I have been going to Dr Jeff and Dr Gary when they were on 20 when I first moved to Fl. In 1988. Now I go to the new office. Dr Jeff has always been so caring for all my animals. The staff is great. I always refer anyone that is looking for a Vet to them. Read Less

I've owned rescues all my life and always been a responsible pet owner this place is Highly over priced ... $25+ over average office visits .... not to mention all other services are higher than average.... tried to charge me and do tons of things ... never even calling the vet on paper work to go over what's been done and hasn't ...that would have been the professional thing to do .... my dog was sick and was made to sit outside office back door for two hours with my husband... I wish I could have been there things would not have went like this ... I feel place was unprofessional and takes advantage of the fact they are only vet around for many many miles .... definitely will drive further for better vet in the future Read Less

All of my animals : Horses, Sheep, Dogs, and Cats are cared for by this lovely vet! They have consistently worked with me on my schedule and have went above and beyond for all of my animals. I have gone to this facility in the past and knew that they are higher priced but in a pinch, I took my Great Pyrenees that had a broken leg.  I got her there at 4:30 pm and they told me they would need x-rays, pain meds and we would know more the next day. They demanded payment of over $500 for this.  They kept her overnight and when I went to doctor the next morning around 11:00 am, I was told that they wrapped her leg and they didn't have time to do surgery and to go somewhere else.  AND charged me another $180 for that!  I was referred by their front desk to a specialty clinic in Orange Park and when I asked about the pricing, I was told it would be the same there as it would be at Shelton. WRONG, after driving another hour to a specialist, they told me the surgery would be over $4,200 and that was giving me a discount!  Finally I was able to get a great surgeon in Lake City but should never had to go that far.  They were incredible!  I cannot say enough!  I will never take any of my animals to this hospital again and have spoken with others recently that have had even worse experiences and lost pets due to this practice.  Dr. Jeff is nice and many have had great reviews of him however my experience with this site over the past two years has been that they are way too expensive and this last issue will ensure that I never recommend them or go in their front door again! My husband and I moved here with our cats in 2014. Since then we have lost three. 20, 15 and 13 years aged when they passed over the Rainbow bridge. We had never heard of this before when we lived in SC. Had Dr. Jeff and staff not only explained the Rainbow bridge, made the arrangements for us and even mailed us condolence cards (which) the whole staff signed, I'm not sure we would still be sane. The two eldest girls were euthanized; we had them practically since birth, ...even bottle feeding one. The boy was an adoption in SC who went straight into my husband's arms upon adoption and died at home in my husband's arms. We still have an 11 yr old boy raised from kitten and adopted another male, this time as an adult companion. However, when his big sisters died he sank into depression, we all did. 3 cats passing over 3.5 years, 2 during the holidays. Now, we have adopted two girls. One has two speeds, mach 1 racing and drop to sleep. She adores her brothers and they adore her. The other girl is a bit older, beautiful but has PTSD. We hope as time progresses she will learn to trust and love us. Throughout all of this Shelton Veterinary has been there for us from normal to extreme medical situations, compassion and guidance even for us the fur children parents. Our first interaction with Shelton Vet Clinic was about 5 yrs ago when we were down at our (then) weekend home with our elderly German Shepherd. She had been having spinal issues and one day just couldn't even walk - she was in obvious pain. We made the hard decision to not let her suffer any more. Rather than driving back 1.5 hrs to our regular vets in Jacksonville, I called Shelton's. They were very kind and compassionate throughout the hard, emotional process. We have just... recently moved down permanently and I called them again for routine care for our two German Shepherd dogs. They were every bit as nice and professional as before. Dr. Jeff listened to us too - he didn't just dismiss our concerns with our female dog. I recently had to take my cat to Dr. Jeff at this Vet Clinic in my small town. I am on a limited Disability income and have very little extra money for vet care. My Coco needed Dr. Jeff in a bad way, having trouble eating, etc. The staff is so loving and compassionate first of all. It's like they can feel your pain! Dr. Jeff did an exam on Coco and found a mass in his mouth that Coco wouldn't let him really look at, so he had to be sedated for further evaluation. Dr. Je...ff and his assistant were so loving and compassionate with Coco, it is just amazing the way Dr. Jeff has room for so much love for our animals and only wants whats very best for them! Coco had to stay the night. I had to ask about the cost and it was way out of my ability to pay and I started to cry and told her I guess I'd have to put Coco (who is 15 and had a great life with me) to sleep. It was just so heart wrenching and unfair to Coco but because people don't want to pay their bills the clinic can't let you pay something up front and make monthly payments. I guess they have been burned pretty badly! I was so distraught! I knew this would be so hard to live with. The receptionist said, Wait a minute, there is a program called Care Credit and she'd see if I qualified. It only took a minute and I qualified for all and even more than it would require to get Coco taken care of! What a blessing from God! Today, Dr. Jeff did surgery on Coco, removed a mass and a tooth and Coco did just fine. I'm waiting for the phone call to go pick up my precious Coco now. I just wanted to let people know in this area, Interlachen Vet Clinic and Dr. Jeff is the place to go and if you need it these Care Credit people are a God send. This vet is extremely deceiving. Our dog developed a condition to where he could not use his back legs and the vet suggested a month's worth of prednisone for him to improve and regain mobility. We were charged forty dollars for the medicine, which seemed normal until it was refilled and the other vet called it into CVS for fifteen dollars. Our dog was misdiagnosed and suffered for over a month because of it. I would NOT take any of my animals this vet ever again. They are money hungry. The technicians are often rude and condescending also. They truly do not care about the animals that they are treating. Read Less

I truly thank the ladies at the front desk on how to care for my sick kitten. He is doing much better and I think you for your knowledge on giving him lemon-lime Gatorade to help bring him back to health. One top of the worming medicine and flea meds. Yesterday we didn't think he'd make it we took care of him all day and night and today he is much better..eating and drinking on his own and the fleas are gone. Thank you guys so much! Read Less

Jeff Laraway takes such good care of my pets. I am happy to have found him, but then again he is the only vet in my area. I just wish I can find someone in San Diego once I move back cause I never had one I really like and returned to on a regular basis there. Read Less
