Those who complain about the price of caring for your cat, please remember many of the same test used in human medicine are necessary in veterinary medicine except without insurance subsidy. Would you ask your doctor to make accurate diagnosis without necessary tests?

I had just moved down to Fort Myers with my cat and he started sneezing a lot and didn't seem as active. I often drove past the Cat Hospital, so I decided it would be a convenient place to try.I called to make an appointment and the lady on the phone was very nice and friendly. When I took my cat in for his appointment, the vet was extremely nice and treated my cat (my little Otis) like a person. It was refreshing to find a vet that cares as much about Otis's well-being, as I do. The vet also took his time explaining to me all of the possibilities of problems, and the proper way to care for my cat at home. He did not rush, and answered all of my questions in great detail. By the time my appointment was over, I was so impressed with the kindness and service I had received that I complimented them before I left.Since my first appointment, I have been back to the Cat Hospital several times (Otis is very old) and got to know the vet and some of the staff better. My opinion of the Cat Hospital has only improved. They are always professional, and very caring.Once I had to house my cat there for over a week while I was gone on vacation, and I was confident it was the best possible place he could be. I left hi with personal items and they said I could call every day if I wanted (or multiple times a day!) They continued to care for Otis and provide his meds - by the time I picked Otis up, he looked in better health and he had a special nickname "Otis Podis".This place is by far, the best place you could take your fur baby.

Much thanks to Dr. Gatof and staff for the comprehensive care they provided for my three cats! All three of my cat's were very sick and they provided thorough exam's and various diagnostics for each cat depending on their symptoms. For the review's complaining about the cost of testing and care..... Dr. Gatof has reasonable prices especially considering the quality of care. Don't take on the responsibility of an animal if you can't take on the financial responsibilities associated with the commitment. All the diagnostics testing that included x rays and blood work on one, as well as multiple medications for each cat totaled just under $1000...very reasonable! My cat's are now all healthy and happy :)

Very friendly staff. However, I went into this hospital over a month ago regarding my cat's daily vomiting. Thousands of dollars later in tests, the doctor presumes she has a hair ball in her tummy. She is still vomiting every day and has been since July. Not once was I advised to make any changes in her diet (she hardly eats anymore). I was given zero solutions to help my suffering pet. I will not be returning.

Dr Gatof and his superior staff at The Cat Hospital have been part of my life and the lives of my 4 beloved kitties for 15 years. They have seen us through thyroid disease, diabetes, kidney disease and cancer with excellent advice, care and compassion. They are the only dedicated cat only practice in Fort Myers. For me that meant experiences that were the least stressful for my cats and for myself...a real advantage as most cats are stressed already when confined to a carrier and driven in a car to their appointment. My cats were always handled with love and the utmost care when they arrived. The clinic is very well equipped to handle everything from a routine exam to emergency situations. They can generally get you into the schedule very quickly...sometimes the same day you call. Dr. Gatof is a personable and expert veterinarian and his staff, Sherry and Brooke, are both certified Vet Techs demonstating a dedication to excellence in education and training. The atmosphere at the clinic is warm and welcoming with a family-like feel. Once you bring your treasured kitties here I guarantee you won't want to take them anywhere else. Prices are reasonable and they even have an online pharmacy...convenient for refills of medication. I will be a client for many years to come!!!

I called on a weekday and was worked in for the afternoon the same day, which was wonderful. I needed to get my two cats yearly exams and vaccinations before I take them on a cross country move. One of my cats is very calm when in a carrier/outside the house. The other is not. He meows continually and hides. Deborah was so kind and good with him even as he was spazing out. He ran under the fridge in the exam room and she so kindly dug him out of there, twice. She obviously cares about animals, loves her job, and was so kind to him and patient with him the entire visit. I really appreciated that. Dr. Gatof did quick and thorough exams on both of our cats and discussed the options of giving Reggie anti-anxiety medicine vs not for long the drive. He gave great preventive advice. Deborah also gave tips to me as I was checking out about how to make Reggie adapt better to and de-stress on the drive. She also went above and beyond to zip-tie his cat carrier as it had not been done before, and to check both cats for microchips. Excellent, excellent service. I will be back.

Our cat Smokey has been in our family for 13years. He recently became very sick and sadly was put to sleep today. Dr. Gatof was extremely professional and very supportive during this time. He took the time to explain the problem and provided several options. His staff was very warm and comforting during the entire time and treated Smokey as if he was belonged to them. We thank them all for being there for Smokey and for us. With total confidence, we will be returning with our other cat for all her medical needs. Thank You All So Much! I've been in cat rescue for the past ten years. In that time, I've utilized nearly every vet in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area. In all my years, I've never found a more caring or knowledgeable veterinarian. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 10 minutes to see the doctor and typically, our cats are immediately ushered into a patient room. It's a well run office with a staff that makes you and your pet feel like priority one. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who wants the best for their cat.

The Best! Dr. Gatof and his staff are far above the rest! We were referred to him by our last vet, on several occasions, when our pet's issue could not be resolved. It became clear very quickly that this doctor was highly respected by his peers for his level of intelligence and experience. We made the switch permanently to this office and never looked back! Everything Dr. Gatof recommends is what he would do for his own cat and that's exactly what I want for my animals. I don't want a vet who puts a band-aid on a dam. He treats our pets like their his own. After every visit, on the following day, we get a follow-up call to see how our cat is doing. Even if they just go in for something simple. Who does that??? No one! If I have a question, I call and their always happy to help. It's a specialty practice and that's exactly how they make you feel. My cats have seen nearly every vet in this town and I have never found a practice ran with more professionalism, compassion or care. Their fees seem inline with other practices and in some cases, in my opinion, their less. You get what you pay for and I’d never compromise my animals care for some “discount” operation.

Please don't go there. I brought my kitty there yesterday thinking she may have some type of urinary infection. I arrived on time but waited at least 45 min just to be seen by the vet tech. The place appeared to be empty except for one other man. I finally came out of the room to get someones attention and the vet finally came in. He rambled on and on for a few minutes so quickly I could barely understand him and was given no chance to ask questions. He told me my cat would need blood tests, a chest xray, and an overnight stay to get a urine sample. Right then it hit me ...this is all about $$. I asked if we could start with just blood tests cause I was concerned about the cost he then got defensive said very rudley "do you want to save your cat or not" He then said my receptionist will give you an estimate and abruptly left the room. Well she did and it was almost $500.00 just to see if there was anything wrong! I can only imagine what the treatment would cost. I paid my $60.00 office bill and got the heck out of there. I would never trust him with my cat! ...Beware!

After your first visit, you'll understand why Dr. Gatof is so respected by his peers. The professionalism and care he extends to both you and your cat sets the bar for all others. He takes the time to explain every aspect of your pets health concerns. Your cat is treated as if it were his own. Hes as passionate about your animals wellbeing as you are. Those who complain about the price of caring for your cat, please remember many of the same test used in human medicine are necessary in veterinary medicine except without insurance subsidy. Would you ask your doctor to make accurate diagnosis without necessary tests?

I had just moved down to Fort Myers with my cat and he started sneezing a lot and didn't seem as active. I often drove past the Cat Hospital, so I decided it would be a convenient place to try.I called to make an appointment and the lady on the phone was very nice and friendly. When I took my cat in for his appointment, the vet was extremely nice and treated my cat (my little Otis) like a person. It was refreshing to find a vet that cares as much about Otis's well-being, as I do. The vet also took his time explaining to me all of the possibilities of problems, and the proper way to care for my cat at home. He did not rush, and answered all of my questions in great detail. By the time my appointment was over, I was so impressed with the kindness and service I had received that I complimented them before I left.Since my first appointment, I have been back to the Cat Hospital several times (Otis is very old) and got to know the vet and some of the staff better. My opinion of the Cat Hospital has only improved. They are always professional, and very caring.Once I had to house my cat there for over a week while I was gone on vacation, and I was confident it was the best possible place he could be. I left hi with personal items and they said I could call every day if I wanted (or multiple times a day!) They continued to care for Otis and provide his meds - by the time I picked Otis up, he looked in better health and he had a special nickname "Otis Podis".This place is by far, the best place you could take your fur baby.

All three of my cat's were very sick and they provided thorough exam's and various diagnostics for each cat depending on their symptoms. For the review's complaining about the cost of testing and care..... Dr. Gatof has reasonable prices especially considering the quality of care. Don't take on the responsibility of an animal if you can't take on the financial responsibilities associated with the commitment. All the diagnostics testing that included x rays and blood work on one, as well as multiple medications for each cat totaled just under $1000...very reasonable! My cat's are now all healthy and happy :)

Very friendly staff. However, I went into this hospital over a month ago regarding my cat's daily vomiting. Thousands of dollars later in tests, the doctor presumes she has a hair ball in her tummy. She is still vomiting every day and has been since July. Not once was I advised to make any changes in her diet (she hardly eats anymore). I was given zero solutions to help my suffering pet. I will not be returning.

Dr Gatof and his superior staff at The Cat Hospital have been part of my life and the lives of my 4 beloved kitties for 15 years. They have seen us through thyroid disease, diabetes, kidney disease and cancer with excellent advice, care and compassion. They are the only dedicated cat only practice in Fort Myers. For me that meant experiences that were the least stressful for my cats and for myself...a real advantage as most cats are stressed already when confined to a carrier and driven in a car to their appointment. My cats were always handled with love and the utmost care when they arrived. The clinic is very well equipped to handle everything from a routine exam to emergency situations. They can generally get you into the schedule very quickly...sometimes the same day you call. Dr. Gatof is a personable and expert veterinarian and his staff, Sherry and Brooke, are both certified Vet Techs demonstating a dedication to excellence in education and training. The atmosphere at the clinic is warm and welcoming with a family-like feel. Once you bring your treasured kitties here I guarantee you won't want to take them anywhere else. Prices are reasonable and they even have an online pharmacy...convenient for refills of medication. I will be a client for many years to come!!!

I called on a weekday and was worked in for the afternoon the same day, which was wonderful. I needed to get my two cats yearly exams and vaccinations before I take them on a cross country move. One of my cats is very calm when in a carrier/outside the house. The other is not. He meows continually and hides. Deborah was so kind and good with him even as he was spazing out. He ran under the fridge in the exam room and she so kindly dug him out of there, twice. She obviously cares about animals, loves her job, and was so kind to him and patient with him the entire visit. I really appreciated that. Dr. Gatof did quick and thorough exams on both of our cats and discussed the options of giving Reggie anti-anxiety medicine vs not for long the drive. He gave great preventive advice. Deborah also gave tips to me as I was checking out about how to make Reggie adapt better to and de-stress on the drive. She also went above and beyond to zip-tie his cat carrier as it had not been done before, and to check both cats for microchips. Excellent, excellent service. I will be back.

Our cat Smokey has been in our family for 13years. He recently became very sick and sadly was put to sleep today. Dr. Gatof was extremely professional and very supportive during this time. He took the time to explain the problem and provided several options. His staff was very warm and comforting during the entire time and treated Smokey as if he was belonged to them. We thank them all for being there for Smokey and for us. With total confidence, we will be returning with our other cat for all her medical needs. Thank You All So Much! I've been in cat rescue for the past ten years. In that time, I've utilized nearly every vet in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area. In all my years, I've never found a more caring or knowledgeable veterinarian. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 10 minutes to see the doctor and typically, our cats are immediately ushered into a patient room. It's a well run office with a staff that makes you and your pet feel like priority one. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who wants the best for their cat.

The Best! Dr. Gatof and his staff are far above the rest! We were referred to him by our last vet, on several occasions, when our pet's issue could not be resolved. It became clear very quickly that this doctor was highly respected by his peers for his level of intelligence and experience. We made the switch permanently to this office and never looked back! Everything Dr. Gatof recommends is what he would do for his own cat and that's exactly what I want for my animals. I don't want a vet who puts a band-aid on a dam. He treats our pets like their his own. After every visit, on the following day, we get a follow-up call to see how our cat is doing. Even if they just go in for something simple. Who does that??? No one! If I have a question, I call and their always happy to help. It's a specialty practice and that's exactly how they make you feel. My cats have seen nearly every vet in this town and I have never found a practice ran with more professionalism, compassion or care. Their fees seem inline with other practices and in some cases, in my opinion, their less. You get what you pay for and I’d never compromise my animals care for some “discount” operation.

Please don't go there. I brought my kitty there yesterday thinking she may have some type of urinary infection. I arrived on time but waited at least 45 min just to be seen by the vet tech. The place appeared to be empty except for one other man. I finally came out of the room to get someones attention and the vet finally came in. He rambled on and on for a few minutes so quickly I could barely understand him and was given no chance to ask questions. He told me my cat would need blood tests, a chest xray, and an overnight stay to get a urine sample. Right then it hit me ...this is all about $$. I asked if we could start with just blood tests cause I was concerned about the cost he then got defensive said very rudley "do you want to save your cat or not" He then said my receptionist will give you an estimate and abruptly left the room. Well she did and it was almost $500.00 just to see if there was anything wrong! I can only imagine what the treatment would cost. I paid my $60.00 office bill and got the heck out of there. I would never trust him with my cat! ...Beware!
