Very good experience.  Took our dog here yesterday and the staff was professional and considerate.  The doctor and technician spent an ample amount of time diagnosing Maddie's issues and offered to run some in-house tests.  Around 30 minutes later, Maddie's problems were diagnosed and they seem to have found a solution to correct her issues.  They administered meds on-site. I took our girl home and I am happy to report, she is doing much much better.  I felt their charges were reasonable for helping our dog.  Thank you Coastal Animal Clinic. Read Less

They are the best vet ever! We took our 15 year old dog to see Dr. Certa, wow... Super friendly and caring. We had taken her to another vet who barely looked at her, and wanted to run all these insane tests that with her condition could have killed her. Dr. Certa and the tech gave her a proper exam. Love this office! Both Doctors are fantastic. I took my pup there for her initial exam and after seeing how good they were decided to take my older dog in too. I was hesitant because she is extremely nervous going to the vet and can get aggressive. I always recommend they muzzle her prior to doing anything. Most places insist on trying without a muzzle initially and it never works. She is well behaved at home but stress makes her aggressive. The dr listened to me the first time I advised using a muzzle and he performed the exam without a problem. Our previous vet prescribed a sedative for vet visits which we gave her an hour prior to coming in but it did not take effect until we got home. After telling the vet we gave it to her beforehand but it had not taken effect yet he said we did not need to do so and that her reaction is normal. I appreciated that he was not afraid of her and was very calm about the situation. I also appreciate that they give printed estimates for the cost everything prior to performing any tests or treatments. Their prices are incredible as well. Dr. Serta killed my cat by giving him an overdose by needle causing his renal system to fail. He caused my cat to suffer in a way no pet owner would want to see. He died at blue pearl emergency hospital. An autopsy would have shown how he died. Fact is most pet owners do not get autopsy s I reported serta to Florida licensing board. We took our one year old cat to this vet for the first time yesterday. The office is clean, and the front desk staff is very nice. One of the techs spent some time with me answering some questions about their practice and their procedures, as we have another cat who is very aggressive when going to the vet, And we want to find a vet for all of our animals. They made me feel very comfortable knowing that they are comfortable dealing with difficult kitties. As for this cat, he needed some blood work and a basic exam. They were quick and gentle when working with him. We received a free exam for being new clients. The prices for all of the other tests are comparable to other vets we have visited over the years. Our only gripe is the exam room is a little small, however, I imagine we were in an exam room only used for cats, and there are bigger rooms for larger animals. Over all, a good experience. This is not the same clinic it used to be. I don't live near this clinic, but made the drive each time my dogs needed to be seen over the years. Since Dr. Molina is only available part-time, the quality of care has suffered. The higher charges and multiple recommendations are one thing, but the lack of expertise and professionalism by Dr. Certa is unacceptable! My dog had blood tests done and after receiving the results which were inconclusive, I received a call that I needed to bring him in for an exam and urinalysis which was quoted under $100 as I had already spent nearly $200 on the bloodwork (and I was informed by Dr. Certa that I should not listen to an assistant because they don't know what they're talking about). It's not the cost I'm upset about, it's the lack of attention and caring that was not received. When I showed up for my appt., I was asked why I was there, so I explained. When we were taken back to the room, I again was asked why I was there. No one seemed to know what I had been told on the phone. Then when I told the vet that my dog was snippy with me, he was not comfortable with him at all and appeared to be afraid he might bite him, even though I reassured him he had never bitten anyone at the clinic before or even attempted to. I have never seen a vet less comfortable with an animal before. Dr. Molina had always been extremely comfortable with him and all of his assistants too (the ones that had been there a long while and were very, very adept and helpful). My dog was even more responsive to them than to me!!! So after a "non-exam" as I call it, because there was no initial check of temperature, eyes, ears, skin, etc. only a quick feel of the abdomen and I was told because the dog was "tense" he couldn't really feel for what he needed to feel for. Long story short, after a long wait for the results (I could have dropped it off!) I told them that I was not paying for an exam my dog didn't receive, only the urinalysis. The vet came back in and we argued back and forth about what had transpired, with him being very rude, unprofessional, and threatening to refuse to tell me the results of the urinalysis stating that he legally didn't have to and began to walk out of the door. So I told him that I legally wasn't paying for a test that he was refusing to give me the results of. He was visibly shaking and out of control and admitted he was extremely upset. He then calmed down and did the exam that should have been done initially and explained the results of the urinalysis to me, recommending even more tests and an ultrasound to "rule out" the possibility of what may have been indicated. So it was a very upsetting and frustrating experience to say the least. I will give him credit for following through finally, but I am not returning to this vet ever! I will only return to Dr. Molina when he is available. I am used to dealing with professionals that know how to handle both pets and customers! I'm looking for a new vet closer to home. Not spending any more of my hard-earned money on this type of care! I will miss the office workers and assistants, but this vet is not anyone I care to have treating my dogs. Read Less

The staff at Coastal Animal Clinic is extremely friendly, caring and knowledgeable. They saved the life of my rescued Maltese by removing her extremely infected uterus and caring for her skin condition caused by an allergic reaction to multiple flea bites. I have returned twice without appointments with questions about her skin and/or medications. Both times I was greeted with a smile, never felt rushed and was not charged. I left feeling confident with the answers I received and my dog has improved greatly under their care. I plan on trying the grooming services soon now that her hair is growing back. Andes is a chill spot. My 75lb boxer and 5lb Chihuahua are both well taken care of. Between meds, and personal care, and all of it, they have always done a top notch job. Why didn't they get 5 stars? Aside from my Chihuahua's castration, they can be expensive as hell. I pay 2 times as much as if I went to a low cost vet or some other clinics. That is my only beef.. Keep on rockin' Read Less

Dr Certa is amazing! I took my boy in for a simple biopsy and after consideration, the tumor was removed as well. Of course, a sample is being sent for testing however; Dr. Certa assured me to wait for the results and take action from there. What really stunned me the most was the mindset of Dr. Certa. I am not medically inclined in any way-I'm a teacher and have always told students there are no stupid questions. Previously, I've had Vets who "rolled their eyes" over viable questions raised by me and my children. Dr. Certa took my questions seriously and answered with examples and reason. I do know that Vets require extensive learning for their profession (more than human doctors) yet, Dr. Certa is so personable-not haughty or pretentious. I felt extremely comfortable consulting him on every facet of my dog's aftercare. In fact, Dr. Certa was in touch with me several hours later when I had more questions and took time to teach and reassure me. Thank you Dr. Certa for this experience.
