A good and fast clinic but definitely mixed feelings about the staff. Service: Fairly Quick. You're in and out. Took my dog, spent about an hr here in total but that's because there were a lot of other animals. They were all taken care of quickly. & that don't overcharge!Staff: The only staff member that makes this place worth going to is Michael. He's phenomenal. He's very sweet, and caring. He's very easy to talk to. I have heard good things about the Dr. but haven't seen him. As far as some of the other staff, you better have thick skin because they're extremely blunt. Stinks worst clinic ever dont take your animal there find someone else who has a caring team and not there horrible attendants.It took me 3 hours.for.my dogs to have their nails clipped. Doctor is great, some of his staff isn't. We brought our dog for surgery. She was bleeding from mouth. They did Biopsy. We called back after a few days, one if his staff told me the results show no cancer.We were ecstatic. The next day they told us they made mistake, she does have cancer . This place is very affordable. Downside is no appointments. You will be here over 2 hours-not exaggerating. They operate off of a paper system. No computers so it is a little dated. Dr Gilley is a very knowledgeable and kind vet. If you have an emergency, this is not the place to go. For routine vaccines and heart worm and flea/tick meds I would definitely recommend. Read Less

Was here this morning to bring in my femaleboston terrier for a check-up. She has had a terrible allergic reaction since moving from NY to MIA. I always make sure to meet with Dr. Gilley himself when coming. Most have the vet-tech take their pets to the back, but I like to speak with the professional himself to voice my concerns. He has always been very nice and is very knowledgeable. He is also very honest, and will be straight up with you, while others want to charge crazy amounts. He told me immediately that miami is the worst place to own pets, there are many allergens in the air. He informed that allergy testing would be a waste of money, and apparently there are more and moreallergies being discovered everyday. He prescribed a new medication called apoquel, which so far seems to be working. Today, I also inquired about a flea-tick solution. He recommended Bravecto. However, I did some research on this chewabletablet for fleas and ticks, and read terrible reviews. I do plan on asking him about this. I am very particular when giving my dogs medications, we had a scare awhile back, and I do not want torelive it. I was HORRIBLY disappointed with this animal clinic.  Been going for a year now and have never even met the actual vet.  Went in tonight with my 14 Yr old dog and was told by a tech he needed surgery.   We tried to ask questions and he just kept repeating, "He needs surgery".  Went for a 2nd opinion and we were even able to go back with our dog (which you can't do at Gillys) and found out our dog has a heart murmur and most likely wouldn't have made it through surgery. It's sad to see the bad reviews, but I think they're in response to a specific staff person, who may no longer be there, but not about Dr. GIilley. When I lived in Florida, I had so many rescued pets after Hurricane Andrew and I would usually bring him about five pets at a time. He would give them excellent care and he would always take the time to listen and explain things, no matter how busy he was. And someimes not charge, or very little. He once treated and boarded a sick homeless cat for 2 weeks until my friend could keep it, and he did it all and didn't charge anything. So, Dr. Gilley is extremely compassionate with animals and he's an excellent vet. I have taken my dogs to Dr Gilley for more than 15 years  For people who don't get the no appointment concept by not scheduling appointments Dr Gilley can keep his fees low as he doesn't have to deal with no shows/ last minute cancellations.  So with Dr Gilley it may cost more time but his fees are very lowI have taken my dogs to other vets who proposed radical surgery and then went to Dr Gilley who explained in layman' terms why he disagreed.  I always followed his advice and my dogs have had great healthI did have to put one dog done last year as she was 17. I really dont like this facility and I feel that if they would tweek a few things it would more pleasurablele for their clientale. I drive about 15 miles to bring my dogs for their yearly checkup because it's inexpensive. But truthfully I wish they would allow pet owners to go back in the checkup room with their pets. It makes sense that if you want to ask questions you can do so while the doctor is doing the checkup. I don't trust the fact that they take your dog and you really  know if she was vaccinated at all or if they did anything that you asked them to do. When you arrive they always make you wait no matter how empty the waiting room is. I waited 15 minutes until someone came out from back office. It would be nice that someone would greet you at the counter after you signed in not having you sign in then after you sit calling you up again. It's not easy juggling an animal lso another tip would be to install leash clips underneath the counter so you can be hands free to pay or fill out forms.  I will continue coming here until I find a closer cheaper vet. I have been coming here awhile now. It is a bit of a drive, but the prices are VERY reasonable compared to other vets so it's worth it. With these fees, you don't get an appointment and the waiting room can get busy and chaotic. Best to come early. Dr. Gilley is a great vet and keeps our 2 dogs and 3 cats in good health. The staff can get harried but are courteous for the most part. Sadly, we have had to euthanize a dog and a cat here. Each time, we were allowed to go in the back and spend our final moments with them. WORST PLACE EVER! AVOID AT ALL COST. FILTHY, HOT and my dog almost DIED. Took my three year old dachshund back to Dr.Gilley because he was pooping and vomiting blood which was caused by an antibiotic given a week prior because of his back. After waiting an hour and a half to be seen (was third in line) went in with my dog he saw him for about a min. Told me to come back in an hour that he would keep him to run blood work. Came back, never saw him again. The lady in the front told me he had an "irritation" in his stomach, or give him the antibiotic and come back in two days. When they finally brought back my dog he was way worse than how I left him. I asked if he was dehydrated she said "no". Got in the car with my dog and had blood all over my shirt. RUSHED to another vet (Bustillo Animal Hospital) who saved my dogs life and had him under his care for two days. My dog was SEVERELY DEHYDRATED when I got there. I didn't really feel good about this place. The staff was nice, but they took my dog in the back to check her out and assured me that nothing would be done with out my consent. However when they brought her back out they informed me that they had already given her a shot. That made me very uncomfortable. I just moved to the area, so my pup Kota and I were new to Dr. Gilley's Animal Clinic. From what I saw, the clinic waiting area was clean. I went on a Friday at 9:30 AM and it took me about an hour for Kota to go in for her annual shots. Prices were ridiculously cheap compared to my past vet. What I don't like is that I cannot go in with my pup for her shots. One of the vet technicians will come out to the waiting area, pick up your pup, and take him/her back to the back office to render services. As far as a I know, my Kota monster received her shots but since I wasn't there I have to rely on the faith system and hope they did everything I paid for. Dr. Gilley's Clinic does not take appointments and accepts walk-ins only. And if you want your pup to see Dr. Gilley you must first call to see what days he will be in the office and go EARLY (like opening time).Receptionist's customer service was apathetic and you could tell she hated her life. She wasn't very helpful and her attitude was of a rebelling 15 year-old teenager. However, I appreciated that they didn't "push" and pressure me to purchase products and services like my past vet. My parents started taking their pets to Dr. Gilley before he even started his own practice 30 years ago and I've been taking my own to him for the past ten years. He has always been kind and compassionate. The prices are more than reasonable and they don't pressure you to buy services or products that aren't necessary. When I was about 7 years old, my mom and I were home alone when our 90-lb dog had a stroke. She called Dr. Gilley and he came to our house, picked him up and cared for him through the night. Our dog pulled through and lived for another 3 years. I don't think Dr. Gilley even charged us for saving his life. People get frustrated because the wait is long and Dr. Gilley isn't always available, but they need to understand that he has critical patients that they don't know about- emergencies come in through the back door and sometimes include injured police animals. If you need to see him, call before you go in and make sure that he is there. I've been going to Dr. Gilly for 30 years, since before he moved across the street. He has saved many of my animals but when he can't I have received nothing but compassion from him and his staff!! I won't go anywhere else...EVER! I once brought him a cat with an eye problem(she had been in a fight), he removed the eye,gave me antibiotics and charged me $0.00 NOTHING. He loves all his patients. I like this office, you only pay services you actually need. They don't pressure you to pay a "vet fee" or "vile fee" or any other crazy fees. If you don't see the vet, you pay for a vet!!! However, the wait can be very long, between 1-3 hrs, they do not make appointments, only walk ins. In other words, not a great place for emergencies, but great for " your average sick/well visits". The place might be crazy and the staff a little harsh, but today, my Bella(a 10lb Chihuahua-Poodle) is alive because of Dr Gilley and his crew. This morning Bella got hold of a Bufo Toad and she began vomiting, her limbs went stiff, and she was having seizures. On the way to the clinic we'd thought we'd lost her because her eyes were red and bulging, her tongue was swollen and bluish-black and she was screaming in pain. After spending hours in their clinic, Bella is now home with antibiotics and eye-drops and, though still disoriented from anesthesia, she is on her way to recovery. THANK YOU DR GILLEY!!! Read Less

I've been going to Gilley since I started living here in Homestead. I have two dogs and I always get excellent care for my dogs. And regarding their prices; I'm on disability I couldn't afford going anywhere else. They have an efficient staff. The staff speaks to you calmly regarding the medicines and how to administer them. WHEN WE FIRST GOT OUR DOG IT WAS THE FIRST SMALL DOG WE HAD, THE NEXT DAY I GOT A CALL FROM MY WIFE TELLING ME HE WAS DEAD. I WENT STRAIGHT HOME, AND HE DID LOOK DEAD BUT WHEN I SAID HIS NAME HE MOVED, SO I RUSHED HIM TO GILLEYS. THEY WERE PACKED BUT TOOK HIM IN BACK IMEDIATELY, IN 5 MIN THEY BROUGHT HIM BACK LOOKING LIKE NORMAL RUNNING AROUND AND HAPPY. APPARENTLY HE WAS IN A KIND OF DIABETIC SEIZURE THEY HAD GIVEN HIM VITAMINE 12 OR SOMETHING AND HE WAS FINE. I have never seen anything like this. I was shocked! Who is this Dr. Gilley? Nobody knows. They don't make appointments, they tell you to just show up. You walk into a room FULL of sick animals and the floor is covered in urine and vomit. When they call your name a tech comes out and takes your pet behind a door and a few minutes later they come out with the diagnosis and hand you back your pet. I was told my cat received a shot, but they couldn't tell me what kind of shot, and how do I know she even got this shot? Who is this vet? I felt like Dorothy in the Wizzard of OZ, the nightmare version. My questions were answered by the receptionist... what? I would much rather spend a few dollars more and take my pet to a more sanitary place where the vet can answer all my questions and I can give consent to give my cat a shot and know that she received it.
