Misdiagnosed my Chihuahua with congestive heart failure, had him on a bunch of expensive meds he didn't need, and were making him sick. Then yelled at me for leaving him with friends while I was on a work trip, and blamed a seizure on that. Thank God we are from MN/WI and took our little guy to a Vet their. He's fine and off all Meds and back to his normal self. Seems like every time we trust someone in FL we get screwed. All about money, anyway someone can get it, or screw you over for it. Even an innocent dog is not safe in FL. Now we have to drive 1600 miles for Vet Care because we don't trust anyone else. Happened twice, other place was nice so I will refrain from naming them. A few days later they called my husband to check on him which was very nice but since we were at our granddaughters graduation he told them he could not talk and why he could not. Never bring your dog or any animal to this animal clinic. My dog has been sick with a licking hematoma for at least a year. In February I started going to this doctors office to have my dog seen paying close to $200 each time and went every two weeks. Until the owner saw my dog at the beginning of April and gave him different medicine and had a fight with the Dr right there in the office. I was told that the next medicine would be free because I had paid so much coming in every two weeks. I just left the doctors office where I was told to leave because they were trying to tell me that I didn’t go see the doctor every two weeks and pay nearly $200 each. So My daughter brings her dog to affordable animal care clinic in Fort Myers, FL because her dog has been loosing weight like crazy. He eats all the time but only loses weight. We had another dog all of a sudden pass away so we wanted to make sure the other wouldn’t get sick and die too. So my daughter and her girlfriend go in the affordable animal care clinic to get their dog help and what what they got, was called names said they were animal a abusers, with absolutely no proof to go on except a very skinny dog, dykes, fat ***ches , held them in the exam room and wouldn’t let them out, pushed and hit them. Told them they needed blood work done and because my daughter couldn’t afford to pay over $150.00 for blood work they refused to help. So here is this dog that needs help and they refuse to help. So they obviously don’t care about animals. If they care about animals like they say why is it that they refuse to help an animal? If they think the dog is too skinny and being abused why didn’t they even weigh the dog? Then we hear that the exact same thing happened last week. But the OWNER yells at customers, pushes the customers, swears at the customers and is more concerned with the sexual preferences of my daughter than helping a dog. I don’t know about most people but I wouldn’t go to that Vet if it was the only one in town. They don’t care about animals they care about the all mighty dollar and their customers sexual preferences. They have a rating of “F” with the better business bureau. And refuse to resolve issues with 5 other complaints the better business bureau has sent to them to respond and try and settle. DON’T USE THIS VET. Pass this on. We took our Labrador in for his yearly checkup. He needed some tests, which we had planned for, and we needed to get him some flea/tick meds. During the visit the veterinarian noticed a slight ear infection. Anyone who has a dog knows that ear infections are fairly common and can be dealt with naturally. Affordable animal care clinic took it upon themselves to inject our dog with near $100 in unnecessary meds without ensuring we could afford them. We have 6 other children and were forced to pay a bill that was substantially higher that needed. If Google allowed for a zero star review that is what I would have left. This worse front desk receptionist I’ve ever encountered with was here, Kristen is a complete disrespectful, loud mouth, ignorant “professional” who works here. By reading the reviews, I see I’m not the only one who had their fair share of disrespect for no apparent reason. We don’t call there to be her punching bag, I’m calling because my pet isn’t feeling well and instead of saying to your coworker, “What a bitch” when I can still hear you shows you hate your job and probably yourself to sit there and lie when I hang up and call back to speak to management and she pretends to be them & continues to insult me. I finally hear another voice in the background and I tell her ten times to let me speak to them I want to speak about the professionalism about this job & when that lady who claims to be management tells me to stop having a meltdown, take a pill to calm my nerves and told me to shut up. She wouldn’t let me say a thing, kept talking over me and told me I had no right to say nothing about professionalism there. I can’t believe these are people at one point I trusted with my pet, absolutely not ever again! All this was because I called asking for my pets medical records and she asked me what do I need them for with this smart attitude. I told her I moved and am changing his vet, he’s really ill and seeing a vet later that day and refused to give them to me for ridiculous excuses that no vet has ever given me and I’ve moved several times with my pets. I have never been so disrespected and than at the end of the conversation she told me to watch myself because she recognized me from earlier that day and I don’t know what pill she’s taking that she’s telling me to take but I wasn’t there earlier that day. I will start out by saying that on the phone, they were very nice and accommodating, however, when I arrived it was a whole other story. The lady (I use that word loosely) named Gina was incredibly rude. After waiting over an hour for the doctor to examine my dog, I asked her how long the process takes, considering I have never been there. Gina stated that she did not allow rude people in her establishment (not sure she owned the place) and I could always leave. At that point, I shut my mouth and didn't engage in any conversation. When I received a return call from the new girl about my dog's surgery, Gina was in the background "barking" at her on what she should say to me. She even referred to me as "the rude girl" that was in earlier. To wrap it up, I was told that I abuse my dog by crating him, allowing him to have periodontal disease and allowing my Goldendoodle to be near him. I guess you get what you pay for, but that day will forever be etched in my mind and needless to say, I will never return. If anything, I have a renewed sense of the Golden Rule. Read Less

If i could give -5 stars I absolutely would! The owner Gina Brashear is the most unprofessional person I have ever encountered and that is saying a lot! Sooo rude...I was appalled that someone like this was even capable of continuing a business...I requested her presence multiple times as she continued to get nasty because I didn't understand med instructions...refused to spend any time with me...never came out of the back room but instead continues yelling on phone speaking through the only tech who was helpful! The other tech Jess was clearly on drugs because she could barely speak correctly...let alone keep eyes open...and this is the worker who the owner relies on so that should tell u enough!! She quoted me the incorrect price and guaranteed it, as I said I was bringing cash...I stated clearly that I wanted nothing extra done! Was very clear with all instructions and they specifically forwarded me to Jess because she was supposed to be knowledgeable...she didn't give me one single correct piece of info and then owner implied i was lying about what was said on call...they Stole my money on unnecessary procedures that were not approved after trying to push me out the door but not without her $7 I was short since they doubled the bill! and then when I came back as agreed they refused to sell me the critical meds to cure them! Threatened me multiple times in the process But I'm supposed to believe they care about my pet?! I have taken my 2 cats and dogs here for about 2 years and think they are great. The costs are very reasonable and didn't try to pressure me to buy tests and stuff like my last vet. Performed surgery on my dogs leg for a large cyst and it has not grown back. They declawed 2 cats and fixed them with no issues at all and now working with my on one of my cats skin allergies. If you want extreme services for your pet then this is not your place but if you want a good country style vet then give them a try. Read Less

Will never go back EVER! Phones were down so I was not able to make an appointment. Walked in and was chewed out for not making an appointment and being a new patient. Owner was on phone yelling and cussing at the 2 receptionists. Had to explain over the phone what was going on and was being yelled at about the condition of my car. I can't say enough about this doctor! I also can't understand why such low scores. He saved by kitties life 2 years ago in 2014. He was dying from a blockage in his penis by crystals. The doctor said he would die 100% but if I did a surgery that removed his penis he stood a 50% chance to live. Of course, I choose that 50%. It was rocky for my boy but he's still with me 2 years later and he might have lost that gallop he would do around the house but he is still playful and oh so lovable. I understand what people say about the staff but ONLY because I've noticed that there is a large turnaround there. If I go once a year there is always new people. BUT they have always been friendly and helpful with me. Maybe approaching them with kindness gives kindness in return. It's all in the way we treat people. I have been taking my two dogs here for a few years. They have helped me cure my dogs of worms and a few different skin issues. All these medications were very affordable. Every time I have come in the staff and veterinarian have been very nice and helpful. They even referred me to a vet that specializes in reptile care instead of taking the business themselves. I know all the reviews make this place to be awful, but I have not encountered anything bad about the place. It's always clean and nicely decorated. I will continue to come here, because the prices are great and my dogs are always cured! :) Read Less

I'm not (and never will be a client) here, but even a brief review of their Facebook page shows photos and comments they have posted of them practicing sub-standard care. This includes people performing surgeries without proper sterile techniques.Other photos show pets that are under anesthesia without an endotracheal tube in place, and show little/no monitoring equipment.Th Facebook page has also deleted/blocked comments that call into question their care.Other comments they have posted on their page just show a lack of medical knowledge, such as stating that entropion surgery fixed a dog's "cherry eye" (entropion and cherry eye are very different conditions), stating that pyometra is cancer (pyometra is infection of the uterus).Previous comments that they posted in reply to questions (mostly deleted now) were also degrading and childish name-calling; unprofessional on their part.They may be low cost, but clearly their own photos and comments show them to be low-quality too. One star is too much!!! This is the absolute worst place that I have ever stepped foot into. They are far from qualified and there isn't anything about them that is low cost. They probably would have killed my dog and her only puppy if I would have allowed them to use their scare tactics to perform an unnecessary surgery on my animal. We were mocked, embarrassed, harassed and detained without authority. The "tech" was the only person who evaluated my dog who was in labor, while she had the owner on a cell phone the entire time. The tech was extremely rude, and insisted that my pregnant dog needed an immediate cesarean to remove "dead" babies. Her and the individual on the phone threatened me that if I did not pay the fee immediately in cash to "get the dog on the table" that they would call animal control to report me for animal abuse for refusing care. During this time they practically forced me to pay 184.00 for an x-ray and then refused me a copy. I was told that we could not leave the office with the pet until animal control showed up. Upon my own calls to the local humane society and animal control, I was notified that they had no right to detain us there and more specifically, that animal control no longer goes out to any calls at this facility because of the history of frivolous reports. While leaving the building the tech screamed at me in front of the entire lobby, "Lady, get your f***ing dog fixed"! Just to clarify, I was referred by the Humane Society to take the dog to Viscaya-Prado Veterinary Hospital, where the dog was cared for for over 4 hours, and assisted in delivering one healthy baby girl without any surgery or additional trauma while sitting in my lap. She didn't have any dead babies inside her, but in fact just a small litter. (And the bill was less than what I was charged to see a tech at this horrid location.) I have filed a formal complaint with the Department of Business Regulation and intend to pursue action against this business. Please use extreme caution with this animal clinic. I was notified that they have hundreds of complaints and are currently under investigation. Read Less

I am throroughly confused by this place. I found a small, dirty dog wandering in the street, & I was afraid it would get hit by a car. I took it to this vet because they were closest, to see if they would check for a microchip & contact the owner. They said it had an unregistered microchip. They didnt want it to go to the the animal shelter, and asked me to take him. I did. 2 days later they started calling repeatedly & leaving messages that I need to return the dog to them because i'm not the registered owner. I took the dog back the same afternoon and in the hour I was gone to drive him there, there were 6 more messages from them on my voicemail. WHAT THE F IS GOING ON IN THEIR OFFICE!! SERIOUSLY, if I wanted to steal the damn dog I wouldnt have involved them in the first place. WHAT NERVE!! I went with my friend for support, her 11 year old rottie got a uterus infection. First thing i noticed was how dirty the facility was and the smell was so bad, I wanted to run out of there. When the vet came in he was covered in blood, and didnt use gloves to examine her dogs vuvla area. "Amy" was very rude to my friend, when she picked up her dog i clearly heard her say "we will see him (when the dog was a she) in 2 weeks". Fast forward. She called my friend and told her that she missed her recheck and needed to come back. My friend said yes but her 2 daughters are sick and when they are better she would bring her dog back and also that she was told 2 weeks, and in a few days it would be 2 weeks since her dogs surgery...Fast forward again we came in for the recheck and seen the vet who was pleasent said we will give her some more antibotics. My friend was told 15.00 for a recheck and they charged her 28.00 , she was nice and asked why it was that much and Amy came out and was very rude and disrespectful and said she missed recheck and that its now 28.. There isnt a word for this "Amy" she is unprofessional and acts like a child. My friend simple stated to Amy that obviosly she cant be wrong or made an error. She told my friend who just paid about 800.00 to fix her dog that she is horribel pet owner so she called her "white trash", if the show fits wear it. Anyways, the office called her and had Gina on the other line asking "why she called her "office manager(what a joke) " that. She couldnt get a word in. Basically a high school move. Gina didnt contact my friend to get the story she called to protect her friend ( how immature). Basically to sum it up, save yourself and your animal from this horrible place. This place is a joke. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE. My aunts dog princess was in an emergency situation and Affordable Animal Care is right down the road from her house so they decided to go there. They left my aunts dog improperly stitched with a tube sticking straight up (rather than pointing down) in her muscle, she got an infection, her antibiotics weren't the proper strength, & my Aunt even took her back three times and they swore nothing was wrong. They also didn't shave her correctly. So my Aunt took her to Eastside animal hospital and they were forced to remove a chunk of muscle due to the infection & the tube that was left in but they got her fixed up and she's doing loads better! My dog was scheduled to come in today for his annual vaccinations. For those of you that are in the area know that we are experiencing "severe thunderstorm" warnings amongst "tornado" warnings and there is a travel advisory put forth by law enforcement. When we called to reschedule the appt because it was not safe to drive, we were told we would still be charged the $25 cancellation fee because it was not a 24 hour notice...give me a break! Obviously these people are money hungry and care more about $25 then the safety of their patients and patients parents... I was very happy with the clinic and have recommended it to several friends in the area. The reason I am giving one star and am not going back is because I was told I am no longer welcome. While at the clinic for the third round of shots a month ago, I inquired about making an appointment for having my 4 month old cat neutered. I was told "We can't do that." With no specific reasoning, I assumed they don't perform those surgeries. I made an appointment somewhere else to have him neutered a month later. This morning I received an incredibly rude voicemail from their receptionist that stated "The owners said you are not welcome back because you brought your cat to another clinic and didn't have him neutered here and it could catch kennel cough and we don't want that here." Click, goodbye.  I immediately called back to explain that I thought they didn't neuter and Felicia said they do but not until 6 months old. I told her it had to be a miscommunication because I intended to have him neutered there but was told they "couldn't". I explained to Felicia that prior to today I have had good experiences with their clinic and that her acerbic voicemail was unnecessarily confrontational and its not what you say its how you say it. I needed a copy of my dog's shot record for our vet in Ohio as well as the vet clinic where we were boarding him out of state, while on vacation. They could NOT fax, email or snail mail the information to me! The smart-ass girl who answered the phone wanted to know why we didn't get a copy before we left on vacation. We had no way of knowing that circumstances would force us to board our dog while on vacation to a place we go every year! When we first went there, 6 years ago, we were impressed with the two young, caring, thorough vets. After contesting them about having to pay an additional fee for release to information to the on-line pet medication site, they blame the fee on the on-line provider, then said it was a State Mandate and then admited it was the Vet charging the fee. I would only have to pay it once, then answer change to every ordered medication. But, I was told that this would not be necessary if I purchased the over price product that they carried. The girl stated at my previous office visit that people could only afford to buy one doce a month and keep coming back each month. During this office visit I told her then that I would purchase it on-line and nothing was stated about an additional charge when the on-line vender called to verify previous testing for the medication. She stated to me that it was a miscommunitation on my part that she did not state any of the deflections for the additional fee.The conclusion was another person from Affordable called me back and stated I was no longer welcomed there and to find another place to take my dogs. Mean while no offer was made to give back my funds for the testing I needed for the heartworm medication. In addition, my phone was blocked from calling them. The person who works the phones for this place is totally unbelievably rude she's truly making a bad name out of a good place well use to be until now talking with her is just impossible and money is the only thing that's important to her not are sick cat we had a emergency here at the house my wife busted her knee and ended up in the er with everything that happened we missed this first appointment had a lot going on at the time but now if we need to come there this lady is making me call with a credit card to make sure I pay first and then come when she called she was totally rude and n no way asked if or what was the reason for missing the appoinment it was pay me now or you can't come in the people here are nice up to now we have had nothing but issues with this lady on the I tried one day to explain what was wrong with my cat she started with this you don't have a attitude thing I was totally shocked and her tone was a I don't care attitude toward me if you can't explain your situation to her she sure needs to find other work cause they lost my business that's for sure I can't deal with rude and all out I don't care about your animal give me a credit card number or I am hanging up attitude I had her on the phone the other day she needed to talk to my wife to set up the appointment I am disabled so it took me maybe a few seconds to crutch to my wife by the time I went to give her the phone she rudly huge up on me and mde me call back again to wait on the line 10 minutes so I ended up calling back again to finally talk about getting my cat a visite but by this time I was so fed up I had to hang up cause all she could say is this credit card thing pay first just really horrible person truly I've been in he service industry for 20 years in each and every company I worked for was all about customers relations and she sure has no clue I have done that for probally as long as this lady has been alive boy it just burns me my wife called them to get this lady again and she hung up on her and nowing my wife that's not at all her it takes a lot for that to happen so I far warn ya Read Less
