Dr. John and Dr. Herb are fantastic! They are amazing with my Sugar! If she is sick or on a new medication they will call even on the weekend to check on her. I can't recommend this office enough! I really appreciate how the vets always tell you exactly what needs to be done and not try to up-sale you on other things or try to break your wallet when coming here. They even taught me how to drain my pomi's anal gland myself- and gave me allergy medication alternatives that are more affordable which i greatly appreciated! My dog is so comfortable here. My dog, who is generally scared of men, took to Dr. Herb very quickly as he got down on the floor and played with her. I've had a few vets from moving around so frequently, and I've never had anyone take so much care and attention with my dog. She seemed as if she was at a play date rather than a doctor's appointment! I was impressed with the front desk staff as well. Super glad we found this place (thanks neighbors!). Everyone has been so helpful and kind. We have had our dog and one of our cats in for a visit, and have been pleased with their level of caring. Today was a visit for our kitty Sebastian, who was having issues with peeing outside the box. We had a visit with Dr. John, who was friendly and very thorough in his exam and explanations of what we need to do to ensure Sebastian is ok. The office is clean and the front office staff works as quickly as they can to get everyone checked in, checked out, and in their way. Would recommended Atlantic Veterinary a hundred times over! I love all of the staff. Drs. Erin, Herb, and John are wonderful. They are so caring and take time explaining and/or answering any and all questions. They are mindful of expenses and work to find the best solutions for ea. individual pet. They have never done unneeded testing, etc. and are so impressive. When my DVMs sit on the floor and loves on my pet, it gives me reassurance that they truly love what they do and and have your pet's best interest at heart. I was seeking a large animal vet to replace my last large animals vet when they sold out to a large vet service.  I called Atlantic Vet based on a referral.  Wow....why would anyone take this kind of over prideful attitude from a vet?  I tried for over a month to get an appointment, I had to push the snotty ambiguous vague receptionist that displayed an air of hubris beyond the norm when speaking to me.  Treating me as if I were stupid or didn't understand English and didn't have a grasp of horse ownership....Really, I thought to myself, but continued because I needed vet care.  Sadly, I had to prod with multiple calls and requests to get an appointment commitment from her to have a vet come out and care for my 4 horses, and BTW I was willing to pay an additional fee for travel time, Coggins, shots, teeth floating and shipping papers. What I got was nothing but a bunch of bunk.  The receptionist finally confirmed an appointment after I had to pin her to an actual time and date and the day they were to arrive to do the work....THEY CANCELLED without a single phone call except on the day of arrival.  She insisted that "we called you multiple times," however, my phone never picked up the number, hence, I wasn't called at all.  Suffice to say after another uncomfortable combative conversation we rescheduled.  Well, she was so put off when I had to cancel the second appointment based on a torrential rain fall that would have left the vet standing in 3-4 inches of standing water on the farm to do the work on 4 horses.   I thought it best to cancel.   I didn't want my horses being drugged or getting multiple shots under such harsh conditions -- I call that good husbandry, she thought I was awful for asking to reschedule.  Great....Here we go again.....Receptionist met this with nasty attitude.  Her attitude was "how dare I change the appointment."  Well today was the icing on the cake! I called again to reschedule and was met such an attitude of arrogance I simply couldn't handle it again.  She was going out of her way for me...No, she hated speaking with me because I held her feet to the fire and had to push for good vet care.  I told her "How dare you treat customers with such contempt.  Customers that are willing to pay, but have to endure lies about availability and an awful attitude of disrespect for a customer."  Well, I'm sick to death of businesses and corporations that don't have a clue that we keep them in business.  Good luck.  I hope you can revive your awful attitude and change it to gratitude??  (I doubt that she's been working their too long--that's the problem).   I know I never want to work that hard to get an appointment from a "gatekeeper" to have my horses looked at.  Get this Patty....My horses are worth than your annual payroll.  How dare you disrespect me and my animals for your unhappy life situation.  You're awful and why people tolerate this behavior is beyond me. I drove a hour and a half today to get my pig lucky neutered because i have only heard great things from this vet and I am so glad I did. I had so many questions and everyone of them were answered. They did such a great job i was so nervous but after i talked to the young lady i was put at ease he would be just fine and he was. Finding AV has been the best experience of our 18 years with Casey (dachshund fur baby) We've had 3 vets over the years and when we moved to this area many years ago we stopped in (after a bad experience at Pet--)! We have been going here for a year now and have always had the best experience. I have been behind on appointments and they easily rescheduled. Sherlock had an allergic reaction to new food and they were able to add a hysterical dog mother on to the schedule as I was driving there. I really appreciated how the lead veterinarian was very open to answering my questions. Seeing as I was a new dog owner, I needed a little bit of guidance when it came to Sherlock's chicken allergy. They get down on the ground with your pets, they care about not only your animal but your family, and they work hard to stay in your budget. Fantastic techs, amazing doctors and wonderful bedside manner by all. My older dog only had the pleasure of meeting the staff while he was ill but he enjoyed visiting them. He enjoyed it most when Dr. John visited us at our home when it was his time and never stressed one moment. My younger dog has now met the team with a shockingly happy approach. Normally petrified of vet office settings, he walked in like he owned the place and even let everyone touch him, which is HUGE! The staff took great care of us and I can't thank them enough! Dr. John and Taylor were both incredible for a routine visit for my old man (12-year-old lab)! I wish I'd have discovered this place a long time ago. They're kind, loving to my fur baby, and were thorough in the care they provided. For the past 5-6 years my family has fostered dogs through Dalmatian Rescue in addition to having 2 dogs of our own so we go to the vet sometimes 4-5 times a year and we wouldn't take our dogs anywhere else. We adore Herb and all the techs/office personnel, everyone is so friendly and great with animals. Out of all the dogs we have fostered over the years none of them have ever snapped at Herb (and some have not been as friendly as others), he is the type of vet who will sit with your dogs and pet them while he talks to you and does his examination giving you all your options for whatever may be needed and gives you the best options with cost and effectiveness considered. His personal and hands on approach is exactly the kind of thing you look for when looking for a vet. I even adopted my new kitten from their office (they always have seem to have rescue animals around the office) and I won't even consider taking her anywhere else. I know they also offer exceptional Horse care as well. I would recommend them to anyone with a pet that deserves the best care.Read Less
