This is the place! Referred to me by my pets' regular vet, I am so relieved to have a competent 24/7 place to go ,centrally located, that is not overpriced. Reception, vet techs, and doctors all very knowledgeable and caring. This is a very busy  office. a steady stream of people and their pets made me realize so much goes on with people's pets after hours. Improvement could be made on follow-up calls and returning calls but other than that, spot onIn all the critical areas.I was there twice and both doctors were truly in the inquiry of what was going on. They weren't already always listening for the diagnosis in their head based on just the symptoms-rather they were asking questions. And there was a real thought process there along with genuine concern.   A treatment plan was worked out that was financially conservative and yet really took on the symptoms and the cause. Each time I was given several options which is really great. And on both occasions when I phoned in ,I was  recommended to come back in with my cat regarding some side effects/ new symptoms (at no charge for the visit.)All of the doctors' uniforms say Blue Pearl so I'm not sure what the relationship is but whatever it is it's working very well. There's even a comfy sofa in the corner and a TV if you have to zone out for a while waiting for your little fur ball. And unless I was hallucinating on that long long night there is a complimentary coffee station. You can feel confident and cared for here. Read Less

You know when you need an emergency vet that things are not good.  I actually dreaded walking in this place as the reviews weren't stellar, my senior cat was desperately ill and my regular vet couldn't fit me in.But even though the end result was not was I was hoping for, this place took a horrible situation and made it bearable and caring.I called before I came and they said to bring my cat in right away.  After a little struggle with finding it (it's tucked away on a side street) I filled out some nominal paperwork and they saw my cat.Dr. Natalie Sastiel was great.  She took down all the information, told me what the charges would be and then did the necessary testing to tell me what I think I already knew, that my 19 year old cat was in chronic kidney failure.  I asked about treatment as we all want our fur babies to be with us as long as we can, but after hearing those and seeing the sad eyes of my cat, I knew I only had one choice and that was to put him out of his pain.  Having been involved in animal welfare for many years, these decisions are never easy but we have to default to what is right for them not us.I could barely sign the paperwork and answer questions about whether I wanted a paw print or ashes as tears rolled down my face, but pets give us unconditional love and count on us to do the right thing when the time comes and return that love no matter how hard it hurts.  When the time came, they let me hold my cat through the entire process, which was so much better than the other times I have had to do this.  And after it was over, they let me take as much time as I needed to grieve my loss. The fees are pretty typical for an emergency vet- $84 to walk in, blood work that was about double the regular cost but the euthanasia cost was  actually in line with a regular vet.  We love our pets so much that the endings always hurt.  But with the caring staff at Lauderdale Veterinary services (I actually think they are part of the BluePearl animal hospital network now) a horrible situation was made just a little bit more bearable.  My thanks go out to the entire team here.  It was appreciated.  I just couldn't tell you that when I was there. Their misdiagnosis almost killed our dog and cost us an extra 9k. Dr. Cannon diagnosed him incorrectly and suggested an unnecessary surgery! The first day we brought our dog in was for an ultrasound, THAT THEY BILLED US FOR AND NEVER DID. If they would have, they would have found the squeaker in his stomach. Instead for 6 days as a paitent and thousands of dollars they insisted he needed brachycephalic surgery. Once my wife had enough of their incompetence she demanded "another" ultrasound where they found the squeaker. What a trying experience for any pet owner to ever go through, they gouged us for 14K when it should have been 5k and put us through the emotional roller coaster ride because of their inept ability as Veterinarians. You people should be ashamed of what you do! Read Less

Amazing place!!! I definitely had nothing but a great experience here from the minute we walked in the door. I had an emergency with my dog, she had a severe allergic reaction where her eyes were swollen shut and lips were swelling. I called beforehand to see if they were open, they were honest about their walk in fee which was $84 - really reasonable compared to a lot of other emergency vet hospitals. As soon as I walked in they took my dog and immediately treated her with allergy and steroid shots. I had two separate staff members follow up with me throughout the process and offer recommendations for treating her afterwards. When having to deal with stressful situations amazing customer service and care makes all the difference. Highly highly recommend this place and all of the staff there from the women at the front desk to the vets and assistants were so amazing! Great energy. Thank you so much for everything!! Read Less

I have never left a review on anything before, but this time I must do to let everyone know how unethical this place is. This place only cares about making money - they don't give a S about our pets, our feelings nor our pocket. I took my Maltese there on Sunday afternoon because she was in super bad shape. As soon as I got there they received us very nicely and took my dog for examination. After a few minutes they came in the room saying my dog had a blood disorder and it was serious. She was going to need to be hospitalized for at least a week. I rapidly asked how much that was going to cost since I didn't spare of much money for that. They said it was going to cost between 6,000 to 7,000 dollars. I refuse all treatments and said I was going to take her home and visit her normal doctor the next morning. They told me that probably my dog was not going to make through the night and my doctor was probably going to send me back there because only they were the only ones that treat cases like that. I was strong enough to say I was ok in waiting and left. Not many people would have done that. They play with your quick spot. They next morning I took her to her doctor and he confirmed the disorder but decided to treat her very differently. 3 days after the at home treatment started and she is almost back to normal. Ask me how much I spent there? 180 dollars. I saved myself 7K dollars and got my dog back. If you need my vets number text me: 404 423-2354. Don't ever go to this place!! They are all about making money!!! They lie to your face and make you feel bad about not having the money to spend there. They don't respect our love for our pets. Do not go there. Read Less

I am so grateful for the care I received by the doc on staff named Wagner.  I came in for a bandage change on my cat, Picasso's broken leg.  Wagner was professional and knowledgable while also managing to make me laugh in the middle of an emotional night.  Although LVS does not have an ortho specialist on staff, Wagner walked me through the process of what comes next and personally texted a few folks he knew that might be able to help - he really went above and beyond to make me feel comforted.  It is because of him that I will be recommending LVS for any emergency room treatments and coming back in the future.  Great people deserve recognition! I brought my dog in on a sunday evening after she had been in a fight with my other dog. They did a fine job of cleaning up a puncture wound on her face and then shaved around one of her upper legs to check for wounds. They told me she had very sensitive skin and it may be a little irritated. She cried through the night. they said only to put Gold Bond powder on it, nothing else. In the light of Monday morning I could see that the area was extremely inflamed and there were clipper marks in her skin. She had a temperature of 104 even though her face wound was doing fine. The clipper marks got pussy before they started to heal after my vet put her on strong antibiotics. When I told them I wanted compensation (my bill was over $500 and another $200 at my vet) they offered me $30 off. I provided them with photos. I was told that if they did nip her with the clippers it was just because the person doing the clipping probably didn't have much experience. Well gee, I thought $500 would get me the EXPERIENCED vet tech. Never again will I step foot in this place. I have posted this review, along with photos of the wounds,on my facebook page to discourage others from using this office. Read Less

I wanted a second opinion on what to do moving forward, and Dr. Bibevski made this incredibly difficult experience a much more manageable one. She was very honest but kind, and did a better job explaining things than the vet that actually saw my dog. I felt prepared and confident in my decisions. Most importantly I felt comforted that the decisions I made were the right ones. I'm really grateful for Dr. Bibevski's sincere concern for my baby and her top notch professionalism. I took my sick cat to them for treatment and they did nothing to help the poor thing. All they were concerned about was rather or not I was qualified to make payment before touching my cat. They took 30 minutes with their vet credit card company trying to figure out rather I’ll get qualified or not while I hold my almost lifeless cat in my hand checking every second if she was still breathing. In the end I got qualified but guess what.... I had to wait until I received the card in the mail. After turning me and my dying cat away they had the audacity to stop me at the door and ask me to pay them $106 for the emergency visit. I got really upset because nothing was resolved and they wasted my time when I could have gone elsewhere to treat my cat. They put up a fight with me demanding payment or else so I paid the fee and end up going to pet supermarket. There I found a group of knowledgeable employees who grabbed my cat the minute I walked into the store and informed me of exactly what was wrong with her and what needed to be done to treat her. This vet ought to be ashamed of themselves, a group of retail employees are more attentive with animals than they are, which is an animal hospital. They sent my baby to die because of a misinformed that was on their part. I was told from the beginning that treatment would take place right away if I got qualified for the credit card. But afterwards the vet credit card company stated that I would have to wait until I received the card in the mail. The doctor did nothing to make up for that mistake because he the one who misinformed me, but instead he simply told me that he could not help me and walked out of the room while my cat struggled to take each of what could have been her last breaths. If that’s not cruel, I don’t know what is. Read Less

Had to have our seventeen-year-old shepherd put down about a week and a half ago. We were told one price over the phone, another before the procedure was done, but there was an even higher price on the invoice. They dragged the euthanization of our Shepard out for over an hour when it did not have to take so long. Paperwork and money could have been taken care of before we went back to have our final moments with her dog, but instead, the cashier repetitively came in and out of the room 7 or 8 times. JUST FOR SIGNATURES AND MONEY EXCHANGE. My husband and I were trying to say goodbye to our dog that I take care of for over a decade and this girl was constantly in and out of the room. In and out. In and out. In and out. In and out. In and out. Very annoying, disrespectful and so very unecessary. We had the euthanization process explained to us 3 times. Very disturbing and drawn-out. Maybe this was done to to legitimize them overcharging us. Our poor shepherd who didn't like vets had to listen and watch the constant interruptions. The only good part of this entire process was the male tech/nurse. He was professional, not fake with his sincerity and sweet. I wish HE was the person who gave our baby the meds that ended his life. After reading the negative reviews I felt compelled to share my wonderful experience! It’s a shame that most people only come on to write reviews when it’s negative. More people need to share when they have great experiences. I want to start by saying THANK YOU to Sal and Dr. Z! I’m in animal rescue, more specifically fostering kittens. A friend of mine reached out to me about a momma stray cat. We brought the momma in on a Saturday and they did testing to make sure the mom was healthy and did an ultrasound. All of this done as a donation to help us out. We found out that the momma wasn’t pregnant but nursing! We later found her babies and have them all together in a foster home. Also they donated a big bag of food to us. I can’t express enough how genuine and caring these people are. I am very thankful for all they did for us! Read Less

My son Nick and I brought our 10 year old AmStaff Tyson to LVS because of severe redness to his eyes . It was late on a Friday night , didn't know what to do or where to take him , but thank God we ended up at LVS. The moment we walked in , Alexandra treated us with attention & within minutes the Vet assistant greeted us in the lobby , knelt to his level and took us all back to one of the rooms . He weighed Tyson, took his vitals and addressed all of us with confidence , care and professionalism . A few minutes after,  Dr. Schenk came in .Tyson greeted her with his wagging tail ( he loves the girls!) and she was very loving with him. She explained what she thought was happening , corneal ulcers , and what the course of treatment would be after she confirmed this with testing ( eye stains )  The assistant came back in , took Tyson and told us it would be 15 minutes, Tyson is in good hands . Within 5 minutes Tyson was back ..wagging his tail .. and was fitted for a e-cone , and we were shown how to apply the antibiotic eye ointment the dr was prescribing to help . Dr. Schenk then came back in , took the time to explain & to answer all of our questions .. thoroughly without being rushed even though it was almost midnight by now. I can't say enough about the staff that was there . Not only were they professionals at their job (s) , but they were  kind, caring , thorough and compassionate , especially that not only were my son & I scared for Tyson health , but it was the first time there as well . I highly recommend LVS for their staff, cleanliness , organization , professionalism .. truly cant say enough . I'm confident with all Dr.Schenk's staff did for our fur baby . We just took our dogs here tonight after they were "playing" with a frog in the yard. The staff from the second we walked in to the second we walked out the door was very friendly to our dogs, you can tell they truly care about the animals. One of our dogs, who seemed to be a bit more affected by the frog poisoning did need medication and the veterinarian was very honest and upfront with us about cost and why it was recommended for one dog and not the other; and thankfully they did not need to stay overnight. Our other dog has very bad anxiety and usually needs medication before a vet visit, but because it was an emergency there was no time. He was somewhat calm (compared to how he normally is) with everyone he interacted with (he usually barks a lot from being so nervous). The vet tech and veterinarian also informed us that the current anxiety medication prescribed by his regular vet was incorrectly prescribed, as it is not an anxiety medication. If this were a regular veterinary and not only an emergency veterinarian, we would switch our dogs over to LVS in a heartbeat! Thank you so much Dr. Calicchio and to the rest of the staff for being so honest and caring with Luke and Leia! Read Less

Thank you for your response below to my initial review (Deborah Williams). My cat’s issue was resolved by manually manipulating the stool by my referring vet within 2 hours of being removed from your facility. Her health issues your staff claimed they needed to test for (reactive liver, free floating abdomen fluids) were due to the fecal impaction. The fecal impaction should have been addressed immediately once it was clear that there was not a mass blocking manual manipulation. Upon speaking with other members of a rescue I work with, I heard similar stories. I have no problem referring my cat’s case to the State’s regulatory agency. Please forward me the appropriate contact information. The "sizable refund" was NOT a refund for services provided. It was on a deposit left. Since I declined further testing (it certainly was not going towards treatment for fecal impaction) the money was not spent. I am still waiting for the discharge invoice I requested twice. And there were no visible clients in the lobby when my husband picked up my cat. So your "adjunct" client comment is not accurate. The term "specialist" does not equate to honest and quality care. It simply means that you and your vet staff received specialized training in a specific area of veterinary medicine and pass an exam evaluating that skill set. There is no correlation between specialist and honest/quality vet care. * Side note: To your professional curt FB direct message of “Look it up” referencing state agency contact information, I did. Wish I could give 0 stars. This place used my cat as an ATM. All tests were inconclusive and did not benefit treatment of my cat. Every time they called my cat had another health problem the required my diagnostics. She had a fecal impaction that was never removed and resulted in cascading health deterioration, which of course they wanted to run tests on. I pulled her at recommendation of my vet. When my husband picked her up they practically threw her at him. The only reason my cat went to LVS was to treat fecal impaction. Then mysteriously she developed bloody free floating fluids in abdomen, congestive heart failure, liver issues, and anemia. They did not remove feces. Prior to fecal impaction she had no signs of liver or heart disease. All of these failing health issues were brought on by LVS care at the cost of $5000 (which never went to resolving fecal impaction). Use PEC if you have a pet emergency. Run from LVS. Pretty sure all the fab reviews are from employees and friends.*update- my primary vet clinic was able to break up impaction less than 2 hours after I pulled my cat and brought her to my vet. Less than 2 hours! My cat was at LVS for 72 hours and only test, after test was ran with zero results. Talked to several members of rescue I work with to learn of similar experiences. Read Less

RUN FAR AWAY FROM DR. TOCCI. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE UNLESS IT IS THE ONLY OPTION. The first time I took one of my dogs here, the staff and doctors at LVS saved his life after he encountered a Bufo toad. The doctor was wonderful, caring and supportive. I cannot be more thankful for her good work. Unfortunately, this particular doctor is no longer at LVS. LVS is a teaching hospital and this wonderful, caring Vet moved on to another practice out of state. The second time I went here was with my very senior dog. She was very sick so the prognosis was not great and we didn't think she had a good chance of surviving. However, the staff convinced us to make a $3,000 deposit to give them the resources necessary to give her a shot at recovery. We agreed after one of the doctors told us she could clear her lungs, so it was worth a try. After one night in the hospital her prognosis worsened, and my wife and I made the decision to end her pain. The doctor that gave us a rosier prognosis was likely inexperienced and she was not there the next day as she promised us she would be. So, unfortunately, we were assigned to Dr. Tocci. Dr. Tocci was cold, rude and unprofessional from the very beginning. First, she allowed others (through her staff's mistake) to enter the room where we were visiting our pet and we were crying at the time. Next, she put us in another room and was very rude when we asked some basic questions. My dad, a very highly respected anesthesiologist, was with us in that room and asked Dr. Tocci a question about the medicine they were going to use to euthanize our pet. Dr. Tocci looked at him and said, "WHO ARE YOU?!!" First, why would we let any older gentleman who was not related to us in the private room? She was so rude to him and our family. My dad commented that in his 40 years of practice at many major hospitals throughout Texas, Dr. Tocci had one of the worst bedside manners he'd ever seen. Once my pet rested her head on my shoulder she stopped breathing and Dr. Tocci rushed to administer the medication. That was the only good thing she did. I told her to leave the room so we could have privacy. I have had pets all my life and have gone through this difficult process before but never in my life have I experienced such terrible service in the moments that matter most - I wanted to be able to talk to my pet while she passed but instead I was having to tell Dr. Tocci to leave. I am not bitter with LVS. My dog was going to die regardless. It was her time. I am disappointed in LVS' hiring and continued retention of Dr. Tocci. Nothing will bring my pet back. I just hope LVS will prevent Dr. Tocci from making the same mistakes to other families who are letting go of their pet. I cannot say enough bad things about Dr. Tocci. It's really too bad, because LVS is a very clean, overall professional establishment and it has the potential to be the premier provider of emergency vet services in Broward. It has state of the art equipment and facilities. Unfortunately, bad doctors and staff can hinder LVS' reputation. This is evidenced not just by my review, but take a look at the other reviews. I am certainly NOT alone. I am ONE of MANY. We have decided to use a different emergency vet in the future (unless, of course, they hire Dr. Tocci). I won't list which one because this review is not an advertisement, it is instead a critical review of LVS. My last complaint is that it took 1 minute for them to charge my credit card for $3000 and it took 9-10 days and repeated phone calls to get the $1000 refund that I was owed. The staff members who I called gave me conflicting information. One said she didn't need my card number. The other staff member (who was also rude) said she needed it. We won't be returning to LVS and we will RUN FAR AWAY from Dr. Tocci. Read Less

We went somewhere else and thankfully he is cancer free and looks like he is in the best shape of his life. I don't even want to give this Veterinary one star. I recommend that no one take there animal to this location. Find anywhere else before you call them. They are just robbing you of your MONEY and you fall for it because your pet is a family member. There are camera's in all rooms, even the one that has a sofa for the bad news. As soon as I had to get a little nasty to get my pet back from them, they became very rude. My pet was very sick and they charged me double for what another hospital would have charged. I had already taken my pet there came home and then looked this website up. I wish I would have looked at this site first before taking my animal to them Read Less

We had to bring in our dog Lexi due to breathing issues related to her collapsing trachea. The cough was VERY loud, dry, and honking, and she wasn't able to take in a good breath. The triage team came out instantly and took her away to do what was necessary. A nurse took us in and explained what they were doing to her and what they could see with their tests. Shortly a doctor came in and explained how serious her condition was and recommended further tests and treatments. We were given many options and recommendations. The Dr. even had a person give us estimates along the way so we would know our financial obligation. Our Lexi ended up getting better throught the day but had to stay overnight under observation should anything happen. In the morning the Dr. called me to tell me that Lexi was doing even better with the treatment they recommended and that I could take her home. They gave me tons of medicines for her and also what to do in the future to follow up with a specialist. At the end they went over my final bill and I was actually credited back almost $400.00. Now, I would've spend every penny for my Lexi so this was an unexpected surprise. I am beyond grateful to the staff at LVS and we are lucky they are so close! I recommend this practice to EVERYONE!.Read Less

We were referred to LVS and Dr. Cannon by our family vet after X-rays showed a mass in her abdomen. Our initial consult was Wednesday, they operated on Thursday, and she was back home with us late Saturday. From the first hello, every team member of LVS has gone above and beyond to ensure our pup survived to adventure for a bit longer! They're truly available around the clock, and they care for her as though she was their own. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELOVED PET HERE!!!! They are out for your money. Brought my pet over night for emergency care and doctors were pushing for surgery without any X-rays , or anything . We took our pet home for the night and brought him back the following morning and they were all pushing for a $7,000 surgery. The second doctor even told me without the surgery he would only have less than 1% chance to live without surgery . Hysterical I called my fiancé and we went to get a second opinion. My dog went somewhere else and we got better informed about the situation . After MRI , X-rays , and CT he didn't really need surgery after all. If I didn't look for a second opinion my baby would have gone surgery and who knows if he would have made it. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET PLEASE!!!Read Less

I have brought two of my cats there for critical care in the late evening hours. One cat recovered well and one did not (he died of a clot). Both times I was pleased with how the staff effectively triaged my cats. Unfortunately my cat Boreo was barely breathing when we arrived as he suffered a second stroke-- they were upfront and honest and said they couldn't save him. They advised me on burial and other various aspects of terminal pets. Most importantly they put Boreo on pain medication upon arrival so he didn't suffer until his quick passing. With my 16 year old cat with infection they did blood work to find his kidney function was bad and gave him IV Fluids and antibiotics. He is recovering beautifully. They are costly but that is because they are a 24 hour critical care facility. They aren't a regular vet. They handle emergencies all night long for critical pets.Read Less

When Rufus started therapy he was not able to walk or stand... Today- five months later- he is able to walk and run. I have received excellent training for my at home program- and have continued to do weekly appointments with Sal- to continue Rufus' water treadmill and workouts... The Doctors and care are great, but .... watch your bill ! We were double charged for a $435 procedure. I noticed on Wednesday night when we picked up our dog. Front desk person gave us a credit invoice and said the office manager would process in the morning. On Saturday we went in trying to find a missing collar w/license and I asked if our credit card credit had been processed. A different front desk person showed me a different form - a refund request form and asked if I had signed one. No - didn't sign one of these - first I'm seeing it! WHY.... didn't the office manager call us on Thursday about this new form??? IF we hadn't gone in on Saturday, they still wouldn't have issued the credit. Advice ... don't be so happy about getting your pet back that you don't take a long hard look at their bill. Oh - and that missing collar that 2 of their staff people said they didn't have .... it was in their front desk draw - in a sealed bag - with my wife's name and phone number on it all the time.Read Less

Dr. Greenway and the staff here are angels sent from above. Just when my sweet little boy's Life was hanging in the balance from complications after surgery at another veterinary clinic, when that was closed on Sunday, this place not only saved his life but made things so easy for both my boy and myself. Additionally, everyone I met who works here is the crème de la crème... At first I was stressed out that it was a Sunday, I couldn't get to my vet who did the operation and it was Father's Day but in the end I'm so grateful to know about this place and all of the wonderful things they can do for animals... As me and my family are comprised of many humans and many cats, dogs, birds and horses! Suffice it to say, I'd love to come here all the time but then again one doesn't want to have constant emergencies. I do have to admit, I'm way more impressed with them than the place that did the operation on my sweet best friend... So now I'm in the market for another regular vet... But if you have an emergency or any specialty Almands your pad needs looking into, go here, for sure. You will not be disappointed. I am forever grateful. In fact, the doctor gave me a couple of medications for my cat that I knew I needed earlier on the probably would have prevented us having to go to the emergency clinic. I asked the veterinary office that did the operation, when we were discharged, if they would be providing us with painkillers and muscle relaxers to help keep my boy's system stress free during the recovery process and to my surprise I was told no. I have had cats, dogs, birds, and horses for my entire life. I don't have a medical degree but I know almost as much as they do. This is my family we are talking about. Not only that, a receptionist (at the initial clinic that did the operation) discharged us and not the doctor (Who promised he would be there and go over everything with us, which turned out to be a lie) so I won't get into the whole thing any further and spread negativity, but that's enough red flags when your family is at stake. Thank you again Dr. Greenway and the entire staff! Not only were they super professional, efficient, and friendly, they even gave us a refund on some of the services without me having to ask! What a pleasant surprise! When does that happen anymore? Meanwhile I'm thousands of dollars out from the first clinic... Some of the fee made sense but some of it doesn't sit right with me. We are forever grateful.Read Less

Our 6-year-old papillon Romeo was very lethargic, vomited, etc 7pm Thursday. My vet, gentle care, recommend LVS. They saw him immediately. I was crying my eyes out thinking my little dog was going to die because I'm poor. My heart was totally broken! I am eternally grateful to the vet & staff who were wonderful. They all were so kind, patient & understanding. But most of all, they gave us back out sweet Romeo. He still has a bit of follow up & recovery to do but he's still with us & that's all that matters. Rushed our pet in for possible emergency surgery. It's interesting to note that the main waiting room has a camera and most likely microphone, as well as noted in other rooms. Understandable in Emergency care but in the room where your supposed to have private conversations or mourn I find that disgraceful. They can come up with any excuse they want, I fully believe it's to gauge how much they can gouge out of each customer. Milk every penny. My head is still boggled by the numerous numbers and options. I have a good vibe on people and after he stayed over night and we borrowed begged and pleaded to pay for over 1200 in costs for just walking in and some tests (which he had many done at his vet already). The next day I worked on the phone all day to come up with what seemed like a bill that grew by the second. Spoke to the Doctor numerous times. Noticed she seemed to light up when we were close to getting care credit or approval for a loan but when we were told it would take days her attitude changed from helpful to here's the bill which somehow magically changed about 4 times in the span of 15 minutes. I understand there are options but they have seen it all it is is very apparent they care about one thing, not saving your pet. How much they can milk out of you. If you say u can sell you first born to pedophiles they would gladly accept payment. So when all was said and done day #2 and we hit a wall and couldn't cough up any more money until a few days we were given our marching papers. Price suddenly reduced. I made a comment out loud wondering if I was being monitored and it seemed like the Dr.s demeanor changed after my phone conversation to a friend about the cams & mics. I think she also thought I was recording the conversation. What they don't know is I review and write about Dog sites and work for a channel that exposes stuff like this. I can't say more but there will be more to come out of this. I initially bought into their oh so sweet and kind demeanor and I am sure there are some truly great people who work there. One employee sat with us for a bit and really calmly explained everything and seemed to gainly care so you can't blame all the staff and those that have empathy.. Even said we could visit anytime, yet when we came at different times were told and admonished and shamed like children that we were supposed to call and they might be busy. Again understandable but my pet is my family. Try and stop me from seeing him or her. I would rather not say as I am working on a expose & news story about the clinics and how they will tell you it costs what seems like numbers they decide based upon sizing you up. Again, there were some truly caring people there I can feel when someone is genuine. But the main ones, it's a money game and you lose. I would pay anything for my pet but this just instills in me wanting to get out of FL where most people are fake, phonies, or just lost and move to a small town where your neighbors will actually stop by and see how your doing. I grew up here but have seen a shift in attitude and I am sure the grass isn't always greener but there has to be better then the trash here and that doesn't mean people without money it means people with no empathy, character or honesty. I believe a truly caring Vet would do whatever they can and be up front and have some faith that they will get paid somehow someway. One day when I do get money I have coming I would have gladly donated it had they offered any kind of help but it was pay or get out. So before you donate to anything look up the companies on Glassdoor and find out what they are really about. This place is about money, not your family member who you love deeply. They are about the dollar sign. Can't wait for the full expose and report - possible lawsuits for malpractice, fraud, and more. Look forward to seeing the truth about all these places come out. There are good ones but it's finding a needle in a haystack. Again, there were some great staff members but the higher ups called the shots $$$! Read Less

This hospital is dirty and the vets are not trained properly and have an attitude. Our female dog in labor was not watched during her stay at LVS. So three out of the four puppies died and one was left permanently handicapped without limbs. They also neutered the mother dog without asking us first and then trying to charge a few thousand dollars for this procedure. The mother dog and one surviving puppy got E.coli among other infections from this place. LVS refused to transfer the medical records to other local vets so the new vets did not know what had happened or where to start in order to try to save the mother and the new puppy's life. My wife and I brought our Bijon Frisee to this clinic this past Monday July 7th. She is a prized AKC dog with whom we went to great expense and time to breed successfully. She was having an uneventful prenatal course and then to our excitement went into labor Monday morning. She had some unusual discharge so we brought her to this clinic. on evaluation, they stated she was fine and to go home and not to worry. later that day, she gave birth to a stillborn and was very lethargic. we again contacted the clinic over the phone, spoke with a different vet, and they said it wasnt necessary to bring her in. they instructed us to watch her carefully and reassured us that everything would be fine. by that evening we had enough and sensed that the dog was possibly in a state of arrested labour. we rushed her to the emergency room and were met by a Dr. Tocci who proceeded to tell us that we essentially were neglectful and that all the puppies should be presumed dead at this point. horrid bedside manner. she then asked us to sign a contract that would give her permission to charge our credit card a maximum of 600 dollars. she ran a bunch of meaningless tests (did a sepsis workup for what reason???) and an xray which she graphically described as showing only parts of some puppies along with dead puppies and a puppy in breach. she told us she was going to run some other tests and that we should go home and wait for her to call. well, she never contacted us. around 11p we were gravely concerned and contacted the clinic. she had proceeded to administer pitocin to induce labor. the puppy that was breech and presumed dead actually was delivered alive. thereafter a stillborn was delivered. we were told that the puppy delivered alive had a guarded prognosis. she would contact us for further details. again, no one contacted us. we found out early that morning that they had contacted my father in law instead of us at 3a, a man who is going through the throes of stage IVc colon cancer on his 2nd round of chemo and "obtained" permission to pursue surgery. we later found out an emergency hysterectomy was performed rendering this champion breed infertile for the remainder of her life. We never were granted any info regarding the clinical rationale behind this horrific decision making. I believe both malpractice and negligence were committed by both Tocci and the other vets earlier in the day who didn't properly sign out to each other nor provide the proper triage for this animal earlier in the day. now we are broken hearted, and the clinic along with Dr. Tocci has been harrassing both my father in law and my wife and I so she can obtain her $3900 fee for the surgery. Absolutely outrageous and disgusting. Dr. Tocci, you should be ashamed of yourself. We are currently pursuing legal action. Read Less

our 8 week old puppy fell off the bed seemingly hurtting his right paw. We took the puupy to to Lauderdale Veterniary Specialist. Nursing and front desk Staff was courtious and helpful. Then Lynel Tocci the on staff after hours vet came out to see us. She said offered exrays to verify the pup was ok and asked if i was ok with $245.00 for exrays. i said fine. She then showed us the exrays of his right elbow and poited out what she said was a floater in his joint and told us he would need to see the orthopedic suregon in their office tomorrow. Dr Bennett. Lynel Tocci then offered to board our puppy for the night (ofcorse for an additional fee) I said no and she said if he boards he will be guaranteed an appoimtment with Dr. Bennet tomorrow, if not we may have to wait two days for an appointment. I said i will not board him and if the ortho cant see him tomorrow i will find one who can. Mysteriously an appointmnt became available. Lynel Tocci went on to tell us she was not sure what the surgial solution was for this injury. Also advied us not to have our puppy eat after midnight as Dr. Bennet had room in his surgical schedule the next day. Apprximately 375.00 later we left beleving our puppy had sustained a serious injury that would ulyimately need surgery to repair. After our emotions had relaxed both my girfried and i agreed we felt taken advantage of and did not have confidence in what the doctor told us. The next moring we took the puppy to a vet in Boca. the BOca vet look at the exrays from LVS and said they where in adaquate to evaluate the dog because they only show the right elbow. the boca vet took exray of the left elbow. When layed side by side left and right where identical. The bocavet said there is nothing wrong, she removed the splint/bandage form our puppys leg. and he was playing like a puppy ever since. We cancelled the appointment with Dr Bennett. Since we received such opposing diagnososes from the two vets we oppted for a 3rd vets opnion to make sure. The 3rd vet agreed the dog was fine and had nothing wrong. When tell this horrific story about our experiance with LVS we dound one of our friends had a smilar bad experiance with the same Vet at Lynel Tocci. Common sense would say we are not the only 2. At a minimum this vet Lynel is incompetent and the worst she is deviovs, dishonest and praying on people, who love thier pets and will do anything regardless of cost to help then, for her and LVS own selfish financial gain Disguesting!!!!!!!I think my advise would be dont even think about having your pet treated here. Worse place ever. Lauderdale Verterinary Specialists (http://www.lauderdalevet…) and James Cook. I took my dog there for urgent neurological treatment. No exam, no review or access to records sent prior, wrong diagnosis, no communication, promises not kept. Wasted 10 days of valuable time re my pet's health and my own. Never apologized and refused to refund consultation fee. These guys should not be in business. The below is flat out lies as without anything done at all, they tried to scam into buying a totally unnecessary brain MRI for my dog. The cardiologist did not think the dog's symptoms were from a heart problem but from muscle deterioration -- thus neurological. I did not state anything and the below does not accurately reflect anything about my dog's health or what I said -- his symptoms had only been in place for 1-2 months (not years!), proof of phone messages left just fine, and so on, and so on. I asked about polyneuropathy which Dr. James Cook dismissed entirely. As it turned out, I was right about the polyneuropathy diagnosed by another Neurologist. Instead, these guys tried to sell me an entirely unneeded MRI that would have cost thousands and put the dog through hell for no reason, but since they did no exam and asked no diagnostic questions both of which lead to the correct diagnosis and treatment, they had no clue and were clearly just trying to scam me and unconscionably torture my sick dog. I'm happy to provide proof of everything I've posted, just ask. On behalf of all the victims of this place, be sure to read the many filtered Yelp reviews, note that they rig their Facebook page to delete all negative remarks instead of addressing them -- do NOT risk your pet's life! Be sure to file a complaint with the BBB and state licensing board regarding all their misconduct -- they are truely unbelieveable. http://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/pro/vetm/documents/vet_complaint_package.pdf.

Read Less

Tocci. Read Less

Dr. Cannon was insisting we get our dogs glands removed surgically in his neck before knowing what was wrong with him. If we had gone that route he would have died soon after.
