Front desk girl, "Rainbow" is very pretentious. Makes you feel like an idiot for asking appropriate questions. Asked her twice, if they gave my dog his booster, which I paid for. She reassured me that they did. Just before I left, a woman came out from the back room stating he did not receive the shot! My husband and I recently moved to the area and had a hard time trying to find a new vet that met our standards, as our precious vet from out of state was amazing. We are SO happy we found Dr. K's! They are always trying to push things on me that my animals don't need here.  I have an epileptic cat and I understand that's not something they normally see here.  It just seems like that are guessing about things like if it is safe to clean his teeth and not checking into it.  If I wasn't so careful and always consulting a neurologist, I would be worried that this practices would harm my cat. Shortly after moving to Stuart/Jupiter area of Florida we began our search for a properly qualified veterinarian to help us with our ailing 11 yr. old yellow lab. Beginning with our very first visit Dr. Brown and the staff at Dr. K's were kind, considerate, attentive and very loving toward "our boy". Though we had some extreme disease issues to deal with I found Dr. Brown's care to be thoughtful and measured. When things progressed she recommended a top notch specialist to guide us. Though we eventually lost the fight I always felt we were in good hands and good hearts with this wonderful staff. We have seen Dr. K many times in the 20 + years we have lived in Jupiter. He saved one of our cats lives that was on her last leg. We believe the cat was poisoned. Dr. K brought her back. He was wonderful and caring, called us with frequent updates and checked on her throughout the many nights she was there., We all couldn't believe it when we brought her home. We were so grateful. He has been there for us in times of serious need for all of our pets, from saving one's life to helping us come to terms with having to deal with the reality of a sick dog who has lived a wonderful life. I have found Dr. K's Animal Hospital reasonably priced and all the staff, especially Rainbow, to be very friendly and efficient. They have always accommodated my old doggie's special needs and given her the extra attention . I found other vets in the area overpriced and not personable at all. We have just recently switched to Dr K's Animal Hospital as our English Bulldog had been suffering from severe allergies here in FL (ear and skin). Within one week, Bubbles was relieved completely. I can't say enough about how wonderful this facility is. Everything about this place is perfect, it's a beautiful building and the vets are both fantastic. I have been a Jupiter resident for 15 yeas but for some reason never came across this vet until a new friend recommended them. I had a scary situation where my dog was attacked during group play at another local vet's boarding facility. I have boarded my dog here for 56 days over the past year and a handful of times for doggy daycare during the day and it is great not to have to worry about how he's doing or if he's safe. I used to call constantly for updates (sorry guys!) but have recently eased off knowing he's in such good hands :). Not to mention they support local schools and have donated items to the school I work for for the fundraising auction every year! Love you Dr. B and Dr. K! I usually don't comment on other reviews but who expects a vet to make their dog suffer with an ear infection while they are being boarded?! Ew and ouch. Poor puppy. Read Less

Dr K's animal hospital is one of the best veterinarians and best animal hospitals I've been to. Not only because the staff is great and caring, but the facility is always so clean as well. Of course the best part is that the veterinarians are all so kind, empathetic, extremely knowledgable and take the time with their patients and their patients parents (us). From Dr K and all the other doctors there that we met with were great. But our main Vet that cared for our cat the most was Dr Brown. I was referred to Dr Brown through a friend and I'm so thankful they referred us to her!!! They said that she truly cared about her patients and they were so right!! Our cat Kilo was born with an extremely rare heart condition in which specialists said he wouldn't live past 4-6 months. (He had a hole in his heart) He was also diagnosed with Lymphoma at the age of 15 months which is also pretty rare for a cat his age. So needless to say, we visited their hospital a lot. They knew exactly how to handle all of us with care, were so patient and when they needed to refer us to a specialist to further diagnose the rare illness, they did. Unfortunately, we just had to put sweet Kilo to sleep today and Dr Brown and her staff were the sweetest ever and so patient with us even though we arrived right at the end of their day. We have taken our two dogs to Dr. Brown who is one of the Vets at Dr. K Animal hospital for about two years. We think the world of Dr. Brown. She is caring, very bright, and takes a lot of time to explain things. We had friends refer us to her after a terrible experience with Chasewood Animal Hospital. Our little chihuahua was on death's door and needed a lot of attention. This Vet puts your dog's health above her own financial interest. Dr. Brown always called to make sure our pup was doing ok and reassure us. I am convinced my little chihuahua crashed as a result of a bad vet's decision to give her 3 year's worth of vaccines in one dose which she may have deemed acceptable but it overloaded my 4 lb dog to the point that it cost me $4,000 to a third party pet emergency in WPB to save her life. Dr. Brown was so sympathetic and caring and carefully oversaw our dog's recovery, which involved carefully evaluating her meds.  I owe my dog's life to this vet and cannot thank her enough. In addition, she cleaned my older dog's teeth and knowing we had a lot of financial hardships this year gave us the tip that the following month the clinic was offering a discount for teeth cleaning. Our dog did well with the anesthesia and now has white teeth and fresh breath!The assistants and front desk staff at Dr. K's are friendly and the wait time is minimal. Dr. K's Animal Hospital is an excellent facility. They have always provided the best care for my 3 dogs and I attribute their excellent care to the fact that my Sassy is now 18 years old and will hopefully live quite a few more years. We are in twice a month for laser therapy. I have had many major procedures done on 2 of my dogs and the estimates have been reasonable and always within dollars of the final payment amount. Dr. K's Animal Hospital provides the care THEY feel is appropriate for your animal regardless of if you are in agreement. We are loving caring parents of a 7 year old basset hound, we have been receiving care from Dr. K's for approx 1 year with a total spent around $1000.00 for general care. We are always on board with doing what is best for our dog. We recently boarded him for 5 days while taking a business trip, we were quoted a specific amount to update his shots and we added a nail trim for $10; we were told this price plus boarding would be our total. We confirmed pricing prior to drop off. They contacted us day 1 to inform us "Dr. K went ahead and completed his annual exam and would like the go ahead to treat his ear infection". We informed the staff we were not told he would be getting an annual exam (as it was not time for it/or needed), we also informed the staff we felt we should not pay for the exam since they did not ask prior to completing & we keep the prescription drops for his ears at home and treat regularly (as ear infections are common in the breed), we let them know we would treat him on pick up once home. We were told this was okay and that we would see them on pickup. All is well right?! No. On pick up my husband was told they charged us $50 for the annual exam and treated the ear infection, they also informed my husband they separated our dog into isolation due to "contamination" re to his ear infection. Dr. K himself began an argument with my husband in the lobby refusing to remove the charge and repeating that the dog contaminated the entire clinic and caused a problem due to infection, my husband felt if the dog had something so severe (which an ear infection is not) that the dog should not be present in a space with other dogs they should have informed us we could not board him. It is HORRIBLE business for Dr. K to treat your dog when you told him not to, then charge you for that treatment, then yell at you as if you are an owner who is not caring. They were rude and charged us for the annual exam and ear infection. We WILL NOT RETURN. We hope that others will take the time to find a different vet that respects the views of the owner and does not charge the patient for things without discussing it first.Read Less

Dr. K turned my old achey dog into a puppy again! Nelly is ten years old and has a bad case of arthritis. My once active dog turned into a lethargic couch potato, he gained some weight from the loss of activity which made his arthritis even worse. I tried all the drugs, some made him sick and others just didn't work. My friend Marcia told me about a laser therapy program offered at Dr. K's and I was super skeptical. Laser therapy sounds like something out of a Star Wars flick.. But it was inexpensive enough (compared to the drug regimen y old vet had Nelly on) so I decided to give it a shot. The first treatment took 40 minutes (Nelly needed an exam as well) from the time Nelly went in to when I picked her up. I dropped him off- ran down to the corner deli for a quick sandwich and when I got back he was done. Every subsequent treatment only took 15 minutes. Did I mention I carried Nelly in but he WALKED back out? It honestly brought tears to my eyes. Now 6 treatments later Nelly is swimming again, taking walks with me again and has dropped some of the weight he put on from being immobile. Thanks Dr. K! Read Less

We've been using Dr K since 1996 (*/-), and they were very good to us when our family was displaced from Hurricane Season 2004 (Frances & Jeanne). We were displaced for 13 months; Dr K allowed us to visit without any appt and gave us a room for as long as we wished so that my children and I could visit our dog and cat. When it was time to put them both to sleep due to old age, we invited them to be in the room with us. They were touched, because our pets had become theirs during the time they stayed in the kennel. We continue to bring our next generation of pets and they continue to welcome us with great fondness from all staff members including the technicians in the back. Read Less

I knew Dr. K back when he was at the humane society, we adopted our kitties from there and used to see Dr. K for care. But then we moved out of state for 10 years. We just moved back in April & I was delighted to find that Dr. K had his own practice! We had our first visit today and i was so excited that he remembered us and my 2 angel-cats that I adopted in 1993!!!
