I have to say that I do not believe there are any vets in existence today that are straight up! Even in Human Medicine the old family GP seems to have gone extinct! Its become a well engineered money making racket. There is no pre-disclosure whatsoever as to hidden costs. You cant get what you ask for, you always seem to be manipulated into a very uncomfortable or compromised situation through the basic emotional attachment you have to your animal. I was very clear right from the start that money was an issue for me. Based on a repetitive past I was very specific on what I inevitably knew he needed and what I wanted for my pet, Antibiotics for a repetitive condition my boy has. At $150 for the antibiotics I was going to hurt but I had to do at least that much for him. The other 7 items that were being suggested would have been a down payment on a new automobile! I get the bill, almost $290! What part of "money is an issue for me right now" was not understood. We just lost our other dog not 4 months ago. That little interaction in excess of $800.00. What we were being told they could do to help her would be over $4000.00 at minimum! As much as $6000.00. Then meds for the rest of her life close to $200 a month. We opted to remove a part of our heart instead, We let her go.I find modern day medicine despicable. I have zero respect for vets these days! I dread going to them. I love my dog, I have been brought up with animals, I would feel very empty without them in my life, but I have to say I simply will not have another. I take my dog here to get groomed, and the groomer Carla is amazing! She always does a great job with my little one, and makes sure that she always looks her best. I have not found another groomer who actually takes the time to customize my dog's and my needs; add the cutest bowties, spray her hair with different colors each time, give her a mohawk (upon request), and overall make her look like the cutest pup that everyone wants to steal. Not only that, but Carla is also gentle with my pup, and my dog does not seem to mind going there for her haircuts. Overall, Carla is an amazing groomer, who not only displays love and care for dogs, but is also extremely talented in her profession as a groomer. I couldn't be more pleased!!!!! Thank you, Carla! Danisha is the worst employee ever. I called recently to try and make arrangements to bring in our family pet. I am very thorough when it comes to my selection of offices/ hospitals for care and treatment. I did extensive research on your company and thought the company was absolutely outstanding. When I did call, to my dismay, I was greeted with a terrible attitude and what seemed like an unwillingness to help by Danisha Fawkes. I was very disappointed and disgusted with the way she conveyed hersef during our conversation. Intially I thought maybe she was just having a bad day and I had just caught her at an inoppurtune time. I have never been one to complain or make a fuss so I simply asked to speak to someone else just so I could get what I needed accomplished and get on with my day. Its safe to assume she took offense to my request. She informed me she was the office manager and that if I needed anything I would have to do it with her. From there she spoke to me very condescendingly and rushed. I have never been so livid in my entire life. She has the worst customer service skills I have ever come across. I will never bring my beloved pet to a place that employees someone so inconsiderate and rude even if it was my only option. I will without a doubt deter all my family and friends from this company. Every time I bring my pets here, they are treated with so much love and care. The medicine is excellent. Both of my pets were diagnosed with a medical condition a treated accordingly. I have not had any issues with the medical recommendations or disagreed with them. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone I know. Usually VCA hospitals have a great reputation across the country. I myself had a great experience when I lived in ft Myers. My pet came here for a dental cleaning and a series of adverse affects followed. The last of which was a lump on my dogs pelvis. The doctor took X-rays and "thought" it could be a hernia. She didn't make any sense and I wasn't 100% sold on her diagnosis. My gut feeling told me to get a second opinion. It turns out it's not a hernia, the lump isn't even cancerous. Samples showed inflammatory cells! So not only did I waste $300 on X-rays the doctor at VCA isn't credible or knowledgable at all. Why is she even practicing? Unreal. Read Less

We recently relocated from Vermont to Florida with our two senior cats. I found a free wellness exam coupon and went there for their annual checkups, which were due. They have treated both of them for their various recent health issues. Dr. Thay is excellent with our cats, handles them with care and communicates well and honestly with their treatment options and prognosis. The gals in the front are also quite helpful and will answer any question they can. I can't speak on their pricing, because I did not compare. I don't believe in bargain shopping when it comes to my pets. Owning animals is an expense, any pet owner understands this undertaking when adopting.Read Less

The place is very nice and clean and doesn't smell! I started going there because I adopted a pet from the Humane Society and they provide the first visit free up to a certain amount (I think it was $250). Decided to stay with them. It seems a little bit more expensive than the other vet I was going to, but I like the doctors here. I just moved to Florida and I had only been to one other vet, so I can't really compare.They take the time to explain everything to you and they call you to follow up on how your pet is doing. DR. BUCKWEITZ "DR. B" IS A ROCKSTAR!!!! If I could give 1,000 stars I would! I recently relocated from CT to FL with my husband and two dogs. My 12 1/2 yr old cattledog Quigley recently had surgery to remove a parathyroid gland with a tumor. She has always been a healthy dog, working our horse ranch. In 2010 she was diagnosed with Atypical Cushings, had gotten Lyme's disease in 2012 and then this tumor in 2013. Needless to say, she's keeping us very busy! I was very concerned moving her so soon after surgery but didn't have much of a choice. I did my research and because I used VCA Animal Hospitals in CT and had a great experience with them both, I opted that route again. I made my appoint with Dr. Buckweitz "Dr. B" for vaccines and an annual to establish a new relationship with her. SURPRISE!!! On the day of the appointment, our Quigs came down with fever, no appetite, trembling, weakness, limping, the list goes on. So lucky me...I had an appointment and brought her in. Dr. B was unbelievable with her approach, interest in her history and Quigley's comfort level, she prescribe and sent us home. Quigs did much better and then this happened again 2 more times over the next few months. She had to be hospitalized 1x as well for very high fever. To this day, we are still working through the symptoms and in conjunction with specialist to help Quigley through this and I am confident, with Dr. B at the helm, all will be resolved! Even though this case is complex to say the least with several conditions that are rare...Dr. B isn't the bit intimidated by it. Her training and professionalism shine through with her eagarness to be on this case and see it through and she has go above and beyond for us! Not only has Dr. B checked in with me by calling, emailing and texting every couple days or when Quigs is doing poorly, every day, she spoke directly with the specialists and wrote up referral letters. She is so on top of this, I can breath knowing my Quigs is in good hands. I haven't known Dr. B for long, but for the short time I have....she has demonstrated to me what a truly compassionate, highly trained professional she is and I am so grateful to her and her staff for all the amazing "GOING THE EXTRA MILE" things she and they have done for us. The ladies in the office and the vet staff also rock! Melissa, the very caring and supportive vet tech was a breath of fresh air! Both Quigs and I loved her and immediately she made me feel comfortable. Lisa, the office manager is always on top of things. I've needed 100 things faxed and sent, RX's called in, etc... and she's been on it for me. Jen, the medicine specialist knows all you could ever want to know about the flea, tick, heartworm meds, etc... And I have to admit, I wasn't comfortable at first switich from Trifexis to Comboguard and Jen offered to go over everything but I insisted on speaking with Dr. B. Boy was I humbled... Dr. B came out and laughed...she said, "Jen knows more about this stuff than I do!" I felt bad and apologized to Jen but she was great and understood and sick pet's worry about these things. She is so sweet and supportive and trust me...she knows her stuff! Michelle, Bronson and Kelly, I had some experience with and look forward to more. They all are so helpful and supportive.
