Lakewood is the best place in the 904 to take your pets. I've personally known the doctors & staff since I was 14 years old and still to this day take my pets! I recommend if you live in the 904 or just passing by and you need your pet looked at for sure hit them up Read Less

Very happy with our most recent visit where our Italian Mastiff needed to have his nails trimmed, ears cleaned and blood drawn. Everyone had a smile on their face (as well as sweat) after wrestling with our beast as he is not one to sit idly by...The Dr was observant and was frank and honest which we appreciated. Read Less

The staff here are excellent! We have two dogs, a 12 year old Maltese-Poodle mix and a 5 year old Maltese-Yorkie. Both have received excellent care. When our 12 year old injured her rear leg with an ACL tear we thought she may need surgery. Laser therapy was a treatment option and I'm so glad it was. After several months of therapy our little girl is back to normal activity. Dr. Sandler is wonderful! Read Less

This was the worst vet experience I've ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. No other customers in the office. The vet was rude and had no bedside manner. Told me not to use q-tips in my dogs ears and stuck them in hers over and over again as she was in pain. Very disappointed. Left before he finished. Definitely don't recommend. Read Less

This is such a great clinic! All of the staff are friendly and caring and it's obvious that they love animals. I've been twice now and was immediately helped (no waiting, didn't even see a waiting room!). Dr. Sandler and techs are very sweet and patient with my little rescue pup who is quite timid at first meeting. I definitely recommend Lakewood to anyone looking for a new (or better) vet. Read Less

Dr. Sandler is the best! Neville actually enjoys going to the vet and it greeted with fanfare every time we arrive. Now my mom even brings her pups down from Atlanta regularly just see Dr. Sandler. She has three old doxies and he did all their teeth with no problems at all. We both only trust our animals to Lakewood AC. Read Less

They do things without asking, like blood tests. My wife and I are being charged for something we did not ask for which is going to cost us almost $500. Also, they are over priced in all of the procedures and shots that they have used. I have never paid so much for any of my animals visits and the vets never charged for something we didn't ask for. I would rather go to Beltway Animal Clinic which has better service but cheaper prices! Read Less

I went in on a Sat morning with, what I thought was, an emergency. The staff were pleasant and reassuring. I was promptly taken back and my cat's situation evaluated. Dr. Sandler quickly eased my concerns and handled the non-emergency situation. I would happily recommend them to anyone. Read Less

Dr. Sandler and his staff are awesome! My corgi would probably disagree. He's a handful. Needs to be muzzled & sedated for the sake of everyone's safety and sanity. I came in for an appt., signed the usual sedation forms, but asked that they avoid using any if at all possible. They whisked him away to the back to complete his exam. I braced myself for the sounds of shrieking, overturned tables, an unmuzzled Cuzo-like corgi gone rogue. With the occasional barks from other canine visitors/boarding, it all seemed too quiet. About 20 mins later, my vet tech (Tammy, I think) returned to update me. "WE DID IT!" Blood work done, nails clipped, ears cleaned. There were patches of fur stuck to her cheeks... But the team left unscathed! That wasn't always the case with past visits. Mojo once had a stress-induced episode of canon butt. He was not scheduled for anal gland expression. In trying to hoist him up to an exam table, he not only pooped MY pants, but his writhing around resulted in aerial backsplash. On Dr. Sandler's pressed shirt. And face. His poker face is bar none, seriously. TLDR; Everyone here is incredibly caring, personable, dedicated, and PATIENT. Dr. Sandler addresses all your concerns/questions, explains treatment plans and options, provides referrals to behavioral issue gurus, and is never pushy or dogmatic (bah-dum-tss). If your companion has allergies, that's his thang, so definitely see him. Even if your furry, fuzzy angel isn't so much of an angel towards them, they all will treat him/her like one. & That means a lot to me. :)Read Less
