The physician is nice but honestly it’s so so expensive. I ended up with a bill of close to 1000$ for a regular check up of a newly adopted dog. When I looked at the break down, a single blood pressure measurement was charged as 65$, and I was self pay. I wish they had better prices. Read Less

My wife and I have been bringing our dog Maui to this doctor for many many years like seven to be exact. she is a beautiful pitbull with a brain of a very very smart person and I must say she's smarter than most. we will only bring our dog to this doctor because she's loving and it shows when she walks into the room. Other vets are nowhere near as caring about their clients. The customer service and follow ups are terrific. I strongly suggest this vets office. The only veterinarian I have ever worked for that actually cares more about the patients health and happiness more than anything else. Dr. Jodi and the staff here have been amazing to me and my dog, Toby. They have squeezed him in twice in a week on an emergency basis. Today he got stung by a bee and they saw him immediately. Now I have a $2000 bill, no real explanation about what happened, and no dog. I've been called repeatedly by Dr Thannum and/or her receptionist for the last week about payment, and I was not even given an invoice. I didn't even know what I was being charged for until I asked to see a detail of charges. Everyone says don't pay the money, the dr should take some responsibility, get an attorney, etc. I mailed a check for the full amount because I'm just ready to put this horrible experience behind me. My dog was my baby, and I can honestly say this has been the worst ordeal I've ever had to go through!!! Read Less

Mini Me has been a huge part of my girlfriends happiness for the last 12 years, as well I feel like his dad over the 6 years he has been in my life. He has a routine of meeting me at the front door when I get home from a days work. When he started acting different from his typicle behavior both my girlfriend and I knew something was wrong. I found Dr Jody while searching the Internet for a pet doctor for our Mini Me. Talk about hitting a home run at my very first at bat. We chose Extra Care Animal Hospital, the name of the clinic just made each of us feel a little less bummed out that our kitty was sick. I showed up myself and shortly there after I met Doctor J :)....( Dr Jody Thannam) was able to diagnose Mini Me in a short time and provided treatment that has brought the smile back to our whole family. The very next day I received a phone call checking on how Mini was doing........talk about a rare moment. I have never gotten a call from a MD doctor checking on my health or any other vets I have gone to before. There is a big difference between a Vet who loves animals or a vet that is in business to up sell you something that you may not need. If you are in Broward County and you love your pets. I can assure you it's worth the drive from wherever you live. I have been going to ECAH for at least the last 8 years. When my dog Bo was having problems with his heart and arthritis they were able to diagnose and make suggestions to help him get around easier. They were there for him until his last waking moment and then some. Now a little while later Dr. Thannum and the entire staff are dealing with my golden retriever mix puppy. He tends to get nervous in the car unless he knows he is going to see Dr. Thannum or Barkham park. Those are the only two places he runs to the car to go! I love Dr. Thannum and her staff s the best most caring group that I could ever wish to care for my furry children. I've been going to this hospital for years with my pets and they are true professionals. I have no complaint about them at all. They also specialize in exotic animals. I have ferrets and not all vets know how to deal with them. Dr. Rupp now has him own place called Animal House Veterinary Hospital and he is the one that takes care of the ferrets. My 3 yorkies have been patients of Dr. T since they were babies and now they are 6 - 7 years old. I live in Jupiter and travel to Davie because I refuse to have my dogs touched or even seen by another vet. I have to share a great story that just happened last week. I stopped by ECAH and while I was waiting got into a conversation with another person that was in the waiting room. This person was very emotional because apparently she just found out her dog was pregnant when she went into labor a few days ago and the puppies were not coming out over this time period. It seems the puppies had stopped moving so she thought her dog was trying to give birth to still born puppies and was was not doing well either. She took her dog to her vet who would not take care of the dog because she didn't have payment at that time and was told to bring her to the ASPCA but was told they would probably end up putting her to sleep. Anyway, she tried a few veterinarians but to no avail, brought her dog back home because she didn't want to drag her around anymore in her condition. Went back to trying to find someone to help her dog and passed by ECAH. Went in and Dr. T was there and she heard about the what was going on with the dog. Immediately she told the lady to get the dog to her asap and took the dog in for surgery without even working on payment. Dr. T was thinking about the dog above everything...which is as it should be. I called ECAH to find out what happened in the end and it turns out that the dog had three puppies and Dr. T was able to save one of them and the puppy and mom are doing fine. My dog has been going to ECAH since she was born and is no 7 yrs old. They have always taken GREAT care of my baby! This story is just one of the many reasons why I have brought my dog to ECAH and will continue to do so. I highly recommend Extra Care Animal Hospital because they will take good care of your pets. We arrived at Extra Care Animal Hospital on Monday morning after a very upsetting weekend. My husband and I purchased our dog, Charlie, from a breeder in Ocala, Fl. and drove to pick him up on Saturday by Sunday, not realizing Extra Care had emergency service, we were in the Emergency Clinic. The emergency vet took Charlie in the back and when she surfaced she had devastating news...Charlie was gravely ill and wasn't going to make it. Any attempt to save him had a grim outcome and the starting costs were $3600.00. Desperately, I wanted to save the little guy so I was willing to pay. Even though I was willing to pay, the vet told me to take the dog back to the breeder. Reluctantly, I agreed and went home. By Monday morning Charlie couldn't breathe! I called Extra Care and they told me to rush him over. We did. Dr. O and her staff could not have been nicer! They examined Charlie and agreed that he was gravely ill and Dr. O. wasn't sure he'd make the trip back to the breeder. I asked her to work up an estimate for me to hospitalize Charlie and try to help him and when they did I was pleasantly surprised!. We admitted Charlie. Charlie is home and a happy, healthy dog!!!! Charlie's care was exceptional!! The staff was understanding to my anxiety and made me feel comfortable! They called me Monday afternoon with an update and encouraged me to call as much as I felt necessary. I NEVER felt as though I was bothering anyone at the office, which is rare nowadays!! I called at least twice a day and visited everyday. I was allowed to go into the hospital area and sit with Charlie and as he gained strength I was allowed to take him out. I feel this was an important part of his recovery.. as well as the Dr. and staff treating Charlie as one of their own. Thank you Dr. O and staff...everyday that I look at Charlie I thank God and Dr. O and her staff for him. I could not have asked for more from a office!!
