Our experience was at a real sensitive time & we felt extremely upset about our beloved pets condition. We still wonder what happened to her. We spent alot of money & we were thankful (in some way)that the staff understood our plight & gave us a crash course with long term care that we could administer ourselves to save $. I think 1 thing they could have done (when Cocoa had 2 be put down) would be to run a test & find out what she died of since we have another cat too. Animals can bring such joy to your lives but when she died, no closure. The staff was sensitive & made our time easier but still feel they could have.done that 1 test. & made closure easier. Really kind staff here. I took my dachshund in for annual shots and when we got home she started breaking out into hives and swelling from the vaccine (no one's fault), the staff was very attentive when I brought her back and they took care of her immediately, and even called to follow up to see how she was. These guys are amazing. My husky puppy contracted parvo and they pulled her through keeping me updated as much as possible. They were also very careful when I came in making sure we didn’t touch anything to avoid spreading and without being rude. She recovered quickly but managed to catch a cold at the end which spiked her fever and they kept her to be safe while she fought off that as well. Then when the day she was supposed to come home the weather was so bad the roads were... icing over they kept her again so I didn’t have to drive in it to pick her up. Not only is it so obvious how much they care about the animals but they care about the humans too! I live all the way in Callahan and I only went to these guys because the puppy store required it to cover the costs. My dog passed away 1 day after seeing them!! All was fine bloodwork and x-rays but gave him shot of morphine because she thought he was a little sore when she picked him up. BEWARE. If they give your dog a shot ask them what to look for if they have a reaction!!! He died in my husbands arms on the way to orange park animal hospital. Broken hearted and missing my best friend!! my dog went in friday because he threw up and Dr.June said he was going to be fine. Took him back saturday because he still was not feeling well. They did a full panel of blood work and x-rays and dr.showed us his blood work was fine and x-rays were ok a little swelling in his prostrate but thats normal for dogs that have not been neutered. She gave us some medicine and told me his spine was a little sore to the touch so she was going to give him a shot of morphine and he would probably sleep for about 24 hours. Feed him some chicken and rice tonight. Welll $597.00 he had not moved a bit not even stood up so I went a got a syringe so he could at least get water in him. Sunday evening he still has not moved and when I went to give him some water he was gurgling and started to tremble. My husband and I snatched him up and headed to Orange Park vet hospital (only one open on Sun) and on the way I was driving 80mph and my husband was holding him and telling him to breath! when we reached the hospital a nurse came running out and grabbed him and took him to the back. She came out within 60 seconds and told ushe had passed. We were devastated!! So...I guess I am trying to tell you when the give your animal medication or a shot askthem what to look for if there are any reactions to meds. I would not want anyone to go through what we went through. I looked up on line and the shot she gave him does have the reactions he displayed but we were not informed..Very lonely and sad missing my best friend Read Less

Overall we have been happy with the office for more than a decade. The only issue I have is this year they seem to be engaging in misrepresentation of pricing. We were given the option of getting a better flu shot for our dogs and were told the difference was the $25 dollar shot did not require a booster and this one was $43 and it required you to come in 3 weeks later for a booster. We were not informed there would be a second charge of $43 for the booster. If we had been we would have opted for the usual shot because our babies are hardly ever boarded or in dog parks. I took my dog to be boarded last week for the first time. I had gone 2 weeks prior for a tour and get paperwork. I came back a week later to turn in paperwork and schedule her boarding dates. The day I took her in I had written out her schedule brought her bed, toys and food. They were very perceptive to everything I had to say. I was to be out of town for 2 days and my car broke down and had to call for another day. They were fabulous no problems. I will defiantly board my dog again. She had a fun stay over. I have 2 Pitbulls that have not been treated fairly at other vets because of their breed. Beltway always goes above and beyond to make my pups feel comfortable and loved. Always follows up to check and see how they are feeling if they were in their besides normal route visit. They also are reasonable in price compared to others visits. Read Less

I really felt that Dr. Rachel Brown and Michael, the vet tech were totally focused on the well being of my cat and presented me with options as to how to proceed. They both exhibited much compassion for my very sick cat and we're very patient in explaining her prognosis. Michael taught me how to administer a subcutaneous hydration as I opted to bring my cat home versus hospitalization. I had no problems as his instructions were quite thorough. I will continue taking my pets to Beltway because they go above and beyond to make sure my dogs and cats get the best care possible while being sensitive to my needs as well. Read Less

Originally Dr. June told me my bill total, however when I picked up my dog it was almost $120 more because "they made a mistake". . I started coming here after my previous beloved vet Dr Kerr passed away. I had used him for 10 years & really trusted him. When it was time to find a new office I thought I would never find another I would trust the same. Well after 3 years using Beltway I have to say all 3 vets Dr Jane, Dr June & Dr Brown have always treated me & my pets great. They & there staff are clearly animal lovers & understand how attached we are to our furry little family members. Each Vet has always given me all of my options & I have never felt pressured to spend $ on unnecessary things. There is no such thing as cheap healthcare or veterinary care. I never went here and I don't know why I should've been coming here all along. But my first time coming here was a few days back when I called them first to ask a bunch of questions over the phone about my pitbull terrier puppy Chino who has bruised his eye playing ball. They were very helpful over the phone and was always very concerned for my baby and when I got there front desk ladies were so sweet, helpful, and welcoming! It wasn't a long wait at all and prices are affordable! Doctors were great! As well as every staff member who walked passed was so sweet and would stop to compliment and show my puppy some loving! Brought my German Shepherd in on Sat, March 12 for grooming. The young lady at the front desk said that her shots were do. I said I know and I will call to schedule her and I was not ready to drop the $100 plus at the moment for her shots. {the grooming charge was already going to be was $85}, when an older women with white/blonde hair rudely started to tell me that if my dog were to bite another dog or person that the Vet would be liable. It wasn't what she said but the way she said it that angered me. There was no reason to use that tone to me or anyone for that matter. I have been taken my dog there since she was 8 weeks old, driving 20 minutes away for grooming,shots, and heartworm/flea meds totaling over five years Now I will take her to a Vet which is only 5 minutes away for this service. we are very pleased with the caring service that we receive every time we come in. The first experience was when we had to put our 19 year old dog down. My wife and I were very impressed with the way they handled the whole situation. We got another puppy not long after and found out that Beltway did the intitial check up for our new puppy which thrilled my wife. They have been outstanding and could not ask for more. Fortunately, this review is not directly connected to me or my pet. I recently went along with a friend to an appointment at Beltway. The clinic was pretty busy. I thought initially that was a good sign; however, the customer service in this place was awful! The younger woman with the short hair cut was very nice and professional but I guess she had to go to the back for something. This left us with a different lady, a little bit older with blonde shoulder length hair. I think her name was Gail, but I cant be sure! She was using her cell phone and seemed annoyed like my friend was interrupting her. She had a generally bad attitude and was not even prepared to triage us as customers. The manager seemed slow, disconnected, and pretty much oblivious to the utter chaos of the waiting area. The place was slammed and Gail (whatever the blond's name is) was too busy on her mobile phone to care. The younger girl with the short hair came back and start helping customers and Gail disappeared. I decided to go sit in the car at this point because I didn't want to stress my friend out, who seems to be ok with this place. After the visit my friend informed me that her experience there is always different depending on who is working that day.She says the Doctors are great, the staff in the back are efficient, and a few of the receptionists are too. I guess luck of the draw?? I just hope this place organizes their staff and management soon before customers become tired of the shenanigans..Read Less

They are excellent at charging very high prices but not doing a lot for the animal...they wanted to charge a friend of mine over $1,000 for surgery on her dog, and we found a wonderful place that only charged $300, and the dog was just fine..Also boarded my dogs for 2 days and they came home covered in fleas.....just because somebody charges more money does NOT mean they are better. Love this vet office! The two veterinarians (who are also sisters) Jane and June, are so excellent every time we come. We've used Beltway for all our pets over the various years and most of their staff has been the same wonderful people. They recommended a great pet surgeon when our baby minpin broke her leg and this is also the ONLY vet that our older dog can go to since he was a rescue and is terrified of cages and kennels. We always board our doggies here for vacation and they are always priced fair for exams and shots. LOVE!! Read Less

This place is horrible! Never again! (I was here a fee weeks ago, just now getting around to review)I was recommended to this place by a family friend. So I thought I would give it a try. I've always heard mix things and always see their sign "now hiring" which has always kind of worried me but decided to make an appointment for my dogs yearly shots. When making the appointment on the phone, the girl who answered was very nice and extremely friendly. However when I came in it was a different story! The place was nasty and smelled like urine. The lady behind the counter (short, older, with fried blonde hair. I believe her name was Julie or Julia) was extremely rude! She was on her personal phone and I had to wait for her to get off it before she would even help me! Once she did get off to check me in she acted like I was bothering her. She started huffing and puffing and slamming down papers. She checked me in and I sat down to wait for them to call me back. At one point the phone rang and she answered it. Once she got off she started mumbling to "herself" about how "stupid Mr. __ is and why can't he just listen and stop calling about pointless things. That she didn't have time to deal with his sh*t"! I couldn't believe it! Finally after about 30 minutes they called me back. The dr however was very pleasant. My dog got his shots and everything looked normal and in good Heath. Upon check out I was glad to see that there was two different receptionist up front. One was taller with short short hair and the other was a shorter black girl. They were both very friendly and personable. I wish I was able to deal with them to begin with!! Before leaving I did noticed they had a girl who did grooming. So I asked the girls how much it would be for my dog. They told me to wait a minute and called their groomer (Lorna) up. At first she was friendly. But seemed annoyed that she had to come up and talk to me. I asked for the price and she told me it was $37.00 for a bath and brush and feet trim. I told her "ok thank you." She stood there looking at me and then asked with a snotty attitude "are you wanting to set up an appointment?" I told her no and asked for a card. She then slammed her appointment book closed said she didn't have any cards and stomped off to the grooming area and slammed the door behind her! Needless to say, I've never been to a vet office that has so many unprofessional staff members! I really have no idea how this place has stayed open or so long. My only positive experience there was with the two nice receptionist and the vet. I will not be back and I do not recommend this place to anyone. Read Less

The doctors are good, but the office staff is rude, a little mouthy and impatient, especially the tall blonde with the long hair who sounds like she's been smoking most of her life. The only office staff I find friendly and helpful is the girl with the low haircut--You can tell she loves animals, the others are just there for a paycheck. One thing, I will not leave my two "dumplings" there for boarding again--I checked them in once, came back from vacation, checked them out of boarding and I noticed they were a little strange. I decided to volunteer there, to see what really went down in their boarding facilities..The staff was never physical with the dogs, but again, they were there for a paycheck.
