Dr was cold uncaring. Brought on beloved dog in who had collapsed No guidance. Just I could do this IV or take blood samples I asked if she could be saved He said nothing Made me feel alone. Swollen spleen 12 years old. I don't know if she had a chance to recover or not. She could not move or focus. He left the room and said for us to decide what we wanted to do. Try to save her or put her to sleep. That's why he's the dr !!! I don't know if she could have been saved. This was April 23 in the evening Left there after we had her put to sleep with a heavy heart. Dr was not sympathetic at all. We are extremely upset with this office and would steer anyone away if you want sound advice!!!! Or any compassion!!!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! I was on vacation in Florida & my dog got ahold of a poisonous bufo toad & started going into seizures. I called this vet immediately to tell them what happened & to let them know I would be there within 5 minutes. When I got there, the door was LOCKED. I had my sweet Pekingese hanging on for her life in my arms. I started knocking on the door & they looked up & said "hold on." They finally came to the door about 2 minutes later. I ran in & gave my dog to the vet assistant who then took her to the back. The vet was in the room with the door open with a golden retriever that had a cast on his leg. (i think it was the vet...may have been another assistant, considering how UNPROFESSIONAL he was.) He looked up and just continued to talk to the people with the golden retriever although their situation wasn't even close to an emergency. By the time he got to my sweet Jillybean, she had passed away. He just looked at her lifeless body laying on the cold table and said "she's dead" and then walked away. I was in total shock. My best friend of 7 years had just passed away because of an INCOMPETENT staff. They had absolutely NO compassion whatsoever. They just looked at me and said "well, do you want to take her or we can just dispose of her body? Your choice." What an unbelievable way to treat someone whose pet just passed away. I wish this place could be shut down. Read Less

This is the worst vet I have ever encountered in my life.  They had 3 people working there and only 2 people ahead of me when I came it yet it took over an hour and a half (one was just shooting the breeze and the other didn't have an emergency).  Everyone was moving SO SLOW.  The vet, Mark Huff, has his teenage kid, Travis Huff - who looks like he'd rather be somewhere else and actually is somewhere else mentally - taking the vitals, trying to explain the diagnosis, and generally lumbering about cluelessly and without any sense of purpose or compassion or competence.  Is that even LEGAL??!  I went to the emergency ER looking for professional veterinary care!  Why is a kid without a license doing the work unsupervised?!?!  When Mark Huff finally did come in, he seemed totally put out to be asked any questions or to explain anything. Again, he didn't even say what was wrong - he just walked out and sent his kid in to try to read terms off a page and it was like a kid at a spelling B who awkwardly tries to mutter through what they're doing with pathetic results.  And the vet was just lounging about like he was on sedatives himself or something.  Even though I asked to have the diagnosis and treatments explained to me, he sent his kid and receptionist to do it while he just hid in the back - and at this point NO ONE else was even in the building.  I AM SO PISSED!  But I am also TERRIFIED.  My dog - who is like my child - looks far worse AFTER going there than he did when I brought him in.  And when I called back, it took almost 10 minutes to get the vet on the phone and then he was talking so slow it's like he's either on something or, a couple times, I thought he wasn't even on the phone any longer because of how long the pauses were.  This is SO discomforting.  My dog looks worse now than when he went in but my only option is to take him back to the same place that just left me sitting there for almost two hours while they mill about like they're in a geriatric ward.  I asked to be present when the injections were given but they did not let me and since my dog got the shots he seems totally out of it.  He's having spasms, is shivering, can't focus, and while he's standing his head just crashes with his nose going in the carpet and he seems like he can't think straight to lay down or stand.  The vet callously and in a numb and slow tone lacking any compassion or concern whatsoever mutters, "you can bring him back in if you want".  WTH?!?!  This is the most unprofessional and uncaring vet I have ever encountered.  Nothing was explained properly or professionally.  When they brought my dog out he was dripping fluid and had this huge deformed looking swelling.  They had pumped him full of fluid and later explained that the reason he is probably shivering is because they pumped COLD FLUID in to his body.  ZERO sense of urgency, compassion or professionalism.  The only exception was Tanya, the receptionist, who realized how off this was and expressed concern, that seemed sincere, when I said I was headed straight to Yelp. We had to take one of our cats here because he was in intense pain from having a clogged urethra tube. While they did fix the problem I thought paying over $1600 was extremely excessive. Especially after our regular vet said it would have only cost around $400-$500. He said they did unnecessary things and charged too much for what they did. I tend to agree, I thought it was over kill. I would avoid going here if you can, unfortunately I had no option. While I was glad to have a vet to take my dog to late on a Friday night, I was very disappointed with the service and pricing. Like another reviewer mentioned, they make you pay up front...thousands of dollars right on the spot. Seems like in an extreme emergency/situation, they could have something to work that out (like a human doctor will bill you). The doctor told me after taking expensive xrays that my dog had his intestines twisted up and he needed to have "exploratory surgery" right away. So paid over $2000 for that, got a call the next morning, and it wasn't the intestine but an air pocket formed due to an allergic reaction to sutures used for his neuter earlier that week. They insisted on keeping my dog all weekend, and they wouldn't let me come see him. He seemed to be fine when I picked him up and took him to my vet a day later for a routine check up and to check the drainage valve they put in his side...went back 2 days after that for another check up and I told my vet he was swelling up again in the same area. The doctor at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic used the same exact sutures that were the cause of my dog's allergic reaction. You would think he would know not to use something that caused a bad allergic reaction in a puppy! My vet then performed another surgery the following day, removing puss and scar tissue, and putting in DIFFERENT SUTURES (and hopefully he wouldn't have another reaction-and he didn't)...but this fix surgery cost another $350. All in all, the ER vet did nothing but cost me over $2700 and a weekend without my dog and extra surgeries my 7 month old puppy could've done without. They also never called to check on the condition of my dog after releasing him. Please try to use this place only as a last resort! Find a different ER vet or try to reach your own vet. Read Less
