Though the staff and vet were very nice, I was NOT pleased with their protocol. Took my 2 Shihtzus in for annual exams and vaccinations, first time at this place. After exam, the vet tech removed the dog from exam room and away from my presence to administer vaccinations and do blood draw. Both dogs yelped loudly, a couple of times, which has never happened at other vet visits. Never experienced this, and neither the dogs or myself wish to again. Read Less

Dr. Daniels is one of the most kind, caring, sweet, reasonable vets I've encountered. She talks to your pet and cuddles with them before doing and exam. She keeps your financial needs in mind and won't order a plethora of tests right away. If appropriate, she'll try a treatment for the most likely scenario and if it's not successful, she'll order tests as a next step. I appreciate that, as a former Banfield client where every exam involved a ton of tests, and as a former client of Tampa Veterinary Hospital, where I was preyed upon as a caring pet owner and ended up spending thousands of dollars needlessly. I really appreciate Largo Veterinary Hospital. The staff here is also wonderful, sweet, and genuinely loves animals. AllI came out for was an updated rabies shot but they were so helpful and capable, I got Buddy updated on his bordelo, had a physical exam, and even got that microchip I have needed for so long!The doctor had awesome bedside manners and put Buddy right at ease during his physical. Two shots, and Buddy never complained. This is far better than the experience I was used to. It felt like a regular clinic! My pet had all the care and consideration I would expect for myself :)I didn't know how the microchip program worked, the nurse showed me how to log in and register my dog's chip (and they tested it right there for me too.I liked the parking lot being separated from the main road. You don't have noisy traffic as you take your pet out.I called around quite a bit before I stopped here and I'm glad that I waited! They transferred my dogs file from Broward county before I even checked in (they will ask for your vet's phone number and call them!) that is devotion!Thanks for being great animal lovers Read Less

With recent experiences of multiple veterinarians throughout the Tampa Bay area, this is one that really tries to make you comfortable and focus on your pet and making your pet feel happy and healthy. My dog had a surgery here and the veterinarian calls you to give you updates and details about your pet. The next morning they called to see how she did through the night after surgery and had her come back in to get her bandage re-wrapped at no additional cost. The waiting room is never busy/packed with unruly animals and they don't let you wait very long before taking you into an exam room. Fair pricing as compared to other surgery centers in the area. We really like this place alot.  We moved to Dunedin last year and went to the Dunedin Vet on Main Street and after 2 visits decided that the drive down to Largo was well worth it.  They always accommodate any immediate needs (cut pad, etc.) and routine visits for checkups are a great experience for our dogs.  Also - the front desk people are great and work with us and our dogs (who are not very dog friendly) to make sure everything works out smoothly.  The staff couldn't be any more caring and our dogs respond to that.  We are thrilled to have them as our vet. Our Harley came to stay with them while we were on vacation. Now a little bit about Harley. He's a tri paw and he's got nerve damage. So he can't walk and has to be carried to go out. He has to have his bladder expressed and his poop picked up. So needless to say he is a special case. Our first vacation since Harley has been this way. Over a year. We completely had no worries while he was here. The staff completely loved him as their own. Mark and everyone else truly spoiled him and eased our concerns . Dr. Daniels is AWESOME!! I adopted a dog name Wally about 6 months ago that I truly love. When I take Wally in for his check ups or just to get medication the staff is always greeting you with a smile. Dr. Daniels really cares about her clients (pets). She treats all of them like they hers!! My dog (Wally) just had a procedure done and kept me updated on how he was doing. After everthing was done I thought it will cost alot but to my surprise it was less then I thought (awesome). I am so happy to have Largo Vet Hospital as my vet!! I brought my dog here for the first time and I can't tell you how great of an experience it was. The receptionists were friendly and helpful and got us in to see the doctor right at our appointment time. The doctor herself was so great with my pup. My dog is usually quite skiddish in vet offices but found herself very comfortable with the vet. She even got down onto the floor with my dog rather than forcing her up onto the exam table. She was so well informed and I couldn't be happier with the expertise she shared with us. She never tried to sell us on any products, just made sure our pup was good. There should be a way that EVERYONE would know that Dr. Dawn Daniels treats Kidney Disease for cats. We moved to Largo and did not know what to do to find a vet who understood how to treat our cat "Baby" for his kidney disease. We took a gamble and went to Largo Veterinary Hospital. The staff are amazing and caring. Baby took to everyone right away. Dr. Daniels not only KNEW what to do to care for Baby, but she KNEW MORE than our vet in Las Vegas. She is amazing. Stay clear.  There are many other wonderful, caring vets in the area.  This is not one of them.  Subpar care, unprofessional office staff, dismissive doctor and assistants.  Impossible to receive a response outside of normal business hours even with a sick animal.  Very disappointing. Dr. Daniels and the staff were great! My cat, Sage, who couldn't care less about people, took right to everyone there. I couldn't believe it was Sage. That was all the testimony I needed. I'd give this hospital more stars if it weren't for the sullen and generally unpleasant front desk staff.  Every request is met with resistance or thinly-veiled irritation.   Despite being in Florida, they seem to fail to understand that snowbirds have vets here and up North, and don't want to pay twice for the same services if something, blood work, for example, was performed in the other home location.
