Hidden Charges - How a $45. office visit turned into $170. They are all nice people up there that I have no complaints. But the prices of there Meds will knock your socks off. The list price of drug were tripled in my last visit. What cost them one dollar per pill I was charged over $10. per pill. For 6 pills, I paid close to $70. Who knows what it cost them for the shot they have my cat. When questioned they said we can give you the script and you can buy them any where you want. The only problem with that was my cat needed them immediately. So I had no choice but to pay them. When I presented the bill to another local vet they told me you got ripped off.

I’m not sure how long I’ve been taking my dog here, 3-4 years I think. I had been taking her to a more “corporate” vets office, and felt my dog was being misdiagnosed... I started going to Animal Clinic of Oceanway as a second opinion, and never left. I have always had a great experience. They are good at getting you an appointment within a few days and actually LISTEN to you when you talk about your pet. The want to make sure you understand treatment plans and are genuinely concerned about your pet.

This is really important to me because the last 2 times I was in there, my dog was very stressed out because they had to clip his nails and get a test done. They called me the next day to check up on him! ❤️ So nice

First, I want to say that Animal Clinic of Oceanway is a professional veterinary clinic where the doctors are first rate! I rescued a dog and took him in for his shots, evaluation, bath, etc. The front desk and staff are friendly, kind and put your mind at ease. The doctors are very knowledgeable and helpful with advice about every issue. My dog doesn't mind going to "his" vet's office at all. He wags his tail and loves the one-on-one attention he gets. The only "problem" I have ever had is that bath/grooming is only done on Mon/Wed/Fri. When I couldn't make it in then, I took my dog somewhere else. However, the other place I took him to had cut his nails too close, made them bleed and made him scared to get groomed. I took him back to ACO and decided that I would just have to adjust my schedule so that I could get him in on those days. I will NEVER go back to the other place! I appreciate Animal Clinic of Oceanway for their professionalism, their kindness to both human and patients, and their love for their patients. ACO is also reasonably priced. I've been so pleased with ACO that other family members have started using them for their pets, too.

More stressful than finding myself a physician when I relocated to Jacksonville, was finding someone to care for my pets! I'll admit I'm very critical of the care my pets receive. After the first visit, I knew we were blessed to have found the great staff @ Animal Clinic of Oceanway!!! Everyone has been wonderful and given my pets the BEST care! We have a dog that developed regional allergies after we moved to the area. The entire staff have always been understanding to our needs and concerns when we have been there with our dog. Diagnosis of the issue took some time as they narrrowed down the symptoms and we tried various methods of treatment. During this time we have developed a wonderful relationship with the staff and we enjoy their positive attitudes and smiling faces. They go out of their way to make our anxious and nervous dog feel comfortable being there. Simply put, they accomodate us.
We have recently used their grooming services and enjoyed the bandana and thank you card we received from the groomer, it was a nice gesture and that is what makes this vet stand out from the rest, they truly care!

I went in and they were very friendly. However they needed to take blood to test for heartworms and she had to call in a helper which was the vet I'm assuming, she decided to try drawing blood from my dogs neck and stuck him over and over digging around in his neck at least 20 times trying to find the vein, I could hardly watch. After 5 mins of trying over and over she finally decided to try his paw and they got it the 1st time -- Then they proceeded the exam and diddnt go over what they were going to do nor did they tell me how much each thing they did was going to cost. She then suggested I have him on flea/tick/hartworm meds but I was low on funds and insisted I get it now. Then after, I went to pay and their machine was acting up, I went to swipe again and it said I had insufficient funds because it had pulled twice. Needless to say I feel much professionalism is missing from this vet and question the care my pups would get from this place.

Sometimes you find a place that's SO GOOD, you just have to tell everyone! From the front office staff, to the vet techs and the doctors, we are so pleased to be patients at Animal Clinic of Oceanway! If you have questions, they have answers! If you are in doubt, they will help put your mind at ease. When your pet needs them, they are available. And when your pet has issues, they know what to do to help calm him and make his visit pleasant. My dog had a bad experience getting his nails cut at Petsmart. After that, he wanted to snap and growl at everyone, including us, if we tried to touch his paws or get near his feet! The vet explained that he wasn't "BAD", that he was just scared. After Lincolns visit, he was a happy dog, "smiling" and wagging his tail like his old self again! I appreciate the expert advice and professional and caring team at Animal Clinic of Oceanway. Their prices are reasonable and their knowledge and care is extraordinary. If you care about your pet, you owe it to yourself and your pet to visit Animal Clinic of Oceanway.

We have taken our pets here for the past few years with no problems. Naturally, when our dog started limping, we took her to be seen here. We never saw an actual vet, just a PA that told us the dog needed to lose weight and it might be a problem with her paw. No diagnosis of the limp, just some pain meds. The limping continued and two subsequent visits later, we demanded (they didnt recommend) some x-rays. Nothing identified on the xrays. Finally, we went to another vet that requested x-rays and immediately recognized our pup had a blown ACL! It had happened so long ago that unfortunately, now it was too late to fix it with surgery. I dont understand why this vet clinic wasnt recommending options to actually find out what the problems were. We will not be returning.

We called around to a bunch of different places and everyone turned us away and gave us another number. When we finally called the Clinic of Oceanway, they told us they had other appointments but since this was an emergency and they would see our dog right away. They were really sweet and caring and explained everything to us. When they examined her they knew what was going on right away. We ended up having to put our dog down, and it was very hard for us. But they were sweet and there for us and gave us the time we needed. Their prices I would say were I great price, or at least not over priced. To examine her for new customers at the time it only cost 1 dollar. I would recommend them to anyone that needs to take their dog to the clinic or emergency services.

It always stresses me out when I have to board Max. Each time I am put as ease with the care he is given. This time I feel everyone involved went above and beyond to take care of him. We had some not so good news the day before we left for vacation but after talking to Dr Gordon we were put at ease. I called to check on Max and stress my concerned that he doesn't eat well when we are gone. I mentioned to Kim that sometimes he does not eat until we are home. She said she might try to pull up a chair and sit with him to see if it would help. On Saturday I received an email from her to let me know his progress and that he was eating about a cup of food a day. Kim was concerned he might run out of food and wanted to know the mixture of how we make his food so she could make some just in case. I was blown away and so thankful to know he was getting such good care. I can not express my thanks enough for what you all did for Max but also putting my mind at ease while out of town. Your staff is the best.

Went to get a new prescription for my cat's thyroid medicine who also is diabetic. This clinic is closer to where we live compare to other place we use to go. This doctor recommended us to feed him only wet food which is packed of protein with very little carbs from now on. Knowing my cat is diabetic, he forgot to tell us his insulin dosage needed to be adjusted. So, few days later, my cat went into coma. Took him to this office again to get help. A different doc gave him IV, but again, never said anything about adjusting insulin dosage. So, we totally lost confidence in these Docs in Animal clinic of Oceanway. Took him to another vet to get REAL help next day, but damage is already done.... It has been only 2 weeks since the Doc in Animal clinic of Oceanway told us to change to wet food, now my cat is dying...... Not eating, don't drink any water, can not stand up....bone & skin. This new doc told us to get blood sugar reader, & he talk to us everyday to get my cat better. I can not see if Animal clinic of Oceanway people will do this for us..... I didn't feel the warmth or compassion from them.We just went to get thyroid medicine prescription. Even this prescription, he wrote was wrong..... Front desk lady was not really friendly. Kind of rough.... When we walked in, the lady didn't even looking at us, maybe because she didn't recognize us.....We are new customer, could she say "welcome"?

Animal Clinic of Oceanway is one of those places that really do not need advertising, they have all the business they need from word of mouth and loyalty of their customers and the wagging of tails from their patients..Dr. Michael Davis, is more than a vet, he is a true lover of animals and it shows in how he treats his patients; both the animals and their owners.We have been taking our pets to this clinic for many years and have been very happy with the quality of care taken for everything from toe nails being clipped to wound surgery, and explaining in detail what to do to help our 4 legged family members live better if they are sick. The staff is professional and friendly and devoted to taking care of the pets that come into them.Office is clean and airy.

Hidden Charges - How a $45. office visit turned into $170. They are all nice people up there that I have no complaints. But the prices of there Meds will knock your socks off. The list price of drug were tripled in my last visit. What cost them one dollar per pill I was charged over $10. per pill. For 6 pills, I paid close to $70. Who knows what it cost them for the shot they have my cat. When questioned they said we can give you the script and you can buy them any where you want. The only problem with that was my cat needed them immediately. So I had no choice but to pay them. When I presented the bill to another local vet they told me you got ripped off.

I started going to Animal Clinic of Oceanway as a second opinion, and never left. I have always had a great experience. They are good at getting you an appointment within a few days and actually LISTEN to you when you talk about your pet. The want to make sure you understand treatment plans and are genuinely concerned about your pet.

This is really important to me because the last 2 times I was in there, my dog was very stressed out because they had to clip his nails and get a test done. First, I want to say that Animal Clinic of Oceanway is a professional veterinary clinic where the doctors are first rate! I rescued a dog and took him in for his shots, evaluation, bath, etc. The front desk and staff are friendly, kind and put your mind at ease. The doctors are very knowledgeable and helpful with advice about every issue. My dog doesn't mind going to "his" vet's office at all. He wags his tail and loves the one-on-one attention he gets. The only "problem" I have ever had is that bath/grooming is only done on Mon/Wed/Fri. When I couldn't make it in then, I took my dog somewhere else. However, the other place I took him to had cut his nails too close, made them bleed and made him scared to get groomed. I took him back to ACO and decided that I would just have to adjust my schedule so that I could get him in on those days. I will NEVER go back to the other place! I appreciate Animal Clinic of Oceanway for their professionalism, their kindness to both human and patients, and their love for their patients. ACO is also reasonably priced. I've been so pleased with ACO that other family members have started using them for their pets, too.

We have a dog that developed regional allergies after we moved to the area. The entire staff have always been understanding to our needs and concerns when we have been there with our dog. Diagnosis of the issue took some time as they narrrowed down the symptoms and we tried various methods of treatment. During this time we have developed a wonderful relationship with the staff and we enjoy their positive attitudes and smiling faces. They go out of their way to make our anxious and nervous dog feel comfortable being there. Simply put, they accomodate us.
We have recently used their grooming services and enjoyed the bandana and thank you card we received from the groomer, it was a nice gesture and that is what makes this vet stand out from the rest, they truly care!

I went in and they were very friendly. However they needed to take blood to test for heartworms and she had to call in a helper which was the vet I'm assuming, she decided to try drawing blood from my dogs neck and stuck him over and over digging around in his neck at least 20 times trying to find the vein, I could hardly watch. After 5 mins of trying over and over she finally decided to try his paw and they got it the 1st time -- Then they proceeded the exam and diddnt go over what they were going to do nor did they tell me how much each thing they did was going to cost. She then suggested I have him on flea/tick/hartworm meds but I was low on funds and insisted I get it now. Then after, I went to pay and their machine was acting up, I went to swipe again and it said I had insufficient funds because it had pulled twice. Needless to say I feel much professionalism is missing from this vet and question the care my pups would get from this place.

From the front office staff, to the vet techs and the doctors, we are so pleased to be patients at Animal Clinic of Oceanway! If you have questions, they have answers! If you are in doubt, they will help put your mind at ease. When your pet needs them, they are available. And when your pet has issues, they know what to do to help calm him and make his visit pleasant. My dog had a bad experience getting his nails cut at Petsmart. After that, he wanted to snap and growl at everyone, including us, if we tried to touch his paws or get near his feet! The vet explained that he wasn't "BAD", that he was just scared. After Lincolns visit, he was a happy dog, "smiling" and wagging his tail like his old self again! I appreciate the expert advice and professional and caring team at Animal Clinic of Oceanway. Their prices are reasonable and their knowledge and care is extraordinary. If you care about your pet, you owe it to yourself and your pet to visit Animal Clinic of Oceanway.

We have taken our pets here for the past few years with no problems. Naturally, when our dog started limping, we took her to be seen here. We never saw an actual vet, just a PA that told us the dog needed to lose weight and it might be a problem with her paw. No diagnosis of the limp, just some pain meds. The limping continued and two subsequent visits later, we demanded (they didnt recommend) some x-rays. Nothing identified on the xrays. Finally, we went to another vet that requested x-rays and immediately recognized our pup had a blown ACL! It had happened so long ago that unfortunately, now it was too late to fix it with surgery. I dont understand why this vet clinic wasnt recommending options to actually find out what the problems were. We will not be returning.

We called around to a bunch of different places and everyone turned us away and gave us another number. When we finally called the Clinic of Oceanway, they told us they had other appointments but since this was an emergency and they would see our dog right away. They were really sweet and caring and explained everything to us. When they examined her they knew what was going on right away. We ended up having to put our dog down, and it was very hard for us. But they were sweet and there for us and gave us the time we needed. Their prices I would say were I great price, or at least not over priced. To examine her for new customers at the time it only cost 1 dollar. I would recommend them to anyone that needs to take their dog to the clinic or emergency services.

It always stresses me out when I have to board Max. Each time I am put as ease with the care he is given. This time I feel everyone involved went above and beyond to take care of him. We had some not so good news the day before we left for vacation but after talking to Dr Gordon we were put at ease. I called to check on Max and stress my concerned that he doesn't eat well when we are gone. I mentioned to Kim that sometimes he does not eat until we are home. She said she might try to pull up a chair and sit with him to see if it would help. On Saturday I received an email from her to let me know his progress and that he was eating about a cup of food a day. Kim was concerned he might run out of food and wanted to know the mixture of how we make his food so she could make some just in case. I was blown away and so thankful to know he was getting such good care. I can not express my thanks enough for what you all did for Max but also putting my mind at ease while out of town. Your staff is the best.

Went to get a new prescription for my cat's thyroid medicine who also is diabetic. This clinic is closer to where we live compare to other place we use to go. This doctor recommended us to feed him only wet food which is packed of protein with very little carbs from now on. Knowing my cat is diabetic, he forgot to tell us his insulin dosage needed to be adjusted. So, few days later, my cat went into coma. Took him to this office again to get help. A different doc gave him IV, but again, never said anything about adjusting insulin dosage. So, we totally lost confidence in these Docs in Animal clinic of Oceanway. Took him to another vet to get REAL help next day, but damage is already done.... It has been only 2 weeks since the Doc in Animal clinic of Oceanway told us to change to wet food, now my cat is dying...... Not eating, don't drink any water, can not stand up....bone & skin. This new doc told us to get blood sugar reader, & he talk to us everyday to get my cat better. I can not see if Animal clinic of Oceanway people will do this for us..... I didn't feel the warmth or compassion from them.We just went to get thyroid medicine prescription. Even this prescription, he wrote was wrong..... Front desk lady was not really friendly. Kind of rough.... When we walked in, the lady didn't even looking at us, maybe because she didn't recognize us.....We are new customer, could she say "welcome"?

Their website is AMAZING, which was a big selling point for us. You can ask questions (which will actually be answered!), make appointments, and for a small fee, have access to your pet's medical records. What more could you want?!

Animal Clinic of Oceanway is one of those places that really do not need advertising, they have all the business they need from word of mouth and loyalty of their customers and the wagging of tails from their patients..Dr. Michael Davis, is more than a vet, he is a true lover of animals and it shows in how he treats his patients; both the animals and their owners.We have been taking our pets to this clinic for many years and have been very happy with the quality of care taken for everything from toe nails being clipped to wound surgery, and explaining in detail what to do to help our 4 legged family members live better if they are sick. The staff is professional and friendly and devoted to taking care of the pets that come into them.Office is clean and airy.
