I've had pets my entire life. Dogs, cats, birds, crabs, turtles, newts, fish, an iguana... name it, with the exception of snakes, I've probably had it. The lab we had when I was a kid lived to be 22yrs old. Dr Plant @Herschel Animal Clinic was a beloved family friend and treated our pets for years but occasionally, because of the proximity to our home, we'd go to Mirmar. It wasn't until we had a serious crisis that Mirmar became our go to vet. My (Pitt) bulldog at a mini corn cob and it stopped him up like a cork. After multiple visits to another clinic we finally went to Mirmar as a last ditch effort. Although it was an extremely close call, Mirmar was able to diagnose and operate and ultimately save him. He didn't even have 50/50 odds after surgery. The after hours ICU vet on Southside Blvd (which he had to be shuttled to every night, back to Mirmar in the morning) told me to prepare myself because successful outcomes were rare. The only thing he had going for him was that he was a bulldog and they're a tough and tenacious breed. But thanks to the excellent treatment and care he received from Mirmar, as well as ICU follow up, he pulled thru. Since then they've exclusively treated our three dogs and multiple cats for everything from routine wellness to thyroid issues, cancer, etc. I'm sure you could find clinics that are lower cost but, as with everything else, you get what you pay for. And, at Mirmar, what you get is absolutely top notch treatment for pets as well as top notch service for the pets' people. Dr Stacy is incredibly thorough and conscientious and amazingly kind. He's always treated our pets as if they were his own. If your animal is truly a part of your family and you want the top level of care for it, just as you'd want for yourself, you can't go wrong @ Mirmar. Read Less
