Their office always wants to charge for dumb stuff like "nurse fee" for poop and an "wellness fee" for a damn shot! Which equates to $48 for them giving the dog a $18 shot. I'm going back to Ft. Caroline Animal Clinic where they're "real" with you. I'm not paying for your building renovations.

My husband recently took my two cats there for the 50% off new customer discounts. With regular exam and necessary shots the prices are very reasonable and they provided some useful tips regarding their diet and gave estimates for some dental procedures. It is pretty pricy and they don't offer any financing option but overall the experience was pleasant. They have great follow up calls and easy to use customer portal for online access.

One thing I take very seriously as a pet mom is the care provided to her.I came to Monument Road Animal Hospital to get a second opinion for my dog, Luna. We'd been back to our original vet several times regarding an issue that just kept coming back. Dr. November immediately confirmed my suspicions (Luna's itching was probably caused by allergies) which the other doctor repeatedly brushed off.Not only did she accurately diagnose Luna's problem, but she also prescribed medicine that would actually help her. Luna has shown significant improvement in the days since her appointment. I cannot describe how much of a relief it is to see her calm and not constantly itching.I left feeling much more informed and empowered. THANK YOU to Dr. November for providing us all peace of mind. Luna is back to her happy self after months of suffering!

Yesterday was the first time I have been to Monument animal hospital, it was for an emergency C section for my dog who was in labor. The staff and the vet were so nice and helpful and caring, all the other places I had called we're not friendly or helpful. They were able to get us right in and they kept me updated during her surgery and Dr Wilson called me as soon as her surgery was done he was very caring and I felt safe leaving my baby with them! I am so glad I took her there! I will definitely be taking all my dogs there from now on!

My dog died a month after receiving a clean bill of health at her annual exam. They did not investigate the symptoms I described. Just brushed it off as "her age". She had a large tumor inside. A competent vet should have discovered it or felt something unusual by palpating my dog, then run additional tests to find out what the strange lump was, especially since cancer and tumors are fairly common in older dogs. They should have thoroughly examined her, including touching her. I may have been able to get her into surgery in time.

Then earlier this week, my cat became suddenly very ill one morning. I called the vet repeatedly with no answer; the machine said "if this is a daytime emergency, please walk in with your pet." I kept calling on the way and finally someone answered - they told me the vet was busy, they already had an emergency walking in later in the day, and that I just "need to go to another vet." Are you kidding me?! I found another vet... and immediately transferred all my pets over to them as well. What horrible, horrible service.

We have been a patient of Dr. Wilson at Monument Road Animal Hospital for several years and can say hands down that we receive the best care of any vet in North Florida. Dr. Wilson is very thorough, HONEST and trustworthy. If meds don't work you can return them for a refund. He will go to bat for second opinions if needed and he is well networked with world renowned specialists that are quick to respond to Dr. Wilson when he needs them. I have sent my grandparents, parents, aunt and two friends to this vet and everyone absolutely loves it here. I would go here for my own medical treatment if I could, before any hospital in Jax.

We love it here! Our older dog is almost 14 and we've been to two other vets in his lifetime, which were fine. My friend recommended Monument Road Animal Hospital and we've been so pleased with their competence, compassion, and true caring about our dogs. The doctors are awesome - knowledgeable, down to earth and they take the time to address any concern. The entire staff is also extremely attentive and friendly. We highly recommend them.

There are not enough words to describe the loving care Dr. Wilson and his staff give to their fur patients. Our beloved Jazmen was a patient for almost her entire life, and after being diagnosed with renal failure, we were very pleased with their bedside manner during our fur babe’s vet visits. When we lost her 3 years after being diagnosed, their sympathy and love for our sweet cat became very apparent. One of the hardest days of our lives, was bittersweet knowing we did everything we could do and always made sure she had the best care possible. We will always use MRAH for our pet care needs, and in Jazmen’s honor we will be adopting a new feline from a shelter, just as we did her on October 1, 2005. <3

Right out of the gate, let me say that they are spectacular! We just moved here from Texas and needed to catch our dog up on shots and get him neutered. The office staff was helpful and personable (gave great ideas on things to do in our new city). The nurse took her time to explain everything to us including the bill (more on that below). The vet spent a few minutes with us to make sure we didn't have questions. The cool thing is that he personally called us after the surgery to tell us how it went. Our dog was well cared for and we are so pleased with the overall experience. The price did seem a bit high (perhaps compared to rates we had in West Texas) but the quoted price of $890 ended up being $777 because they did not have to perform some of the quoted procedures during the surgery. Nice to see that they were willing to (without being asked) adjust the price according to what was performed rather than just sticking to the quote.We will be taking our dog and cat to them from now on for sure.

We got there about an hour until closing time, but they got me right in and were very nice, even though they knew they were going to be there after closing time. The techs/nurses were incredibly caring and nice. They did xrays and it looked like a really bad break, but they referred me to a specialist so it could be looked at by a doctor that could see if he needed surgery. I was a bit panicky because I didn't want him to have to have surgery or be completely put under. All I could think about was if he was going to be able to be himself again. The whole group was amazing. I think they liked Pee Wee just a little :)

Let me start by saying I never leave Yelp reviews, but after my experience with Dr. Wilson, I felt I had to! I was nervous about taking my cat to a new vet after recently moving to Jacksonville, but these guys are as good as it gets! Honestly, much better than my last vet (shh!) Dr. Wilson was so gentle and kind to my very scared kitty, and explained everything he was doing along the way. The staff were all amazing, and didn't push for any extra or unnecessary treatments. Can't say enough positive things about this place!

We were heartbroken. But Dr. C, Dr. Wilson and their staff went to work and provided amazing and life saving care. The facility is senior pet friendly with textured floors to prevent older pets from slipping and injuring themselves . One of the few vet facilities I have ever seen do this and feel more places should follow their example . The staff is very helpful and take pride in their work . This place was great! Luckily my little girl didn't have anything serious but man did they treat us and her so well. The staff was so friendly and the vet was as well. I especially loved that she didn't push unnecessary tests to be done. I was expecting to pay much more and at the end I did but only because I had asked for regular prevention testing and some prevention meds. Will definitely be making this place our go to. She will be needing a few extractions and finally feel I found a vet I'm comfortable with and trust with my little one.

In Jamuary 2016 our elderly Maltese Maggie Mae got sick while visiting my son in Jacksonville. We're from New York. My son's dogs go to Monument. Mike called and Maggie was seen by Dr Wilson that afternoon. Diagnosed her issue and treatment prescribed. Dr Wilson and his staff called to follow up on her several times. Such a caring doctor and amazing staff. Definitely a five star facility. They went above and beyond. Most veterinary hospitals would tell you to go to the local Animal Emergency Hospital if you are from out of town. My son is lucky to have them for his three dogs.

On Wednesday I had to put down my 17 year old cat that I had raised since she was a baby. Her turn for the worse was very sudden and I needed a same day appointment. This Hospital took Minnie and me in that morning and put my sweet girl to rest. I was an absolute mess the entire time and the staff was incredibly comforting. You can tell that Monument Road Animal Clinic truly cares about your pet, from their calming demeanor upon arrival to remembering your pet's quirks and accommodating them. My wife and I used to bring our previous pup here for care and boarding when we lived in the Regency area. After making a move to the beach, we go to another clinic for check ups and medication only as a result of limited time and proximity. If we're heading out of town though, we trust no one but Monument Road to take care of our little guy when we're away.

Having just moved to Jacksonville we were worried about finding a really good vet for our two dogs but we needn't have worried. I did a lot of research and finally decided to try Dr Wilson and I am so glad I did. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in the door. They follow up your visit with a phone call to check if your furbabies are doing okay and if you have any questions you forgot to ask. Dr Wilson is wonderful with the dogs - taking his time and really giving them a thorough checkup. He makes sure to answer all you questions and listens to you carefully. I am very impressed that the charges here are very reasonable and certainly worth it for the service you get. We will be regulars from now on.

Luci was a very healthy, happy mini schnauzer for 9/1/2 yrs; then suddenly seizures began for no apparent reason. Dr. Matthew Wilson, Amanda, Leilani and all the rest of the staff at MRAH have been a blessing. They've known Luci since she was 8 weeks old and I've always felt like they take care of her like she is their own. Luci loves, loves loves going there; she greets the staff when we arrive and happily goes with staff to have the "prodding" tests done (fecal exam, temp, etc). With the excellent care and medical expertise of Dr. Wilson, Luci's seizures are 98% controlled (they are never 100%). I was happy Dr Wilson & MRAH were Luci's healthcare providers before the seizures. Now I'm eternally thankful I chose this facility.

I would like to thank Dr. Wilson and his amazing staff at MRAH. They took such good care of my Pug and also my sister's dog when she had surgery. I have been to many animal hospitals over the years and this place is by far the best. They go out of their way to make sure you and your pets are taken care of and it's easy to see that everyone there genuinely cares about animals. I can honestly say that when I take my pets there they are in the best care possible and I recommend MRAH to everyone I know.

The staff is and Dr. Wilson are fantastic. They call after seeing your pets to see how they are doing. I would never allow my dogs or puppies to go anywhere other than MRAH. They are the best and there is nobody better. I have never ever had a bad experience with MRAH, and I trust them completely.

I initially went to MRAH when my dog suddenly became very ill. After an emergency surgery, my dog recovered and lived many happy healthy years after. I have continued to go to MRAH where my dog and cat receive outstanding care. The staff is happy to provide an up front estimate for services and will always call to follow up after a visit. The doctor and staff are among the most friendly, compassionate people you'll find to care for your beloved four legged family members. I would recommend them without hesitation.

We trusted them with the care of our 2 small dogs while we were out of town. We had used this vet a couple times for shots and they seemed fine. When we picked them up after our trip they both had bad rashes and when we got them home they seemed sick. It turned out they got Kennel Cough and our Daschund had an injured back. When I called up there a lady treated me as if I was lying. Then she refused to have the doctor call me. I sent emails to the doctor and never heard back. The ONLY thing they would even do was have me pay for a visit to see the doctor and that was the only way I was going to see or talk to the vet. I refused to give them any more money since they had caused this trauma to my pets. They refused to see me without paying, so I sought care from another vet. I am very happy with the new one. Good Riddance to the unprofessionalism and harmful care we recieved from Monument Road Animal Hospital. I am also filing a complaint with the state regulatory board. You have been warned!

Their office always wants to charge for dumb stuff like "nurse fee" for poop and an "wellness fee" for a damn shot! Which equates to $48 for them giving the dog a $18 shot. I'm going back to Ft. Caroline Animal Clinic where they're "real" with you. I'm not paying for your building renovations.

My husband recently took my two cats there for the 50% off new customer discounts. With regular exam and necessary shots the prices are very reasonable and they provided some useful tips regarding their diet and gave estimates for some dental procedures. It is pretty pricy and they don't offer any financing option but overall the experience was pleasant. They have great follow up calls and easy to use customer portal for online access.

One thing I take very seriously as a pet mom is the care provided to her.I came to Monument Road Animal Hospital to get a second opinion for my dog, Luna. We'd been back to our original vet several times regarding an issue that just kept coming back. Dr. November immediately confirmed my suspicions (Luna's itching was probably caused by allergies) which the other doctor repeatedly brushed off.Not only did she accurately diagnose Luna's problem, but she also prescribed medicine that would actually help her. Luna has shown significant improvement in the days since her appointment. I cannot describe how much of a relief it is to see her calm and not constantly itching.I left feeling much more informed and empowered. THANK YOU to Dr. November for providing us all peace of mind. Luna is back to her happy self after months of suffering!

Yesterday was the first time I have been to Monument animal hospital, it was for an emergency C section for my dog who was in labor. The staff and the vet were so nice and helpful and caring, all the other places I had called we're not friendly or helpful. They were able to get us right in and they kept me updated during her surgery and Dr Wilson called me as soon as her surgery was done he was very caring and I felt safe leaving my baby with them! I am so glad I took her there! I will definitely be taking all my dogs there from now on!

My dog died a month after receiving a clean bill of health at her annual exam. They did not investigate the symptoms I described. Just brushed it off as "her age". She had a large tumor inside. A competent vet should have discovered it or felt something unusual by palpating my dog, then run additional tests to find out what the strange lump was, especially since cancer and tumors are fairly common in older dogs. They should have thoroughly examined her, including touching her. I may have been able to get her into surgery in time.

I had been using MRAH for a few years. I was slightly concerned that a diabetes diagnosis was missed in my cat, but continued using the hospital. Then earlier this week, my cat became suddenly very ill one morning. I called the vet repeatedly with no answer; the machine said "if this is a daytime emergency, please walk in with your pet." I kept calling on the way and finally someone answered - they told me the vet was busy, they already had an emergency walking in later in the day, and that I just "need to go to another vet." Are you kidding me?! I found another vet... and immediately transferred all my pets over to them as well. What horrible, horrible service.

We have been a patient of Dr. Wilson at Monument Road Animal Hospital for several years and can say hands down that we receive the best care of any vet in North Florida. Dr. Wilson is very thorough, HONEST and trustworthy. If meds don't work you can return them for a refund. He will go to bat for second opinions if needed and he is well networked with world renowned specialists that are quick to respond to Dr. Wilson when he needs them. I have sent my grandparents, parents, aunt and two friends to this vet and everyone absolutely loves it here. I would go here for my own medical treatment if I could, before any hospital in Jax.

We love it here! Our older dog is almost 14 and we've been to two other vets in his lifetime, which were fine. My friend recommended Monument Road Animal Hospital and we've been so pleased with their competence, compassion, and true caring about our dogs. The doctors are awesome - knowledgeable, down to earth and they take the time to address any concern. The entire staff is also extremely attentive and friendly. We highly recommend them.

There are not enough words to describe the loving care Dr. Wilson and his staff give to their fur patients. Our beloved Jazmen was a patient for almost her entire life, and after being diagnosed with renal failure, we were very pleased with their bedside manner during our fur babe’s vet visits. When we lost her 3 years after being diagnosed, their sympathy and love for our sweet cat became very apparent. One of the hardest days of our lives, was bittersweet knowing we did everything we could do and always made sure she had the best care possible. We will always use MRAH for our pet care needs, and in Jazmen’s honor we will be adopting a new feline from a shelter, just as we did her on October 1, 2005. <3

Right out of the gate, let me say that they are spectacular! We just moved here from Texas and needed to catch our dog up on shots and get him neutered. The office staff was helpful and personable (gave great ideas on things to do in our new city). The nurse took her time to explain everything to us including the bill (more on that below). The vet spent a few minutes with us to make sure we didn't have questions. The cool thing is that he personally called us after the surgery to tell us how it went. Our dog was well cared for and we are so pleased with the overall experience. The price did seem a bit high (perhaps compared to rates we had in West Texas) but the quoted price of $890 ended up being $777 because they did not have to perform some of the quoted procedures during the surgery. Nice to see that they were willing to (without being asked) adjust the price according to what was performed rather than just sticking to the quote.We will be taking our dog and cat to them from now on for sure.

We thought my puppy had broken his leg so we went to the nearest veterinarian with the highest rating. We got there about an hour until closing time, but they got me right in and were very nice, even though they knew they were going to be there after closing time. The techs/nurses were incredibly caring and nice. They did xrays and it looked like a really bad break, but they referred me to a specialist so it could be looked at by a doctor that could see if he needed surgery. I was a bit panicky because I didn't want him to have to have surgery or be completely put under. All I could think about was if he was going to be able to be himself again. The whole group was amazing. I think they liked Pee Wee just a little :)

Let me start by saying I never leave Yelp reviews, but after my experience with Dr. Wilson, I felt I had to! I was nervous about taking my cat to a new vet after recently moving to Jacksonville, but these guys are as good as it gets! Honestly, much better than my last vet (shh!) Dr. Wilson was so gentle and kind to my very scared kitty, and explained everything he was doing along the way. The staff were all amazing, and didn't push for any extra or unnecessary treatments. Can't say enough positive things about this place!

We can't say enough good things about Dr. Wilson, Dr. C and their staff. The doctors and staff truly are compassionate professionals. One of our dogs recently experienced an emergency. We were heartbroken. But Dr. C, Dr. Wilson and their staff went to work and provided amazing and life saving care. The staff answered all our questions during a very stressful time, helping to ease our minds. Thankfully, our sweet boy is fine now because of the outstanding care he received at MRAH. Outstanding staff , Dr Wilson himself a wonderful individual who is passionate about his line of work . The facility is senior pet friendly with textured floors to prevent older pets from slipping and injuring themselves . One of the few vet facilities I have ever seen do this and feel more places should follow their example . The staff is very helpful and take pride in their work . Will do follow up phone calls to make sure everything is going well regardless if it's a simple check up or something serious . Can't praise them enough and would give 10 stars if I could .

This place was great! Luckily my little girl didn't have anything serious but man did they treat us and her so well. The staff was so friendly and the vet was as well. I especially loved that she didn't push unnecessary tests to be done. I was expecting to pay much more and at the end I did but only because I had asked for regular prevention testing and some prevention meds. Will definitely be making this place our go to. She will be needing a few extractions and finally feel I found a vet I'm comfortable with and trust with my little one.

In Jamuary 2016 our elderly Maltese Maggie Mae got sick while visiting my son in Jacksonville. We're from New York. My son's dogs go to Monument. Mike called and Maggie was seen by Dr Wilson that afternoon. Diagnosed her issue and treatment prescribed. Dr Wilson and his staff called to follow up on her several times. Such a caring doctor and amazing staff. Definitely a five star facility. They went above and beyond. Most veterinary hospitals would tell you to go to the local Animal Emergency Hospital if you are from out of town. My son is lucky to have them for his three dogs.

On Wednesday I had to put down my 17 year old cat that I had raised since she was a baby. Her turn for the worse was very sudden and I needed a same day appointment. This Hospital took Minnie and me in that morning and put my sweet girl to rest. I was an absolute mess the entire time and the staff was incredibly comforting. You can tell that Monument Road Animal Clinic truly cares about your pet, from their calming demeanor upon arrival to remembering your pet's quirks and accommodating them. My wife and I used to bring our previous pup here for care and boarding when we lived in the Regency area. After making a move to the beach, we go to another clinic for check ups and medication only as a result of limited time and proximity. If we're heading out of town though, we trust no one but Monument Road to take care of our little guy when we're away.

Having just moved to Jacksonville we were worried about finding a really good vet for our two dogs but we needn't have worried. I did a lot of research and finally decided to try Dr Wilson and I am so glad I did. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in the door. They follow up your visit with a phone call to check if your furbabies are doing okay and if you have any questions you forgot to ask. Dr Wilson is wonderful with the dogs - taking his time and really giving them a thorough checkup. He makes sure to answer all you questions and listens to you carefully. I am very impressed that the charges here are very reasonable and certainly worth it for the service you get. We will be regulars from now on.

Luci was a very healthy, happy mini schnauzer for 9/1/2 yrs; then suddenly seizures began for no apparent reason. Dr. Matthew Wilson, Amanda, Leilani and all the rest of the staff at MRAH have been a blessing. They've known Luci since she was 8 weeks old and I've always felt like they take care of her like she is their own. Luci loves, loves loves going there; she greets the staff when we arrive and happily goes with staff to have the "prodding" tests done (fecal exam, temp, etc). With the excellent care and medical expertise of Dr. Wilson, Luci's seizures are 98% controlled (they are never 100%). I was happy Dr Wilson & MRAH were Luci's healthcare providers before the seizures. Now I'm eternally thankful I chose this facility.

I would like to thank Dr. Wilson and his amazing staff at MRAH. They took such good care of my Pug and also my sister's dog when she had surgery. I have been to many animal hospitals over the years and this place is by far the best. They go out of their way to make sure you and your pets are taken care of and it's easy to see that everyone there genuinely cares about animals. I can honestly say that when I take my pets there they are in the best care possible and I recommend MRAH to everyone I know.

I have continued to go to MRAH where my dog and cat receive outstanding care. The staff is happy to provide an up front estimate for services and will always call to follow up after a visit. The doctor and staff are among the most friendly, compassionate people you'll find to care for your beloved four legged family members. I would recommend them without hesitation.

We trusted them with the care of our 2 small dogs while we were out of town. We had used this vet a couple times for shots and they seemed fine. When we picked them up after our trip they both had bad rashes and when we got them home they seemed sick. It turned out they got Kennel Cough and our Daschund had an injured back. When I called up there a lady treated me as if I was lying. Then she refused to have the doctor call me. I sent emails to the doctor and never heard back. The ONLY thing they would even do was have me pay for a visit to see the doctor and that was the only way I was going to see or talk to the vet. I refused to give them any more money since they had caused this trauma to my pets. They refused to see me without paying, so I sought care from another vet. I am very happy with the new one. Good Riddance to the unprofessionalism and harmful care we recieved from Monument Road Animal Hospital. I am also filing a complaint with the state regulatory board. You have been warned!
