I don't often review anything but I am so impressed with Dr. O’Connor and his staff and his facility that I thought it was important to review his office. Dr. O’Connor is so knowledgeable and so caring and so patient. He takes his time evaluating his patients and explains a lot about proper care and preventive care What a beautiful Dr. and his staff is wonderful. His facility is truly the nicest I have ever seen. I have never been in a Vets office that was this clean and odorless. Really, truly the nicest facility with all new and updated machines and equipment. We have been taking our pets here for years and have been extremely satisfied! They are attentive, friendly and reasonably priced to boot. My husband had to take our beloved Lucy to be put down. She suffered from CHF and it was obvious it was her time to go. She had a hard time breathing last night and we felt she need to go and end her pain. She was a loyal and loving dog so we owed her a peaceful passing. We had an unexpected incident with our 6 month old puppy. No other office would see her with out payment in full up front. Because we were so unprepared for this accident to happen at the time we were unable to come up with enough funds to even have her examined. I was referred to Holy Family and from the first phone call they were amazing! They were in complete understanding of not being prepared and were able to work with us. They took such good care of our girl at each visit. They really just cared about her well being and not just how much money they could get out of us. It was very relieving and pleasant to have a vet and staff that cared for her as much as we do. I will refer everyone I know! If I had listened to their diagnosis, my cat would have died. I took my 10 year old cat here because she was having difficulty walking. They told me it was because of litter in her paw pads. A week later, the problem remains. I take her to a different vet, who discovers my cat is diabetic, and her walking difficulty is due to prolonged exposure to the disease!Pebbles in her paws? Really? I am SO glad I took her elsewhere. Who knows what these people would have done. I will never come back, and I will steer as many people away from this place as I can. Absolutely terrible. Read Less

Kind, generous and always caring.  I have several pets, cats and dogs and have always had the best care from Dr. O'Connor and his staff.  My one dog had a strange skin ailment, Dr. O'Connor was unable to diagnose it and did not hesitate to refer to a specialist who was able to diagnose and cure my dog who was 11, she's 13 now and doing well.  Dr. O'Connor is the only vet I've seen in all my years of having pets who has a light on the counter to alert others when a pet parent is saying their final farewell to their beloved pet.  I don't know of vet who shows more compassion.  AND the fees are reasonable, he ALWAYS suggests alternatives if there are any. Dr O'Connor is a kind vet with a very calm demeanor, he relaxed my cat, gave her 3 shots and she didn't even flinch! He's amazing with animals and will not perform tests unless he feels they are necessary. Highly recommend! Read Less

This is one of the best vet's I have ever been to He took great care of my dogs dental needs and was very affordable. After calling just about every vet in Ft Pierce and Port st lucie for prices he was very reasonable I left my regular vet and now Holy vet will be the only vet to touch my dogs. Read Less

Took my dog and cat in at the same time for our first visit to this Dr. When I was at the light across the street I called the office to ask if someone could meet me at the front door to help me, since I was wrestling a dog, cat crate, and paper work. They said it would be no problem. No one came to help me when I arrived. Once inside it took the front desk almost 5 minutes to acknowledge me. (There was no one else at the counter.) Once in my exam room, the vet techs were annoyed that I asked them to trim my dog's nails. When the Dr. finally came in the room, he didn't introduce himself or shake my hand. He barely touched either animal and acted afraid of my dog. For the record my dog LOVES people. Seriously the Dr. was in the room for less than 5 minutes and failed to recognise a very visible issue on my dog. NEVER would I recommend this place. Read Less

Very accommodating and courteous staff. I was referred here by my Vet for a CAT Scan and the staff was very nice and treated My Maggie Mae very nicely. They explained what they were going to do and reassured me everything would be fine. after the study was done the Vet came in and explained what he found and reassured me she would be ok it was just going to take time. He wanted to give me some reassurance as this was a Saturday morning and I was scheduled to see my Vet Monday. He also told me what to do until I saw my Vet (I do think my Vet communicated with this one and told him it was ok to fill me in. Did a good job, did not take very long at all and Maggie Mae was not distraught when she came back out to me. I would not hesitate to use them if my Vet was out of town. The price was very reasonable... I was sure I was going to get soaked... Saturday, an emergency and I wasn't a regular patient... that did not happen. Dr. Oconnor saved my mini dachsund 14 year old Peanut. Then he was compassionate when we had to make that decision for my sweet Peanut at 17. I wont go anywhere else for my fur babies. His staff is kind,gentle,patient (I now have acquired a hyper pit and hyper bullie. The staff all are patient and loving with us despite the chaos they can cause. My son and I never dreamed we would have to put our young kitty down..at only 8 yrs old ..severe kidney failure...Kitty was the life and love of our home....was the most difficult decision ever!! A dear friend suggested I call Holy Family Veterinary ...The best call I ever made... to find a vets office that "Truly Cares"...and are not trying to make this heartbreaking decision about money..as our vet did. The staff was so sympathetic and loving....they made this difficult day bearable. They gave us time before during and after with Kitty....they cared for my kitty as if he was their own...AMAZING STAFF!! A year ago yesterday, my pet and I had an ugly experience at Holy Family vet clinic that I am unable to erase from my mind. Knowing that my senior cat with renal failure would not live too many more weeks, I had visited the doctor and the clinic several times to discuss end of life care and what I wished NOT to happen.    You guessed it.  It did.  I asked for as little pain as possible and as much compassion as possible.    The wait after I arrived (even after calling that I was on the way)  was unreasonable and painful as clients asked what was wrong with my pet.  The wait in the examining room was also long.  As it turned out the assistants were using a med that they had never used before and it caused my cat too much distress and PAIN.  It was not an easy death and not what I requested and was promised.  Sedation first could have made this so much better for everyone and was promised to me.I was not entering into this without knowledge after being a nurse for over 40 yr.s.  a pet owner all my life, and a rescuer/fosterer and being a vet assistant to my brother.  In my practice, it would have been unacceptable to cause a dying patient this kind of distress and pain.When I returned later to discuss my disppointment to the vet, his remarks were not soothing or understanding but words like "but you were upset".  Really?!  By- the -way, he didn't see any of the distressing part but came at the last minute to finish it.Make certain they are actively listening to you if you decide on euthanasia at this practice.  He promised to obtain meds to make it less traumatic in the future but make sure that has been done.  I would not want anyone to ever experience the above.  Why didn't he already have them????    Be very careful. Dr O'conner was awesome today...he was there for us when our own vet wasn't and did an ER Csection on our girl and saved her and her pups...we were truly blessed to have found them. I have been in animals a long time and being a previous vet tech myself find it hard to find a good vet...well i found a great vet today...so glad and we are for sure switching permanently to you guys...my own vet didn't even have his cell phone on for emergencies like he claims too...but Dr O'Conner did...he saw us today...gave her a shot of oxy...sent her home to at least let her try to get the babies out...and then came back in today to do the csection...I am very happy....and Noel and her puppies are all doing great.
