This place was amazing! First thing I noticed was the staff knowing the name of their clientele the moment they walked in. Everyone behind the counter was so nice! The people who I waited with were super friendly. There were about 5 of us talking about our pets. Once I took my cat back, I really felt like I had been there before. This veterinary clinic couldn't have been more accommodating and affordable when we were traveling in the Jacksonville, FL area! Our Chesapeake Bay Retriever experienced an allergic reaction that really frightened us. So many folks at the Naval Base campground recommended we go to Beaches Animal Clinic. Would highly recommend this vet office to anyone. My aging Labrador spent the previous 24 hours suffering with a horrible hacking cough and a few other issues. I spent the night stressed out waiting for the doctors office to open to hopefully have him seen. Initially calling they were all booked for today and tomorrow but said if I could come in and wait they would try to fit me in. We weren’t there long and he was back getting X-rays and tests that he needed. Everyone from the front office staff, technicians and the doctor we saw were extremely nice and compassionate. I truly feel they cared. Even though we didn’t have an appointment initially we weren’t rushed they took time to explain what was going on with our dog and the plan to hopefully help him. 12 hours later and on meds I can already see some improvement with him. The doc wanted to call and follow up after the weekend. Definitely trying to truly help and care for my little buddy not just an in and out visit. To top it off I was even pleasantly surprised with the bill which included the visit, tests, X-rays and medicines. I would be lying if I didn’t expect to pay more than they charged. I have paid more at other vets offices for way less services. Again I said a lot but my dog is very much a member of my family and I was impressed with the treatment we all received today. Thank you! The docs here are awesome and take true interest in what's going on with your fur baby!! Dr Cole gets on the floor and sits with my dogs to make them feel more comfortable! The staff is awesome at getting me in for issues and answering questions! I've seen the other MDs also- once each -and was very pleased with them too! This is a very trustworthy place. They really care about ur pets. I took my dog there bc he hurt his leg falling off the bed, the vet just gave him prednisone and pain meds and within 3 days,  he was fine. They could have done x-rays but they wanted to try tge cheapest route first,,and it worked. I highly recommend them. Read Less

My sweet baby girl went to kitty heaven today. We showed up at the office when they opened and were seen just about immediately. The receptionist was caring and compassionate. The vet tech was incredibly compassionate and kind. The vet was kind as well. The process was stressful for me. I've never had to do this before. They allowed me as much time as I needed with her. I'm so happy that I started going to this vet. I don't think I would've had the same compassionate experience had I still been going to my past vet. The only things I wish were different is that Dr. Daniels had been there (I am just really comfortable with him), that there was softer lighting in the room like a lamp or something, soft music or "pink noise" in the hall, and a more comfortable chair in the room to hold and hug you're baby while you say goodbye. This place was wonderful to us at a horrific time. Our baby was diagnosed with untreatable lung cancer and we decided to take her on one great last trip. We stayed at the One Ocean Resort and she started to have a few really rough days, we knew it was time.  We took her to Beaches to have her euthanized. We did not have any ties to this practice, as we are from Chicago, but they could not have been more wonderful to us. To show a stranger compassion like these people did is something I will forever be grateful for and never forgot.  The vet, the front desk team, the techs..... I did not have a good experience with this clinic when I went there in November/December 2016. First off, my dog is 16 years old but he actually is a very lively happy pup. According to the veterinarians at this clinic he should be dead right now. I took him in for a minor urinary track infection & regular check up. The vet said he had diabetes one moment then failing kidneys... then he had cancer the next visit. Their exact words, "In few days you'll need to make a decision." meaning to euthanize. Seriously!!! The meds they prescribed made him even worse! I saw 2 different vet doctors at this same clinic both said 2 different things. Treated him for 2 separate issues. wtf?? I STOPPED ALL MEDS FROM THIS PLACE AND NEVER WENT BACK... I took my dog somewhere else where is got better and IS STILL VERY MUCH HAPPY AND ALIVE TODAY! 4 MONTHS LATER. My little baby Roscoe has been seeing Dr. Cole for a little over a year and all I can say is dynamite!! excellent!! He is an awesome and very caring doctor! I wouldn't take my little baby anywhere else! We even moved away from the Beach area a few years ago but still drive from downtown to take our animals there. The doctors are great--we use Dr. Daniel and Dr. Cole. Our animals love them and we trust them to take great care of us all. Dr. Cole is really great with cats too--we just haven't used Dr. Daniel for the cats. I'm sure he's amazing as well. They don't bully us about giving our animals any kinds of medicines we're not comfortable with and they're conservative about surgery unless necessary although so far we haven't needed anything like that yet. Great place to take your animals. It's clean, the staff is friendly, and if you have to reschedule they're helpful and accommodating. Read Less

Beaches is the only veterinarian I choose to take my cats to. Since my parents and I moved here a long time ago it was our first choice and they've never steered us wrong. I was especially nervous when I recently started going there on solo missions with my pets, but the whole staff is always super helpful and nice (even at 7am which is truly inspiring). So happy I found this place! Dr.Ramirez was wonderful. I contemplated driving 12 hours back to Maryland for my family vet after having a terrible experience with another vet in the area. Dr.Ramirez was just the vet I was looking for. Easy to schedule with and adorable prices were a bonus. She listened and addressed all of my questions and concerns. Just brought our dog in to get checked out for a cough issue. We are on vacation and are not regular clients, but they were able to squeeze us in immediately. Nothing is worse than worrying all night about your pet, and we got great service and great medical care to make sure our pooch is on the road to recovery. Every single person we met was extremely nice, helpful and knowledgeable. And above all, truly seemed to care about our baby. We have been coming to Beaches Animal clinic since the 1970"s, when Dr. Daniel was an assistant! We love him and Dr. Cole. Recently our 11 year old Shepherd/Samoyed mix named Bob was diagnosed with diabetes and Cushings. We have been in close contact with the clinic for the last 3 months trying to help our Bob. The staff was always so sweet and kind. We were told Bob had is very own blanket for when he would have to stay all day for his levels checks. He passed away May 13th. We knew the time was close and had an appointment that morning. They had his blanket on the floor waiting for him! Dr. Cole and Assistant Kazue came in and immediately got down on the floor with our baby. Dr. Cole knew what we were facing and told us he and his assistant would come to our home later that afternoon. They made our tough decision so much smoother having someone Bob trusted caring for him until the end. Dr. Cole even helped my husband bury him. I was in Jacksonville Beach staying at my condo for a few days and realized I had forgotten my can dog food for Charley Brown. I searched on Yelp for nearby veterinary clinics and this one popped up as the closest. I clicked on the phone number to call ahead and make sure they had my brand and was in luck.Directions in Yelp guided me right to the place where I found a nice private parking lot with available spaces up front. I went in and asked for a single can of the food and the nice lady walked to the back and got it for. I took my new puppy there last week...and this for sure was a GREAT experience!! I read great reviews and got a recommendation from a friend, however, I work at a doctors office my self and am VERY judgmental when it comes to the care of humans and creatures. Dr. Daniel was excellent and so was all of his staff!!! You can tell all of these people really care about these animals. My little guy "Roscoe" will be seen here from now on! I've never had problems with walk-in or appointments, but whenever I need to get ahold of my dog's info from Beaches Animal Clinic, I'm put on hold of hung-up on. My new vet tried for days to get ahold of them, with no luck. Had to drive from across town to get his vaccination records. Read Less

I had been to more than 3 vets within 2 years before I found them, and we have been with them for the past 2+ years now (and drive up from St Johns County). They constantly go above and beyond to make sure our 2 dogs are well taken care of and get the proper treatment. In the past, I have dealt with vets whom I feel may have taken advantage, maybe because they were not as comfortable in their profession, or they were in it for the money, and I never quite felt at home. With Beaches Animal, I always feel that the doctors are true experts who care not only about the animals, but the owners as well and never want to take advantage. They know when to perform tests/procedures and they only do so when it really is necessary. Each time we go in, I feel like there is always great communication between myself and the doctors. We have been in for a few annuals and for many one-off issues (heartworms being one, unfortunately). I always leave that office feeling like the issue and treatment plan is completely clear and all of my questions have been answered. They always make sure that my husband and I are comfortable with whatever it is we may be facing. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a warm, friendly environment with people that they can really trust with their animals. Took my dogs for boarding and it took over an hour and a half (from the moment he arrived at main reception all the way through boarding facilities) just to check them in and sign all the loopholes and waivers. Then they called us internationally while we were out of the country with bogus or minor issues, in my opinion just to add to the bill. Would not recommend. I did receive a very corteous and apologetic call as follow up, which was positive.Read Less

I have been bringing my dog and cat to Beaches Animal Clinic for almost 10 years now. When I schedule my appointments, I'm often asked if I prefer a certain vet over another.. the answer is.. no. They're all great! It's a relief to know whether I go with a scheduled appointment or a frantic drop in, every veterinarian I speak with with be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It's not the cheapest location, but I'm not sure I want to cut corners when it comes to my little friends. Another feature that makes Beaches so wonderful is they can do almost everything on-site. I haven't had too many health issues with my pets, but I've never needed a referral to a specialist. (Thankfully!)  They even do dental cleaning on site. When my cat passed away last year, their professionalism shined through. It was an incredibly shocking and sad occasion for me,. They really went above and beyond even walking me out to my car through a side door so I didn't have to go through the lobby. (This may have been more for the comfort of those waiting on appointments now that I think of it.. lol) They also sent me a thoughtful card a little while afterwards which I really found appreciative. I honestly drive all the way from Julington Creek/Nocatee to take my furbabies here, and it's worth it. If you're looking for a vet, I recommend visiting and touring their location. Dr. Cole is a wonderful human being. At first, he seems kind of off and doesn't have much to say to you. But what you soon will realize is that he's trying to focus on your animal. My dog, Chase, is almost 2 years old and we've been taking him to see Dr. cole since he was 8 weeks. Dr. Cole gets down on the ground with him since he's gotten too big to be picked up. Our family has been going to Beaches Animal Clinic for over 30 years.  In that time they have been in the same building, taking care of generations of pet owners.  My moms cat Kelly was small, even for a Calico and liked to have big, BIG litters with a few breech thrown in.  Couldn't have them at home, nope, when she went into labor, we had to call the vet and meet him down at the clinic.  They finally taught mom how to deliver the kittens so as to stop the late night meetings!!!  :)Through all of this and more these guys were professional, friendly, and patient.
