I met this animal lover gentleman at the doggie park on Johnson St., Pembroke Pines. We stared to casually converse about our pets. In sharing about our experiences, I commented that I had decided not to have another pet in the future because of my age (I wouldn't want to pass and leave any of my furry "kids" to their uncertain fate). And secondly; caring for their health is becoming unaffordable these days. This man shared with me Dr. Batista's Care Corner contact info, plus, spoke so highly about his service and his competency, as well as his support in working with his clients toward the best health care of their pets. I made an appointment with Dr. Batista to find out that all this was absolutely true. Dr. Batista is a warm, welcoming Doctor with 30 plus years of experience. He is kind and understanding. As I observed my surroundings during my first office visit, I also noticed that he received his doctorate from one of the best private universities in my country, Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena, UNPHU. I have been taking all my pets to Dr. Batsita ever since he opened his own clinic (actually BEFORE when he was with another clinic!). He and all his staff are kind and caring and very thorough. I would and have recommended him to all my friends. The only "bad" thing I can say is that the shopping center he's in just re-striped their parking spaces and they are so tight it's hard to get my big dog in and out of the car because there is literally no space between cars. The best animal clinic ever! I absolutely love Dr. Batista and the staff is amazing! I have taken my dog Lexie since she was 1 month old until present and he really helped me in taking care of her. Lexie is my first and he was very kind to spend his time in orienting how to care for a dog since our first visit. My standard poodle is a year old and I have been bringing him to Dr. Batista since he was 8 weeks old. Upon my first visit, he gave me tips on training, potty training and recommendations on food brands. I have always had good experiences when coming here. The wait when I arrive is usually no more than 5 minutes and the ladies at the front desk always pet and talk to my dog. My dog has never felt anxious when we go here.In the examining room, when Dr. Batista comes in, he pets and talks to my dog to make him feel comfortable and has even sat on the floor with my dog to give him vaccines. My standard poodle is, what everyone at the office has nicknamed him, "the troublemaker." He eats things around the house and I can't tell you how many times I've called the office during off hours to ask questions on what my little guys has recently consumed. My call is almost always returned and Dr. Batista has always been patient with answering all my questions. I decided to go to his clinic merely because of the fact that I live less than a mile away, so we often walk. However, I am extremely pleased with the service and always highly recommend to others. Lucky Pancho is our Therapy Rescue Cat at The Perfect Circle. Dr. Batista saved his life almost 4 years ago and he has brought such joy to me and our members. He is part of our family. Lucky Pancho got sick 2 weeks ago and had to have two molars removed and his teeth cleaned. I have been taking my 4 chihuahuas to this dr. for quite a while. One of my dogs had neck and back problems, and this doctor referred me to a rehab center. Scheduled an appointment with this other doctor and within a few months I can see a big difference in her. On one of the visits, the dog started hacking (coughing) and asked if my dog was doing this constantly. I told her she has spouts of this hacking but more at night when she's totally relaxed. She was nice enough to take her stethoscope and check her heart and lungs. When my other Chihuahua wasn't feeling well around the 6th of Jan. 2017, I brought her to Dr. Bautista as I noticed her gums were inflamed. He checked her out and gave me meds for her and at one point savannah's name came up and when he found out that another vet had listened to my dogs heart and lungs, this evil monster ( dr batista) started to rant and rave like a monster came out of him. He was very unprofessional, yelling and disrespecting me in front of clients and staff telling me that he was her dr, and I should not have let the other vet listen to her heart or lungs. Not only would he not let me say a word but the more he kept thinking about it the madder s he got. He told me he would no longer be the vet to my four Chihuahuas and for me to get out of his office. I was really upset because after all the years I have been going to him, he finally showed his true self.I have never disrespected this doctor, have paid him thousands with an S - of dollars. This doctor (if you want to call him one) is a very belligerent, mean,unprofessional, person, which I believe, if he was a person with a heart would've appreciated this and discussed it with me instead of being an SOB. Upon checking reviews under yelp, all the negatives are true. If you want to save your dog DO NOT GO to this doctor. He is a mean worthless man. All I know, this was a blessing in the disguise.At this time I am so so so very happy I am no longer having my babies go to this SOB. Take my word for it stay away. On the other hand, The office staff including Liz is a beautiful wonderful person who really really cares about the animals.  I'm sorry I won't be dealing with Liz anymore. I will let all my friends that I have referred him to, know about the situation that happened in his office and hoping they will take into consideration this unprofessional outburst and do what is best for their cats & dogs. We have two cats and two dogs. Very happy with the care they have received at the Care Corner. I had the Wellness plan for three years at the big chain vet. While it was generally "okay", but the vets changed every six months, and were not honest about what was a necessity vs. a source of just making them money. So, I really appreciate the personalized, honest and quick service I get at Care Corner. Dr. Batista doesn't push products or services to increase costs. And his estimates for surgeries have been spot on- no additional surprises. My dogs are family- they go to day care three days a week and travel with me across the country and internationally. So I want the best health care I can get so there are no health surprises. Satisfied that I am getting it here. Read Less

I have 5 dogs and 6 cats whom I love dearly and care for immensely.  With this many animals, the odds are simply against you, accidents and illnesses are bound to occur.  Time after time, Dr. Batista has analyzed, diagnosed and treated my pets with grace and success. Of course, life, in it of itself, is precious and volatile. We love these animals and we can't envision life without them.  There will be moments when your animal's improvement is out of your control and out of the vet's control. VETS ARE DOCTORS, NOT GOD.  HEALTH IS SCIENCE, NOT A GUARANTEE. Dr. Batista ensures you understand that--just as much as he strives for your pet's health and safety. He is intelligent, inquisitive, and caring.  Animal care is costly, no doubt about that--but every penny I've spent at Care Corner has been well worth the peace of mind and the positive outcome. I have yet to see any other veterinarian come close to the amount of attention that he pays to detail and thoroughness. Then again, its been 12 years since I took any of my animals to anyone other than Doctor Batista. I am a little shocked at some of the bad reviews here.  I am not saying they are not true; it might have been a bad day.  All I know is that at least with me, Dr. Batista has been very serviceable, patient, thorough, compassionate, and fair in pricing.  He is pretty no nonsense, and you can tell he really loves those animals he cares for.  The office staff is friendly and attentive, and I especially have a high opinion of his assistant  Liz.  I have been there for regular check-ups, shots, cleanings, digestive problems, x rays, you name it ... never a complaint.  Wait time can be a little bad, but that's in most medical offices, human or non.  Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Batista. HENRY BATISTA is RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! NEWS FLASH -- when you PAY for service you're SUPPOSED to GET SERVICE. I took my dog to get checked out because her gums were inflamed. Batista told me it was a trapped baby tooth (clearly, something that should have been found when I took her to the vet last week) and just walked out. I went to the front desk to schedule an appointment for a surgery, saw him right behind me, and began to ask questions about my dog. Apparently, he was  INCONVENIENCED and raised his voice to sarcastically say that there is a "limit" to the service he provides to me! REALLY?! A "limit". HE ONLY GAVE ME TWO MINUTES OF HIS TIME and answered NO questions! I won't be going back there and I recommend that if you want a caring vet --  look for it elsewhere. Read Less

Dr. Baptista treated my laso Apso Kiko and pug Midnight throught 8 years of age. The appointment techs issued appts the same day or the following day, many times on saturday. Dr. Baptista always expressed joy to see my puppies and was very informative, concise and willing to work with me. A few times I got a break in fees for bring them at the same time for care. Dr. Baptista made follow-up calls to my home regarding progress and current state of health for both Midnight & Kiko. A few times he recommended over the counter ointments to save on cost. To fill prescriptions, I was a call away and ready to pick up at a moments notice. I no longer live in Miami Lakes.
