My dog Maxx had a first appointment with Dr. Rosen on May 23, 2018. She did not know us. In going over his record faxed from our old vet, she saw something troubling and ordered xrays. She worked with me on pricing due to income limitations. Long story short, my old guy had advanced cancer in his spleen and enlarged liver. He was end stage. A blow I did not see coming. While we were waiting for the xrays to be read and confirm Lymphoma, we were allowed to stay in the exam room. The girls shut the lights down and let Maxx and I have time alone. They brought in a yoga mat and a warm bath mat for him to lay on instead of the cold floor. We were treated with such genuine kindness, empathy and caring. It touched my heart. I owe them a debt of gratitude. Their kindness helped soften the blow a bit. My constant companion and best friend passed away four days after his diagnosis. I am still reeling from the loss but wanted to pass along how wonderful Dr. Rosen and the entire staff of Family Pet Medical is. Thank you so much for everything you all did for us. Read Less

Been with Dr. Glass & her staff for 8 years, when we got our first rescue dog, a beautiful Maltese.  He was a mess when we got him from Animal Control, ready to be put down, but Dr. Glass fixed him up as good as ever.  A few years later, he threw out a vertebrae & could barely walk.  We were ready to bring him in for surgery, but Dr. Glass did a few sessions of acupuncture, and he's been perfect ever since.  Then, 3 years ago, we rescued another sweet girl bichon/poodle mix with lots of problems, including epilepsy, allergies & stomach problems.  After much experimentation with diet & getting her medications adjusted, she is the picture of health today.  The staff is super friendly, competent & knowledgeable, and always helpful & patient.  They carry a nice selection of treats, foods, & grooming products, all reasonably priced.I highly recommend them if you're looking for a new vet. When my daughter and I first starting going to Sharon Glass, we thought she was great because she exudes a facade of compassion and caring, and maybe she really wants to be; however, I really believe - and I'm not saying this to be cruel - that she has severe psychological problems.  Another commenter mentioned that she shouted at him, and I too experienced this.  Also, and this is really sad for me, she advised euthanasia for several of my cats, and now that I have found the most wonderful vet I've ever had, I truly regret allowing her to kill my cats since I've seen the way in which my new vet would have handled the situations. In addition, one of my cats died in surgery.  Of course, this could happen anywhere, but with all the other issues, it's one more strike against Glass.   At first, I was impressed that she was interested in using alternative remedies.  However, in hindsight, I realize that she didn't know what she was talking about and that her alternative medicine 'cures' were useless and silly.  Several people have commented on her staff and the rude 'little old lady' who is a receptionist.  I complained about this woman to Glass, and she admitted that she knew a lot of people didn't like her, so why in the world does she keep her?  I believe that in Glass's so-called compassionate mode, she collects misfits who work in her office, which in theory is a great thing to do.  But, business-wise, it's a disaster.  Even if I still respected Glass, I wouldn't go there just based on having to deal with the receptionist.Overall, I believe it's really hit or miss with her.  You might go there one day and everything seems to work out fine.  However, go the next day, and it could be disastrous for you and your beloved pet.  It pretty much depends on her disposition on any particular day and the seriousness of your pet's illness or problem.I strongly advise you to seek a vet who has a stable disposition with a proven track record and who is trustworthy with polite and helpful staff.  Considering how much veterinary care costs and how much you care about your animals, why would you want any less? UNFORTUNATELY, when presented with the problems facing my pet, they did not quote me any numbers on all the bloodwork they wanted to do, so when I go to the desk to pay...SURPRISE, $425.00 for a visit/bloodwork/medication...and my cat's phosphorous levels(as well as others) were insanely high. The vet described the levels as "unreadable". So my pet may still have to be euthanized after the rounds of medication, which would be another $70, which I believe they should have recommended. Although I do believe the circumstance wasn't intentional, the act was in VERY poor business practice. Horrifying experience, over medicating upselling to the point of harming patients. I've been seeing this vet for about 7 years and have been happy. but my last visit with Dr. Glick was horrifing. The doctor upsold , over medicated, misdiagnosed, repeated test that had been done in the past while harming my cat in the process. Moses is old and has been through a battery of tests over the past 4 years. Without seeing a specialists it has been impossible to diagnose his skin infections. I went only for a steroid shot for pain relief of head and neck sores. Other then that the cat was fine. I explained this to the doc but it was if it went in one ear and out the other. He immediately wanted to test for mites, even when the test came back negative the doc still ordered a medicated ear pack. Mites have been ruled out long ago at that very office!!! his ears were dirty, that was it. The doc did not explain that a pack is medicated and any side effects or strength of medicine. Also, the doc ordered an antibiotic shot. my cat doesn't do well with medications including antibiotics. But I felt compelled after the doc had performed a skin scrap. I wasn't made aware that he would be scrapping all the scabs off my cats head and neck. I was under the impression it was only for a small area for the mites testing. My cat came back to me with a very bloody face and neck. For this reason I begrudging agreed to the antibiotic shot for my cats now wounded face. The minute we got home I knew something was terribly wrong. one eye was dialated differently then the other and moses was drouling . Moses had to go back a week later for hydration and anti nausea medication to keep him alive. I believe with every ounce of my body that what was done was up selling to increase the bill and or the doc is a pure qwack. He did not listen to me or understand the purpose of my visit even when explained. I ended up with a $450 bill and a sick cat. Thankfully he will pull through but still very weak. I will never go back their again.Read Less

One word to describe Dr. Sharon Glass: BRILLIANTMore words to describe Dr. Glass: Caring, Professional, Extremely Knowledgeable, Compassionate, Loving, Kind, Outstanding, Miracle worker.Anyone who follows my reviews knows that I spare no expense for my Jack Russell Terrier, Marlin who is almost 15 and the love of our lives. He's had several serious health conditions this past year which have required surgeries and hospitalizations, we have gone as far as traveling to Gainesville to have Marlin treated at the University of Florida animal hospital because the Neurologist at our local animal Hospital referred us to UF because the CT Scan they did came back inconclusive and supposedly they have the latest and greatest medical advances and technologies, but even with having Marlin treated at UF for several days everything came back inconclusive again as to why he had rare lesions on his spine and pelvis, he was knuckling on his hind legs, didn't want to walk anymore and lost most of his appetite, their next recommendation was to do exploratory stomach surgery, something we didn't want to put him through since it didn't promise any answers.I took him back to our local hospital after he got worse and they increased his pain medications and put a pain patch on him to pump him with even more pain killers around the clock in addition to the meds they increased, all of this left him completely out of it with no will to walk and constantly whining, I then took him to Dr. Glass for Acupuncture as our last hope, we knew that if this didn't work that it would be time to say goodbye as we value his quality of life.Dr. Glass and her staff were extremely compassionate and kind to me and my little guy, he had the acupuncture on a Friday but he was still pumped with all the drugs and patch the Hospital had given him, he whined most of Friday night so I called Dr. Glass the following day and she said to bring him in. That Saturday morning Dr. Glass really connected with Marlin and told me that in her opinion the drugs from the hospital were making him delirious, she gave him something to calm him down, fed him food and water through a syringe, she removed the pain patch and gave him several injections with vitamins and reviewed the chart from the Hospital and the treatments from UF which had been diagnosed as inconclusive, she then did some research and found a very probable diagnosis for the lesions due to a past condition he had the year before and found that it could be treated with Vitamin D so she gave him a shot of that too. I didn't give him any more drugs that Saturday, and as his little body weaned off the pain killers he was more calm and lively again, I couldn't believe he had finally stopped crying and looked better, by Sunday he was walking on his own again and smiling and more importantly he looked comfortable! Dr. Glass followed up and called us on Monday and I could tell she was genuinely happy to hear that Marlin was doing so much better! She then prescribed some medication which she felt would further help him, which did! He had a healthy appetite again, he was completely off all the Pain Killers and he was walking and resting comfortably! I couldn't believe it!!! Since then we had a few other acupuncture therapies which are definitely helping, and she has also prescribed him tables of Chinese Herbs and Powdered velvet Elk Antlers (all natural). I love that Dr. Glass tries to make the acupuncture therapy as relaxing as possible by playing classical music and keeping Marlin at ease. I know Marlin will not be around forever, but as long as he has a good quality of life we are thrilled he is still with us.I can't say enough good things about Dr. Glass and her practice, she genuinely cares about all her patients, and I found it amazing how she connected with Marlin and was able to root-cause the problem after not 1 but 2 prestigious animal hospitals missed it. Marlin has been off all the drugs for a few weeks now and he is doing great. The nurses at the practice told me they have seen amazing results from paralyzed dogs who are walking again because of the acupuncture therapies, I completely believe it after witnessing Dr. Glass's treatments and results first hand. Also, I am a believer of good nutrition and natural remedies and I love that this is exactly what Dr. Glass preaches, they offer holistic natural foods and natural therapies. Read Less

I would still even go back to the facility, just MAKE SURE YOU RECEIVE A QUOTE ON ANYTHING BEFOREHAND. Read Less

Read Less
