I've been coming here many many years, and plan to for many many more. Why you ask. The staff. The front staff, the grooming staff, the kennel staff, the vet techs, and last but not least, the veterinarians. They're all so special. They all care about the fur baby, but they care about the parent as well. They go out of their way to help. A wonderful hospital.

So confused and disheartened by the lack of care I received at this hospital. They claimed my dog had pancreatitis when he actually had a blockage in his stomach. After $700 worth of xrays, they couldn't see the blockage in his intestines. I am extremely disappointed. I felt the doctor was unconcerned about my dogs health. Ended up at Coral Springs Animal Hospital and my dog is thankfully in recovery. Just don't waste your time here, you're better off at CSAH.

HORRIBLE PLACE!!I had an emergency with my dog and I decided to choose Hillsboro Beach Animal Hospital, little did I know this was a HUGE mistake. I arrived there around 6:10pm on a Friday holding my dog in my arms wrapped in a towel whilst she was visibly shaking and her eyes were tomato red because she was very sick. Once I walked inside the lady at the front desk greeted us and then handed me paperwork and I began to fill it out while I was still holding my dog. Then while I am still filling out their paperwork ten minutes later this woman comes out (6:20pm) and tells me that the doctor will not be able to attend to my situation because "she is leaving at 6:30." So you are telling me that after you gave me the packet to fill out, well knowing that your vet is leaving in twenty minutes?? Nonetheless I asked her politely if she could please stay for at least a little longer because my dog is very sick and I recently had my other dog die so I was in tears while asking her this. She came back after maybe 2 minutes (6:22pm) and said that the doctor will leave at 6:30pm no matter what because she wants to go home but she will examine my dog for me but if my dog need further testing then I will have to go somewhere else?? So you are telling me that you want me to fill out this packet, have you examine my dog that you can visibly see needs medical attention, refer me to another place, and make me pay you? They literally wanted me to pay them to say that "you're dog needs further testing and needs to go to another animal hospital." Overall, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone because I had to spend about 20 minutes there to find out that they couldn't attend to my dog that was visibly sick and that literally threw up the second we walked out of there. Go at your own risk.

SUCH A GREAT PLACE! Brought my Catahula here because she got bit or stuck by something and it gave her a massive infection on her front left leg. The night before I brought her to an emergancy clinic because I was very worried but the quote they gave me for the 15 minute surgery that had to be done was way to high for me. I had them give her pain meds and brought her to Hillsboro animal clinic the next morning they had her checked out and done with surgery in 30/45 minutes for HALF the price of the emergancy clinic. Such great people very friendly and explained everything for me to understand.

This is the second time this year Dr. Munoz has saved my cats life. Both times he saw him last minute, both times I did not wait long, and both times the front desk staff was nice and helpful. On top of all of this, my cat received great care and was not pushed to do anything unnecessary AND both times my bill came in at a reasonable price. I do not have a paw plan so I pay a la carte for my services and I never feel overcharged or under cared for.

I took my mom's two aging kitties here on a Sunday. I repeat - on a Sunday! I called that morning and got an appointment for the afternoon.Joe was so great with the cats. He handled them with care and gentleness and was very kind. Dr Davila was also great to work with. Both he and Joe listened while I explained the situation with the kitties and my concerns. Dr D came up with a treatment plan and gave me options, explaining the risks (limited) and finances with each option.At first, I only brought the eldest of the two cats. When it turned out she wasn't as sick as I had thought, they suggested I go home and get the other cat. As I only had one cat carrier, they found one I could borrow, and I ran home for Kitty #2.I had such a great experience here, I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

Been taking my 2 yorkies there for almost 2 years... I stopped the paw plan a little over week in a half... This morning I took one of my yorkies in because she had trouble breathing... The ladie at front desk pulled her chart up and then went to the back... Then she came back and told me to take it to the ER and they cant see her... All they want is money every month and don't care about your fur babys!!! When you do have a paw plan they still try to over charge you even for the visit... Make sure they show you how much soon as you do get in because when you go to pay your not in shock...

These money grubbing bastards let my dog die. I couldn't afford the total bill, but I've taken my dogs there for years and spent thousands of dollars. They told my husband Sammy would die in 48 hours if he wasn't treated. They had him there ALL day and didn't offer Sammy a damn thing. Then didn't even send us home with a weeks worth of meds that we could pay back on Friday. The total balance, in full, was promptly paid Friday morning. Sammy died today. Dr. Davila can rot in hell. They care more about money than their patients.

Thanks to Vanessa and the rest of the staff here for making visits to the vet a friendly encounter- and for being so sweet to my kitties. Always in and out quickly here, they have great pet care suggestions and health care plans and set my my mind at ease after rescuing 2 strays back to back.Also, they were open right up until Hurricane Irma hit when I needed to order meds for my 4 month old kitten- really putting the furry customers first!!

Dr. Munoz is the only vet I trust to care for my fur baby Minnie. She is a 12 year old MinPin/Chihuahua mix.He went over the bloodwork and urinalysis results with me in detail and was not trying to just rush us out. Also he didn't try to push extra testing on us right away and wanted to let time tell us if the issue needed more attention. I fully recommend taking your fur babies to see Dr. Munoz!

I've been taking my dogs to Hillsboro Animal Hospital since they opened. They've taken extremely good care of our 5 generations of Rottweilers.Today's visit changed everything and I'll never return again.Dr. Taylor who have seen my puppies since they were 8 weeks old is no longer there and all the Dr.'s have left except one. When making the appointment no one apprised me of the fact she no longer worked there, instead saying she wasn't working that particular day. I took Duke and Dutchess in for their 1 year rabies shot. They took him away to weigh him and when he did not return I walked back to see what was happening. Three assistances were on top of Duke holding him down and they had muzzled him so they could take blood. No one told me they were talking blood. And no one asked if he needed or for that matter to get my consent to be muzzled.The Vet said it is a safety precaution, never apologizing for not communicating the muzzle situation The Vet was insensitive and I'll never return again. Don't trust this Animal Hospital.

I do not take her to this vet anymore, I have moved on to a better vet and she is up to date! The doctors were very nice and tried their best to help with my pet. The customer service from this place is down right unprofessional. Front desk tech Sabrina is so kind and helpful I love speaking with her. There is one person I do not agree with Vanessa. Absolutely rude and disgraceful behavior. Unfriendly and so cold. I will never recommend or bring my pet here AGAIN.

As a new patient, I was reassured TWICE prior to my first appointment, that the staff would call my previous vet to build my dog's new file. When I showed up to my appointment, they hadn't called my vet. When I asked the lady at the desk why she hadn't called, she said she's "just been too busy." Man, I'd love to say that to my boss if my work ever doesn't get done and see and his reaction.They then didn't do anything to try to rectify the situation - not even something as simple as an apology. They offered me another appointment and when I called before that appointment, shocker, they still hadn't called my previous vet.Such a shame because their vet tech was an absolute delight. But this place is extremely unprofessional and not worth your time and money.

It is very rare that I ever walk away from a veterinary clinic feeling positive but today was definitely the case. Our indoor/outdoor cat came home last night with large bites on his rear from some unknown animal. First thing in the morning, I called this clinic and they fit me in right away! The wait time for an emergency visit was reasonable and they didn't charge me an extra emergency visit fee! The vet, Dr. Garcia, was so kind and sweet with our little bud and was respectful of our budget. It's the first time a vet hasn't made me feel like a terrible human being because I can't afford a battery of tests and treatments. She gave me all the options, told me which ones were priority and which ones could wait and was upfront about all the costs. Less than an hour later, I was walking away with a stitched up, vaccinated, and pain relieved cat. I am so grateful! For the first time, i felt that a vet cares more for me and my pet than their bottom line. They even gave us a new patient gift bag with a candle and water bottle. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and excellent service! They gained a new patient for life!

I have gone to this vet twice for an annual wellness visit for my dog. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I have had my fair share of vet visits in my dog's life and this vet doesn't up-charge or force you into unnecessary treatment. They are also open seven days a week with appointments starting early in the morning so that makes scheduling outside of work easy.

HBAH is our seasonal vet clinic and I couldn't be happier with their level of care and kindness. We've dealt with them on an emergency basis for our pup with pancreatitis flair ups as well as when one of our dogs developed the canine flu. They do not try to push any unnecessary products or services and are very thorough when explaining what they're doing or any of your treatment options.
They also provided us with a list of reputable ER vet clinics incase we ever have any emergency situations outside of their very convenient office hours.
Highly recommend this clinic!

We visited Hillsboro Animal Hospital on a Sunday because our cat was very sick and two other vets were unable to discover what was wrong with him. Unfortunately, we had to euthanize our cat. Dr. Garcia and the team were very helpful and understanding of our situation, and clearly explained all of our options. The entire staff made this dreadful experience very calming and allowed us to properly say goodbye to our cat. We have now decided to take our other pets to this hospital for future treatments and check-ups. Thank you for the kind words and helping us get through this tough moment!

Found a cat outside of my condo. I couldn't keep it, but my mom wanted to so we took it here for checkup and were there 2.5 hours. They told us it was a female around 3 years old. They only sell Revolution in 6 month doses because they just want your $$. Nobody needs 6 months of Revolution for a cat that is going to be living indoors. They lost our fecal sample while telling us they just didn't have the results back yet, but found it 2 days later - they had never sent it out. My mom ends up taking the cat to my vet for a follow up and they tell her it's NOT a young female- BUT A BOY around 8 years old. Don't go to Hillsboro Beach Animal Hospital unless you want to wait forever and have incompetent people handling your beloved pet. The original vet/owner Dr Van Duys sold it a few years ago and ever since then it hasn't been the same. Such a shame.

I used to love this animal hospital and my family even took our childhood pet here 10 years ago but it is not the same as it once was so I am currently looking for a new place to take my dog. I had an appointment and waited an hour until I was even put into a room; I agree with the other reviewer, they need some help with scheduling or another vet on site. Besides that, there was urine I pointed out in the waiting room, which happens, but to my surprise it was still there when I left. There are a lot of other issues I have (including a rise in prices) but either way, it is time to move on. :(

I really love Dr. Sami. She takes great care of my cat. She makes me laugh and reassures me when I am freaked out about my cat's health. When I was in St. Thomas, my cat had ear troubles, so I went to a local vet who inadvertently prescribed a steroid solution for his ears. That's a no-no for a diabetic cat. I could not figure out what was wrong. Moral of the story, after many visits and much money, I returned to Deerfield Beach and Dr. Sami knew right away when I showed her the bottle. Not all vets are created equal, but I love her because she helps me and my cat. Recommended.

First, they gave my puppy a vaccination and then tested him for parvo and false diagnosed him and told me I would need to bring him to a contamination unit which he would have died if he went! Also talk about $4,000 later.. They were the ones to vaccinate him they should have known that maybe it would create a false positive test. We had to treat Mila for fleas and took the opportunity to thoroughly get her checked out. The staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable and Dr. Taylor is great! I cannot say ENOUGH about the staff and Dr. Munoz at Hillsboro Beach Animal Hospital! We had to make that very difficult decision that no one ever wants to make regarding their family member. Dr. Munoz was so sympathetic and very sensitive in his diagnosis and how he shared those results especially in the presence of my 10 year daughter. His words were kind and understanding in that situation. Then to receive a hand written note sharing his thoughts and his concern that we knew that the decision we made was the right one. I could not recommend anyone more! If you do not have a vet for your family pet I would definitely recommend this hospital!!!! Thank you all for your concern, caring attitude and professionalism. So so so glad we found you!

I have been bringing my dogs here for over 10 years. After going through several vets offices in Deerfield I stumbled across this amazing place. One dog they have seen for 11 years and she runs to the door to get in. A few years ago I found a lump on one of my dogs and it was determined it was cancer. Through the battle they were very sympathetic and caring. The day we had to bring her in for the last time, the support we received from the staff was beyond amazing. I bring my two dogs there now and they have always been friendly and helpful. Especially when my one dog loves to get into random things. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their dogs because the staff and the drs show amazing care. Dr. Reneker is who they normally see and my oldest dog runs up to him. My newest is getting better at knowing the staff.

I just can't find enough kind words to say about this place. They have cared for our dogs since they were pups and every doctor and staff member is nothing short of just wonderful, caring, compassionate, patient and knowledgeable. I can't thank them enough for all they have done for us through the good times and the sad ones. Thank you guys so very much for taking such amazing care of my babies! (and me when I needed a shoulder to cry on) :). You guys are truly second to none.

So confused and disheartened by the lack of care I received at this hospital. They claimed my dog had pancreatitis when he actually had a blockage in his stomach. After $700 worth of xrays, they couldn't see the blockage in his intestines. I am extremely disappointed. I felt the doctor was unconcerned about my dogs health. Ended up at Coral Springs Animal Hospital and my dog is thankfully in recovery. Just don't waste your time here, you're better off at CSAH.

HORRIBLE PLACE!!I had an emergency with my dog and I decided to choose Hillsboro Beach Animal Hospital, little did I know this was a HUGE mistake. I arrived there around 6:10pm on a Friday holding my dog in my arms wrapped in a towel whilst she was visibly shaking and her eyes were tomato red because she was very sick. Once I walked inside the lady at the front desk greeted us and then handed me paperwork and I began to fill it out while I was still holding my dog. Then while I am still filling out their paperwork ten minutes later this woman comes out (6:20pm) and tells me that the doctor will not be able to attend to my situation because "she is leaving at 6:30." So you are telling me that after you gave me the packet to fill out, well knowing that your vet is leaving in twenty minutes?? Nonetheless I asked her politely if she could please stay for at least a little longer because my dog is very sick and I recently had my other dog die so I was in tears while asking her this. She came back after maybe 2 minutes (6:22pm) and said that the doctor will leave at 6:30pm no matter what because she wants to go home but she will examine my dog for me but if my dog need further testing then I will have to go somewhere else?? So you are telling me that you want me to fill out this packet, have you examine my dog that you can visibly see needs medical attention, refer me to another place, and make me pay you? They literally wanted me to pay them to say that "you're dog needs further testing and needs to go to another animal hospital." Overall, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone because I had to spend about 20 minutes there to find out that they couldn't attend to my dog that was visibly sick and that literally threw up the second we walked out of there. Go at your own risk.

SUCH A GREAT PLACE! Brought my Catahula here because she got bit or stuck by something and it gave her a massive infection on her front left leg. The night before I brought her to an emergancy clinic because I was very worried but the quote they gave me for the 15 minute surgery that had to be done was way to high for me. I had them give her pain meds and brought her to Hillsboro animal clinic the next morning they had her checked out and done with surgery in 30/45 minutes for HALF the price of the emergancy clinic. Such great people very friendly and explained everything for me to understand.

This is the second time this year Dr. Munoz has saved my cats life. Both times he saw him last minute, both times I did not wait long, and both times the front desk staff was nice and helpful. On top of all of this, my cat received great care and was not pushed to do anything unnecessary AND both times my bill came in at a reasonable price. I do not have a paw plan so I pay a la carte for my services and I never feel overcharged or under cared for.

I took my mom's two aging kitties here on a Sunday. I repeat - on a Sunday! I called that morning and got an appointment for the afternoon.Joe was so great with the cats. He handled them with care and gentleness and was very kind. Dr Davila was also great to work with. Both he and Joe listened while I explained the situation with the kitties and my concerns. Dr D came up with a treatment plan and gave me options, explaining the risks (limited) and finances with each option.At first, I only brought the eldest of the two cats. When it turned out she wasn't as sick as I had thought, they suggested I go home and get the other cat. As I only had one cat carrier, they found one I could borrow, and I ran home for Kitty #2.I had such a great experience here, I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

The ladie at front desk pulled her chart up and then went to the back... Then she came back and told me to take it to the ER and they cant see her... All they want is money every month and don't care about your fur babys!!! When you do have a paw plan they still try to over charge you even for the visit... Make sure they show you how much soon as you do get in because when you go to pay your not in shock...

These money grubbing bastards let my dog die. I couldn't afford the total bill, but I've taken my dogs there for years and spent thousands of dollars. They told my husband Sammy would die in 48 hours if he wasn't treated. They had him there ALL day and didn't offer Sammy a damn thing. Then didn't even send us home with a weeks worth of meds that we could pay back on Friday. The total balance, in full, was promptly paid Friday morning. Sammy died today. Dr. Davila can rot in hell. They care more about money than their patients.

I've been taking my dogs to Hillsboro Animal Hospital since they opened. They've taken extremely good care of our 5 generations of Rottweilers.Today's visit changed everything and I'll never return again.Dr. Taylor who have seen my puppies since they were 8 weeks old is no longer there and all the Dr.'s have left except one. When making the appointment no one apprised me of the fact she no longer worked there, instead saying she wasn't working that particular day. I took Duke and Dutchess in for their 1 year rabies shot. They took him away to weigh him and when he did not return I walked back to see what was happening. Three assistances were on top of Duke holding him down and they had muzzled him so they could take blood. No one told me they were talking blood. And no one asked if he needed or for that matter to get my consent to be muzzled.The Vet said it is a safety precaution, never apologizing for not communicating the muzzle situation The Vet was insensitive and I'll never return again. Don't trust this Animal Hospital.

I recently received a phone call from the vet letting me know that my dog is way over due for everything she needs. There's a reason why. I do not take her to this vet anymore, I have moved on to a better vet and she is up to date! The doctors were very nice and tried their best to help with my pet. The customer service from this place is down right unprofessional. Front desk tech Sabrina is so kind and helpful I love speaking with her. There is one person I do not agree with Vanessa. Absolutely rude and disgraceful behavior. Unfriendly and so cold. I will never recommend or bring my pet here AGAIN.

As a new patient, I was reassured TWICE prior to my first appointment, that the staff would call my previous vet to build my dog's new file. When I showed up to my appointment, they hadn't called my vet. When I asked the lady at the desk why she hadn't called, she said she's "just been too busy." Man, I'd love to say that to my boss if my work ever doesn't get done and see and his reaction.They then didn't do anything to try to rectify the situation - not even something as simple as an apology. They offered me another appointment and when I called before that appointment, shocker, they still hadn't called my previous vet.Such a shame because their vet tech was an absolute delight. But this place is extremely unprofessional and not worth your time and money.

It is very rare that I ever walk away from a veterinary clinic feeling positive but today was definitely the case. Our indoor/outdoor cat came home last night with large bites on his rear from some unknown animal. First thing in the morning, I called this clinic and they fit me in right away! The wait time for an emergency visit was reasonable and they didn't charge me an extra emergency visit fee! The vet, Dr. Garcia, was so kind and sweet with our little bud and was respectful of our budget. It's the first time a vet hasn't made me feel like a terrible human being because I can't afford a battery of tests and treatments. She gave me all the options, told me which ones were priority and which ones could wait and was upfront about all the costs. Less than an hour later, I was walking away with a stitched up, vaccinated, and pain relieved cat. I am so grateful! For the first time, i felt that a vet cares more for me and my pet than their bottom line. They even gave us a new patient gift bag with a candle and water bottle. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and excellent service! They gained a new patient for life!

I have had my fair share of vet visits in my dog's life and this vet doesn't up-charge or force you into unnecessary treatment. They are also open seven days a week with appointments starting early in the morning so that makes scheduling outside of work easy.

HBAH is our seasonal vet clinic and I couldn't be happier with their level of care and kindness. We've dealt with them on an emergency basis for our pup with pancreatitis flair ups as well as when one of our dogs developed the canine flu. They do not try to push any unnecessary products or services and are very thorough when explaining what they're doing or any of your treatment options.
They also provided us with a list of reputable ER vet clinics incase we ever have any emergency situations outside of their very convenient office hours.
Highly recommend this clinic!

We visited Hillsboro Animal Hospital on a Sunday because our cat was very sick and two other vets were unable to discover what was wrong with him. Unfortunately, we had to euthanize our cat. Dr. Garcia and the team were very helpful and understanding of our situation, and clearly explained all of our options. The entire staff made this dreadful experience very calming and allowed us to properly say goodbye to our cat. We have now decided to take our other pets to this hospital for future treatments and check-ups. Thank you for the kind words and helping us get through this tough moment!

Found a cat outside of my condo. I couldn't keep it, but my mom wanted to so we took it here for checkup and were there 2.5 hours. They told us it was a female around 3 years old. They only sell Revolution in 6 month doses because they just want your $$. Nobody needs 6 months of Revolution for a cat that is going to be living indoors. They lost our fecal sample while telling us they just didn't have the results back yet, but found it 2 days later - they had never sent it out. My mom ends up taking the cat to my vet for a follow up and they tell her it's NOT a young female- BUT A BOY around 8 years old. Don't go to Hillsboro Beach Animal Hospital unless you want to wait forever and have incompetent people handling your beloved pet. The original vet/owner Dr Van Duys sold it a few years ago and ever since then it hasn't been the same. Such a shame.

I used to love this animal hospital and my family even took our childhood pet here 10 years ago but it is not the same as it once was so I am currently looking for a new place to take my dog. I had an appointment and waited an hour until I was even put into a room; I agree with the other reviewer, they need some help with scheduling or another vet on site. Besides that, there was urine I pointed out in the waiting room, which happens, but to my surprise it was still there when I left. There are a lot of other issues I have (including a rise in prices) but either way, it is time to move on. :(

I really love Dr. Sami. She takes great care of my cat. She makes me laugh and reassures me when I am freaked out about my cat's health. When I was in St. Thomas, my cat had ear troubles, so I went to a local vet who inadvertently prescribed a steroid solution for his ears. That's a no-no for a diabetic cat. I could not figure out what was wrong. Moral of the story, after many visits and much money, I returned to Deerfield Beach and Dr. Sami knew right away when I showed her the bottle. Not all vets are created equal, but I love her because she helps me and my cat. Recommended.

This animal hospital is horrible. First, they gave my puppy a vaccination and then tested him for parvo and false diagnosed him and told me I would need to bring him to a contamination unit which he would have died if he went! Also talk about $4,000 later.. They were the ones to vaccinate him they should have known that maybe it would create a false positive test. Thankfully I went and got a second opinion and he was NOWHERE NEAR SICK. I will never step close to this place again nor do I recommend you going

It was my first time to the vet with our cat Mila, who my daughter brought home and then we became new cat owners with no experience! We had to treat Mila for fleas and took the opportunity to thoroughly get her checked out. The staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable and Dr. Taylor is great! Mila was very well taken care of and all my concerns and questions as a new "pet mommy" were answered. I highly recommend this most awesome animal hospital!

The other docs are just as caring, competent, and qualified.If you're looking for a place Fluffy or Fido, drop by Hillsboro Beach Animal Hospital.I take my pup's health care very seriously, and I'd not consider going anywhere else.

I cannot say ENOUGH about the staff and Dr. Munoz at Hillsboro Beach Animal Hospital! We had to make that very difficult decision that no one ever wants to make regarding their family member. Dr. Munoz was so sympathetic and very sensitive in his diagnosis and how he shared those results especially in the presence of my 10 year daughter. His words were kind and understanding in that situation. Then to receive a hand written note sharing his thoughts and his concern that we knew that the decision we made was the right one. I could not recommend anyone more! If you do not have a vet for your family pet I would definitely recommend this hospital!!!! Thank you all for your concern, caring attitude and professionalism. So so so glad we found you!

I have been bringing my dogs here for over 10 years. After going through several vets offices in Deerfield I stumbled across this amazing place. One dog they have seen for 11 years and she runs to the door to get in. A few years ago I found a lump on one of my dogs and it was determined it was cancer. Through the battle they were very sympathetic and caring. The day we had to bring her in for the last time, the support we received from the staff was beyond amazing. I bring my two dogs there now and they have always been friendly and helpful. Especially when my one dog loves to get into random things. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their dogs because the staff and the drs show amazing care. Dr. Reneker is who they normally see and my oldest dog runs up to him. My newest is getting better at knowing the staff.

i've only been going to the animal hospital for about a year, but comparing it to the last hospital i went to it's a 100% better. the staff and doctors are so nice and knowledgable. when there is a need to get an appointment urgently there is no problem. i highly recommend hillsboro animal hospital. my 4 babies love it there

I just can't find enough kind words to say about this place. They have cared for our dogs since they were pups and every doctor and staff member is nothing short of just wonderful, caring, compassionate, patient and knowledgeable. I can't thank them enough for all they have done for us through the good times and the sad ones. Thank you guys so very much for taking such amazing care of my babies! (and me when I needed a shoulder to cry on) :). You guys are truly second to none.
