I have read some of the reviews and I'm honestly appalled at the fact that people have had "bad experiences" here. I recently had to take my 2 year old male cat for urethral obstruction. He stayed for about a week and had surgery. From the moment I got there I was greeted and Ralphie was quickly taken to the back. The front desk staff were very helpful and you can genuinely tell they cared. In my opinion that says a lot because they're the faces that you first see once you enter. They may be pricy, yes. BUT you get what you pay for. Their service is excellent and as soon as I walked out of there I knew Ralphie was in the best hands. Although many may disagree but I think that if you see your pets as your babies then, there is no limit to what you'll do for them. I could sleep calmly because I knew that if there is one place in south Florida where he would be given the very best treatment it would be here.
Dr. Gluhak, Dr. Spahn and the amazing Dr. Horgan kept me informed at all times. So I have to thank them for saving my little one. I truly never felt alone or unsatisfied. And a very special thanks to Renee, the hospital's liason. She is truly the sweetest most attentive person. Ralphie is now back to his normal life healthy and fit. Thank you! And please, for anyone thinking about the bad reviews.... DO NOT BELIEVE. These people care.

Cash making machine. Expect to be billed for every napkin and bandaids. You will likely receive a good vet who will go as far as call you back at night to report on the procedure. However, expect to spend time going over your bills and burning through cash. If there is a balance left on your account the hospital will wave the obligation to complete the treatment, and you will be directed elsewhere.

The veterinarian would have overdosed my dog! He told me to give half a tablespoon of benadryl. I questioned him twice about it to make sure I heard correctly. I even called the clinic back to confirm...
The veterinarian would have overdosed my dog! He told me to give half a tablespoon of benadryl. I questioned him twice about it to make sure I heard correctly. I even called the clinic back to confirm, and that's what he wrote on the chart. I am grateful every day that I am an ER nurse who double checks dosages. He meant half a teaspoon, not tablespoon, a difference of more than twice the proper dose. Had I been a lay person, I never would have questioned it, and the results could have been tragic.

I had to bring my dog, Cooper, here for an emergency and he had to stay there for a couple of nights. It was pretty pricy but overall I am so happy with the service I got here. Saving a dogs life is not cheap. Every time I called to check on him everyone knew his name, I got phone calls constantly with updates. They even helped me out with pricing since I am so young. My treatment was originally $3000 and they managed to pull some strings and it was brought down to $2000. All of the doctors here were friendly. I was put into a room right away and was helped immediately. If my dog ever needs immediate attention I will always bring him here! You can truly trust the doctors here.

Don't go here!!! We were new to the area and someone said they used to take their dog here, so we went. It has been nothing but an expensive nightmare. They insisted on giving our 16 year old pet vaccinations that aren't needed and wanted to initiate a $700-900 tooth cleaning on the same dog - but the night after the vaccinations and exams, she "all of a sudden" developed a major neurological issue that is now causing us to put her down just days after going to this horrible place. The doctors at this place didn't warn of us anything or find anything... they simply want us to spend hundreds or actually thousands of more dollars for monitoring so they can figure it out. I will drive the 50 miles now to my old vet from now on until I can find one I can trust because American Medical Center at Cooper City is not trustworthy!!! Don't take your pet here.

Ive been to this hospital twice for emergency and each time they did a great job with my dogs and caring for them and making sure that my fogs left healthy and happy. And price was it was great. They housed my pit in and oxygen cage for 2 nights, did x rays and all in all it came out to $800 and if u ask me thats not bad. Very friendly staff and vets.

Do not bring your pet here if you want someone who cares. My neighbor kicked my little Chihuahua and broke his leg and I went in there with my last $175 and asked if they could please help him and they didn't even want to do the xrays unless we paid the full 300 plus the $94 exam fee. They wouldn't give him any pain medication or anything unless we paid more.. There was a kid in the next room I could hear crying and begging, that the dog was his best friend and the only thing his father left him when he died, and the nurse said to him the best I can do is $1000. No emotion, just cold hearted. She told my husband I'm sorry this is a business. So long story short I went there and wasted the little bit of money I had and left with a dog with a broken leg not knowing what to do. They wouldn't even give us advice to keep him comfortable in the meantime. What a shame that these people disguise themselves in nurses and doctors uniforms, when they are just there for the money. Manipulating cold hearted deceitful and greedy. with all the people that walk in there that are able to pay full price, you would think they wouldn't mind helping a little dog pro bono once in awhile.

I have read some of the reviews and I'm honestly appalled at the fact that people have had "bad experiences" here. I recently had to take my 2 year old male cat for urethral obstruction. He stayed for about a week and had surgery. From the moment I got there I was greeted and Ralphie was quickly taken to the back. The front desk staff were very helpful and you can genuinely tell they cared. In my opinion that says a lot because they're the faces that you first see once you enter. They may be pricy, yes. BUT you get what you pay for. Their service is excellent and as soon as I walked out of there I knew Ralphie was in the best hands. Although many may disagree but I think that if you see your pets as your babies then, there is no limit to what you'll do for them. I could sleep calmly because I knew that if there is one place in south Florida where he would be given the very best treatment it would be here.

The veterinarian would have overdosed my dog! He told me to give half a tablespoon of benadryl. I questioned him twice about it to make sure I heard correctly. I even called the clinic back to confirm, and that's what he wrote on the chart. I am grateful every day that I am an ER nurse who double checks dosages. I had to bring my dog, Cooper, here for an emergency and he had to stay there for a couple of nights. It was pretty pricy but overall I am so happy with the service I got here. Saving a dogs life is not cheap. Every time I called to check on him everyone knew his name, I got phone calls constantly with updates. They even helped me out with pricing since I am so young.
