We called Dr. Sinko on Christmas evening to tell him our our 15 year old Tibetan Terrier, Chloe seemed sick and very uncomfortable. Dr. Sinko instructed us to meet him at his office upon discussing Chloe's symptoms. Dr. Sinko is one of the most compassionate and dedicated veterinary doctors we have ever encountered. He was totally focused on Chloe's well being. Dr. Sinko could have easily sent us to the emergency veterinary clinic but he chose to set aside his family Christmas celebrations to come and care for our dog. The entire staff at North County Animal Hospital strives to provide the same caring service for clients and patients. If you are in search of an outstanding Veterinary Clinic for your pet, visit Dr. Sinko and North County Animal Hospital. We can't thank Dr. Sinko and his entire staff enough for the care they have provided to our family! Read Less

Dr. Sinko and his team have been the most amazing and helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I have 8 dogs, every single one of them I take to him. Living on 5 acres out in Palm city we've come into problems such as snakes, raccoons, as well as plain things like barbed wire fences. Dr. Sinko has treated every one of my dogs whether it be a couple stitches from putting their noses where they shouldn't be, to pulling a muscle from running after another pesky animal. I have never had a vet take some much time to not only help my fur babies, but also educate me on what I can do on my own at home to save me a trip out to his office. Dr. Sinko's staff as well has been nothing short of extraordinary! The love they show all of my dogs when we walk through the door is unlike any vet I've been to. They take pride in knowing they help my critters feel better and that they make taking your pets to the vet a little easier ! Read Less

Let me start by saying Dr. Sinko isn't my primary vet and he knows it, as I work in Jupiter but live in another town. My dog hurt himself the night before and I was so worried it was a back issue and he'd need a neurological consultation. This is the love of my life, best dog ever. He seemed to improve but I was afraid to leave him home alone to reinjure potentially. I'd already received phone information from my regular vet but a second opinion never hurts. Dr. Sinko kept him all day so they could observe him and examined him and reassured me. The staff ate lunch with him and sent me updates throughout the day, which allowed me to do my job without so much worry on my mind. They treat me like I've been a regular client for years and I feel so confident in their abilities. Not too mention they have updated their office beautifully and the staff certainly show my dog love and compassion without fail. If I lived in Jupiter I would always come to this hospital to be treated like family. Read Less

It has taken me 4 months to get past my anger to be able to write a review.   The conclusion to my story is that my dog died.   The end result may have been the same as she was an 11 year old large breed dog. However,  I feel that they handled her final weeks poorly and her final day was a nightmare that I don't wish on anyone.    For years I used Harmony Animal.   In the past year they added several new vets.   Her last two visits at Harmony were with new vets.   I was so displeased that as I sat in their exam room waiting for them to return with an x-ray appointment and an antibiotic ointment for her foot  I called North County to make an appointment.     I have a friend that uses Dr. Sinko and had raved about him.   They told me to come over immediately which was awesome.    Dr. Sinko was great, he got down on the floor and checked her out thoroughly.   The ointment would never have worked, she was very hairy and it would not have reached the skin.   He prescribed an oral antibiotic and the sore on her foot went away.    He said we could hold off on x-rays and see if all of the other medications helped (she was on Rimadyl and Tramadol) with her limp.   Through the years she'd had lung issues.    That problem flared about 6 weeks later and I took her in.   I asked if we were approaching end of life (her litter mate had passed last year), he said he did not think so and we just needed to treat the flare.     Two weeks later she was not doing better so I returned and he did more intensive testing.   It showed her trachea was collapsing which apparently is very common in dogs.   I went to the compounding pharmacy and got her medication to control the cough.   She was on antibiotics, Rimadyl and pain medication.  This went on for about a week and there was no improvement.   I remained in contact with the office. The day before her passing I called and said that she was not getting better, in fact I thought she was getting worse.   In the early morning on the day she passed, it was a Thursday, she went into distress with rapid breathing and gagging.   I went to the office at 8:00 when they opened.   Dr. Sinko was off but Robin texted him.   He said to increase the pain medicine.  I did that and there was no change.   I called a few hours later and Robin said he would be in that afternoon for another pet that was having an emergency and he would call me.   She spoke with him and called me back and advised to increase the pain medicine again.   I called 3 or 4 times that morning.  I asked if I should go to the emergency clinic because she was in distress and it was horrible.   Robin called him again and he said he did not think it was that time yet and we just needed to get her through this flare.   She said he would call me when he reached the office for the other emergency animal issue.    I called Robin for the last time at noon and told her that he did not need to call me as Cinnamon had passed away, her gasps had subsided and she just died.      Robin was surprised.   Clearly my presence at the door when they opened, and my repeated calls, and telling her that my dog was in DISTRESS did not convey the urgency of the situation.    Did she fail me, or did Dr. Sinko?   Who was actually pushing me off?    I will never know.   Robin lives in my neighborhood and I see her walking her dog often, a pang of anger pops out.    I saw Dr. Sinko's car the other day and got angry.   I guess I am not over it.    Clearly it was meant to be the end of her life.   I would have preferred to let her go to sleep peacefully rather than the path that she took.    Blame, who knows.   She was an awesome dog, and now she is not. My dog began acting "oddly" for several months last year. Dr Gerard had been my vet for the 6 years of her life and I felt he knew and respected both my little Morkie and me. I had him examine her several times and he could find nothing wrong. He wanted to do an anesetic dental cleaning around this period, instead of the regular non-anesthetic one, but I was worried about using anesthesia because of the way she was acting. He asked me if perhaps "I was making my dog sick because I was nervous about the surgery"! ..... me?? This was a terribly condescending and hurtful comment! I knew my dog was ill. I left the practice. I found out several months later that she had a brain tumor and had to be euthanized. Perhaps, had he actually listened to me, since I am the one that knew her best, I would not have lost my darling little girl or she could have had a chance for treatment before it was too late?I do not recommend this unprofessional and arrogant vet! Run away from this quack. He killed my healthiest little Yorkie in 4 minutes of incorrect anesthesia in 2011 to do a dental (Teeth cleaning). I have the labs' results, both toxicology and pathology; in the toxicology tests they found the presence of an obsolete substance in her tissues, which he did not put in his procedure report. And I suspect he also killed another Yorkie of mine 3 months prior when he tried to tap her lungs that had fluids. He called me in the surgery room and she was already lifeless recommending we put her to sleep as she wouldn't make it.  We will never get over the pain he caused us and I will forever feel guilty for having taking them to him! Plus, I had adopted a little Maltese girl after the death of the first Yorkie in January and I took her to him and he didn't even know she was in heat! Read Less

I was very impressed with this office. Robin on the front desk is patient, smart, organized, and loves animals. She thinks of everything, giving detailed directions and then, when we arrived in the office, made sure my dog was comfortable - even putting us in a room with the best view so that my anxious dog could look outside. She is chatty without neglecting her work. Dr. Sinko arrived after my appointment time (since they had squeezed me in on a Sat AM when I thought my dog had a UTI) and - to my surprised - didn't dole out the meds 'just because' but told me honestly that he didn't think my dog had an infection. He instructed me to get a wash from the pharmacy for about $9 and use that for a few days. Dr. Sinko was right, and he proved his honesty once more when he did a teeth cleaning on my dog, and didn't drag it out, or pull teeth just to make a buck. He seems like a very genuine, caring vet, with lots of experience and wisdom. Our pup was very comfortable here and I won't go anywhere else now. Robin also gave me the number of a dog sitter since we are new to the area and I watched her deal with a sultry customer - who was complaining about his bill - with the greatest tact and aplomb. Most amazing place I've ever been! My dog has chf and another local was fast to say "we will put him down", so we went to north county animal to get a second opinion they said lets run some tests and see what we can do to make him more comfortable for the time being. Its the best thing my wife and i did. He is doing so much better and i owe that in part to the caring staff at NCAH. They truely care about the pet and the owner! Thank you guys;) Read Less

Read Less

Cristy and I have been bringing Charley here for years. Dr. Sinko is the best. He goes the extra mile and you can see he really cares about Charley's health. You can always get him. Over the weekend he was 5 miles offshore but still responded to urgent questions. And, he is great physician too. My final point is he has great staff...first his wife...and also Robin. We have seen many people in her position and he is so good. She loves Charley too.Read Less
