My do cash used to go there I went I. Today to get his meds that he needs for his heart. When they said they would call when it was ready I asked if they could please just give me one for the night since he was having a hard time breathing without it. And yes it was my mistake for running out a few days ago and not getting it right away! But then I’m told he has to see the veteran BEFORE they would refill the meds they had already given him with the same symptoms he was brought in for to begin with!!!! Needless to say I was beyond pissed my dog is 12 years old and I feel like they just want the money!! I should have to pay to bring him BACK in for the same thing the first time I took him!! Now I’m going to pay ANOTHER veteran to get these meds I think it was bs!! Read Less

I started with Dr. Woods over 20 years ago. I have continued on with Merrill Animal Clinic. They have always given all of my fur babies the best care possible. The docs, front office and all the staff have always gone above and beyond with all care. They have given emotional support when we've had a couple go over the rainbow bridge. We used to take our dogs here for routine care. They are young. My dog was overnight at the emergency vet in critical condition....when I called Merrill to get him and they (I spoke with the manager and a secretary ) acted as if they didn't want to see him. Their response was that a that would not be in until nine and wasn't going somewhere else? Very disappointed. We will never be back. Read Less

Dr Rogaski did a thorough exam on my guy, who has severe neurological problems. As she was performing all the various tests and maneuvers on him, she took the time to explain not only what she was doing, but what the signs meant. She treated my dog with care and compassion. She made recommendations in an order that was reasonable and well thought out. The tech, Becky, was also professional and caring. Front end staff were polite and efficient. We recently moved to Jax almost a year ago and we were worried about not being able to find a vet that we loved as much as we do as the one we had back home but our boy ruger has been going to merrill road animal clinic shortly after we settled in here and we absolutely love the expierance we get from this wonderful place! We couldn't be happier with how they treat our baby boy and now we have another 4 legged addition to our family and she will be visiting merrill road animal clinic as well! We used the boarding service and due to an airport delay in Orlando we were not going to get to the vets office until 6:00 between 6:15 to pick up our dog. We called at 4:00 and spoke to Laura to let them know and ask if they could stay open for 15 minutes. We were advised it shouldn't be a problem and to call back at 5:30. We called back at 5:30 and spoke to Ivanka and let them know we will be there at 6:10 and we were advised they would not release a dog after 6:00. After further pleading I was told the office is closed at 6:00 and they would not wait or release our dog. I was told at 4:00 it should not be a problem and now had to scramble to arrange for someone to get our dog. Such horrible customer service! We had someone get our dog, but still went to the office. We got there at 6:06 and the office was open. Shameful. Very shameful. I walked in saw Laura and Ivanka shaked my head and left. I did not say a word. I decided to go back in to the office to take a pic to include with my letter to the owner. The door was locked and Ivanka was walking away. I tapped on the glass to get her attention to snap a pic and she gave the middle finger. Full of class! Read Less

We used the boarding service for four nights for our dog Tucker while we were on vacation getting engaged. We were advised we had to pick him up by 6:00PM. Unfortunately the baggage claim conveyor broke and we were delayed at the airport for 45 minutes. We checked the GPS and realized our arrival was going to be cutting it very close. We called the vet office and spoke to Laura and explained we may be up to 15 minutes late and if they would be willing to wait. We were advised that it should not be a problem and to call back at 5:30. We called back at 5:30 and spoke to Ivanka to let them know we would be there by 6:10 at the latest. She said they could not release a dog after 6:00. If we knew this on the first call we could have made arrangements to have someone get him. Any pet owner knows you can't wait to see your dog. It had already been 4 nights. I explained I have used them for 5 years and my parents over 8 years and asked if they could make an exception. Ivanka did not budge. She refused to wait 10 minutes. At this point I lost my cool and said a nasty word and hung up. I am not proud of myself for that. Luckily for us we were able to reach my amazing parents who live around the corner from the vet and they got him for us just before 6:00. I was furious they would not accommodate us and forced me to reach out to my parents. Why would the vets office tell us that they would wait then decide not to 30 minutes before you close. I'd have paid for another night. I just needed to see my dog today. I decided to swing by the office on the way to my parents because I felt they would still be there. We arrived at 6:06 and saw a woman walking out with her dog and the office door was open. I walked in and there is Laura and Ivanka. I shook my head, did not say a word and walked out. I turned around and decided to take a picture showing them there to provide along with the letter I am going to write to the owner. Ivanka had just locked the door so I knocked as she was walking away and snapped a picture through the glass. At this same time Ivanka turned and shot me a bird. I must say the vets and staff have always been amazing with the exception of today. I am very disappointed in this whole experience. I hold Ivanka accountable and not the clinic. Maybe she had a bad day. We all deserve a pass at some point so I hope this was an exception and not her norm. I was not proud of dropping a F bomb when I hung up, but I was respectful when arriving and calling. I don't see us using them again and my parents business maybe lost as well.Read Less

Doctor Cuthbert REFUSED to prescribe Apoquel for my Tucker today. He is two years old and has terrible skin issues. We have changed his food a few times ( on her recommendations) I bathe him at least once a week with prescribed shampoo. We have spent nearly two THOUSAND dollars to a dermatologist on Doctor Cuthbert's recommendation with no resolution at All. The one thing that keeps him from breakouts that look like he laid in a bed of fire ants is Apoquel! And NO my baby does not lay in ant beds. He a very loved house dog. She, nor any other vet at Merrill will be our Doctor ever again. Read Less

My dogs have received excellent care, both veterinary and boarding services! The doctors, techs and the front desk staff are always professional and make you feel like you are family. My dogs are always excited to go to the vet! Everything is clean and smells good in both the lobby and the exam rooms. I have nothing but good to say about Merrill Road Animal Clinic and their staff! Drs Cuthbert was awesome and forthcoming about Oscar's health and what we can do to prolong his life. We can tell she really loves being a veterinarian. Not very happy..took my cat in today because he was having convulsions they didnt even do a physical exam on him because he wouldn't have it. But after not even touching him they charged me nearly 50$. Not a price I should have to pay when my cat wasn't even examined. Thankfully he is doing better on his own. They couldn't tell me any definite reason for the episode. Without any diagnosis or even exam I feel like the visit should have just been written off. I would like to add that the staff is very nice I just feel like the visit was not properly handled. When I brought him in I didn't even get to see a doctor. Read Less

They changed the price of what they quoted over the phone. I was very clear asking them the fees, they were clear with the answers. When I mentioned she told me different prices on the phone she acknowledged it, agreed, but said she was still charging me more. Read Less

I love the staff at Merrill Animal Clinic, I've been taking my animals there since 2000, when I moved to Jacksonville. Dr. Woods has the most compassionate staff. They truly care about my pets as if they were their own! Read Less

A sore tooth, bone splinter caught in his teeth, sore throat...panic set in, my dog of 10 years, J.C. was not acting right, would not eat, drink or let me near his mouth, ignored his special treats...I immediately called Merrill Animal Clinic as J.C. has been going there since his rescue at 10 weeks old, 10 years ago. Dr. Rogaski checked out his mouth and throat thoroughly, as best as you can do with a dog clamping his jaw shut! Nothing was visually wrong, She spent quality, concerned time with us, not unusual for Merrill Animal Clinic, but impressive none the less. Then Dr. Rogaski gave me three different meds to start, i.e., something to coat his throat, pain pills and an antibiotic and by the next morning, he was 75% better, whatever it was that was the culprit, I'm just so thankful Dr. Rogaski had the skills and wisdom to prescribe the right meds to battle the ""unknown""...The entire staff, office and vet assistants and of course the vets are top notch in customer service, compassion and most importantly, excellent, skilled vet care.
