We absolutely love Southside Animal Clinic! Dr Holloway and his team are top notch, and took such amazing care of our very feisty and stubborn German Shepherd, and very old, senior citizen Siberian Husky. Our shepherd had to have an emergency splenectomy back in August, and after scheduling a same day visit, Dr Holloway got her in the same exact day for her life-saving surgery. We couldn't be happier with the service, care, and expertise provided by Southside Animal Clinic. I would recommend them to anybody who asked, even if it meant they had to drive across town. Dr. Holloway and the Southside Animal Clinic staff saved the life of my dear, unique, crazy little kitty. She was literally hours away from death and they took her as a "walk-in", went immediately into emergency mode and over the course of the next week's hospitalization saved her precious life. She was in kidney failure through an infection, could barely walk and had completely stopped eating. Now, a month later she still has some kidney disfunction showing on the tests, but is as vigorous, fun loving and full of herself as ever. She easily jumps up on the kitchen counters looking for her "treats" or a drink from the kitchen faucet. I'm not usually one to leave a review, especially not one so long, but I had to. I had my first appointment with Southside Animal Clinic just recently and I am so happy I switched vets. I felt so taken advantage of at my old vet. I felt better about this vet just upon walking in. My dog had pancreatitis a little over a month ago and I was afraid he had it again. My last vet made it such a tumultuous experience the last time and I was so worried it would be the same. When he started having the same symptoms I decided I needed a new vet. I couldn't be happier with my choice. Dr. Swart fought to get the blood results from my old vet that was just taken the previous month. They claimed they "couldn't find them". She told them I would be expecting a full refund and they suddenly found them. She gave me options and treated me like it was my choice. She didn't push anything on me. I was so relieved I wanted to hug her! It ended up not being pancreatitis and she healed my fur-baby up quick! She didn't do anything unnecessary. This clinic initially sent me reminders of the needed annual checkup and vaccinations. I made the appointment at a convenient time for me; staff were very obliging in making the appointment. Upon my arrival, I was greeted in a friendly manner and asked to have a seat until I was called. This took only a very few minutes, and my wait for the Vet Tech was very short, as was the wait for the Vet to appear. Everything was thoroughly explained to me and both I and my pet were quite happy with the entire visit - even the bill was quite reasonable! We've been taking our dog here for a couple of years now. The vets and staff really seem to care. We also have begun bording our dog, it's less expensive than Pet Paradise and they really treat our dog well. They often text us pictures of our dog so we know she is happy. Read Less

I just realized I never left a review last year when Dr. Holloway treated one of my dogs. I cannot say enough good things about the Doc and his staff. Our regular vet was on extended leave and Hamlet had a wound on his abdomen of unknown origin. We were referred to Dr. Holloway. A series of surgeries, multiple biopsies, 2 weeks of wet bandage changes... It was very stressful. Dr. Holloway had patience beyond measure with me throughout the 2 month long process and Hamlets wound eventually healed and didn't leave as much as a scar. We have always been happy customers (15+ years), but I have to brag on them for helping us yesterday. I found a stray in desperate shape in the late afternoon, called them for help, and without hesitation they told me to bring her right then. They worked me right in, assessed the dog, told me what her treatment options were and gave me an itemized estimate of the costs involved, which I thought were very reasonable. Very honest and genuine vet. They have your pets best interest at heart. They do not do a costly procedure unless necessary and also provide several options as well. Called to make an appointment for my dog who woke up with a horrendous rash covering his entire stomach. When I talked to the receptionist she immediately told me there were no appointments and couldn't see him until 3 days later. At no point did she ask me what was wrong with my dog or why I wanted to come in.Their website states that they take urgent cases without appointments with a longer wait time. i just moved to the Jacksonville area and this is not what should be expected from an animal clinic. This is a great vet office. For 20 years we took all of our animals to the clinic downtown in an attempt to save money. For a couple dollars more we have been going to Dr Tim Holloway. Being a military family we have loved in many places and experienced many different veterinary clinics and Southside animal clinic has been one of the best. They've always been able to get us in quickly when it was necessary and for routine visits they always have appointments available quickly too. They're even open on Saturdays!The facility is always very clean and always seems to be running quickly and efficiently, even though it always seems to be busy I'm always taken back at my appointment time and never have to wait. I've never experienced a more caring and compassionate veterinarian or staff. I ran accross Southside's Yelp page today and saw there were no reviews.  I thought I would provide my experience using them.  My two pets (one dog and one cat) have been patients of Dr. Holloway's for about the last year and a half.   When I moved to Jacksonville I did a lot of research into veterarians in the area.  I am very particular about the care of my pets, and have high standards for the level of care I expect.  My two previous vets in Miami and Colorado were each one of the best clincis in the area. Since first visiting Southside Animal Clinic  I have receieved nothing but the best in terms of the care and treatment of my animals and the service and care to me as an ower.  They are always professional, the office is spotless, and  the staff is all friendly.  I love that they allowme to drop off my pet in the morning and pick them up after work preventing me from having to take vacation time off to visit the vet during the week.  They are also open for half a day on saturday which is really great.  Dr. Holloway is very personable and down to earth.  He  explains everything in detail about what his diagnosis is, and what  all the potential treatment options are.  I also have this thing about wanting a vet that is willing to get down on the floor eye level with my pet. I feel like it shows they are trying to connect with the animal at their level. I am happy to say Dr. Holloway passed that test day one.I will continue to use southside animail clinic for the care of my animals even though I live on the westside, and it is about a 30 minute drive over to their office. There are plenty of vet clinics around my house, but I am willing to drive in order to ensure I get the care I want and my animals need. Read Less
