We have been bringing our cat here for a couple years. No problems except an overcharge and we had to wait for the credit to be applied on his next visit. They would not refund us on our overcharge. They probably think if we do not come back they get to keep the credit that is owed to us.  We thought we would give Lake Emma a try on our dogs.  Came in on Monday, Feb. 5th. Dr. C told me he has a heart murmur and showed me how to check it.  I asked Dr. C if I can use her pen to write down the information.  Dr, C said NO. She said they will write all of this information on your receipt.  Dr. C. just wanted to leave the exam room as fast as possible and get to the next customer.  When I got home I read my receipt and NO information about the heart murmur was listed.  In addition when we made our appointment we were quoted $120.  When I showed up, the Vet tech for the exact services that we were quoted $120, said it would be $140.  After another 20 minutes of waiting, they finally agreed to the price quoted on the phone of $120.  Why is it when mistakes are made, they are rarely in the customer's favor?   We are on the fence if we will be bringing any of our 2 dogs or cat back. Honestly not my favorite place to take my dogs, I'm thinking about changing vets. One of my dogs was pooping out straight blood and when I went to them they didn't really give me an answer as to why it was happening, they just gave me meds and told me it should work. I have another puppy and he's been limping and I took him in and they didn't even bother watching him walk to see the limp, they checked his leg said nothing was wrong and gave me an anti inflammatory, and told me if it doesn't work he'll need xrays. It just bothers me that they didn't even bother watching him walk to understand how and where he was limping. They just seem to care about giving meds and not explaining what's wrong with the animals. Read Less

It truly pains me to write this review because I have used Dr Dee and LEAH for about 28 years. I started with them when they were in the Lake Mary Plaza next to KMart and stayed with them through the move to Primera at their current location.  I have reached out before about their poor customer service and lack of experience and common sense at the front desk but no one cared enough to contact me at that time.  Tonight I got home at 5p to discover that my 12 yr old mixed breed dog had some kind of accident and cannot hold weight in her hind end.  She's stressed and panting and her right back leg is twisted.  I immediately called LEAH and after 5 minutes on hold was told that neither of the two vets in the office could see me.  They said if I really thought it was an emergency I should take her to the emergency vet or make an appointment for tomorrow.  They were still going to be open til 6:30 but refused to fit us in.   29 years of loyal business means nothing. I've been annoyed by their actions before but now I am angry and also devastated.  And by the way, I have taken care of animals my whole life and am not an alarmist.  When I call and say it's an emergency, it is.  And in my dog's 12 years of life, this is only the 2nd time I've actually called and asked to be worked in.Will never go through that door again except to pick up our records. I have to go multiple times a week for subcutaneous fluids for my cat. I deal mostly with the vet techs. They are all awesome! Very caring, patient, personable and professional. I've never LOVED the vets here (they're fine, just don't get the warm fuzzies from them) but the vet techs and front desk employees make up for it. They usually greet with a smile and warmth. I chose this office because of all the great review it had. Well i was not disappointed. The reception staff was so super friendly and so receptive of my bunny and loved that a bunny was coming as they don't see them often. The vet was very knowledgeable and handled my bunny very gently. she gained his trust pretty quickly and he was pretty calm throughout the visit. I have made appointments for my ratties and will also be bringing my cats there as well when needed. This is a great office and the staff is so friendly. Read Less

Amazing experience both times we went to Lake Emma! Romeo was well taken care of when he was not feeling well and we also came back for his regular shots. The staff is amazing, very welcoming and the place is just an awesome atmosphere all around. We had several questions about the flea/tick/heartworm combo pills and they were very open and honest about everything even if it did cost them some money. Would recommend to anyone with a pet! We had been looking for a new vet. The office welcomed us . We had a really awful visit to another vet, and one of our dogs needed an appointment right away. We called and the staff got us in. They have a special way of calming puppies by not separating them from the owner if the stress would be too much. They are super clean . They followed up the next day with a call to check up on how my baby was. They offer on line communication and files. I feel comfortable with the care. With humans they can tell you what's wrong, our puppies can't do that. We need caring professional people like this clinic. Read Less

I had an appointment at 10:30 am this morning and was stuck on i4 traffic for 20 minutes. It was 10:19 am and I called Lake Emma to let them know that I might be around 15 min late due to the congestion. I was told that I needed to reschedule due to a policy of being 15 min late. The girl was rude and short with her explanation as to why they only schedule 15 min per patient. I turned around and took my dog to Sanlando and they took her in with no issues and while there, (at 10:34 am) I get a call from Lake Emma telling me that I can go in. I've had issues with the customer service before but overlooked out of convenience but no more. I asked them to transfer the records and will not be dealing with them any longer. Read Less

Had to take my kitty Psychopants in to have her looked at because I was concerned that a tumor had returned. She wasn't registered there, and they were booked (Saturday), but they decided to look at her anyway because of my concerns. Dr Crainick, was very pleasant, and gave me her honest opinions about my options. This Vet is so caring so compassionate. This was not my Vet for my Geoffrey my Dalmatian. On Sat Dec 11,2016. My Geoffrey was dying my Vet didnt have enough room in cooler to hold for His journey to the Rainbow Bridge My daughter takes her own girls there to Lake Emma. She call an explained the situation. Jennifer Mgr call Dr Dee an he said we will take Geoffrey. They were all so kind compassionate at this sad time. They treated my Geoffrey like a king. They calm him with a IV set up in leg one shot for anxiety. One shot like he was going into surgery. Then in this nice room set up for Geoffrey final journey .Dr Dee cared for him so gentle. I have been using Lake Emma Hospital for about 9 years now and it has always been the best one for me . I have had 3 dogs in their care now. My first one Kiwi was a favourite there and all the staff were very sad and compassionate when she died. I now have Rosie and Stitch who are well known and love Dr Gorberg who has always given them the best care and will telephone herself to speak to you about them. I only wish I could find a medical doctor like her !!!! I have also seen Dr Dee and he was very good too. I would recommend them to anyone !!! Read Less

We first visited the clinic after our dog was suffering from what we thought were worsening seizures. The vet we regularly attended, told us that our best option was to put her down to end her suffering. That vet did not perform a single test to reach that conclusion. As we stood in our driveway minutes before we were heading to put her down, she had a glorious few minutes and "snapped out of it". We just couldn't do it. We decided to get a second opinion. The amazing team at Lake Emma ran some tests and eliminated all the "really bad stuff" and determined that she had a pinched nerve in her neck. Literally within hours of being on pain medication, our dog was back to her old self. There are no words to explain how much we all cried with joy. This happened two years ago just days before Christmas and she is still going strong at 10 years old. We are forever grateful for the team at Lake Emma for our Christmas miracle. We continue to take both of our dogs there, (they were there yesterday for a nail trim!), and we highly recommend them.Read Less

I have used the Lake Emma Animal Hospital for about 3 and one-half years. I have always found them to be quite knowledgable, compassionate, and reasonably priced. They always call me a day or two after each visit with my fur baby to check on him or her. When I had to "let go" of my old dog because of heart disease, they could not have been more kind and helpful with all the arrangements. Generally, I used only one specific Doctor, but when I have used the other vets they were all as wonderful. I lived in Lake Mary when I chose them for my vet, but now I live on the very far side of Oviedo and I still take my new dog. I can't say enough good about them. Kay Read Less

I have to tell you, I have not been to Lake Emma Animal Hospital in years because we moved to Texas. But when 'interviewing' my new vets, I always use Dr. Dee as my point of reference for a good Vet and this front office staff as how a vets office should be run! I loved that they put up with me and my crazy dog and cat family... helped me with my rescue dogs.. and gave me that kind, 'its alright, you're not crazy look' when I ran in with my dog because she was foaming at the mouth after eating a stick bug.. We have been taking our Westie there since she was a puppy. The staff is phenomenal and truly care. Her primary Doctor is Dr. Groberg but she has also been treated by Dr. McPhail and both are fabulous! Dr. Groberg is very thorough and made us feel very comfortable when were first time dog owners. We have also boarded her there for a half day. I have no complaints! I wish she could have continued to be treated here but we moved to another state.Read Less

When you walk through the door you can feel the compassion this practice has for your pet. Dr. John Dee and his team knows their stuff. There are several Vets on staff that specialize and have done internships with hospitals that focus on dogs, cats and who knows what else. The vet techs also have had great training and handle your family pet with great care. Check-in and out is smooth with knowledgeable front desk associates and a true flow to the office that ergonomically works well. Their vets call you personally and promptly with test results making it unnecessary for you to make repeated calls unlike other vet services I have tried. They can even do some bloodwork there eliminating the need for lengthy waiting for test results. When you need to know, they are there to deliver the most comprehensive, accurate answers in the briefest amount of time. I can't say they are the cheapest, but the care received is well worth the money spent and It is not out of bounds for excellent care. As you can tell I would highly recommend this practice.
