Dr. Ferber is one of the best vets I've ever encountered. He is so passionate about animals and really cares. We came in since he is the closest herpetologist in the area because of our gecko and his eye. He quickly noticed the problem and helped us with getting him to feel better. Couldn't be happier with our experience. You can honestly tell animals are his passion. I'm seriously considering changing our dogs vet to Dr. Ferber. Dr. Ferber has been taking excellent care of my pets, and the pets of several of my friends for years. He is always calm and gentle with the animals, as well as thorough. Dr. Ferber misdiagnosed my guinea pig and I wasted hundreds of dollars. She was suffering from hair loss, and he ran tests on her and said she had fleas and yeast infection. We went through with the treatment and she kept losing more hair. I looked up her problem online and thought it was Ovarian Cysts at first, and he said it would cost an additional $300 or so to do an x-ray. I decided to take her to another vet (Animal House) instead to see Dr. Rupp. This vet did a physical examination on her (no x-ray, no tests) and diagnosed her with Ovarian Cysts. We went through with the surgery to spay her to remove the cysts, and her hair grew back out beautifully. If you have a guinea pig, I suggest you take him/her to see Dr. Rupp instead who has more experience with exotic pets than Dr. Ferber. Do not waste your money and time. More importantly, do not waste your PET'S time and get him/her properly treated before it's too late. Read Less

Dr. Ferber is an awesome vet! I take my ferrets there to see him as he's under the name of an "exotic animal vet" along with regular vet! Dr. Ferber is super nice, he aims to be gentle with my animals and he really knows what he's doing! I really love his staff is as well! Super nice people. Dr. Ferber is also VERY reasonable when it comes to pricing visits. He has a nice little aquarium of fish that me and my husband enjoy looking at in the waiting room while waiting to go into the little vet room with our ferrets in their stroller. We also brought in a kitten we had fostered for a little while that was found behind my husband's job at a restaurant, and Dr. Ferber did just as well with that little kitty just as he has done fantastic with my ferrets! I've taken both my pets here for quite some time and always take them for their annual check ups and vaccines. I recently had an emergency with one of my pets and they were very nice and put me at ease throughout the whole situation, although they made it clear over the phone about the prices for the procedures and if I was willing to pay them before going. Regardless, I never really had any complaints except that they are a bit on the expensive side. I always met with the female vet, I forget her name. Wanting to cut costs, I recently switched to a different vet that I found on Groupon with good reviews for their annual vaccines and check ups a couple of days ago. Imagine my surprise during the examination when the vet told me my dogs (in particular the one that had the emergency about 2 months ago) were in need of a deep teeth cleaning and the aforementioned pet would need several extractions and showed me how several of his teeth are loose and about to fall off and need to removed ASAP. This new vet indicated how urgent the matter was and it needed attention ASAP. I don't take my dogs to groomers to save money and especially because my dogs have short hair that doesn't need to be cut. I do my best bathing them and brushing their teeth regularly. I also take care of their teeth using different dental chews and liquids for their water. I always take my dogs here and it boggles me that the vet never mentioned before the poor condition my one dog's teeth were in and how they needed immediate attention. I thought everything was fine with my dogs. I love spoiling my dogs and will do anything for them, so although I like to save money, it is not an object when it comes to the well being of my furry babies. When I took him for the emergency 2 months ago, the vet had mentioned he needed a professional teeth cleaning at a groomers but not a deep cleaning, so I didn't make sure to do it urgently and I suppose that's my fault.  She never warned me of the dangers and possible consequences with my delay. Not to mention, teeth needing extraction don't happen overnight, I'm sure when I took them last year, the vet should've seen some early signs of the condition of his teeth. Unfortunately, I'm ignorant when it comes to my pets' health and I've never had experience with any other pets, so I don't know any better. Since the vet didn't warn me or try to point me in the right direction, now my doggy is paying the price and is going to be missing at least 2 teeth, maybe more.  He has an appointment next week for the deep cleaning (not here), so I'll find out then how many must be removed. :( Read Less

Dr.Ferber's Animal Hospital is by far the best animal hostpital we've ever used. Not only is Dr. Ferber himself extremely smart, kind, and very knowledgeable about all things small animal, his staff is also very polite and professional. The office is simple and clean, and it's obvious that people are here because they're good people who love animals and not people who are trying to take your money.We have dwarf hams, and when one got very sick with diabetes we took him in to see Dr. Ferber. He devised a diet plan for us that extended our little guy's life significantly. When, unfortunately, his illness caught up with him and we had to put him to sleep to end his suffering, both Dr.Ferber and his staff were so kind about it. I know to most people it's just a hamster, but we really loved our pet and I was so grateful that they really respected our loss. We even got a letter afterwards, and it made us both feel much better about having to do such a sad thing. The little touches make a big difference.All in all, A+ experience at the best of times and worst of times. Truly dedicated veterinarians and animal hospitals are hard to find, but for sure we found a good one in Dr. Ferber's Animal Hospital. Read Less

We have had a great experience with Dr. Faber and the other veterinarian that works there. The staff is great and when your puppy is a sick as mine was (twice a week mange dips) they make you feel like your puppy is a top priority for them. The only thing is that I'm normally a bargain hunter but the services here are not a bargain :/Sometime you just have to pay for the type of service you want. Dr. Ferber has taken care of three of my pets (an adorable poodle mix and two precious Dobies) during the past 26 years.  Twice our family had to make the painful decision to euthanize due to cancer.  We were devastated.  Dr Ferber and his staff were so amazing and consoling and caring.  They understand that a pet is a much beloved part of the family. Dr Ferber called us later in the evening to talk to us and console us.  Now, Dr Ferber and his wonderful staff have helped us with a rescued Dobie.  The poor baby had been beaten and starved.  He was is very rough shape but thanks to the keen eye and great diagnostic skills of Dr. Ferber, our sweet boy came through the troubles and is doing fantastic.  Words fail to convey the gentle spirit, great skill and caring approach taken by Dr Ferber.
