from oxygen tank for testing. There was nothing else they could do he was suffering. I ended up having to do a rush putting him to sleep.. As he began to crash upon removal of oxygen tank.... When I contacted lakeside animal hospital to ask if he was given oxygen while in their care for respiratory distress the head vet tech told me "he was fine sleeping the whole time in cage while in their care" "he was fine and not in respiratory distress"??? Yet I drive him immediately upon pick up twenty min away and he's in full blown respiratory distress.... In my opinion they left my dog untreated and I was told by the dr that day that they were so busy . So I feel he was neglected and they contributed to the death of my dog because his condition worsened as he sat caged Untreated all day. In my opinion they killed my fur baby who was like my family. They have denied he was sick yet I have all the records stating that's not true from the other vet. They even charged me 500.00 for all the tests they say they did.... Yet on the other hand they state he was fine. In my opinion they killed my dog, left him to suffer, and then lied about it! I moved to south Florida recently and thought I had found a decent vet with Lakeside. Wrong. I've boarded my cat twice (and the last time) with them. Both times I've boarded my cat they have to call and tell me when to pick her up, which 99% of the time is at a time when I'm busy. They even offered to "extend her stay" a night because they were too busy. I don't appreciate being told when I can and cannot pick up my cat! Then, this second time, they charged me twice as much for boarding and put my cat in isolation because she's herpes positive. Without telling me this. I've seen other vets and none of them have ever told me she needed to be isolated OR paid $30 a night for "observation." And why didn't they do this the first time?! The staff was rude, except they let me pick my cat up after I told them I was coming regardless of what they said. Also their separate entrances for cats and dogs aren't separated seeing as how the cats just have a little "corner" while the dogs have the entire waiting area which makes my cat nervous. This just popped up on my fb page, i don't even live in this city anymore, but have such high regard for this practice. Approximately 5 years ago our dachshund had been run over and needed an xray and determine what to do. We had no money for a few days until payday, i was so distraught, my husband out of town and my kids crying. I called our regular family vet in Wellborn and explained our desperate situation. I sat on the phone for the wife of the Dr to remind me they needed pymt upfront and why, she told me all about the bills of the practice and just sunk me further into my horrible situation. We called Lakeside, they had never heard of us and told us to bring him in right away, they took a check that i asked them to please deposit on Thursday and they graciously did. Not sure yet. Went by information on web site to give my Mother a mothers day gift of boarding her cat so she could visit us in Michigan. The cost went from a possible $20 to $22 a day (off site pricing) to $30 a day when she went to check it out. I've emailed them and am waiting on response as to why it is posted as one price, yet she was given another. The extra $13 a day to give him his meds is a let down. It states $3 to $5 per day. AMAZING STAFF!!! I started taking Chase, my 3 year old American Bulldog to Lakeside about a year ago when the vet he went to as a puppy mistreated him. About 2 weeks ago he ate a foreign body that caused an obstruction and had to have surgery to save his life. My faith in the Lakeside staff was tested once again. They proved to be the most pet loving, compassionate, and caring group of professionals. Not many people (not even some vets) understand bully breeds, but Lakeside applied the Golden Rule to my boy and he is just as loving with them as he is at home. This clinic is very expensive and not worth the money you will have to pay. The doctor there doesn't seem to know what she is doing often, making you spend money on unecessary tests often. She wont take much time with you, and will charge you alot of $$$. CHECK YOUR BILL AT CHECKOUT ALWAYS !! They make ALOT of mistakes, always to their favor !!!! Worst experience ever! I was with Dr. Kelly Saporito. I went there because of the good reviews after moving from CA. My dog had been dripping urine. Saporito said she would have to rule out UTI first, which I agreed. She ordered urine samples, and to catch clean urine she needed to be injected fluid which costed $20 and wait 2hrs. So I paid and waited. My poor dog was in the cage of their back office for 2hrs for no reason. 2hrs later she said she couldn't catch urine due to not enough amount, and to come back the next day morning without letting her pea. What the hell? Shouldn't she have done that in the first place? That would have saved $20, 2 hrs of my time, and 2 hrs of my dog's suffering!!! And when I asked, isn't it a protocol that you check regular urine first to make sure she has UTI and then get clean sample?, they replied it was because she was 99% sure it was UTI that my dog was dripping urine and needed to find out the exact bacteria that was causing it. The clean urine sample test caused me $103. Guess what? My dog DIDN'T HAVE UTI. Do not go there if you don't want unnecessary exams and costs! Please find a decent vet! She was so prideful. And the other day I needed my dog to get blood test. They took her to the lab, and didn't call me for 10 min. I could hear my dog screaming. When I finally ran out of patience and asked where my dog was, they said I have to pay first to get my dog. Does pediatricians hold your kids until you pay your bill? I just could not believe what I experienced in that horrible place! My old vet in CA did ALL the procedures including blood sampling and vaccinations in my presence, and never held my dog for hostage. I will NEVER EVER go to that place again! I was recommended by someone to go to this clinic.\nAll they care about is revenue... The receptionist is well trained to make you aware that u must vaccinate your dog because non of the vaccines are good enough. The medication they sale is more than double than any online vet store. I was very happy with the vet care my dog got at Lakeside for the past 3 years. The doctors were knowledgeable and patient and seemed to genuinely like my dog. Any time she had a medical problem it was resolved with one visit. I was disappointed with the boarding services. The cost was good but twice I boarded my dog and she came back completely dehydrated. It's like they didn't give her any water for days. Her nose was dry, her breath smelled like fish and she had an upset stomach and no energy. Had a great experience at this animal hospital. When I dropped smokey off for grooming, the girl up front were very quick to greet me and get me checked in. Liz is the best groomer!! Smokey has never looked better!!! They were very busy when I picked up and the girls seemed a little over whelmed.But they still managed a smile and get to me as soon as possible. My cat is 7 years old and diabetic so we spend a lot of time at Lakeside. I feel as though I know the staff and doctors very well, they make me feel like family. When we have our visits I can watch television, or speak with the staff while he is being treated. Everyone is so friendly, so conversation comes easy. They inform me of how Keebler is doing in the treatment area, and will always explain the tests and costs before they are done.The staff is knowledgable in the field and if they are not sure of an answer they are quick to find it for you. I am a long time client of Lakeside Animal Hospital. I make the routine visits for vaccines, but occasionally I go away on bussiness trips. My dog ""Sasha"" (a lab) unfortunately does not meet the requirements to fly with me on the plane so i board her at lakeside. Not only does she love to stay with them, they truly love to see her! Why go any where else?The doctors and staff are great. Very knowledgeable as well as friendly. Great hours. I had the pleasure of having Dr Saporito examine my pet. (my usual vet is Dr Fernandez, whom I can't say enough about!!) Dr Saporito was super friendly and did not seem to mind my questions. I did have to wait a little while, because they were very busy. This place ROCKS. I took my previous pets to this clinic for over 10 years, prior to Dr Monica taking over. Now that Dr Fernandez and her staff are there, it is the BEST place to take your pets. The girls in the front try their best to remember your name each time you go in there or call. The doctors and their assistants are super nice. They take the time to listen to you and your pet. This is the place to go to make you and your pet feel special. My dog was very ill and when I called they told me to come right in. The assistants came out and helped me get ""lola"" out of my car. Both Dr Fernandez and Dr Saporito saved my dogs life. Who would have known a little toad could be so deadly?! Lola just turned 2 last week and I couldn""t be more thrilled with the service and compassion I recieved. They even called me to follow up on her progress. I don't even get that courtesy from my kids doctor. The doctor really know their stuff and it shows. Dr. Saporito and all the staff at Lakeside Animal Hospital, my little min pin ""Roo"" needed surgery on her rear legs. I know it was traumatic for her, but it was also very upsetting for me. As usual, we were treated with kindness and respect. After the surgery, I received follow-up calls every day for about 10 days. my own doctor wouldn't have done this. I knew that I could call if there were any problems and would be able to come into the office right away. This was not necessary. Everything went very smoothly. The most amazing part was the follow-up, I thought that ""Roo"" would be reluctant to go back into the office again. Not so. When we get out of the car, she can't wait to get inside. Just had my new kittens first visit to her new doctor last week . What an awsome experience. It had been so long since I had a kitten, but the entire staff was so helpful. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt that I was someplace that truly cared. Even though the office was quite busy, the staff made me feel like I was the most important person there. The girls at the front desk gave me their undivided attention. They took the time to explain all sorts of things I needed to know. The doctors were so good at comforting my little ""Princess"". She seemed to melt at the doctors touch. They even took the extra step to call and check on my baby the next day. To my amazement, I just got a card in the mail welcoming me. I recenlty lost my puppy. The receptionist staff at Lakeside Animal Hospital are very RUDE. They were not sympathetic to my loss. When, after they held my dog for 2 weeks, I went to pick her up they had her in an open box so that I could view her in a bag. The receptionist said ""Oh I am sorry but I need you to sign this"" and handed me a file to sign that I was picking up my dogs remains. She then dropped my dog down on the counter. Picking her up by myself was a very hard thing for me to do. I thought that when she said that she was sorry she was going to say for my loss but instead she didn't and still proceeded to just drop my dog down, after she was previously laughing with another customer in front of me. We have taken our cats to Dr. Fernandez for a very long time. She is like an angel. We live in Orlando now but we still make that 200 mile trip to take them to see her. If you are not sure about taking your animals there please go and see her tell them that Chubs has sent you. He is her buddy. She has helped our cats from everything between surgurys to the bad food case. She is the reason why our cats are still around without her knowlage they might not be here today.
