I love this animal hospital. I first took my dogs here after a friends dog was hit by a car and I saw firsthand how caring and willing to work with you, the staff is. They’ve taken many crazy phone calls from me when I get scared over (looking back on) something silly. Always friendly, always wonderful. Always kind and caring. Our first experience with them was when my 15 year old cat was dying. They were so caring and compassionate. We decided when we got another pet we would take them here. Our Kitty Kelly just loved going to Mandarin Animal Hospital! She's an older girl, 15, and I was concerned that she might have some geriatric problems. Horrible experience. We boarded our baby for the first time here over the weekend. She had a clean bill of health. Happy mini golden doodle. We picked her up on Monday and she is severely injured. She is now wearing a cone! They are lying about what happened. They Will not show me the surveillance tapes or refund or money. Dr. Tiffany is condescending and very rude! They said she wasn't fine when she was dropped off, if that was the case, the entry exam should have showed that!! Very sad for our fur baby. Read Less

Do not take your pet here. I took my dog there for around 6 months, 1500$ into it, we still had no idea what was causing my dog his little bumps on his skin. Each time they wanted me to come back after 2 weeks for a recheck & each time I was back to having to spend 300$. Last thing I went & this will be the last time I will ever go, they gave a shot to my dog without even telling me how much it would cost or really consulting me. I go to the register : 250$. It's been 2 weeks, my dog still have bumps all over his body, the shot that was suppose to be magic & cost me a lot didn't do ANYTHING AT ALL. The vet assistant hung up on me when I called to ask why I was getting charged so much but nothing was getting better.  Then I spoke to the actual vet, he was completely on her side & didn't care at all about what I had to say. He pretty much told me also that he didn't have time to speak to me because he has other things to do. In addition to all of this, the vet assistant also said that my dog was in really bad shape when I brought him in. He has a little skin allergy & I been doing everything to take care of it, its really disrespectful to tell that to a pet owner. "I started working here for a short amount of time and during that time I adopted two cats one of which had bloody diarrhea everyday . They also lived in a small closet like space along with another cat. With the lights off the majority of the time . I also would like to state what the doctor told me about restraining animals . "Hold them so their back is even with your nipples, for you that's pre baby nipples." Also I'd like to add that the cats are in great health since I've taken them else where . Wouldn't see a stray 4-6 week old kitten with a face flesh wound. I dropped the kitten off at 12 and didnt hear about this until 5. Now when I worked there, they would take stray kittens in, fix them up, shots, spay/neuter and then put them up for adoption. I was informed there was too many cats right now. I guess the 6 cats they've taken in (some have been there before I even started) haven't been put up for adoption yet which is sad, they live a long life in a cage with very little interaction. When I worked there I was terrified to bring my own cat to be seen there. Just know if they don't like you, you and your pet gets treated badly or don't get treated at all. I got charged and paid for blood draw on my dog that never happened. As I was walking out to the door to go home they mentioned, 'oh yeah, we never got to your dog.' We are new to this area and have a new puppy. I have seen various veterinarians over my lifetime of pet ownership. The search for a professional to care for my pet always begins with the education and experience of that person, then accessibility to my location in case of emergencies, and the cleanliness and adequacy of the facility for what I anticipate our needs could be. I am a health professional myself and have certain standards for these categories.  Mandarin Animal Hospital has shown itself to be very professional in its relationship with pets and owners, has knowledgable and kind staff who understand dogs (I have no cats) and their owners, and are generous with information and guidance regarding our concerns.  Our precious pup has had immediate and extremely capable care for his two emergencies, as well as routine puppy care. Compared with our previous vet office in another state, MAH fees are quite in line with the quality of care given.  If you are not bringing your pet to this office, you must reconsider your pet's care. I took my dogs here for many of years and finally had enough. The prices are astronomical and every single time they wanted to do so many extra procedures that they made me feel guilty for not getting. It was always a $500 plus bill leaving there. I have never felt so taken advantage of in my entire life. On top of the hefty prices, the staff is beyond rude and the vet is literally in and out of the exam room so,unless you like to give money away then stay far away from this place. HUGE MONEY TRAP! I would like to say thank you to Dr.Mosley, Chole Shawna, front desk, and Dr. Jodie..for their patience, support, prayers. My precious Baylee is in crictial condition..happened fast..not knowing what is going on... Dr.Mosley is doing everything possible to save his life. We thought he had a tumor, he doesn't. Praise the Lord..his bladder was full ...I prayed in my car and said I am not going to loose Baylee..and I am not...Dr Mosley tr 43trreuly cares about you. Baylee is in good hands. Mandarin Animal Hospital has the most caring and knowledgeable staff and vets. We are treated like family. Our pets love everyone here. They do it all in house: routine care, surgery, grooming and boarding. This is especially important to us because our pets are family and we want them to be comfortable and familiar with their surrounding whatever the need. Getting an appointment is super easy and quick, as is being seen once you're there. They have an awesome website that allows you to check test results and upcoming needs. If I could give more stars I would. Dr. Mosley and the staff are so caring and compassionate!! I had recently got a tumor removed for $400 at another clinic and the next day the stitches came all out, it really was a horrible job. So I rushed him to Dr. Mosley's office and they fixed him all up and they worked with me as far as the payments because I just spend all this money in the first place! The vets are very qualified and relatable. Staff is kind and knowledgeable. My issue is when boarding, they do a admissions exam. For my dogs they keep finding things to prescribe medication for. During boarding it is $15/dog/day! For one dog this increased my bill by $100 over a 2 day period (4 pills). Just be aware of this ploy. Excellent, though pricey, vet clinic. Read Less

I have been taking my pets here for about 15 years.  When Dr. Mosley took over, he did a really nice job bringing the office into the 21st century, with nice touches like a Keurig machine, and online account access.  I agree with another reviewer that the amount at checkout can sometimes exceed my expectations.  However, if you are proactive, you won't be shocked.  I keep all past receipts of my visits, so I know exactly what shots and other items my pet got at her last visit, and I know what she needs at this visit.  My receipt also details when the next shot is due.  Some are one year, some are three years.  Ask questions at your checkup, and relay to the doctor exactly what treatments you do and do not want to have.  I have NEVER been pressured or made to feel bad when I declined a treatment. 99% of the time I am in and out of here within a half hour.  They don't cram in scheduling.  My only complaint is that there is never enough available parking.  The lot is just too small. The service you get from the vet and techs is wonderful. Most of the front desk people aren't so pleasant. They have been rude the majority of the time. Only one guy I thought had great customer service. But that's not what frustrates me the most. Every single time we've been in we've asked for a price based on what we have scheduled for, then when we go to the front desk we get COMPLETELY SHOCKED at how much it is.. One time we took our male cat in and they said it was 60 something and that they didn't want us to be shocked how much it would be. Ended up being in the 250 range. Our first visit with our female cat wasn't that much for the same visit reason. Then we took our female in to get fixed they said it would be 125, then if I wanted microchipped installed it would be an extra 50.. Got the call to pick her up and pay, I asked the exact amount and he said give or take 400!! I get in its 475!! Then the girl asked AFTER I pay if I want the tags for the rabies shot, that they didn't tell me they were doing or that she re needed them, that it was an extra $25.. I said didn't I already pay for them? She said no just the shot, that I had to have them so I need to buy them (said very rude),THEN WHY ASK ME IF I WANTED THEM? Why not just throw it on like EVERYTHING else and totally shock me even more with a 500 bill.. I've been to other vets who tell me exactly how much everything will be and what they might have to do, exact price up front. If by chance they need to do anything else they let me know before hand and ask if it was ok at that price.  I give them total respect. BUT NOT when they try to squeeze me dry for money.. I will not be going back.. We've had several visits with a surprise and I've had enough. If they would of just told me up front this might not of scared me away.. Excellent hospital!! I have brought both my dogs here for boarding, exams, acupuncture, laser therapy and vaccines. I buy my high quality dog food here as well. So many services provided under one roof. Not to mention, Dr. Mosley is an amazing doctor! I can't say enough about him and his supporting staff! I love this place! Now that both of my dogs are of a senior age, I was concerned about them receiving proper nutrition to keep them strong and healthy. The staff was extremely helpful and listened to my concerns about preferring a no corn, gluten free diet. My parents live in Jacksonville, Florida, and between their dog and ours, it gets to be an extremely crowded house when we come to visit. We decided this trip we'd board our dog at Mandarin Animal Hospital, which also is where my parent's board/get wellness checkups for their dog. I cannot say enough how impressed I am by this place. I've grown up with them with family pets throughout the years, and trust them more than anyplace I've been to in Alexandria, Va., for our own pet needs. They are also very reasonable in price. Our dog stayed for five days, received a wellness check up, several shots, and a specimen sample, and our bill was under $230. That's exceptional to me. In the Washington, DC, Metro Area, our bill would have probably been close to $500 for all the same care.I find the vet, assistants, and front desk staff to also be very personable to us and loving to our pet. We'll definitely send our dog to stay with them whenever we go to Florida. Read Less

Brought my dog here for acupuncture and laser treatment for her injured back. She is doing great after her appointment. This is the best vet I have ever been too. I consistently recommend this vet to family and friends. I now have convinced every member of my family to bring their pet to this vet and they are just as pleased with the service provided (some even drive 20-30 minutes just to go here). The vet is one of the nicest vets and has a great staff that is just as friendly. The prices are fair and I feel everyone truly has the pet's best interest in mind instead of just trying to make money off of unneeded services. Highly recommend this vet to everyone. Read Less
