This was my first visit and I must say, I was impressed. Dr. Cox was very thorough and definitely took her time explaining to me about my cat and how a UTI infection and diet are linked. She immediately took care of the issue and I really felt she cared. I have had animals my whole life and have met many different veterinarians, and it is rare when you meet one that really takes the time to explain the process and how to go forward and then really doesn't overcharge. I would say the price was fair, considering it could be a life threatening issue. It was clean, the staff was nice, and I felt very confident with my furry loved one in their hands. Great vet, very understanding even though our dog is a psycho protective nutcase and tried to kill the vet tech when she reached her arm over our kid. He wears a muzzle in public so it was all good but either way they were about as understanding and accommodating as it's possible to be. I recently moved down to Florida and brought a puppy down from Toronto. I had an appointment with Dr. Brandon Cox, and I felt the need to come here to write about how amazing she was. She was super informative and friendly. Took very good care of my Charlie. Knowing I just moved down to Florida, she sat me down to talk about everything I would need to know about having a dog down here that would be different. She even brought out a folder with pictures of poisonous plants to avoid and frogs to watch out for. She explained how fleas are more of a problem down here then up there. I felt she was extremely thorough. She also didn't try to get me to buy this overpriced medicine for my dogs paw and used some of her own and said to only come back if I needed it. Where I know other vets would have told me to buy it right away. All the staff there were super friendly. There was a very comfortable vibe in the office. I went to Victoria park animal hospital when I first came down with him but didn't like it there. I felt my questions were not answered properly there and I felt the appointment was rushed. I just got a way better feeling at Gentle care. I definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a new Vet, and I also highly recommend Dr. Cox although I never met the other two who might be just as great. Read Less

I really liked this place on my first visit. The staff were great! Dr Allen and his assistant were just awesome. The assistant was particularly awesome because he held her and made her feel at ease. My dog Clea desperately needed her teeth cleaned and a few extractions. I love the artwork and the homey feel of this place. The mosaic art is just beautiful!The second visit wasn't as good. The front office staff couldn't find her file, but ended up finding it on their desk after we waited over an hour after our appointment. They did have 2 emergencies, but I would've rather they communicate that with us so we could wait outside and do she could have a walk before surgery. The lobby is super small and it was very crowded. I was happy with the cleaning and extractions by Dr Allen. The reason they get 3 stars is due to the disorganization and I told them to call as soon as she was done. When I hadn't heard from them by 3, I called to make sure she was ok. They said she was ready for pick up. My dog gets very nervous/anxious without me due to social anxiety issues caused by her former owner, so it was important to me to get her in and out as quickly as possible to avoid extra stress. I didn't want to her to have to be in there any longer than she needed to be.Since she was lethargic after the surgery (which I was expecting), I could've walked her prior and waited in my car instead of in the chaotic cramped lobby. Gentle care animal hospital does an amazing job, my German Shepherd does not like her nails being cut whatsoever and gets a little crazy. There are two guys who always do an amazing job with her nails. We also get her shots and they're extremely gentle. They do a lot to live up to their name! Must agree "Gentle Care" does not live up to the name! Completely disappointed and truly never expected to have experienced such indifference with my dog's ailment.  Completely uninterested in his needs!  I was completely shocked that a person by the name of Southerland said there was nothing she could do!  The only option I was given was maybe try to come at the end of the day the following day and pay for an emergency visit!  How awful!  Not to mention no consideration what-so-ever!  Just an awful experience!  Absolutely the worst place to take your dog!  You wait for hours, they office is always mess, people seem to be running around without knowing what to do!  It's not a place I would recommend. Not once, but twice, my dog was manhandled in such a way he become so nervous he pee'd all over the floor. After a few calls and with a very good recommendation, I immediately got an early A.M. appointment not far away and was greeted and my pup was taken care of the same day.  He was treated warmly, as was I.  I received a phone call the very next day to check on my pup, was given a discount, will surely come back! Gentle Care is terrible. I used to take my dogs. I was always concerned that my dogs would be attacked because of how small the waiting room is. Plus the Equipment all seems to be old. An old looking X-ray machine is the last thing one needs to be exposed by. Plus the place is on a busy corner. And there is no place for the patients to go to the bathroom. That is so stupid. So all the neighbors around the place get mad and yell. I recommend to go anyplace but there. Read Less

I have been going to Gentle Care Animal hospital since I moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1995. They have always been very helpful and courteous. They have been there through the good times and the bad with all my pets. A Himalayan, Abyssinian, English Bulldog, Toy Papillon, and 2 American Bulldogs. Dr. Brandon  very successfully removed the extra skin on my English bulldogs eyes so it would stop rolling over. We now breed RagaMuffins. Gentle Care was my Veterinarian several years ago. Due to moving, I was forced to change. Recently, it was time for my Chesapeake Bay Retriever to have his yearly vaccinations. I won't mention the Veterinarian I was going to, they were very nice, but too expensive. I drove over to Gentle Care to find out the cost for his vaccinations. Not only were they much more reasonable, but their staff couldn't have been nicer. I immediately set up the appointment. I highly recommend Gentle Care for all of your pet's needs. We needed to bring our dog in for a little health issue fix. As soon as you walk in the doors your welcomed by a bunch of friendly faces. We were seen right away and we felt extremely comfortable with the staff. We were in and out in no time and felt that the staff for surly took their time with us. Our indoor cat Oliver developed a growth type cyst on his head and grew to size of a grape. Being concerned we sought out a vet. Looking on line for someone in our area we noticed many positive reviews for this animal hospital. Even the "2" out of 30+ that were not positive were insignificant. So we called to make an appointment. Realizing they have three Vets working there was a plus. I called on a Monday and asked for a Thursday afternoon and they accommodated us! Then they asked who we would like to see we said who ever is good with cats. Their response was all of them. We arrived early and was surprised and pleased with the laid back atmosphereand casual feeling. Our appt. was 3:30 and we arrived early. They took us early and filled out a simple form. Our wait for the Dr. Was short and we got a female Vet. Dr. Kerry was her name. The visit with a basiclook over & lance of cyst and trim of back nails was $45!! We are snow birds down here with our ten year old American Eskimo.  Our pup became ill and we picked Gentle Care Vet based on location which was very fortunate based on the care provided. Our vet was of out town and we needed to get our sick cat into see someone immediately per his request. Not only did they fit us in the same day with 2 hours to spare before closing but provided thee most quality care and customer service we have experienced in South Florida in quite some time. We've been a Gentle Care family for years and years. Dr. Cox has been an amazing vet for our little guys and gals. The staff is great, caring, knowledgable and AMAZING when there's been an issue.Our little guy had an ear infection and we called and picked up drops that day. They make time to squeeze us in when our other pup has seizure issues (or any issues, really) and even when Dr. Cox is not there, the other docs are phenomenal. I've been going to this vet off and on for a few years and I used to love it but then I brought my three pit bulls in to get there Trifexis and 3 year rabies shot along with the tags ,I made an appointment and wound up having to wait in the waiting room for 30minutes which I did not mind but then a walk in came in ( which was a non emergency) and the receptionist whispered to the nurse coming to bring me and my pets back that I could wait longer and she could bring the walk in back first ..I then heard the nurse question her and say but these patients have an appointment and she replied with yes but that doesn't matter just take him back first, thankfully the nurse defended that the receptionist was wrong for that a took me back for my appointment, after me and my husband were put into a room the doctor finally came in,I told her I wanted to get the trifexis pill for all my dogs as well as the three year rabies shots and the tags,she said I should split the pill into two so it could last me longer to save me money which I would have considered a nice gesture if it was not based off of appearance,she claimed we looked like we needed to save the money .. Me and my husband are more than financially capable of paying for all my pets medical bills , most of the staff was more interested in my husband being Hispanic and having dreadlocks and how they were cared for then they were in caring for my pets. I did not know a single person when I arrived at this office ,and lastly, I had been to 4 different vets before making an appointment at Gentle Care. This place is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! The people at the front are friendly, the assistants are friendly, the veterinarians are knowledgeable and I bet if I would of stayed till closing, the freaking people that keep that place spotless would be friendly. I've never been more happy with a vet in my life.  I went here on the recommendation of a local friend while in town with my 19 year old cat who started to feel ill.  They got us right in and every person in the clinic we interacted with was kind, professional and clearly an animal lover.  Dr. Cords treated my cat's condition exactly how I wanted and without any prompting:  conservatively and with good clinical judgment.  Every service was called-for, I was given options whenever they were available, everything was explained clearly and nothing was pushed on me.  My cat is feeling better, and to boot, she's been the most relaxed I've seen her at a vet's office which is a pleasant surprise because she can be a handful.  The only thing I don't like is that I don't live here so I can't go to them as my full time vet. I have been using this clinic for over 15 years and have always found the staff to be caring, knowlegeable, and accomodating. After moving to this area and bringing our 12 yr ol Persian cat in for a check up Dr Cox told us it wasnt necessary to vaccinate every year since she didnt go out and has no contact with other cats. That was a switch from the Coral Springs vet who insisted on shots every year. That right there showed me they put the welfare of the animal over making the extra buck. This practice and it's team are beyond terrific and I recommend without reservation.  No question, this team of people have hearts bigger then they are, stay through lunches, work late and care for your fur baby with the same tenderness and concern (or more) than you can imagine.I have brought my 21 year old cat to Gentle Care for nearly 15 years and he has seen every doctor, assistant and animal lover in the place - although most often Dr Cox or Dr Kerry.  Regular visits, emergency visits and the worst day ever when I had to make "the decision" Christmas week.  Dr Kerry's compassion was angelic and comforting.   The genuine feeling of  care receiving a condolence call from Kimberly at the front the day following the loss of my beloved Scottie was and is something that you can't put on. We are new to the Fort Lauderdale area and were looking for a vet. Dr. Cox came highly recommended by a friend.We have an 8 year old mixed breed that has anxiety and fear aggression, so going to the vet is typically not a pleasant experience. At Gentle Care Animal Hospital a good dog goes out the back door when leaving.  Because Gentle Care Animal Hospital does not address the bad dogs or their owners while they are inside waiting to be seen by the Gentle Care Animal Hospital employees.  To me all they seem to care about at Gentle Care Animal Hospital is the money.  Also, when leaving the back door one has no other choice but to go through the dog and cat bathroom...do I need to say anymore about that.  Lastly, for a Vet facility and their grounds one who think there would be grass out in front on their own property for a dog or cat to go to the bathroom.  Not at Gentle Care Animal Hospital just off busy Broward Boulevard in East Fort Lauderdale.  There are cactus plants with very long needles everywhere.  I wonder what the message by that is...I pity the neighbors.And don't get me started on the equipment at Gentle CareAnimal Hospital as it seems likes it has seen better days. We decided to change our vet when our cat wasn't getting any better. Our cat had a persistent cold-- constant snot running from his nose and sneezing more than usual. It lasted months and we were told by both our previous vet and Gentle Care vet that getting rid of it completely would be very hard, to almost impossible. However, Gentle Care must have done something our previous vet hadn't and we are happy to say our cat no longer has a cold! We have switched over our pets to Gentle Care and are so happy we have! We had two 15 year old and sickly cats (one had a very bad skin problem). A friend, who brings her cats there recommended this place. The nearness to Las Olas prevented us going there at first as we thought the care would be overly priced. This was not the case and our vet Dr Coords helped us balance cost-vs-care.Our two cats are gone now, but I believe they got exceptional care here. I do recommend this care center.
