I've been going here for a few years because from the start they treated my baby girl and me with such genuine care. They know their clients and going there always feels like seeing extended family. I first showed up there with my pug having weight issues and a stone that had to be surgically removed. She's such a happy pug because this place partners with me in caring for her the best way possible! Knowledgeable, intentional, and I love them! Read Less

I wanted to keep this short but also want to explain why the low review. I have been taking my older dog to Fort Myers Veterinary Clinic for about two years. So, my older dog was not acting quite right and she was due anyway for a rabies shot. The morning I took her in, I had to drop her off early and my sister would pick her up a few hours later because I had to work. That started the nightmare. In short, they called me and gave me an estimate. I had some of it but not all. I think it was a Wednesday. I choose what I could afford at the time and what would give me the most information about her condition. I was not informed, or it was not discussed what they though was the best course of action. They said she was not critical. The choice was a blood test which the result would come in the morning. No problem at the time. We can see where we go from there I thought, I get paid again on Friday. When I dropped her off, my dog was getting out of breath very easily. I left her there for a few hours before my sister picked her up. My sister called later that day and said she would not eat. I immediately panicked because she will eat anything, anytime, anywhere. I stopped by the vet on the way home and waited forever for Dr. Sauer to talk to me. Finally, I told her that my dog would not eat and she was worse. She said there was nothing she could do except wait for the test results. I begged her to do something or give her something to help her feel better while we wait. She said that I chose the blood test and did not do the other test so there is nothing she can do. She did say if I wanted to take her to another vet she could cancel the blood test results. I asked how long I have to make that decision and she said we close in five minutes. I really wanted those test results so I left. Well my dog passed away during the night. I am not blaming this vet for her death. She probably would have passed anyway, but they are heartless unless you have all of the money you need up front. Even the next day when I called her to tell her that my dog had passed, they were heartless. They blamed me for everything saying well that is what you choose and I didn’t have all of the test done. I told the vet she needed to rethink what she considers critical, because my dog was and she said she wasn’t. I should have listened to my gut and not the vet. I will never bring another animal to this vet. Money is more important than your pets life so have plenty before you enter their doors. Read Less

Wonderful experience, great energy in the office. We came to her because we had a bad experience with with Associates of Veterinary Medicine giving my cat a vaccine improperly, and without my consent. I was visibly affected by that experience, but Dr. Sauer's and her staff handled me with compassion and understanding. They took good care of our cat, who has some serious issues. And, Dr. Sauer didn't push vaccines when she realized I wasn't a big fan. We plan to go back to Dr. Saeur with all of our pets. Highly recommended. Read Less

We brought our best friend of 7 years in to be out down after 8 months of battling lymphoma. The staff was very kind and understanding, and the procedure itself was done very compassionately, and we were allowed to be in the room with her for her final moments. Then the mistake. Apparently, somewhere in a form or excel sheet, we had been marked for a communal cremation. Meaning that we do not get the ashes back. I was VERY clear when we made the appt that we wanted to have her ashes returned to us. I am thankful for the service they provided. However I am devastated that we will not be able to take Her ashes home with usRead Less
