My indoor/outdoor cat walked up to me in the yard bleeding from her nose, mouth and eyes. I immediately rushed her to Winter's, because I see it on my drive home every day and from the outside it appears to be a nice place. When I walked in (with my cat sneezing blood and having major difficulty breathing, her eye was also tilted inward as if she were cross eyed) the receptionist didn't seem too concerned and asked me to fill out forms before I could be seen. That seemed a little cold to me but I understand it is a business and they have procedures to follow for new clients. I did my best to fill out the forms quickly, meanwhile explaining that my cat needs to be seen my the vet immediately. I even asked if the vet was busy, because if there was not one available in the next 5 minutes I would rush her to Tallahassee to another vet. The receptionist assured me they could see her, and continued asking me questions about the cats history and other billing information. The entire time I was there, I could see into the back, which I assume is an exam room/kennels. There was a man on the telephone, laughing and chit-chatting the entire time. I know he could hear the conversation between the receptionist and I, because I could hear everything he said. He never once said 'I have to let you go, an emergency just walked in' or anything of the sort. It took about 15 minutes from the time I walked in with a severely injured animal to the time my cat was even taken to the back. I was not invited into an exam room, rather the vet came out to the waiting room and told me what his thoughts on treatment were after looking at her for a very short period. He then turned to the only other person in the waiting room and spoke to them about their pet, so I assume that they do not have a appropriate place to speak to clients. In the end they did not take xrays which I had expected to be done to make sure nothing was broken. they did not do much of anything, aside from looking at her and prescribing some pain medication. He also said that he or his staff would call the next day, but I never heard from them. Thankfully, her broken pelvis healed under the care of another vet. Overall I was not impressed by the facility, the care my cat received, or the interaction between myself and Dr. Winter. There was no compassion from him, and it is clear that he is a business man first. Being the owner of several animals, I am constantly going to the Vets office. we probably spend more on vet care than most people spend on health care for their family each year. But that's the thing, our animals ARE our family, and we will only subject them to 1st rate care. I'm sure Dr. Winter has some clients that like him a lot, but my experience was horrible and you couldn't pay me to go back. Read Less
