Well I can go on about how bad this place is but to put it short I took my dog there Dr. tapper he shows no interest in the animal, my dog tried to say hi to him he completely ignored her and mind you I have the sweetest dog OK next I take my dog to Ian to get groomed and I told him how nervous she was and he tells me no she's not nervous you're nervous which got me really upset because I was not nervous and she is very afraid and nervous of grooming and he later found that out.. he kept her there for four hours and after four hours I called and said I would like to come pick her up and he said no it will be later in the afternoon I have to take my time with her I wasn't interested in my dog being in a cage so I went to pick her up and he started screaming at me the guy has no patience he couldn't even explain something to me he just kept raising his voice and talking to me nasty and I stayed calm and I should have known not to bring her there because the week before I took my dog there to show him how I like my dog groomed and he was really rude and he kept putting me down and telling me that I need to calm down mind you I was very calm. He just projects everything on to other people anyway while I left he tells me good luck with your next Groomrr I said you know you're very rude he goes I don't care in the nastiest voice I recorded our conversation and if any of you would like to hear it let me know because this man should not be grooming animals he has no heart and my dog looks like a frog right now she's super uneven and looks like a mess. Her ear cut is two very noticeable sizes this guy has no clue how to groom. Wow what a nasty person he needs a new job that has nothing to do with animals. Yeah so basically we're never going back there and my neighbor and friend up the road said she stopped going there as well so I'm starting to catch on. I got my first pup, a doberman, and wanted to get her ears cropped.  Dr. Tapper and staff did a fantastic job with the surgery and with the taping of her ears.  We did the surgery at 10 weeks old and by around 5 months old they were holding up perfectly.  Besides the cropping, the vet and his staff are very nice, professional, and approachable.  I was driving from Miami for the procedure and the taping and I'm glad I did because the dog looks great! About a year ago my dog was dying and she needed immediate surgery. I called this hospital referred by a friend, and they were so nice and helpful. The Doctor had a day off and when he heard about my puppy situation, he said he will come in just to perform the surgery. Wow... he show his love for animals. As a new patient, disappointed with Hollywood Animal Hospital, I love the attention I’ve received from Dr. Tapper and Dr. Nicole at Emerald Hills...however, I ordered medication refills last Friday (well over $200 worth , and some were needed for pain and inflammation).. I was to pick up on Saturday.. as a new patient I did not realize the office closed at 1:00pm on Saturday (Hollywood is open late on Saturday).I was running errands on my only day off.. I called to make sure meds were ready and realized that at 12:55 I only had 5 minutes to get there..after pleading my case, I said I could be there by 1:10-1:15 at the latest.. could someone please make an exception and wait for me..??? Great staff, even greater doctors. I came here after making the decision of switching to a new vet a couple of years back after a bad experience with our previous vet. Well, I’m glad because we found Dr. Tapper, Dr. Dan and their team. Special thank you to Dr. Tapper for being very considerate and genuine. He is very down to earth guy and you can tell that he truly does care for his clients. My dog got old and developed an aggressive tumor, Dr. Tapper was very considerate and other than his best clinical judgment he offered his honest opinion. His suggestions helped my family and I make the right decision and we thank him for it. Although it was extremely hard, we decided to let our beloved pup of 15yrs go. Nice enough vets but they refuse to call in prescriptions, even for something as simple as heart guard so you are forced to buy from their office. They still charge you for the office visit and still refuse to call in a prescription even if you get the heart worm test at their office. Makes no sense. Won't be going back Read Less

The best vet's office I've ever been to. The girls up front are super nice. They work with you and only give you things your pet needs and don't try to squeeze extra money out of you. This is the first place I've been to that I feel like they actually care about your animal and not about their wallets. Dr. Tapper and the team told me to bring my 4 year old cat, Frankie, right in and drop him off when he suddenly took ill. He wasn't eating, drinking or going to the bathroom and I could tell he felt warm. Dr. Tapper called me to update me on his examination and they treated Frankie with an antibiotic/anti-inflammatory, which brought the temperature down. I won't have the actual test results in until tomorrow, but my boy is already feeling better and is eating now, too. I can't say enough about how quickly and competently they handled Frankie's case. I only will say that I am still convinced that Dr.Tapper is top specialist in his field despite my crutial pain that I lost my fur friend yesterday... I only will tell you this as a pet owner look for signs and educate yourself as much as you can and once you are at the vets office insist on educating you about taking care of your fur friend... Dr. Tapper is the BEST!!! My precious angel Onyx was bleeding internally and was on deaths door on November 11, 2015. Dr. Tapper rushed in to saved his life. The surgery was a rough one and Onyx wasn't recovering very quickly. That week we had to go to see Dr. Tapper everyday. He had to get shots and we had to keep an eye on it. The next 2 weeks we had to go ever other day. Him and his team were so wonderful the whole time!!! He didn't even charge for all those days. They really did seem to CARE about his wellbeing and knew my finances weren't the best in the world, being a server that just had to pay thousands of dollars on a surgery to save my baby. This day and age it's hard to find a vet that you can really trust and that cares. Dr. Tapper is both!!!!! Everyday we came in the whole team was excited to see how much better Onyx was doing. Friendly faces that truly cared!! I am very grateful and thankful to the whole team and highly recommend them!!! I've been coming here for over 20 years Dr. Tapper is absolutely amazing words cannot express how I feel about him as a veterinarian and person. This is a place where you're not another number and you get what you pay for. If you want the best care for your animal this is where you need to go. My shitzu Gizmo lasted 19 years and one month to the day for the simple fact that Dr. Tapper is amazing and I didn't sacrifice to keep his health up including full bloodwork and dental cleaning annually with your normal vaccinations. The other veterinarians that work there are also cut from the same cloth as their leader. My American Staffordshire terrier Myah Is 12 years old and very healthy almost like a puppy despite the light aging because of the care of Emerald Hills Animal Hospitol. They're not cheap but they're not expensive the health of your animal shouldn't be sacrificed to save a buck if you can afford it. This is not the place that's going to tell you to do surgery if they don't feel there's going to be a positive result. My 11 year old Golden Retriever went in for a routine teeth cleaning and a tooth extraction when Dr. Tapper noticed her abdomen did not concave when she was on the exam table. Xrays and ultrasounds were performed over the next 2 days, followed by abdominal surgery to remove her spleen and a 3 1/2 pound mass. Dr. Tapper and his staff called daily to ask how she was doing after surgery. So caring and thoughtful. Happy to say biopsies were negative, no cancer, and the wonderful Dr. Tapper saved her life by instinctively knowing something just wasn't right. Thank you Dr. Tapper. You're the best. Read Less

I don't know what it is, but this office is beyond slow.  Whenever I have brought my dogs, it takes forever for the receptionist to realize someone is talking to her, then usually the first one tells me she is waiting on another one, finally some one comes, and a third person shows up from the back to take the dog.  How many veterinary assistants does it take to change a light light bulb.  Any which way, I always need to space out time even just for drop off or pick up for boarding. We had to have our 2 dogs put down, quoted 77.00 for euthanasia with general cremation and no ashes returned. Took them after heart wrenching decision. Made appt. that was not good for us, but fit Dr's schedule as he had to go to daughters soccer game after work......this after being clients for many years and thousands of dollars....nevertheless, Dr and staff very understanding and sympathetic . Procedure was done with great care for the dogs and us. Went to pay bill and was 494.00 for both???? Really!!! Charged 51.00 each for office visit plus, general cremation plus haz mat, plus  2 injections each!!!! If it wasn't bad enough to be in such emotional despair, but then get screwed over financially ! No waiting time in a room full of animals. Clean. Timely appointments. Dr. Tapper and his staff are just wonderful. I had to euthanize one of my cats in my last experience, and they made it so I understood the process fully and I could stay with my cat to ease her and send her 'off' in a private room with just moments to say goodbye with the Doctor right there. No long drawn out drama. For her, it was dignified and humane and for me, massive tears, of course, but an understanding staff. I highly recommend Dr. Tapper and this Animal Hospital. My only caveat is to question every charge that might appear on your bill BEFORE any procedures. If you don't feel as though something is necessary, then, tell them right up front. Don't let your emotions get in the way of your wallet. Read Less

I just moved into the neighborhood and a couple of months ago brought home an American Eskimo puppy. I chose this vet simply out of convenience (they are less than a 1/4 mile from my house), but the staff has been great. They are quite a bit more expensive than other vets in the area, so I wouldn't choose them if budgeting is of major concern, however they are easy to make appointments with, are always very friendly and the premises are spotless. The vets are friendly and my dog loves them. It did cost me around $500 for the full series of puppy shots, rabies tag and flu vaccination, so keep that in mind. I have not been here for a regular visit, so I'm not sure how much they charge. I would rate them higher if the costs weren't so expensive! Read Less

I have to say I am thrilled with the work of this vet.   I have a rescue dog, and have had her for about two months or so, and the vet has here healthy and happy.   Each time I have walked int he door, except on the initial visit, the staff has known my dog, not always me, but always the dog.  Though, like most dogs, mine is nervous when we arrive, the staff goes out of their way to comfort not only her, but me as well.  When she was spade a couple weeks ago, they let her stay in her crate while she waited and recovered, they just put it in the larger cage they keep most dogs in.  I was glad, because my dog loves that crate and it is her favorite place when she is afraid, so I am sure that it helped calm her.  They always call after surgery, or shots within a day to make sure the dog is still doing well, and when she was there to be spade, I was called through the day for updates.The entire place is spotless, it is not over powered with pet dander, and there is a discount if you  tell them that your dog is a rescue dog, but it does not seem to be a set discount, just a break on some of the prices.I will happily continue to use this vet for all of my dog's needs throughout her life, or my stay in south Florida.
