We wanted so much to have this facility work out for us, but a few issues keep popping up that indicate a problem with inter-office communication and a real desire to do what is best for the pet. Two stars are for the couple of really nice people that work there, recognize our frustrations and seem to wish things were different. The worst experience was denying us the anti-seizure medication refill for a blood test bill that was only 2 weeks old. We were told that it was what Dr Jen said to do. Previously we paid up front for those tests so this was a complete surprise. I guess they forgot to charge us that day and held our dog's health in ransom over it. We had been there a couple of years and never stiffed them for anything. We pay our bills on time! Strike one. We had a vacation planned and would need to board our dog. We brought him in to update his shots with anything necessary for boarding. Despite the DPT expiring within a month, they didn't bother with that one. We showed up at the boarder on our way out of town and they couldn't take him for that reason. So back to the vet where we had to walk in and wait to see Dr Jen to get the shot. Thankfully we we're driving and didn't have to catch a flight! We also went ahead with another blood test. Strike two!Almost every other visit is plagued with attempts to sell us things we don't need, especially more blood tests. Today (5/25) was the last straw. We had just had an entire series of blood test done a month before (previous paragraph). Today we asked for a refill on heart-worm medication and were told the dog would need a blood test. After asking about last month's blood work, we were told that it was a failure in the office to "link the results to a reminder." To me it means an office manager needs to be hired or replaced. Strike three! Our doxies have been going to Nassau Veterinary on US17, that's where our beagle will be too. Read Less

Tucker (my dog), my husband and I had to relocate to Georgia and are very saddened to leave such a good vet. It is VERY hard to gain my trust when it comes to properly caring for my little man because i'm obsessed with him! I would do anything in the world for him! Dr. Jen gained my trust immediately when she first saw Tucker. She is very knowledgable and it gave me peace of mind that he was in good hands. Also, I'm not kidding, I believe she genuinely loves what she does! She was the only one in the office one day, working crazy hours, yet she was still smiling! She is so wonderful and Tucker and I will miss her badly! Read Less

We have a 3 year old Boston Terrier named Rockie. Last month we had our first visit to Amelia island vetinary hospital and they were amazing !! Up until now we thought that Rockie didn't like going to the vet because he would get very irritated and extremely aggressive with the staff and doctors at our former animal clinic. Since switching to Amelia island animal hospital Rockie is very calm and comfortable. We give this establishment 5 stars and would highly recommend them. Read Less

I don't recommend this place!! I have a min pin dog and she had an ulcer in her right eye. The vets there game me oral antibiotics and drops to treat the eye witch I later found out was neosporian. I was charged $100 for neosporian. I had to take her a second time cuz her eye was not healing and was charged another $100. I had to take her back again and they charged me again. The last visit was 2 days after the third visit cuz She developed a seizure like tick so I took her back and was told to stop the pain meds but I decided to stop the antibiotics and everything they told me to do and was charged again. i ended up spending $350 and it wasn't until I stopped giving her all meds her eye got better. Also they were running a teeth cleaning special in January for half off but my dog was sick and they wouldn't honor the special for the next month when my dog was healthy enough to have her teeth cleaned. All in all they almost killed my dog and these vets r in it for money not because they care and love animals. I mean $50 for Neosporain ointment with a different name name and $50 for neoisporian eye drops. I gave 5 stars so it shows up. I don't recommend this place at all. Read Less
