General Info
Since 2001 Summerlin Animal Hospital has been caring for the "best friends" of Ft. Myers residents and vacationers. Our loving staff, outstanding medicine, and progressively equipped practice makes your veterinary visit as easy and as comfortable as possible for both you and your pet. We are Cat Friendly certified and AAHA Accredited - click here to learn more about what this means for you
and your pet.
Our primary focus is your pet's health; our veterinarians provide routine wellness care as well comprehensive sick care in our spacious hospital. We offer four exam rooms, two client care staff and multiple technicians working daily with our veterinarians to keep appointments running on time. We schedule 30 minute visits to ensure you have ample time to discuss your concerns with Dr. John or Dr. Karen.
In-house blood work and laboratory testing, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound technology and surgical services are all available in our hospital.
Heather Brown is our full time groomer, click here to learn more about grooming. We do not offer pet boarding services.

Never had anything but an excellent experience here. My pets are my babies and I only want the absolute best for them and I never feel like I get anything less than that here. I love how I can feel how much they genuinely care about my animals. I've never felt pressured or uncomfortable while there and I always get a personal call from whichever doctor my animal saw. I appreciate that so much. The rest of the staff is fantastic as well, crystal is probably the nicest person I've ever met. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Elizabeth had to be put down after 14 years and it was shortly before Irma. Dr. John and his team have been very patient with the dogs and have even learned to understand the dry humor of the owner. He doesn't suggest things we dont need.

I entrust the care of my Westies to the excellent doctors and staff of Summerlin Animal Hospital. They are caring and kind while keeping you informed and educated on your pets issues and we have had some serious illness and injuries. The staff goes above and beyond to get you in quickly. They make follow up calls to check on your pet after procedures and treatments. They get you competitive prices on medications. They are cheerful and friendly. My dogs trust them and that says a lot to me!
I'd like to thank Summerlin Animal Hospital for their care of my pets as well as me. We pet people all know how emotionally attached we are to our babies and it is such a comfort to know that Dr John & Dr Karen and their team have our backs. If you are looking for a new Vet or a change you cannot go wrong with these fine caring men and women.

I have been taking my dogs to Summerlin Animal Hospital for over fourteen years. When I first started going there, Dr. John's wife, Dr. Cheryl, was working there. She saved my one year old Yorkie who had gone into anaphylactic shock. Thank God. Over the years, Dr. John became the main vet. He and his staff are wonderful and very professional. I would not think of going anywhere else. By the way, that little Yorkie will be 16 years old in July.

Excellent care of my two cats. When my 12 y/o got sick, I got a phone call from the doc after each new med I was trying to see how G. was doing. If I needed to call, Dr. John or one of the other vets talked with me. Dr. John scheduled a radiology exam proactively for my cat when it became clear that was necessary. The waiting and reception areas are spotless and uncluttered; front desk staff is friendly and competent. Prices are reasonable for the services.

We were visiting our new home near The Summerlin Animal Hospital when our dog, Gunther contracted a really nasty case of Giardia. Although I didn't have an appointment and they didn't know me, when I explained my problem, they had me sit down with Gunther and within 5 minutes we were in an examination room and they had retrieved all Gunther's records from his vet in New Jersey. Dr John was very, very nice and explained to me what was probably wrong and how he would like to treat it. He spared Gunther all the Xrays and blood tests that he could have ordered and just treated what he thought it would turn out to be. The bill was less than I expected and the entire experience was really great. Gunther started to get better the next day. We are loyal patients from now on.

Dr. John is the best vet in town. His staff is exceptional and they truly care about your furry family members. We have been coming to Summerlin Animal Hospital for years and are more than pleased with the care our furry babies get . Our animals are our children and they care for them with this understanding. I have a 10 year old pug who when you say you want to see Dr.John goes running for the door and when Dr. John enters the room he gets on the floor and plays with Beau before he examines him. I truly feel he is a dog whisperer. You would be crazy not to bring your furry loved ones here.

We took our Boston Terrier here because she had a chest cold going on. They were great taking an appointment on short notice and were not crowded at all. Very friendly people who all just loved on my little one, even though she had snot running out of her nose. Sophie loved it and wasn't afraid at all. Their visit cost was the best around and the medicines they prescribed were the cheapest I've seen. Clean office and rooms, friendly staff, and everyone was very knowledgeable.

We do not live here permanently and were recommended to this vet. Dr. John had our dog's file faxed to him and spent considerable time reviewing it before diagnosing our dog's current problem. After seeing our dog, he spent more time consulting the file and then phoned me to reassure me that our dog's condition was treatable. Very compassionate. Did not feel rushed during the office visit. Worked us in to get a fast appointment. Would highly recommend this office!

We started seeing Dr Reynolds when he started as an emergency room doctor. The concern, compassion, care and love he gave to my dog at the emergency room told me that he would be my dogs Doctor. We followed him to Summerlin Animal hospital to take care of all of all dogs. His staff, exceptional! They show the same love to our animals as Dr Reynolds. I entrust the care of my Westies to the excellent doctors and staff of Summerlin Animal Hospital. They are caring and kind while keeping you informed and educated on your pets issues and we have had some serious illness and injuries. The staff goes above and beyond to get you in quickly. They make follow up calls to check on your pet after procedures and treatments. They get you competitive prices on medications. They are cheerful and friendly. My dogs trust them and that says a lot to me!
I'd like to thank Summerlin Animal Hospital for their care of my pets as well as me. We pet people all know how emotionally attached we are to our babies and it is such a comfort to know that Dr John & Dr Karen and their team have our backs. If you are looking for a new Vet or a change you cannot go wrong with these fine caring men and women.

I have been taking my dogs to Summerlin Animal Hospital for over fourteen years. When I first started going there, Dr. John's wife, Dr. Cheryl, was working there. She saved my one year old Yorkie who had gone into anaphylactic shock. Thank God. Over the years, Dr. John became the main vet. He and his staff are wonderful and very professional. I would not think of going anywhere else. By the way, that little Yorkie will be 16 years old in July.

Dr John is great and very caring...more so than any other vet I have been to in the area..my old pup had to have extensive surgery a few months ago and her pain level was one she couldn't handle and Dr John had me bring her in and he kept her with him an extra day..and I mean he had her actually with him in the office to watch her and adjust her meds...she is a happy healthy pup again..couldnt have asked for more..

More importunely he is kind, treats the animal with utmost respect and love. I don't know what I would have done without him. His staff is kind as well.

Excellent care of my two cats. When my 12 y/o got sick, I got a phone call from the doc after each new med I was trying to see how G. was doing. If I needed to call, Dr. John or one of the other vets talked with me. Dr. John scheduled a radiology exam proactively for my cat when it became clear that was necessary. The waiting and reception areas are spotless and uncluttered; front desk staff is friendly and competent. Prices are reasonable for the services.

We were visiting our new home near The Summerlin Animal Hospital when our dog, Gunther contracted a really nasty case of Giardia. Although I didn't have an appointment and they didn't know me, when I explained my problem, they had me sit down with Gunther and within 5 minutes we were in an examination room and they had retrieved all Gunther's records from his vet in New Jersey. Dr John was very, very nice and explained to me what was probably wrong and how he would like to treat it. He spared Gunther all the Xrays and blood tests that he could have ordered and just treated what he thought it would turn out to be. The bill was less than I expected and the entire experience was really great. Gunther started to get better the next day. We are loyal patients from now on.

Dr. John is the best vet in town. His staff is exceptional and they truly care about your furry family members. We have been coming to Summerlin Animal Hospital for years and are more than pleased with the care our furry babies get . Our animals are our children and they care for them with this understanding. I have a 10 year old pug who when you say you want to see Dr.John goes running for the door and when Dr. John enters the room he gets on the floor and plays with Beau before he examines him. I truly feel he is a dog whisperer. You would be crazy not to bring your furry loved ones here.

We took our Boston Terrier here because she had a chest cold going on. They were great taking an appointment on short notice and were not crowded at all. Very friendly people who all just loved on my little one, even though she had snot running out of her nose. Sophie loved it and wasn't afraid at all. Their visit cost was the best around and the medicines they prescribed were the cheapest I've seen. Clean office and rooms, friendly staff, and everyone was very knowledgeable.

We do not live here permanently and were recommended to this vet. Dr. John had our dog's file faxed to him and spent considerable time reviewing it before diagnosing our dog's current problem. After seeing our dog, he spent more time consulting the file and then phoned me to reassure me that our dog's condition was treatable. Very compassionate. Did not feel rushed during the office visit. Worked us in to get a fast appointment. Would highly recommend this office!

We started seeing Dr Reynolds when he started as an emergency room doctor. The concern, compassion, care and love he gave to my dog at the emergency room told me that he would be my dogs Doctor. We followed him to Summerlin Animal hospital to take care of all of all dogs. His staff, exceptional! They show the same love to our animals as Dr Reynolds.
