I just moved to the area and my two datschounds have chronic conditions. One has dry eye and the other multiple skin allergies. High Springs Animal Clinic treated both dogs and were very helpful when they were in need of vaccinations. I'm very happy with their treatments and results. The charges were also very reasonable. Dr. Cohen is very nice, but the over the top pricing doesnt do it. For flea tick heartworm treatment, the basic puppy shots it was over $500. I spend less then $52 a year on shots at the low cost clinic. Read Less

Dr. Cohen and staff are amazing. I have two fur babies, my cats, Cypress and Cookie. Dr. Cohen has been so patient with my making and cancelling appointments, due to my crazy, loving Cypress. I made an appt to board my dog over 30 days in advance. they have seen her since she was a puppy. Today I took her in to drop her off, one tech and I took her back to the cages, another came in and said she didnt think they could keep her becuaes shes aggressive. She checked with the vet, who suggested I try someplace else. Im on my way out of town to celebrate my daughter and grandsons birthday at the beach. I have had to forfeit this celebration thanks to the poor service of this vet. Not to mention the cost of the rental unit!!!!! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I brought in a Kitten that I found along the road today. He was covered in fleas and could hardly lift his head. I took him to High Springs Animal Hospital due to the high rating that I saw on Google maps. I called and they told me to come right in. When I got there, the receptionist acknowledged that I was there, but did not put me into a room though it was very obvious that the kitten needed medical attention. When I finally got in a room, I waited in the for at least 15 minutes while employees walked in and out of the room to grab supplies. When the veterinarian finally can in the room she hardly looked at the kitten and did not do a physical examination. She went into another room and got a can of 9 lives to feed to him. I expressed multiple times that I wanted to keep him if there was any chance of saving him. He was slightly neurologic [he may have been hit by a car] so the vet called animal control and gave me no other option but to have them come take him. She told me that they would quarantine him for 24 hours and that if he made it I would be able to adopt him. To make matters worse, she offered me a healthy kitten up for adoption. I was there to save the life of the kitten that I had found, not to take home one of their safe and healthy kittens. I found her comment very unprofessional and rude. Not to mention the fact that she didn't express concern for the kitten I had found. I left and called animal control on my way home. Animal control told me that he may be euthanized after he gets to its headquarters. I told her that I was very interested in keeping him and she said that he would have to quarantined for 10 days because he was neurologic and could potentially have rabies. She told me to call back in 2.5 hours for an update. I called back the minute the 2.5 hours was up. They euthanized him. I am a veterinary technician. I practiced in Pennsylvania for 4 years and just moved down to Florida recently. My practice would never have handled a situation like this the way they did. Especially if the client had expressed that they wanted to keep the animal. I am sickend and appalled at everything that happened today and I would never take my own animals to High Springs Animal Hospital. Read Less

A warm, caring Veterinary practice.   Dr Cohen and her staff share the warmth of a rural setting with the expertise and professionalism of a world class practice.   She is kind, thorough, and an excellent doctor. I was really disappointed with their vet tech, first of all when she entered the room she simply reached out to pet my dog without letting him sniff her (big no-no) then proceeded to tell me to control my dog because he barked at her, secondly she couldn't even hold my 70 pound dog still for the doctor to do what she needed then began to hit him on the head because he wasn't listening to her...Needless to say this very much upset me. The doctor herself is the only reason I am giving this place two stars, she was very kind to both myself and my dog. The visit was a little pricey but that wasn't my biggest problem. Read Less

DONT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS TO THIS FILTHY HELL HOLEI took my dog to this so called "professional" the office was disgusting, not cleaned at all. The people were rude as ever! I was told it would be 30-43 dollars for a visit, and it was more. She was adding on more and more tests that had just been done months before, she didn't even spend 5 mins with my dog. The assistant spent more time then her. She was not very friendly, compassionate, or loving towards my dog as I had read on the fake reviews..I know they're fake because each place they're posted has a different first and last name,  and it's exactly the same thing, word for word. I spoke with someone else after my dog was traumatized by this woman, and she said that she use to take her dogs to her, and she stopped because the woman didn't know what the hell she was doing, her EXACT WORDS were "I wouldn't even take my worst enemies dog to that vet" apparently this woman needs to go back to school, she said that she gave her dogs meds that she shouldn't of, and that weren't even for what she said they were. I'm very disappointed.. Oh and as I said on cleanliness, the assist sprayed something on her 100 year old nasty looking exam table and didn't even wipe down the entire table. Just a little spot. We didn't know where we were going so we found it and drove past it, nobody was there, an hour later, again nobody was there. Another person wrote on here that she was very aggressive with his puppy. She's far from professional, she doesn't look very clean, she's not friendly, I don't even think she likes dogs. She reminded me of an old nasty cat lady. Please don't take your animals to this woman, she doesn't know what she's doing. SHES BEEN SUED BEFORE OVER MISDIAGNOSING AND KILLING ANIMALS! If you value your pets well being, and it's part of your family, take it somewhere else. She's suppose to be low cost, but she's not. She's higher then the place not even a mile away. Dr. Laura Cohen and Co. are the most compassionate, wonderful veterinarians I've encountered, ever. My beloved 13 year old dog Duke had his teeth cleaned and glaucoma test while under sedation today.
