I have taken a series of cats to Estero Animal Hospital for the entire 17 years I have lived in this area, beginning in their original location in the Albertson's Plaza.  They are the best vets I have ever encountered anywhere in this country, 50 years of owning cats.  Dr. Kirk is so calm, gentle, empathic, extremely knowledgeable and on top of any new treatments as they come available. I never feel rushed during my appointments.  I recently saw Dr. Kelly when Dr. Kirk was unavailable, and was impressed with her.  The staff are wonderful and very caring and extremely organized even on the most hectic of days.  Beth Gevry always goes the extra mile to answer questions and concerns and is very knowlegeable.  Andrea is cool, calm and collected on the front desk.  I wish I could remember the names of all the staff - they are all exceptional.  The facility is always immaculate.  I just cannot say enough good things about this entire organization.   I highly recommend Estero Animal Hospital Read Less

I agree with the other posters that our Frenchie feels like his is going to a dog birthday party! We typically see Dr.Sherri; Dr. Kelly; Dr. Mark; and recently Dr. Larry (Frenchies can be frequent flyers). From the awesome, organized front office staff; the warm and friendly techs; to the caring; expert vets, Estero Animal Hospital covers it all. There are several times they recommend natural or non invasive treatments keeping expense in mind. They are extremely busy so make appointments and keep them! As a first time dog mom I am extremely nervous about vets. I went to 2 different vets until I found the Estero Animal Hospital, they are the absolute best. My dog is a rescue, he has a lot of health issues and they are the only vets office I trust. We have for rescue animals and Dr Mark has taken care of each of them with expertise, care and great consideration for our animals and us. We just moved to the area with our two dogs, a nine year old lab mix and a 4 year old chihuahua, both rescues. The lab mix was acting lethargic and was scratching her ear. After a few days it got worse and began to smell.We decided on the Estero Pet Hospital from a recommendation. Upon entering, the facility was clean and well laid out. The receptionist was very friendly. Once we completed our paperwork, we were greeted by the vet tech, Emily. She was kind, sweet to our dog and explained everything she was doing and what was going to be done. We were then greeted by the veterinarian, Dr. Jen. She was absolutely amazing. Very caring and attentive to our sick pup. She explained everything in detail and answered all our questions. I couldn't have asked for a better vet. Vet Larry Scrabis is probably the kindest most caring man we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. He was our bunny’s vet throughout the last 5 years of her life and was there when we had to put her to sleep due to increasingly painful health issues. He provided excellent & professional care in a way that felt as comfortable and trustworthy as if we were family. His love for each animal life and care for their wellbeing is outstanding. This was hard. My cat is a patient there. We called at 8am b/c my 14 year old cat was in severe pain and we were looking for someone who could come to the house to help us by putting her down b/c we didn’t want to move her and make it worse and we could tell this was the end. Your receptionist didn’t know if a house call was possible and needed to defer the question to Beth. 2 hours later, still no call back from Beth. I called the hospital again only to be told by Beth that house calls weren’t something they do and she would “hate to make us wait until tomorrow or next week” so she wanted to give us a referral. Seriously? I tell you my cat is dying and you don’t want to make us wait until next week? That made no sense and was hurtful to me. She also looked up our records and reminded me that I hadn’t brought my cat in in awhile. Um, again, I’m telling you the cat is dying and I need help. How is the timing of our last appointment even relevant at this time? Does that make us less of a patient? If I had brought her in last week would you have come to my house to help? It’s just upsetting. Your front desk staff needs to be aware of what your capabilities are so when someone calls in with an emergency, they can point the person in the right direction from the get go. This was my first experience with having to euthanize a beloved animal. It’s fine if you can’t provide a service, just make sure the people answering the phones understand your limitations so your patients aren’t wasting time. In the end we were able to find a great vet who was available to come to the house and help us quickly. I hate giving bad reviews. Hate it. This was a BIG DEAL for me. We were patients there. My heart was breaking. I laid on the floor as close to my Sweet girl as she would let me for 2 hours while I waited for you to call me back. I didn’t know what to do. When our hearts have healed and we welcome a new pet to our family I’m not sure I will be bringing them to Estero Animal Hospital for service. Even the doctor you referred me to who couldn’t get to us until 2pm (I found someone who could come sooner and had called them back to cancel) called me back to confirm that we had in fact found someone and offered her condolences. Everyone is so very kind and welcoming!  When I've had a weepy visit due to concern for my senior dog Dixie, I remember how caring Lisa was at the front desk.  The last visit though, Dixie is doing good thankfully!  Calls are returned so fast, as are emails with Beth and repeat prescriptions handled so efficiently.  Dr Kirk whom we nearly always see, and Dr Larry are both fantastic with Dixie and always remember her, we can't speak highly enough for the care they give her. A day after arriving in Estero for the season my husband & I realized our ailing yellow lab was unable to tolerate water let alone food. I called the hospital & the receptionist with her warm accent voiced total empathy. We had no established relationship with the hospital but this did not deter them. We established a time for our "quality of life" assessment.Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind & empathetic. With each level of assessment & care, I was given time alone with my pet to process my thoughts,her needs &embrace her. I have been to this Vet twice. Once with my American Bulldog and another time with my boxer. Staff has been wonderful and I feel like they truly care for my dogs. When dogs had issues they tried to save me money as best they could without trying to upsell me with extra tests. Read Less

I came from working at a hospital in rhode island so I always know what to look for and this facility is awesome. It's super clean, the staff was all very nice, and the vet didn't force me to do a bunch of tests and vaccines when he knew I didn't have the money after hurricane Irma. I have been taking my animals to Estero Animal Hospital since 2008 when I got recommendations from neighbors.  Unfortunately, they have had to euthanize three of my dogs since that time.  Each time is very difficult on me, but they were very kind and compassionate.  I now have a new puppy and she has been there several times!  I highly recommend this animal hospital as the staff are all very kind to my animals.Connie Read Less

Just moved here from New York and brought my dog here despite some of the negative reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff at the front desk were very helpful even with non animal questions that I had about the area. They couldn't accommodate boarding my dog during the holidays but provided me with alternative facilities. The veterinarian, I believe his name was Mark was also wonderful. I have been using Estero Animal for the past 2 1/2 yrs. since relocating to Florida. The office staff are very friendly and have always been able to provide me with an appointment in a timely manner. I have had the pleasure of meeting most of the doctors, and they have all been great. My primary care vet for my cats is Dr. Jenn. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable; she is compassionate as well. She takes the time to listen to my concerns and interacts with my cats in a caring professional manner. Took my Maltese over to Estero Animal Hospital for she had an sporadic cough over the weekend. Took a video to show the vet, just in case she didn't cough. Sure enough she didn't cough! So the video came in quite handy! Dr. Mark saw us. He was FANTASTIC. Prior to going to the vet, I had plugged in our dog's symptoms in Google and saw it could be a collapsed trachea. So I was a bit upset. He had a very calming influence--so appreciated. He took x-rays and brought us to the back to show us the collapsed trachea. Explained everything to us on the x-ray. We've had a wonderful experience! The staff are personable and have always been so friendly to our sweet Emma. The doctors have all been patient and knowledgable..I recommend all my friends and family use EAH! My only suggestion would be that after surgery they go over the discharge paperwork with you prior to bringing your pet out to the lobby. It was hard to focus on the instructions I was given with my dog (and other pups) in the lobby. That said, we are so thankful to have a great vet right around the corner! Thank you all!Read Less

I have been with Estero Animal Hospital for over two years. I started with a great group of staff who were hands on and bustling. Between my last visit and my current waiting around I plan on finding another hospital. I'm currently sitting here after calling ahead about my dog being bit. When I went to the front office they said they got no phone call and that they would get me in within 10 minutes. I have been sitting here for a while now with my dog having a bite and bleeding. No one is in here except for me and I am watching three women talk behind the desk and one even having the time to squeegee the windows. Thank you so much. Dr Kirk is worth driving 100 miles for. He is so thorough, kind and patient. And so gentle with our Duncan. If it were not for him we would not have known that Duncan had an enlarged spleen and his advice to remove it "sooner rather than later" was spot on. We are long time multi dog owners and Estero Animal Hospital was the best vet experience ever! We were seeking a second opinion and price for dental surgery for our older pug mix. The entire staff was friendly and efficient. Dr Larry spent time explaining his recommended treatment using a mouth model. His estimate was detailed and substantially more reasonable than our first estimate. Dr Larry personally called with the results and held his estimated price despite additional work required after x rays.  And most importantly Otis is doing great although relegated to soft treats for a while. Drs. Kirk and Larry have helped my dogs in so many ways and have always been knowledgeable and caring in tough situations. They take a conservative approach instead of up-selling you tests you don't need or prescribing things not age appropriate, (I have senior dogs).They also lean toward homeopathic when possible.Their facility is very new and nice and they have the cleanest boarding facility around. We just bought our first puppy and she was sick. Thankfully, we brought her to Dr. Larry. He and the staff here are wonderfully caring. The doctors are well educated, with degrees from university of Florida (a great veterinarian school) and Cornell. We also like that your pet can board here and your vet will be available should they get sick when you are away.Our puppy is back to great health. We have been been bringing our two babies toy poodles Sophie and Tyler to EAH for  about seven years ... from even before they built that lovely facility on Corkscrew ...We have relied on EAH for annual check-ups, exams when the pups may not feel so good, and we have used their boarding facility many times ...I bet as EAH has replied to those few bad reviews that those folks either misplaced their reviews or were confused with another location because ... In all these years all the staff at EAH have been nothing but professional and caring.In regards to the boarding ... we have used other facilities in the area and have found that when we board at EAH our babies come back nice and clean and well taken care of ... we can go away knowing our pups are in good hands and if there is a need for medical treatment, they are already at the vet .... the only downside is that you cannot pick up on Sundays - but thats okay EAH ... Estero Eddie, my Chihuahua, is unfortunately blessed with periodontal (gum) disease.Dr. Marc performed cleaning and extraction in 2012, and again yesterday, which requires a medically induced nap for my baby.They obviously know how much their patients mean to them and their pet parents! He was so kind to explain the procedure again, and then called me the minute it was over, to say my little guy was recuperating. It's nice to know you're not just a number! I have been taking my two little K-9 girls here for more than two years since I moved to the area. In that time, I have had the opportunity to see almost every vet in the practice. My experience has been the following: 1) I have found these folks to have tremendous expertise in caring for my doggies. The are all excellent, professional, kind, caring, compassionate, and are sensitive to and supportive of my love and closeness with these, "my children!! 2) Of all of the vets, I have seen Dr. Marc the most (with Dr. Larry and Dr. Jen running second!) . They are all wonderful to both of these doggies and to me! I feel like Dr. Marc knows both of my doggies from top to bottom and back. Part of that is his training, but I always feel that I get a specialized visit because you can see that he just cares so much about how they are feeling and what to do to make them better. In addition, he seems genuinely concerned of how I am doing with how the doggies are doing! Finally, I think that he is able to "read between the lines" exceptionally well because even tho they can't tell him what is wrong, he knows the research and pairs that with having a sixth sense of sorts to diagnose and treat them. He often calls me after a day or so to check on them - again - he really cares and wants the outcome the very best that it can be! 3) The best highest trained, bright and gentle vet. technicians and office staff can be found at this clinic/hospital. They are professional, kind, caring, and provide assistance on every single level and way. It is scary when you move or visit a new area with your pet - esp. if yours is your child as mine are. First time going there this week. Brought my 2 new Chihuahua puppies there for their final booster shots. The tech was super nice & helpful. We saw Dr. Larry, he was very kind & very thorough. He did not rush thru the appt, in fact he took a seat while in there! He was gentle and loving to my Babies and I think the main thing I truly appreciated was that he asked me a few times.......do you have any other questions or concerns? Most docs, (whether for animals or humans) hesitate to ask that because it could mean more time with the patient. I've heard great things about this beautiful place and it all seems to be true!! I also felt they help to save you money than throw in unnecessary things your pet may not need nor prescribe the most expensive flea & heart worm prevention!! We give them 2 dewclaws up!!!!! Read Less
