This was my first time with my new puppy at Englewood Animal Hospital. The place was a little busy, but the staff was fantastic and could not have been more helpful. Went this morning been going there for10 years, My dog had an ear infection. Offer me a $191.00 treatment, I said I cant afford that. Came back with a $110 00 ear drops, Paid it and left. Went on line to Pet Pharmacy $33.99 . I am outraged I sent email to them no response. DO NOT BUY ANY MEDICATIONS FROM THEM GET THE SCRIPT AND FILL IT ELSE WHERE.I could go on and on I wont . I called to get the information, after I was recommended to your hospital, and was greeted by a staff member who huffed and puffed, and made me feel as though I was wasting her time. I suggest the executive director sit down with this young lady, and not only inform her on some customer service skills, and how to treat people when they call your hospital for information, but also the CORRECT information on your foundation. If your staff member had taken the time to inform me on the correct information, after I went out of my way to call, then this review would not exist. Your unprofessional reply on how I was treated by your staff when I called your hospital, is a reflection on what kind of treatment my dog Maggie and I would have received, had we come to this hospital. Anyone who reads this, and or your reply will see that as well. WARNING- DO NOT DONATE YOUR MONEY TO THIS CLINIC- I believe its a scam! A friend of mine recommended me to this Vet office. She has been going to this office for quite some time, and stated to me that this office has an animal foundation(which she said she has donated too multiple times), that will help you with emergencies if you financially need it. I called this afternoon to inquire about the financial help, and what I needed to bring with me, and to see if I could come in today, and spoke to a young lady named Sarah, I inquired about this "Foundation", and stated I had financial strain as my husband recently passed away, but my dog Maggie possibly needed stitches. Not only was she EXTREMELY rude, and made me feel like I was wasting her time, but she stated to me that the "foundation" does not help with something small like stitches, only major issues, and I needed to be an existing patient there, and that nothing could be done today anyway, as it was too late. I called around 3:45pm, and my friend had stated to me they will take walk-ins, and they don't close until 5:00pm. After hanging up the phone, I immediately called my friend back to tell her how badly I was treated, she was extremely embarrassed and told me to call back and speak to the office manager. I called back , and was immediately placed on hold for several minutes, at which point I hung up. I called Lemon Bay and they were more then happy to see my Maggie, and helped with my financial stain, they stated to me that they have heard this before from other people about this hospitals 'Foundation". This animal hospital is absolutely horrible. They took money for X-rays for my mother's dog, and then denied treatment for an emergency C-section. We are talking about a 6 pound Yorkie here. Thankfully, the people at Lemon Bay Animal Hospital actually care about more than just money. This is not a fake review, this is the real deal. This hospital is so horrible that they blocked my mother on Facebook and removed her comments on their official page, as well as disabling her ability to comment there anymore. Say it's a fake review all you want, it won't change just how horrible you are to people and their pets. EDIT: In response to your reasoning, you and your "foundation" could have easily made us go in debt and helped her as fast as possible. You by no means are being truthful as she was never asked for any finical records. She asked all of my options of payment and being this was an emergency, she didn't have cash for the full amount or enough credit on a card but could pay part. You only said go call some friends or family for the money. This is ridiculous that it even happened own up to the fact that you would not treat a emergency situation as such over money. There was no scam on her side. I will gladly provide phone numbers and vet bills. You sent her packing with no option but to call around. My dog would have died, and this is horrible to think that you people care more about money than your actual job. My mother opened up a care credit card at the other clinic. Dr, Chris and his staff saved my poodle Jack.  They were compassionate and caring.  It is  a very busy clinic because they don't charge as much as other vets,and understand that not everyone can afford thousands of dollars for one treatment.  They were exceptional with Jack who has now passed on, but when he was treated he was a 17 year poodle and they extended his life to 20, by pulling teeth and removing lumps.  The very best vet in the area. I'm new to this office and have had nothing but positive experiences thus far. EVERYONE has been very friendly and has made my puppy feel welcomed. Recently had her spayed and she is doing great except for stealing shoes to use for personal chew toys..lol. I unfortunately witnessed an accident involving a dog on 776. As I was pulling over to see if I could help, I see Sibhan and Dr. Chris running across traffic, picking the poor baby up off the road, and running it back to the clinic..hero's in my eyes whether the dog lived or not. They are busy at times, but that just tells me they are well liked and maybe need to expand! I will be a forever client as long as their compassion remains. Love this office. Read Less

In July of this year we were fostering a French Mastiff. We took Brutus To Englewood Animal Hospital to be neutered & for dental work. We were so impressed with the Vet, Dr Chris & all his staff, who were all really helpful & friendly & clearly genuine dog lovers. We received great service from them & Brutus went on to to recover well with no problems. Englewood Animal Hospital is one of the very few veterinary practices in the area who actually work with rescues to provide low cost neutering/spaying & this says a lot to me about Dr Chris & his practice. Brought our cat, destiny, in about two weeks ago. With the holidays coming up money is a bit tight, and they were very understanding to that. The first exam itself, in any situation, was free, which is what first made us decide to go here. We live about a half hour away, and we thought for sure we wouldn't be able to make it in time, we made it, just barely, and were still able to been seen despite it being now past closing time! The staff was amazing, and extremely nice. The vet informed us as to what was going on with her, and what the treatments were. He was just as nice as the rest of the staff. I have been going to Englewood Animal Hospital for years. Previously with other dogs but, now with my pug. My dog loves Dr. Chris so very much. He is so efficient, always willing to listen and very reassuring when your dog needs care. They truly are there for you no matter the day or time. Recently, my dog was experiencing a collapsed trache over the holiday weekend. I knew they were not open so, I took him to the Emergency Vet to have him seen. After 2 days, he did not seem better, I wrote an email to The Englewood Animal Hospital to tell them what was going on. To my surprise Siobhan (Practice Manager) called me immediately, in the middle of her holiday. She told me to up the medication I had received from Emergency and I did. She told me to have my dog at the office the following day after the holiday. I took him in, he was so much better I could not believe it. The prices are always reasonable, and the vet is always attentive, taking the time to understand the situation and devise a comprehensive plan of action. Recently, my dog Socrates became quite ill and had cancer in his paw. When it came time to make the decision that it was best for him to go to doggy heaven, the entire staff was supportive. I felt comfortable with the decision that I had to make and was allowed as much private time with my dog as I needed. It made a very difficult experience much easier. Everyone at EAH treats our dogs as though they are family. It is a great feeling to know that when your are there your dog's health is their number one priority. We also do Greyhound adoption and they work with us to provide excellent vetting before adoption and help to keep our costs down. We drive by many vet clinics to get here. Worst place in the sarasota and charlotte co area!!!!!!!! The woman dr ass or whatever she is with the dark hair and skin with a huge attitude problem has ruined this place since the older owner left, she has no customer service, has a THE WORST attitude I have ever seen and I'm from detroit. We have 3 service dogs in my family and a pet and all of them will NEVER come back here again only because of this one person it's extremely sad when you and your animals have been coming here for at least 10 years ! I've been going to Englewood Animal Hospital since the 70's. Loved the place. Don't like the new people that work there. The examination rooms were dirty. They say examine is free, but changed me $20 for fecal exam that I had to bring back(out door cat, good luck with that). If you need meds or flea meds they tell you to go online and buy them. Went to Lemon Bay Animal Hospital for flea meds was in and out in less then 5 minutes. You lost a customer and a $100 today. Read Less

When I moved to North Port, I looked long and hard for a competent vet who took a holistic approach, respected me as a client and as a fellow professional in the animal field, and would give the same level of care and respect to my dog training clients. After being disappointed with several local vets, I found everything I was looking for just up the road at Englewood Animal Hospital. I found excellent customer service, compassionate staff, an attentive and knowledgable practice manager, and excellent vets. Their prices are far below any of their competition and they give back to their community through their foundation and work with local rescue groups. I have since relocated my family and business nearly 2 hours away but I still bring my personal and foster dogs to see the practice I trust the most and, along with every other EAH client, I have Dr. G's personal phone number in case of an emergency or after hours question. Even with the drive, I save money and can keep my personal costs and adoption fees low. I can refer clients and friends there with confidence and know that when an EAH client adopts a dog from me, they will be well cared for and loved by their owners and their vets. Our 14 year old dog was having problems walking when I the hospital, they told me to come in later that day, even though I had to wait, Dr Chris diagnosed it as vertigo and after treatment she fine. I left my cherished cat for a routine procedure. Dr. Chris was to "mildly sedate" her for a simple biopsy of a suspicious rash on her belly.An hour later the "Doctor" called to say he had lost her. She also was represented that my dog would "probably" have to be under anesthesia for X-rays and strongly urged the xtra inflated fee. This was opposite of the vets opinion. Always friendly..our dog is NEVER tramatized when picking up from boarding or care..I feel they take their time and treat each dog or cat special which any owner will recognize immed and know how they will be treated. Their will always be a wait time if there is an emergency they have to handle..and computers as we all know can sometimes be slow. Plan accordingly..have patience and know at least on our end anyway your pets will be taken care of and you don't have to worry.. That's the most important issue.. They have been treating my dogs with quality care for 2 years. Staff is very friendly. Veterinarians are great. Sometimes they can be very busy there, but i have noticed big improvements there lately. I brought one of my dogs there just after they have closed one day for emergency surgery, and everyone stayed late for us and took care of my dog. Not any animal hospital would have done that and i really appreciate that they were abke to save my dog that day. Our vet is at EAH. We have been taking our dog to this hospital ever since he was a puppy. Its a full service animal hospital. My dog received all of its vaccinations here as well as laser ear cropping. Staff is sympathetic to the less fortnate animals and the facillity is very clean. Read Less

Englewood Animal Hospital:Horrible, Unethical, Liars to sum it up properlyTook 1 yr. old male cat for LASER declaw because he was fullsize and BLADE declaw is not good for fullsize cats.At pickup next day got charged for bladed declaw price.. REDFLAG.. asked why.. stated billing mistake and paid full LASER price.Took 45 minutes to get my cat to front and then female doctor pulls me in exam room. Stated it looked like he got the LASER to her, but the cat chewed on his paw and bleed alot so it took so long because they had to clean him up.. Went home worried about him, and further examined him at home to find all the toe pads to be bloody and tips cut off. This is something thatisn't suppose to happen with LASER! Called to talk to Doctor ROBERT who did the surgery, no go.. he wasn't in until next week monday.. Spent all rest of week and weekend watching catcarefully and comforting him because of the obviously HUGE amount of pain he was in.Called monday morning, finally got call back from him at 5pm. Stated that he did do the BLADED procedure because LASER crapped out. Not only is that unethical of a doctor to assume a patient will be fine with whatever procedure they feel like doing it is ILLEGAL. He asked to see cat next day to make sure he was ok.. went first thing in morning, doc bob spent 2 seconds looking at cat and 5 minutes trying to negotiate a refund for me!! refunded upcharge of LASER (obviously should be refunded) and another 30 bucks out of the 100 bill for troubles.. I dont' care about the $$ but the 30 refundis a slap in the face after the fact.. DO NOT GO THERE EVER.. WHAT A JOKE OF A BUSINESS !! Read Less
