The Doctor was professional and caring. She genuinely seemed to care about my dog. We were given a steroid & antibiotic prescription for allergic rash & bacteria on slide sample, along with Chlorhexidine Fluconate(aseptic soap soaked on a dozen 4x4 gauze pads) to clean the rash/woulds. That is where my problem with Pet Doctors arises. $20 for the gause soaked in about an ounce of soap! You can buy a gallon of it online for $11 & 16oz of it a Walgreens for $7.99. So basically I paid the equivalent of almost 2 gallons to which they can prescribe to aboit 150 customers? $20 a pop to 150 customers is $3000 made on a $15-25 purchase by Pet Doctors of America. Probably won't be returning to the Beach Blvd location with my 3 dogs & 1 kitten. I'll find a fair Veterinarian. Read Less

No matter the age or the circumstances, it is extremely hard to loose a pet.  We recently had to put down our 16 year old family dog.  Although Pet Doctors were not his primary care doctors, he had been there an injury or two because of their super convenient hours, (No extra charge for Saturday and Sunday visits btw) they were able to squeeze him in because it was his time and no one wanted him to be in pain.I can't even begin to describe how caring and nice everyone was during this sad time.  Everything went smooth and he was surrounded by loved ones when he took his last breath.  We opted for cremation by a company they work with called Paw Prints.  They sent our BudZ back in only a few days in a beautiful box and some nice keepsakes.Already blown away, we received a card from Pet Doctors in the mail signed by the whole staff.  I came home from work today to a beautiful flower delivery from... Pet Doctors!  They are the absolute best under the worst circumstances.  We can't thank you enough Pet Doctors and we'll see you for Billy Joel's next check up. Read Less

This is the office I take my 2 boxers for all of their health care.  I always find the staff to be kind and helpful.  Sometimes they are busy, especially first thing in the morning or evenings right when most people are getting off work but I appreciate that they are open 7 days a week and always make time for Bella and Grant if it is an emergency.  The vets take time to explain the treatments and answer all of my questions, my husband and I are in healthcare so we tend to ask a lot of questions.  I have boarded my dogs and they come home happy and are not afraid to return.  This is the perfect practice for my needs. I have taken both my babies there for years and unfortunately I have just had to put both my babies down this year . The doctors , techs, and all staff have been so loving and so helpful and so kind to me and my dogs. They have gone above and beyond to fit me in the day of when I needed an appointment , they would allow me to get their medicine  one week at a time if I was financially strapped or when my lab was in his last months since I didn't want to buy the whole bottle in case he passed and I wouldn't need it . They were especially Helpful with loving the dogs and me thru the final days and putting them down. They helped with laser therapy and explaining every detail about cancer and options I had for my lab. I had them groomed their and they took special care of them and one dog I had boarded often they loved on her when I was gone . I trust this group of people with my most cherished family members. I'm not sure about the past, but I can tell you that now this is probably the best vet we've ever been to. We had all vet services and boarding out of this location for the last two years.Everyone there built a personal relationship with us , and more importantly, our dog. She was older by the time we started using them, and Pet Doctors Jax catered to her needs. The whole staff knew our dog, always used her name and showed her love and respect. Our dog , Nellie, would always come back from boarding here happy and clearly well cared for, which was not necessarily the case elsewhere. Especially as she aged and had less control of her bowels and bladder. We had to put Nellie down yesterday , and the entire office showed compassion and caring and made sure she passed on with dignity. I saw a tear in one of the tech's eyes and they hugged me and my daughter when it was all over. Again, I'm not sure what may have been the deal in the past, however I can assure you that these good people will always be the ones to care for our pets. Read Less

I do NOT recommend this hospital. I thought it would be convenient since they have two locations but at this point convenience doesn't matter. The quality of service was POOR at best. Walking into the office there was a big elephant in the room. Non of the employees seemed to be enjoying being there or with each other. First impression - nice tvs and computers at the desk but unfriendly staff and dirty floors/scale - not good. Who cares about if the staff is using an apple laptop if they can't give my dog the time of day? Technology at its worst. From there the tech put me in the room. Again, too distracted by clicking buttons on the apple laptop connected to a TV to really be listening to what I was saying. She didn't once touch my dog or show her any of attention. Shouldn't the tech have gotten vitals? Temperature, heart rate, check the teeth. Do a quick look over?! They are the doctors assistant. Strange to me. The doctor finally came in and it was a quick "1, 2 here's the shots and bye"  again, not friendly to my dog at all. Maybe I should take a step back, I was REFERRED to Dr. Silvers. I heard from a friend she went the extra mile and is amazing at what she does. Unfortunately for me, I was unable to see her that day. The lack of care for what this profession calls for is going to drive this place into the ground. I want a vet hospital that runs its business on the simple fact that it's what they love to do.... Not because the owner wanted to get his greedy hands on more money. Read Less

Earlier this year was one of the toughest times for our family. Glenn, our 11 year-old Golden Retriever/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix became very ill. Despite all of our efforts, he was not going to get better. In our darkest and saddest moment, Dr. B, Vet Tech Eleece, and Front Service Jasmine took care of Glenn and our final wishes. They treated Glenn with the most tender and gentle hands from the moment we arrived to his final breath. For us, they were calm, confident and strong. Losing a cornerstone of our home and family was not easy, but what Dr. B and Eleece did us for was immeasurable. Our precious cat Lily, will be cared for by no one else but Pet Doctors. Don't ever trust your pet with this place.  I took my dog there two Sundays ago because he wasn't urinating.  They did emergency surgery on him to remove kidney stones in his bladder and urethra.   Since it was a Sunday,  they closed at 6:00 and did not keep fluids running overnight. Never did they ask us if we wanted to move him to hospital where he could receive necessary fluids overnight. He died the next day.  And other vets told us it was surely because he wasn't kept on the fluids to bring his kidney levels back down after surgery. Took our dog in for a routine dental cleaning that they advertised for $250. She also needed a small skin tag removed on her leg. They told us they were going to cauterize the skin tag and there would be no need for stitches since it was in a spot that would be regularly moved around. They charged an extra $15 for it and we said that was fine, we just didn't think stitches were appropriate for such a small area on her knee that would move a lot. We got there and after an HOUR waiting they finally took her back, even though we had an appointment. The vet was late arriving. When we went to pick her up, she was super out of it and had stitches in her leg! The bill ended up being $400 which was completely out of control. We expected it to be the $250 for her teeth cleaning (which was still pretty high), $50 for her skin tag removal since she was already down. I could see maybe $325 or so but $400 was a pretty big shocker! She came home and started to settle down a bit. The next day she jumped on the bed a couple times, her normal behavior, and the stitches tore out and were gone except for one we had to take her back to remove because it was poking into her wound. Um, yeah, we kind of told them not to put stitches in! This place used to be great, obviously they sold it to another set of vets or something. The interior is a mess and in terrible shape. They left all sorts of implements laying around including an open pill bottle of jelly and a thermometer which was kind of gross. There's dirt all over the ceiling tiles and they're tore up. The table had peeling veneer. No vents looked like they had been cleaned ever. We're just glad our dog made it out of there without dying as other reviews in various places indicate they have trouble with anesthesia. We will NEVER take our dogs back here, even though we were former regular clients. On top of the whole thing, they told us they switched computer systems and we now have an outstanding balance of $75. Couldn't tell us for what or when. Just that a random $75 was owed. They even asked us to bring in our own records to prove we DIDN'T owe it! That's not my job. It's their job. If they can't keep my paperwork right, I'm certainly never trusting them with my live animal ever again! Bottom line: AVOID AVOID AVOID! Read Less

I Went to Pet Doctors of America just to get my Cat spayed. At first when i went in to get a quote, the lady at the front desk told me $62 for female cats. when i got a 2nd quote a day before i was ready to do it, a month later, I was told $124... okay, so I decided to get it done anyway. you know, get it over with. I was also required to pay over $100 MORE for her to get her updated vaccines... thats understandable. So as i was waiting at home for her to be done with her surgery, I get a call from the doctor telling me he had to give her another injection and gave me a reason why. Never asked me before he did it, never told me a price for it, or even that i had to pay for it. As i go pick her up, im told to pay $42 on something that i didnt even authorize or agree to! I had no money on me, because I wasnt expecting to pay for any more services... no one informed me of anything! After i told them i was unaware that i needed to have some money with me when i pick her up, the doctor talks to me like im some convict thats trying to run out on a bill! We found a stray dog at my office that we decided to keep until we could find a good home for her.  I submitted a request for an appointment on their website but never heard back from anyone.  I called the next day and the office manager said he had sent one right back.  It wasn't in my junk folder.  Never did find out what happened to that email.  Made the appointment over the phone (they were able to fit me in almost immediately) and off we went.  The staff was very helpful and nice.  The office manager is personable and knowledgeable.  The doctor thought her limp was from a torn ACL.  He later told my mother the same thing about her dog with a limp.  I'm wondering if maybe every dog that comes through there with a limp has a torn ACL.  The vet techs were very sweet with the poor, scared stray and we got in and out with a minimum of difficulty (although it did take about 15 minutes for the vet to come in and see us).  It was inexpensive, which is good since she was a stray. I have to wonder about their efficiency.  We took the same dog in the next week to have her fixed.  We asked that they perform x-rays on her leg at the same time so we could get a firm diagnosis on the limp.  My boss went to pick her up and was informed that they put her down for the spaying surgery and since she was still asleep they couldn't do the x-rays.  When he asked why they hadn't done the x-rays first he was told that they doctor hadn't read the notes fully and didn't know that an x-ray was supposed to be done. Sigh. They have monthly specials, which is nice, and send coupons in the mail (or email, if you prefer).  The staff is helpful but the vets leave me less than inspired.  For our stray, it was fine but I don't know that I'd bring my personal pets in to them for anything more than vaccinations or teeth cleanings.

Read Less

Walked in to get a health certificate for my dads dog to fly home to Seattle. Everything was going great, the doctor they had on call was very nice. I tried to call back after I left and they were like "OH well sorry those are our prices." its a piece of paper that was hand written by the vet tech! I was floored I will NEVER be back and I live 2 blocks away. Not to mention, I know it's a vet clinic but could of been a little cleaner floors were covered in dog hair it was 10am.
