For a couple of years I've been going to Lemon Bay because it is convenient to where I live I liked the vet.  Now that vet has left and what is left is that it is convenient to where I live - and the stuff I don't like.  The staff can be friendly but mostly they give a strong impression of people who are just not happy - or maybe not happy with their job.  And heaven forbid you express concern about something, they become extremely defensive.  How they can refuse to take responsibility for a mistake they just made right in front of your eyes me beyond me, but it basically doesn't matter what your concern is - either it's not a problem or it's not their fault.  What ever happened to just saying "I'm sorry."?  For the time being I'm still going there, but I'm looking for a new place. A little disappointed in staff at front desk. Left a voice message one day In early afternoon to make an appointment but never received a call back. Next morning, called twice only to have no one to answer phone again. Out of frustration, I just brought my dog to clinic only to have people at front desk deny having any voice messages and asking me what time I called this morning, which was AFTER office opened at 7:30AM. Lindsey, the Vet Tech was incredible and apologized several times for my bad experience with the front desk staff. Dr. Belliveau (sp?), as always, was excellent and very caring for my dogs needs. I will continue to go to Lemon Bay Animal Hospital but think that the front desk staff needs a little “tune-up”. Read Less

Thank you Dr. Gurland and Casia (Vet Tech.) for taking care of my cat Archie. I took him to a different vet to be groomed and he died on the table from receiving too much gas. Fortunately they revived him but he cannot walk or see. The doctor also said he might have brain damage as well from lack of oxygen.  So my husband and I took him to Dr. Gurland to see what Archie's future looked like. Should we put him to sleep or can something be done about his problems. We were told that he just needed time to heal and that some of his problems could disappear in time. So I got to bring my boy home and am hoping that he will get better. The doctor and his assistant (Casia) were wonderful and caring. We came in as an emergency and the staff took good care of us and Archie. I can't say thank you enough. I thought we were going to lose him. I would highly recommend Lemon Bay Animal Hospital. We have 4 dogs that we take to Lemon Bay, the staff and doctors are all professional and provide great service. The wait times are kept to a minimum and the whole animal hospital is a pleasant place for both you and your pets. I rated at a 5 stars which is something I seldom do. Read Less

My cat Vincent was horribly sick not eating for 7 days and throwing up. Went to Dr. Paul on a Fri morn appt and by noon he was operating on my cats blocked intestines and Sat. afternoon he was home. Since when do you administer a pain medication for POST operation Simbadol, to a cat that only has an inflamed butt he did NOT have an operation? And when was it alright to administer Convenia to a cat when he is currently on Atopica. This cat has had ADVERSE REACTIONS to these drugs...He has been awake running around the house like he is having hallucinations for 48 hours + plus his hearing is real acute, he eats likes its his last meal but is not going to the bathroom. The original problem was the thought of crystals but he did not have crystals. The vet said he had a little inflammation. I tried calling the animal hospital several times today Thursday Sep 1 2016 and I got no answer. I am not bringing him back in, he is too screwed up. This lady vet has really screwed up my 10 year old cat. The vet is Laura Morelli. my old vet would NOT have done this to Omen, where is the vet Christy Baran? I dont know if my cat is going to survive this. He can not sleep, he can not poop and he is jumping at every sound. LEMON BAY HOSPITAL where is the veternarian Christy Baran? Finally a vet that is skilled and knowledgeable. ...as well as kind, patient and understanding ...and the staff too! Wish I had taken my Buster kitty here back in March when he first started getting sick instead of the other place!! Good group of folks here. Courteous, understanding and polite. I've been there a couple of times, never waited longer than Five minutes or so. Doctors took time to explain everything in detail when I didn't understand something. The full staff from the receptionist to all the doctors were excellent. There saw me immediately the doctors were very professional and very pleasant, kind. The staff was so sweet. Caring, compassionate doctors and staff. This is the first vets office where it is obvious they all care about you and your pet. The office is immaculate no matter what time of day it is. If you were blindfolded going in, took a deep breath, you would have no clue there were animals in the building. Thank you all. My super feisty parrot developed an eye infection so we brought him in. I had nightmares picturing how this appointment was going to go!! The vet was beyond amazing! He was able to handle my crazy bird and taught me tricks for being able to do the meds at home. Our bird is so much happier now, and we will be going back there for any future visits!! Read Less

Very clean facility with caring attentive staff.My dog pooped on the floor (he was pretty scared, lol) and they gladly picked it up and used it for his exam!   I was so embarrassed so I tried immediately to pick it up but they were on it and insisted that it was no biggie for them to clean the floor.Excellent veterinary care. LOVE~LOVE~LOVEKind and caring facility that is clean and well organized. Vets and staff are so kind and sweet. I was so worried that we would not find a vet that would compare to our previous vet in Massachusetts. I was wrong. Thank goodness!  We lost our senior boy before Christmas and were so upset. The staff here is the greatest. We started bringing our female Westy there a year and a half ago and they have taken excellent care of her. My dog Tootsie Bear and my parrotlet Cielo have both been treated here (sometimes in an emergency situation).  The doctors and staff here are outstanding caring professionals who are also very friendly.  The facility is quite nice and I never question leaving my pet here for treatment.  I have lived in several different states and other areas of SW Florida and I must say this is the only Animal Hospital I would award 5 stars.
