Hello and thanks very much to Dr. Acree and staff at Cedar Hills Animal Hospital for all of the support I have received from my first visit in 1998 when I returned back to Jacksonville, Florida after being gone from here for about 30 years
As far as I am concerned there is no better Veterinarian Clinic in Jacksonville. As per Dr. Acree’s suggestion on a method to help less fortunate animals, We are sending $100.00 to the Safe Animal Shelter in Clay County, and I plan on following up with more donations in the future.
I wish him and all of his staff the best during this holiday season! Your help will not be forgotten by me or my wife.

I also agree with a few of the reviews regarding staff. I was treated very rudely by the receptionist Marissa. My dog was dying and over a weeks period I had many questions in regards to euthanasia, cremation and the entire process. I was made to feel by her that I was being a bother. Finally I had enough and the day before the euthanasia appointment I asked her to have Dr. Acree call me. She never have him the message and I never got the call. Dr. Acree is an amazing vet but the unprofessionalism and uncaring attitude of this receptionist puts a damper on the practice as a whole. Sadly my last memories of my dog will always include how bad I was treated the last week of his life

My sister in-law had very good experiences here when her dog had a very long history of medical problems, so I reached out to them when we had to take our very ill cat to the vet. Dr. Acree and his staff were incredible. I walked in and as soon as I started speaking to the receptionist, I started crying like a fool, but they were so nice and gentle. The vet tech and doctor were so kind and had the best bedside manner - better than any human doctor and nurse I've encountered! They showed such empathy towards our senior cat. When it was time to put him down, they couldn't have been more courteous of our space. It's been over six months now and as heartbreaking as our reasoning for being there was, I am still very thankful for the genuinely kind treatment we received at Cedar Hills. We just adopted two kittens from the Human Society and because of our past experiences, there's no place I'd rather take them. Heads up, this is a walk-in only clinic. Appointments are not necessary. Wait time during the weekdays is not bad.

My blind dachshund was bitten by a snake and I had no idea. I took him to Cedar Hills Animal Hospital because holes were forming in his skin, he smelled just terrible, and they could get me in immediately, when other vets couldn’t. I had waited much too long to take him to the vet because I had no idea it was so serious. Dr. Acree and his staff were so kind and didn’t make me feel even worse about not realizing how bad it was, sooner. They knew exactly what Ray needed and I could tell he felt much better after his visit. I came back for a checkup a week later and Ray needed more work done. I’m a teacher, so unemployed during the summer. I was worried about what the cost would be and Dr. Acree assured me they’d work with me, and all that mattered was helping Ray get better. Once again, they did a fantastic job, and Ray seems to be feeling a little better. There really aren’t words to express my gratitude. It’s evident they truly care at Cedar Hills Animal Hospital!

Dr. Acree and his staff truly are God sent. They are so very compassionate in their care of our furry loved ones and us. Unlike others in this field that care about $$$ first, they put your baby's needs first. My family was blessed with finding them after Dr. Hite retired. They never act like they are rushed, although they are always busy. They will come and get you, if you prefer to wait in your car. They even have two entrances to make it easier. When you have more questions, feel free to call. They patiently answer or call back with the answers. Dr. Acree has personally called several times about our babies. They never make you fell ignorant. Recently we had to send our baby girl Sheena to Heaven, after everyone had done everything possible to save her. They gave us all the time we wanted to say our goodbyes and helped us make arrangements for her cremation. When we picked her cremains up, they again were very sympathetic and asked how we were all doing. They were the same way several years ago when our boy Zelos died suddenly.They are truly the best asset and people around. May God Bless and watch over all of them.

He truly loves every animal he treats and grieves with us during our losses. Our son passed away a little over two years ago and Dr. Acree came to his service. What vet would do that? The veterinarian was straight to the point and I was in and out. I love the option of the walk in time frames as I was seen promptly. To put it simply I drove all the way from St. Johns County to visit this clinic.

Dr. Acree is a very caring, supportive and kind Veternarian. To me when you see a Vet walk out of the room and cry because there is nothing else he can do because of his love for the animal that says a lot about them and that they are a very caring person. He was an excellent Vet for our dogs Alatna, Cookie, Sparky and Chelsea when we lived in Jacksonville. Even today here in Conway, AR where I live I still brag about him to the other Vets here where I live and speak highly of him. You won't be disappointed in him and his staff. I highly recommend him!

He gives them such great care. You can see how much he loves and really cares about your pets. My family and I use to live close to Cedar Hills but since moved many years ago to the other side of town. We will gladly go to the end of the earth to bring our animals to him! That is how much of a fan we are! Not only you get such great care but his fees are very reasonable too. Once you go to them, you won't go anywhere else.

Dr Acree is a wonderful Doctor. My first experience with Cedar Hills Animal Hosp, was unexpected. We had a house fire and our dog JoJo was burned pretty bad. I had to leave Jacksonville urgent to go to Shands Burn Center in Gainesville because my husband was burned badly & they
life flighted him there.. Everything fell into place because a friend of my sister n law, met us and took JoJo to Cedar Hills Animal Hosp., while we were leaving for Gainesville. Dr Acree and his staff treated JoJo like he was there own dog, they actually named him: Smokin Jo! One of wonderful staff members took JoJo out every day to sit under a tree with him. JoJo stayed there for 2 weeks. Dr Acree charged me $0.00. I could not believe it. Such a kind Dr and office staff. I will never take my pets anywhere else.
My second experience was Friday, 08/15/2014. We had a very old cat that got cancer in his jaw. It was horrible. We knew what the only option was going to be. Dr Acree was so kind during the entire process, he made "little kitty" very comfortable before the final injection was given. The entire time during the last injection Dr spoke to Little Kitty.... Dr was saying "it's going to be ok buddy" we were crying our eyes out(husband & myself) but Dr Acree was so caring, and talked with us to try to make us feel better. He did. I would vote him the Best Vet in Jacksonville, Florida!

Dr. Acree is very kind and examined my pet. It was a first visit for us. He never checked on him though after he examined him. We were simply told to f/u. However, the receptionist made me feel odd with her questioning. I had referred my neighbor to them after they rescued a four year old dog who needed neutering. They too had an odd experience with the receptionist on the phone who made them feel bad about rescuing a non pure bred dog who had not been neutered. In the end, we moved to another animal hospital, Blanding Blvd where we had excellent treatment! The staff even called to check on my cat to see how he was doing over the weekend. They were thorough, listened and made me have faith that all of the staff had my pet's best interest at heart! I would have gone back to Dr. Acree regardless of his style of medicine because he was nice enough but did not want to have to have an awkward conversation with the receptionist. Blanding Blvd Animal Hospital is fabulous! They worked hard to problem solve what was going on with my cat and provide him symptom and comfort measures.

Dr Acree is trustworthy, compassionate, and affordable. He's been my vet for many years. He has a big heart. He has seen my pets through some trying illnesses...and sometimes they have been due to my stupidity of not seeking his care soon enough. It's a tough lesson to learn when one realizes their pet has been suffering. He never says to me that I should have come sooner...my babies have been fortunate enough to come through and recover. Lucy's eye recovered with his care after I ignored that it was watering for two weeks...it took three months of treatment before her ulcered eye fully recovered. That was a sobering lesson for me. He was so compassionate to me and to Lucy. And once, years ago, when I STUPIDLY retreated my cat with topical flea medication after I bathed her, POISONING her, and later found her near death, Dr Acree treated her with an antidote and didn't charge me a thing, and she recovered fully. He's the best vet I have ever found. He really cares about the animals.

Many years ago I used another Vet. When I took my beagle Shadrack to that particular Vet, he would get very agitated and begin panting heavily and doing the "beagle bay". Something happened and that particular Vet was not available in an emergency situation. I went to Cedar Hills Animal Hospital in an attempt to alleviate his suffering. Dr. Acree and the entire staff were immediately supportive and went into overdrive to tend to the needs of Shadrack. I was so grateful that they saved my beloved companion that I moved my services to them permanently. Shadrack had an entirely different response going to Dr. Acree. He got very happy instead of anxious. He really became quite the ham, and to this day there are pictures of him waving at them as he begged for his "treats". Shadrack is long gone now, but multiple generations of beagles continue to visit this loving and awesome veterinarian.

Hello and thanks very much to Dr. Acree and staff at Cedar Hills Animal Hospital for all of the support I have received from my first visit in 1998 when I returned back to Jacksonville, Florida after being gone from here for about 30 years
As far as I am concerned there is no better Veterinarian Clinic in Jacksonville. As per Dr. Acree’s suggestion on a method to help less fortunate animals, We are sending $100.00 to the Safe Animal Shelter in Clay County, and I plan on following up with more donations in the future.
I wish him and all of his staff the best during this holiday season! Your help will not be forgotten by me or my wife.

I also agree with a few of the reviews regarding staff. I was treated very rudely by the receptionist Marissa. My dog was dying and over a weeks period I had many questions in regards to euthanasia, cremation and the entire process. I was made to feel by her that I was being a bother. Finally I had enough and the day before the euthanasia appointment I asked her to have Dr. Acree call me. She never have him the message and I never got the call. Dr. Acree is an amazing vet but the unprofessionalism and uncaring attitude of this receptionist puts a damper on the practice as a whole. Sadly my last memories of my dog will always include how bad I was treated the last week of his life

My sister in-law had very good experiences here when her dog had a very long history of medical problems, so I reached out to them when we had to take our very ill cat to the vet. Dr. Acree and his staff were incredible. I walked in and as soon as I started speaking to the receptionist, I started crying like a fool, but they were so nice and gentle. The vet tech and doctor were so kind and had the best bedside manner - better than any human doctor and nurse I've encountered! They showed such empathy towards our senior cat. When it was time to put him down, they couldn't have been more courteous of our space. It's been over six months now and as heartbreaking as our reasoning for being there was, I am still very thankful for the genuinely kind treatment we received at Cedar Hills. We just adopted two kittens from the Human Society and because of our past experiences, there's no place I'd rather take them. Heads up, this is a walk-in only clinic. Appointments are not necessary. Wait time during the weekdays is not bad.

My blind dachshund was bitten by a snake and I had no idea. I took him to Cedar Hills Animal Hospital because holes were forming in his skin, he smelled just terrible, and they could get me in immediately, when other vets couldn’t. I had waited much too long to take him to the vet because I had no idea it was so serious. Dr. Acree and his staff were so kind and didn’t make me feel even worse about not realizing how bad it was, sooner. They knew exactly what Ray needed and I could tell he felt much better after his visit. I came back for a checkup a week later and Ray needed more work done. I’m a teacher, so unemployed during the summer. I was worried about what the cost would be and Dr. Acree assured me they’d work with me, and all that mattered was helping Ray get better. Once again, they did a fantastic job, and Ray seems to be feeling a little better. There really aren’t words to express my gratitude. It’s evident they truly care at Cedar Hills Animal Hospital!

Dr. Acree and his staff truly are God sent. They are so very compassionate in their care of our furry loved ones and us. Unlike others in this field that care about $$$ first, they put your baby's needs first. My family was blessed with finding them after Dr. Hite retired. They never act like they are rushed, although they are always busy. They will come and get you, if you prefer to wait in your car. They even have two entrances to make it easier. When you have more questions, feel free to call. They patiently answer or call back with the answers. Dr. Acree has personally called several times about our babies. They never make you fell ignorant. Recently we had to send our baby girl Sheena to Heaven, after everyone had done everything possible to save her. They gave us all the time we wanted to say our goodbyes and helped us make arrangements for her cremation. When we picked her cremains up, they again were very sympathetic and asked how we were all doing. They were the same way several years ago when our boy Zelos died suddenly.They are truly the best asset and people around. May God Bless and watch over all of them.

He truly loves every animal he treats and grieves with us during our losses. Our son passed away a little over two years ago and Dr. Acree came to his service. What vet would do that? The veterinarian was straight to the point and I was in and out. I love the option of the walk in time frames as I was seen promptly. To me when you see a Vet walk out of the room and cry because there is nothing else he can do because of his love for the animal that says a lot about them and that they are a very caring person. He was an excellent Vet for our dogs Alatna, Cookie, Sparky and Chelsea when we lived in Jacksonville. Even today here in Conway, AR where I live I still brag about him to the other Vets here where I live and speak highly of him. You won't be disappointed in him and his staff. I highly recommend him!

He gives them such great care. You can see how much he loves and really cares about your pets. My family and I use to live close to Cedar Hills but since moved many years ago to the other side of town. We will gladly go to the end of the earth to bring our animals to him! That is how much of a fan we are! Not only you get such great care but his fees are very reasonable too. Once you go to them, you won't go anywhere else.

Dr Acree is a wonderful Doctor. My first experience with Cedar Hills Animal Hosp, was unexpected. We had a house fire and our dog JoJo was burned pretty bad. I had to leave Jacksonville urgent to go to Shands Burn Center in Gainesville because my husband was burned badly & they
life flighted him there.. Everything fell into place because a friend of my sister n law, met us and took JoJo to Cedar Hills Animal Hosp., while we were leaving for Gainesville. Dr Acree and his staff treated JoJo like he was there own dog, they actually named him: Smokin Jo! One of wonderful staff members took JoJo out every day to sit under a tree with him. JoJo stayed there for 2 weeks. Dr Acree charged me $0.00. I could not believe it. Such a kind Dr and office staff. I will never take my pets anywhere else.
My second experience was Friday, 08/15/2014. We had a very old cat that got cancer in his jaw. It was horrible. We knew what the only option was going to be. Dr Acree was so kind during the entire process, he made "little kitty" very comfortable before the final injection was given. The entire time during the last injection Dr spoke to Little Kitty.... Dr was saying "it's going to be ok buddy" we were crying our eyes out(husband & myself) but Dr Acree was so caring, and talked with us to try to make us feel better. He did. I would vote him the Best Vet in Jacksonville, Florida!

Dr. Acree is very kind and examined my pet. It was a first visit for us. He never checked on him though after he examined him. We were simply told to f/u. However, the receptionist made me feel odd with her questioning. I had referred my neighbor to them after they rescued a four year old dog who needed neutering. They too had an odd experience with the receptionist on the phone who made them feel bad about rescuing a non pure bred dog who had not been neutered. In the end, we moved to another animal hospital, Blanding Blvd where we had excellent treatment! The staff even called to check on my cat to see how he was doing over the weekend. They were thorough, listened and made me have faith that all of the staff had my pet's best interest at heart! I would have gone back to Dr. Acree regardless of his style of medicine because he was nice enough but did not want to have to have an awkward conversation with the receptionist. Blanding Blvd Animal Hospital is fabulous! They worked hard to problem solve what was going on with my cat and provide him symptom and comfort measures.

Dr Acree is trustworthy, compassionate, and affordable. He's been my vet for many years. He has a big heart. He has seen my pets through some trying illnesses...and sometimes they have been due to my stupidity of not seeking his care soon enough. It's a tough lesson to learn when one realizes their pet has been suffering. He never says to me that I should have come sooner...my babies have been fortunate enough to come through and recover. Lucy's eye recovered with his care after I ignored that it was watering for two weeks...it took three months of treatment before her ulcered eye fully recovered. That was a sobering lesson for me. He was so compassionate to me and to Lucy. And once, years ago, when I STUPIDLY retreated my cat with topical flea medication after I bathed her, POISONING her, and later found her near death, Dr Acree treated her with an antidote and didn't charge me a thing, and she recovered fully. He's the best vet I have ever found. He really cares about the animals.

Many years ago I used another Vet. When I took my beagle Shadrack to that particular Vet, he would get very agitated and begin panting heavily and doing the "beagle bay". Something happened and that particular Vet was not available in an emergency situation. I went to Cedar Hills Animal Hospital in an attempt to alleviate his suffering. Dr. Acree and the entire staff were immediately supportive and went into overdrive to tend to the needs of Shadrack. I was so grateful that they saved my beloved companion that I moved my services to them permanently. Shadrack had an entirely different response going to Dr. Acree. He got very happy instead of anxious. He really became quite the ham, and to this day there are pictures of him waving at them as he begged for his "treats". Shadrack is long gone now, but multiple generations of beagles continue to visit this loving and awesome veterinarian.
