If I could give 10 stars I would.
We love Dr. Winter and her entire staff. I hate to name names because someone is always left out but two come to mind immediately. Emily and Kerry. They are the kindest, most compassionate and caring ladies ever. Along with Dr. winter it makes visiting the vet a wonderful experience. They know and treat our two babies as if they were their own and it's a real love that's shown and not just a professional courtesy. You can tell their passion for what they all do and it shows in the way the animals respond to all of them. I have and will continue to recommend them to everyone, only regretting that they are so loved now, it's hard to get an appointment for boarding 😜.
(Actually, always my procrastination) We are getting to know Shelby and Brittany as part of the vet family who have always been kind as well, and look forward to meeting others In the near future I'm sure.
Calling them will be the best choice you could make for your fur-babies.

Just had my dog groomed. The groomer did a fabulous job. My dog was relaxed and happy when we picked her up. The ladies at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. We highly recommend!!!

If you are having a medical emergency for your pet and this is the closest place I would recommend this place. These people care about the well-being of your pet. Most vets who hear of a bad condition offer to put down pet and throw in the towel but not here. They listen and care about your pet and are honest with pet owners. This place is bit more pricey then most but its worth every penny. To this place much love and respect.

Dr. Winter and her staff are absolutely wonderful. She is and has always been my Vet of choice. She has been wonderful with all my animals and her compassion is amazing. I drive almost 2 hours to see her.
My female Siamese was compacted and two other vets wanted to rush her into surgery. I went to Dr. Winter because she will be the only vet that I would ever allow to preform any major procedure on any of my animals. Dr. Winter and her staff were able to get her to clear her compaction with no surgery needed!!! What a micacle!
I will and forever will recommend her to anyone. She gets 100/5 stars from me and my fur family!!!

Three stars are for the excellent techs that helped me during my first visit and the environment. I had recently moved to Lakeland and needed to find a vet for my 1.5 year old Goldendoodle. The Wednesday doctor was a little passive aggressive with some remarks toward the type of dog I had, and she man-handled her in a way that seemed a tad inappropriate. I understand having to hold dogs still for shots and all—however this was as soon as she walked into the office. My dog was excited. It was her first time there, she loves people, and she is very hyperactive which is common for her breed. It seemed the doctor was not thrilled working with that kind of dog and never acknowledged her or anything--just immediately put her hand to her face to keep her away. I’ve since found a wonderful veterinarian elsewhere and wouldn’t recommend this one to others—at least not on Wednesdays.

I LOVE Dr. Winter and her staff. My golden loves coming here. He's 7 months now and I would only & forever trust them with him. They treat him like their baby and its awesome to know I can fully trust them. I have left him at their Daycare and he has a blast! Everything about this place is worth every penny. Their candles are also amazing. Thank you so much for your passion and commitment to our boy's well being :)

I LOVED the location, the cleanliness, the front staff, and the nurse. They were awesome! BUT, the Wednesday doctor was not a good fit. She was hesitant with the information she was giving me and most of the time she was talking about all of the horrendous illnesses that golden retrievers get. I let her review the certifications that I got from my puppy's breeder and she didn't take the time to review them and assumed they were unclear. I had to literally point out that they were from my puppy's parents. I went home upset that the vet would talk to me about cancer, bad joints, hip displacia as if my puppy was doomed. I will never go to this place when she's there. But I will go back to see the other doctor that everyone talks about and I will update my review.

We were in town from Indiana and my 10 year old mini yorkie developed a pyometra all of a sudden. Not knowing any of the vets around here we took a chance with this place and we were pleasantly surprised. They are amazing here. Dr Winters was the best and her staff is so kind and amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone. Dr Winters told us where we needed to go for the best surgery and recovery and we had top notch care all the way.

I tried a few other vets when I first moved to the area, with nightmarish results. I'm so thankful to have found LVH. The staff could not be more caring, helpful or responsive. Dr. Winter is phenomenal. The facility is beautiful - and comfortable, which helps ease the stress of the visit for both me and my dogs. And their rates are more than fair. Fantastic veterinary operation, in every respect.

Our dog had an issue with her eyes a few weeks back. This vet was able to work us into their appointments due to the potential severity of the issue. They were very polite and professional and gave our dog the hook-up on treats while they examined her. I believe our dog would be open to going here every time which really tells me that this place did well. The visit was very reasonably priced too considering we've taken her to other hospitals in the past and paid hundreds.

Dr. Winter is not our "regular" vet, we use her for a specialized service not readily available at most veterinary clinics.. We were in animal rescue and currently have 7 dogs and 5 cats; we live about an hour away from Dr. Winter's clinic and have a "regular" vet nearby our home. However, we bring our senior Golden Retriever here every 2 weeks for specialized acupuncture treatment of her arthritis and it has worked wonders. Dr. Winter is a highly knowledgeable vet who is not blind to alternative treatments. If we ever have to change vets our selection of a new "regular" vet will be easy, we'd be bringing all of our charges to Dr. Winter for her outstanding care and compassion and probably grab lunch along the way..

We feel very fortunate to have Dr. Dawn Winters care for our pets. Her knowledge, expertise and compassionate make her the ideal choice when choosing a veterinarian. I highly recommend her hospital. She diagnosed our cat with urethral stones and did surgery to remove the stones July 11, 2016. He did great and has had no complications. The staff is compassionate and friendly. Dr. Winters has also cared for our other pets and we have always been extremely pleased.

I have tried countless vets in the Lakeland/Bartow/Winter Haven area to help my dog with his severe skin allergies. I always felt like they were looking at a quick fix (2 weeks of antibiotics/steroids), but never really tried to get to the root of the problem. Dr. Winters thoroughly explains everything and spends time with the patient - she has me hooked forever. Her vet tech Tracy is amazing too and helped me find cheaper medication for my poor dog. Love this practice!

I had an emergency with my 7 month old pit bull and needed a vet asap. I had never been here and was uneasy about taking my baby to a new place. Plus worried about the costs I was going to have to incur. Let me just say they were AMAZING and very affordable!! They helped me carry my dog inside and I was seen immediately by Dr. Winter (less than 5 min). After his diagnosis they were very informative and answered all questions, including the frantic calls the next day from me because I was so paranoid. I will definitely be bringing all my animals here from now on.

Friendly professional but wiil talk every day happenings with you. I found a most pitiful chihuahua that was full of fleas mites .she was so little to have been on the streets alone,however it took 3 months but Dr Winter had Taffi looking great. I highly recommend this place to me they are the whole package of what a fussy pet owner like me wants. Hello guys! I miss everyone there.

I took my very ill cat in one day who hadn't been eating. The staff was very friendly and accommodating initially. They ran a bunch of expensive tests on her with no resolution as to what was actually wrong with her. Just a bunch of "well we know what's not wrong with her". But they still did not know what WAS wrong. They sent her home still very ill but slightly medicated with a temporary "band aid" fix, with instructions to call back with a "wait and see" attitude. I observed her for about 16 hours and called back to speak to the dr about further treatment options as my cat was now a day more starved and no improvement and was told that no one who saw her was working that day. The Dr. Who saw my cat did not tell me she would not be working the next day and wouldn't even be there if I called back. I was told by the receptionist they could not advise me of anything because they hadn't seen the cat and to bring her in again (and pay for yet another visit) to see the doctor that was working on THAT day. Do they not keep notes and records about their patients? I was frustrated they were basically starting me over. I would not reccomend this place as they have no continuity of care and did not seem nearly as concerned as I that my cat was slowly starving to death. I've now taken my business to a different clinic that didn't just shuffle my pet out the door with no intent to follow up or follow through.

I seriously love this vet! Dawn and staff are amazing. I drive 1 hr and 15 min to her just because I like them so much. She preformed acupuncture on my little girl a few times and it worked wonders! This time she effectively detected her issue at hand and sent us on our way and I never walk out paying a lot. Her acupuncture visits were only $45 each and today her visit, 2 meds, aspiration and Uti test were only $147. Can't recommend them enough!

This practice is now owned and operated by Dr. Dawn Winter. She and her staff are some of the most compassionate, talented and professional people I have had the honor of seeking veterinary care from. Her prices are very reasonable and the quality of care is outstanding. I am willing to drive 50 min. to receive the care my dog and cat "kids" deserve. You can't go wrong with this gem of Polk county!

My female Siamese was compacted and two other vets wanted to rush her into surgery. I went to Dr. Winter because she will be the only vet that I would ever allow to preform any major procedure on any of my animals. Dr. Winter and her staff were able to get her to clear her compaction with no surgery needed!!! What a micacle!
I will and forever will recommend her to anyone. She gets 100/5 stars from me and my fur family!!!

Three stars are for the excellent techs that helped me during my first visit and the environment. I had recently moved to Lakeland and needed to find a vet for my 1.5 year old Goldendoodle. The Wednesday doctor was a little passive aggressive with some remarks toward the type of dog I had, and she man-handled her in a way that seemed a tad inappropriate. I understand having to hold dogs still for shots and all—however this was as soon as she walked into the office. My dog was excited. It was her first time there, she loves people, and she is very hyperactive which is common for her breed. It seemed the doctor was not thrilled working with that kind of dog and never acknowledged her or anything--just immediately put her hand to her face to keep her away. I’ve since found a wonderful veterinarian elsewhere and wouldn’t recommend this one to others—at least not on Wednesdays.

I LOVE Dr. Winter and her staff. My golden loves coming here. He's 7 months now and I would only & forever trust them with him. They treat him like their baby and its awesome to know I can fully trust them. I have left him at their Daycare and he has a blast! Everything about this place is worth every penny. Their candles are also amazing. Thank you so much for your passion and commitment to our boy's well being :)

I LOVED the location, the cleanliness, the front staff, and the nurse. They were awesome! BUT, the Wednesday doctor was not a good fit. She was hesitant with the information she was giving me and most of the time she was talking about all of the horrendous illnesses that golden retrievers get. I let her review the certifications that I got from my puppy's breeder and she didn't take the time to review them and assumed they were unclear. I had to literally point out that they were from my puppy's parents. I went home upset that the vet would talk to me about cancer, bad joints, hip displacia as if my puppy was doomed. I will never go to this place when she's there. But I will go back to see the other doctor that everyone talks about and I will update my review.

We were in town from Indiana and my 10 year old mini yorkie developed a pyometra all of a sudden. Not knowing any of the vets around here we took a chance with this place and we were pleasantly surprised. They are amazing here. Dr Winters was the best and her staff is so kind and amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone. Dr Winters told us where we needed to go for the best surgery and recovery and we had top notch care all the way.

I tried a few other vets when I first moved to the area, with nightmarish results. I'm so thankful to have found LVH. The staff could not be more caring, helpful or responsive. Dr. Winter is phenomenal. The facility is beautiful - and comfortable, which helps ease the stress of the visit for both me and my dogs. And their rates are more than fair. Fantastic veterinary operation, in every respect.

Our dog had an issue with her eyes a few weeks back. This vet was able to work us into their appointments due to the potential severity of the issue. They were very polite and professional and gave our dog the hook-up on treats while they examined her. I believe our dog would be open to going here every time which really tells me that this place did well. The visit was very reasonably priced too considering we've taken her to other hospitals in the past and paid hundreds.

Dr. Winter is not our "regular" vet, we use her for a specialized service not readily available at most veterinary clinics.. We were in animal rescue and currently have 7 dogs and 5 cats; we live about an hour away from Dr. Winter's clinic and have a "regular" vet nearby our home. However, we bring our senior Golden Retriever here every 2 weeks for specialized acupuncture treatment of her arthritis and it has worked wonders. Dr. Winter is a highly knowledgeable vet who is not blind to alternative treatments. If we ever have to change vets our selection of a new "regular" vet will be easy, we'd be bringing all of our charges to Dr. Winter for her outstanding care and compassion and probably grab lunch along the way..

We feel very fortunate to have Dr. Dawn Winters care for our pets. Her knowledge, expertise and compassionate make her the ideal choice when choosing a veterinarian. I highly recommend her hospital. She diagnosed our cat with urethral stones and did surgery to remove the stones July 11, 2016. He did great and has had no complications. The staff is compassionate and friendly. Dr. Winters has also cared for our other pets and we have always been extremely pleased.

I have tried countless vets in the Lakeland/Bartow/Winter Haven area to help my dog with his severe skin allergies. I always felt like they were looking at a quick fix (2 weeks of antibiotics/steroids), but never really tried to get to the root of the problem. Dr. Winters thoroughly explains everything and spends time with the patient - she has me hooked forever. Her vet tech Tracy is amazing too and helped me find cheaper medication for my poor dog. Love this practice!

I had an emergency with my 7 month old pit bull and needed a vet asap. I had never been here and was uneasy about taking my baby to a new place. Plus worried about the costs I was going to have to incur. Let me just say they were AMAZING and very affordable!! They helped me carry my dog inside and I was seen immediately by Dr. Winter (less than 5 min). After his diagnosis they were very informative and answered all questions, including the frantic calls the next day from me because I was so paranoid. I will definitely be bringing all my animals here from now on.

I found a most pitiful chihuahua that was full of fleas mites .she was so little to have been on the streets alone,however it took 3 months but Dr Winter had Taffi looking great. I highly recommend this place to me they are the whole package of what a fussy pet owner like me wants. Hello guys! I miss everyone there.

I took my very ill cat in one day who hadn't been eating. The staff was very friendly and accommodating initially. They ran a bunch of expensive tests on her with no resolution as to what was actually wrong with her. Just a bunch of "well we know what's not wrong with her". But they still did not know what WAS wrong. They sent her home still very ill but slightly medicated with a temporary "band aid" fix, with instructions to call back with a "wait and see" attitude. I observed her for about 16 hours and called back to speak to the dr about further treatment options as my cat was now a day more starved and no improvement and was told that no one who saw her was working that day. The Dr. Who saw my cat did not tell me she would not be working the next day and wouldn't even be there if I called back. I was told by the receptionist they could not advise me of anything because they hadn't seen the cat and to bring her in again (and pay for yet another visit) to see the doctor that was working on THAT day. Do they not keep notes and records about their patients? I was frustrated they were basically starting me over. I would not reccomend this place as they have no continuity of care and did not seem nearly as concerned as I that my cat was slowly starving to death. I've now taken my business to a different clinic that didn't just shuffle my pet out the door with no intent to follow up or follow through.

I seriously love this vet! Dawn and staff are amazing. I drive 1 hr and 15 min to her just because I like them so much. She preformed acupuncture on my little girl a few times and it worked wonders! This time she effectively detected her issue at hand and sent us on our way and I never walk out paying a lot. Her acupuncture visits were only $45 each and today her visit, 2 meds, aspiration and Uti test were only $147. Can't recommend them enough!

She and her staff are some of the most compassionate, talented and professional people I have had the honor of seeking veterinary care from. Her prices are very reasonable and the quality of care is outstanding. I am willing to drive 50 min. to receive the care my dog and cat "kids" deserve. You can't go wrong with this gem of Polk county!
