Dr Stroup is the best vet I have ever done business with. My parents dog drowned this past Saturday. Kudos to Dr. Stroup for getting the right diagnosis of a rare condition at first glance! The quick diagnosis has helped to end up with a much better prognosis for one of my guys. This has been the best practice around for our basenjis. The exam rooms are huge with soothing music and DAP, so the more nervous basenjis are more relaxed. The staff is very friendly. Excellent veterinarian practice. My entire family brought our dogs here, and Dr. Stroup provided care for a couple of our dogs through middle age all the way to the peaceful end of their lives. She was my veterinarian until I had to relocate to another state for work. Reasonably priced, with a flexible schedule, helpful staff, extremely clean facility. My Scottish terrier had her spaying done here as a puppy, and Dr. Stroup stayed an hour late to monitor her just because she was still woozy from the anesthetic. A veterinarian that genuinely cares for her patients, is common sense and practical in her solutions for them, and is bilingual on top of it. Can't ask for much more.Read Less

Dr.Stroup is fantastic. I actually used to work here, so if anyone knows about this place it's me. Dr.Stroup is a phenomenal doctor and I really enjoyed working here for a year and a half. The cleanliness of this place is always top notch, I remember this VERY well because she makes sure the whole place is immaculate. I've really seen her go the extra mile for patients and work way past normal business hours to make sure she's there for patients. She really takes her time with pet owners to teach them more about their pets condition, options, and makes it easy to understand without using any veterinarian jargon that sounds like you'll be paying for something you don't even understand. She is very honest and so helpful, I can't think of any other vet I've come into contact with that is as nice as she is. Her motto is "where the quality of your pet comes first", and she absolutely means it. It was a great place to work, she was an awesome boss and an excellent vet, and my dog still goes to see her even though I no longer work here. I wouldn't take him anywhere else because I know how vets can be, trying to get you to buy their insurance packages and saying you have to get certain shots. (I'm referring to Banfield, to be honest. I really don't like that they're so corporate about their care.) Dr.Stroup gives personal attention to every patient, even when she's completely booked AND has four walk-in emergencies. She's also very well informed about specialists in the area, groomers, pet sitters, dog walkers, boarding kennels, and other veterinary hospitals and is happy to refer you to whatever you need. And after working in this area of business and dealing with several different veterinary hospitals (most of which in the county are great, don't get me wrong), I am convinced she's the best. I was refered to Cindy by a friend and i am so happy i was! When I brought Sara(Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier) to her for some trouble she was having, Cindy was able to get us in quickly. What impressed me most was how connected Cindy was with her patients. She is very compationate and cared for Sara like she was her own special pet. I also felt very comfortalbe in the office, it is set up just right with an inviting waiting area and great treatment rooms for our pets. The treatment beds even go up and down for safety. The staff is great and Cindy's husband helps too and is cool. Over all I loved the experience and have found my Vet for life. Read Less

I have two geriatric kitties with ongoing health issues. Andrew is 16 and Daisy is 14. They both are very reluctant to visit the vet even though during their lives that have each been to the vet many times. I started going to Dr. Stroup at the Animal Hospital of West Bay in Largo, Florida, after seeing an article about her in the St. Petersburg Times. I was impressed by the fact that she had opened her own business after working at others in the area for many years. I made the appointment and have been taking my kitties there ever since. I cannot tell you what a difference it makes to have a vet like Dr. Stroup who genuinely cares about the animals and practices the latest and greatest veterinary medicine!!!
