Dr. Bruce Bierbaum is an amazing veterinarian. I'm not only saying this because he is a part of my family, but because he genuinely loves animals and has a passion for his job. He takes the time to explain things in layman's terms to clients about the diagnosis of each animal during office called visits. He also stops whatever he is doing to answer any questions after hours through our answering service. I took my dog here to be spayed.  They were very nice and helpful. The procedure went very well and my baby is doing just fine. I bought a voucher from the Humane Society and this was the only vet in the area to take the voucher and not charge me extra for the spaying. I opted to pay $25 for pain meds, but that was the only extra charge. I highly recommend Atlantic Animal Clinic. The receptionist was a pleasure to work with. Read Less

Many small animal clinics do not treat pet pigs but they told me that they would so I drove all the way there with a pig who hates the car.  When we arrived my pig was being a little difficult from being carsick and in a strange place but the doctor was sitting behind the desk and made NO EFFORT to help me or make me feel welcome.  Clearly I am a little embarrassed that my pig is misbehaving and am a little stressed by having kept her from getting carsick. The girl at the front desk is trying to help me but clearly doesn't know what to do and can't answer any of my medical questions anyways.  My pig will not move past the front door so I go outside to let her go to the bathroom.  In the whole hour that I was there, the doctor had one appointment with a cat that lasted no more than 20 min.  He never even came outside to talk to me, see what my issue was, or take a quick look at the pig (which is probably all that as needed for the skin issue that we came in with).  I finally got the pig back in my car and walked back in to ask a few questions at least and the doctor had left to go to the store and receptionist didn't know when he would be back.  She even admitted that he was a bit rude to me.  Then gave me a card and told me to call for another appointment.  Ya right... I will not be going anywhere near that place again!  He may be a great vet but I would have not idea because of his manner.  DON'T SAY YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE A PIG IF YOU ARE NOT REALLY WILLING TO PROVIDE THE SAME RESPECT YOU DO TO OTHER ANIMALS AND THEIR OWNERS! Love this place! They have helped me with 9 of my animals through the years! Staff is wonderful! Dr bierbaum is amazing! Very knowledgeable.. Educates you about the animals and possible concerns! Even helped with my chinchilla!! Would definitely recommend to anyone!! Read Less

Dr. Bierbaum is by far one of the best vets I have ever known. My friend of 14 years, a sheltie I had since I was 10 started to slow down about 2 years ago. Bierbaum was informative and honest every step of the way and I trusted him to do what was best for me and my cherished friend. Till the day she died, she was taking a shot in the hips in order to help her mobility, and in her last few months she needed two doses of the $75 per dose shot. I was in my final year of college at the time, and already living dollar to dollar and heartbroken I had to inform him I didn't have that kind of money. I felt like a terrible owner, unable to give my dog full relief. dr. bierbaum, proceeded to give her the two shots to hip and told me not to worry about it. He whispered to the lady at the front and he was off so quick I barely had time to thank him (I fit three in one breath though). My final bill was 50 dollars. A full 25 dollars cheaper then the cost for one shot. His compassion was priceless and I trust no one else to care for my new friend, whom with his help I expect to live a long and happy life.
