I have known and used Dr Sobel since he arrived in South Florida having bought Dr. Dan’s Animal Hospital when Dr. Dan retired about 8/9 years. We have been with him with our two Maltese and when it was time to say goodbye to Shantilly in 2013, he and the staff could not have been more caring and compassionate, as my wife and I were basket cases about giving her up to G-d. Now we have Rocky rounding 3rd with aging ailments and multiple medications to provide quality of his geriatric life- overcoming bladder stones, frequent urination, beginning dementia, enlarged heart, arthritis. Dr. Sobel takes the time to explain, studies up on alternatives and explains the how’s and why’s of treatments for ALL of Rocky’s ailments......but then I ask a lot of questions and do my own research as well. We are giving Rocky a high level of quality of life in his remaining years and he is reacting well to treatments. My dog needed a dental cleaning and a tooth extraction. He had to go under anesthesia for it, which I was nervous about. He is 11 years old. Dr. Stu assured me that he would be just fine. Which he was! They did a great job on his teeth. Very pleased with the outcome. My dog is happy too, hehe. The staff was so sweet and friendly. One of the girls at the counter said my dog was "talking" (barking) a lot after his procedure...which I felt bad about , but she didn't show that it bothered her at all. Bill was supposed to be 15 dollars, but they added on an extra 31 dollars without telling me saying that they did a "medical exam" on my cat, when i was in and out in 2 minutes. Total scammers and liars. STAY AWAY FROM THIS VET HE WILL SCAM YOU. Read Less

Have been going to Dr Sobol for years! He took.care of our first dog who passed from a tumor. He guided me through every step so she would not suffer. He told me when it would be time I would know and told me what to look for in her. He was right! He now takes care of both my dogs and ! He is honest fair priced,has compassion , if he doesn't know something he will find out not just say anything. Had a problem with one of my babies this morning they fit me in. Of course it's a Saturday and called and asked what to do if the bandage comes off because I would not go to any emergency place unless it was life threatening. I LOVE Dr. Sobol and Dr. Markley. I live in Sunrise but I hoof it all the way to Southwest Ranches off Griffin Rd and i75 just because of how good Dr. Sobol and Dr Markley are with the animals. They treat them with care and respect. I've been going here for three years now after the veterinarian I was taking my dog to previously misdiagnosed my dog with cancer and wanted to put him down without even doing testing to check it out. They are responsive and call back immediately if you need anything. If your pet is in for any reason aside from the annual shots, they call the next day or two to check on them and see how they're doing. My previous vet never did that! They actually CARE about their patients here. You won't find a better vet office than here. I won't take my pets anywhere else! Read Less

I took my dog and my cat a couple of times to Dr. Dan, the vet who previously owned this business. He was kind and gentle with my pets.  I knew I could respect his opinions and recommendations. His staff were warm and friendly people who babied my dog when I boarded him there. I used the groomer regularly and was very pleased with her services.Then came Dr. Sobel. I met him shortly after he bought the practice, and I was just so unimpressed with him. I found him to be cold and very impersonal. He's all business and quite money oriented. I just didn't sense any love for animals or people when speaking with him. I never used his services after my initial interaction with him, which is such a shame. Dr Sobol is a wonderful veterinarian. He actually interacts and explains any issues with his patients and owners. His staff are so friendly and accommodating. We adopted a puppy and his first vet was at this clininc. We ask for a full physical on her, however they ut vaccines and at the end he found a little scar on her face and said it could be mange or maybe just a bite for house roughing with her siblings. I get angry at myself for not pushing him to do it. Instead I follow his advise to monitor it. We kept going back and forth until of the sudden she lost all her hair and her health decreased it turned out she had an extreme case of mange , it could had made a big difference if he had the suspicion about it he had done the test....We were naive to follow his advise and we spent so much money going in and out of his office finally we decide to switch vets and Our new vet help our dog's recovery really fast.The staff is really nice and the doctor as well; but either he had not the experience or he knew it was mange and let i go far to kept us spending money at his office.He even mentioned to keep at the back of our head our pup might not make it and the next step of antibiotics was a dip bath, when i did research everyone else recommends this as a very last resource.Our new vet laugh it off and said only inexperienced so call vets recommend that, now a days there are so many things to do before a dip bath!Of course we are not going back and would not recommend them Read Less
