We live out in the boonies and had a late night emergency. We took our Riki to our vet but they weren't able to keep him overnight due to another situation. We called a few of the local ER vets and where quoted outrageous numbers. We finally got to FVR and they're quote was reasonable. We drove an hour to take him there and it was the best decision we have made for his care. Every aspect of it was amazing. The staff was friendly and caring and took the time to answer any concerns or questions. They allowed us to come visit him and made sure he and I were comfortable. I was amazed with their friendliness. Thank you so much for taking care of our boy and getting him back up to top notch health. I went here for my 15yr old Min Pin that has several issues. My normal vet just wasn't educated enough to deal with all her ailments. I went here after being told no further recommendations for treating her was proposed by my vet.... (lack of expertise) as well as they have drained me in thousands the last few months treating it all wrong! I called and was met with polite, patient staff with each of my calls before visiting. I took a chance to get a 2nd and final recommendation. I came in and immediately was taken in a room to try and not to upset her any further. Their whole team was immediately attentive. Listen to our concerns! Dr. Joshua Parra came in and did a complete check up, and recommendations. He listen and was so thorough!! he spent almost 2hrs with us! He went thru all her issues 1 by 1 and made sure we understood where we are in her health. It was a lil expensive but was straight forward with that in beginning and offered alternative places to get medicine cheaper. Gave a estimate before going forward. I really appreciate all the time and effort they put in to us! I feel now I can go forward knowing I got her the right care and did everything possible to make her outcome the best it could he considering, and the least suffering. It was such a relief knowing we were in good hands and with a compassionate vet!! Dr. Parra and the staff were awesome! Thank you!!! one suggestion would be, I did not receive a follow up call from anybody there, I was very surprised!! that's why the 4 star instead of 5. (it was the weekend before xmas, but still should of received a follow up call) But that won't deter me, it was a relief knowing my baby was seen by a competent and educated staff! Read Less

I have been going to this veterinary clinic for over two years now. My pet was diagnosed with cancer and DR. Kraits is the best in town. She is very thorough, understanding and knowledgeable. I am blessed to have found her. Hands down, they have some AWESOME staff members here.Dustin is always wearing a smile and is very helpful (no matter how busy he is). I can't remember the other staffs names but 98% of them are always bring their A game.They are expensive but do a good job. I would recommend this clinic to a friend. Read Less

We brought our dog here for an emergency abdominal ultrasound. They were extremely accommodating, understanding and courteous. The visit with this vet was great from walking in to leaving. The entire staff genuinely cares!! Well over 2 hours were spent with technicians and doctor and all questions were answered. Unfortunately the ultrasound found that our dog had no hope and she was extremely peacefully and carefully put to her final rest at this same establishment a little more than a day later. After a grooming mistake that left my labradoodle puppy with the tip of her tail cut off, I was referred to Dr. Baez to fix things. The care and compassion that he and his entire staff had for our puppy and what she had to endure was beyond exceptional. I will forever be grateful to this team of professionals who worked with us almost daily for five weeks to make sure that our Charlie recovered fully. I cannot tell you how special these truly compassionate people really are! Very thorough on explaining every detail, answering every question and always ended with "do you have any other questions" "don't hesitate to call us"!! While my Scarlett was in for kidney failure I was told to call ANYTIME to check on her! I did!! At 2:00 am in the morning, Grace answered the phone as if she knew I was calling! Bright! Pleasant! And more than willing to tell me how Scarlett was doing!! Dr Bast, Dr Fernandez called me every morning to give me an update!! All of the technicians and office staff just as amazing! Do not think twice about taking you most beloved family of fur babies to these wonderful people! You will not regret this decision! On the financial side..... they are very up front about a "low" end cost up to a "high" end cost! Never were we pushed to spend all of the high cost options! I live in Bradenton Fl. It is a 100 mile trip each way, I can personally tell you that it is worth every mile and minute it takes to get there. We have a Golden Retriever named SoCrates who loves everyone at the facility as much as we do. From Jessica and Dustin at the check in desk to Jodi and the rest of the techs in the back to the incredible Dr.s like Dr. Goodrich (our boys Doctor/Surgeon) to Dr. Tucker the ER Doctor who takes video and pictures to send us at 2am of the midnight shift, everyone there treats us and our boy with the utmost respect. I could never thank them enough for all they do for us and our boy. They are always available to us even at 3am on a Sunday. There is not another place I would bring my boy too anywhere. We took our 7 pound dachshund here after he licked/consumed a piece of bufo toad. He was seizing and completely unresponsive. The staff was incredibly nice and took EXCELLENT care of Jake. They even told us both to call as many times as we wanted. By the next morning when we picked him up, he was 100% alert with no brain damage whatsoever. If we ever have any incidents with any of our other pets, this is the first place we will go. It is also the first place we recommend to anyone. On another note, they are certainly an honest group of people because when the veterinarian called us in the morning to let us know we could pick him up and update us, he also informed us of changes to our bill. The veterinarian made sure that the changes were made to actually reduce our bill since Jake wasn't there for a full 24 hours. That showed me everything I needed to know about the characters of the people at this office. Knowing that people would most likely not check the second bill, but still changing it appropriately to reduce the cost is a perfect example of this office as a whole. We owe it to Florida Veterinary Referral Center for Jake being alive today, and we will forever be grateful for that. Read Less

We've used this facility a few times including treating a cancer-stricken pet, surgery for another pet to remove cancer we caught at stage 1, once to put down a pet, and just today to have one of our Labradors checked out due to worrisome recent events. I must say that this is a facility that you will be glad you found because the folks that work there - all of them from reception to the doctors and everyone in between, are caring and enthusiastic, professional, and pleasant. The care is prompt, efficient, and based on my years of experiences - seemingly spot on. Schuysters! went there to get my cat checked. doctor said she needed a full blood panel, which I agreed to. a day after blood work was done, they called back and wanted an extra $100 for " further extensive testing". I guess the doctor forgot to mention that. nickel and dime place. they'll take advantage of you at every opportunity. disgraceful. this is a negative 5 star rating. or if I'm rating on a scale of 0-100 it's a 0! buyer beware! find a place that cares about your pets not your wallets like Florida veterinary referral clinic. stay away!
