Dr. Gonzalez is very knowledgeable and loves the animals he treats. I couldn’t be happier. That’s really all that matters to me. Their prices are reasonable. They’ve always been available if ever our doggo has had an emergency. Their PetPortal is awesome. They email as well as mail you reminders of when your pet is due for checkups or is due for vaccinations etc. I’m very happy taking my little best friend here. Dr. G is AMAZING! I'm not sure how to put into words why but I'll try... i was referred to him by.. lets say .. a birdie. When i had to go to a new doctor I was pretty freaked out as i was told previously my pup had bladder stones. I went to him for x-rays which in fact confirmed the stones. When i walked in, Carol came from behind the desk and got down low to meet and love on my pup. DR G was so gentle and made sure to show me everything and answer all my questions, never o...nce making me feel crazy ( which i am at times). I ended up making the decision that surgery was the best route for us. This was the smoothest process i have ever went through at a vets office. They all really care about you and your pet! From the moment i set the original appointment with Carol to the moment i checked out with Dianna after picking my pup up from surgery everyone was awesome! My dog absolutely LOVE the doctor. I've taken her here since she was a puppy and he is so good with her. He is one of those people who are SUPPOSED to be working with animals. He talks to them the same way you would talk to your own pet in a lovable voice. I've taken my dog to several other places for emergencies or days this vet wasn't open and my dog doesn't do well with first encounters, she has to warm up to you. EVERY other doctor has been on edge and almost annoyed that my dog is barking at them, she's in a confined space around a human she doesn't know. You'd think they know dogs behaviors and not act scared that a dog is barking at them. Highly recommend this vet specifically only for the doctor, not the tech. I've had some issues with her making rude comments almost judgemental as if I don't care for my dog properly. Other than her we love everything about this vet. Read Less

I had taken my dog to him twice before I had the below experience so beware of a nice facade and smiling face...they seem like a great place until you start asking questions! My mother recently got a puppy, so I took my dog in for boosters so they could be around each other. One of the vaccines I was asked to check on by her vet was the flu/influenza. When I talked to the doctor about this, h...e totally dismissed me and said there was no reason to be concerned. I pulled out my phone and showed him the American Veterinary Medical Association website and various articles that show that it is a concern (in FL!) and highly contagious and he literally laughed. HE LAUGHED!!!! Apparently, they don't do "unnecessary" vaccines...yet every other vet's office I've called since has started carrying this vaccine and when I discussed what happened with this vet, they were appalled. In addition to all the above...this was my dog's exam. He looked at his teeth, touched his stomach, moved some of his fur aside and looked at his skin and said he was good to go. They asked me to bring in a poop sample, which I was unable to do, and instead of doing the fecal exam then, gave me a tube so I could "drop it off later". I think it's great if they don't have to stick something in them, but I've never had a visit where they don't actually do any tests! Now, admittedly, I'm mostly ignorant about what a vet should or shouldn't do. But imagine going to your doctor, asking them about something you're concerned about and having them laugh at you. Wouldn't you be concerned about the doctor's ethics and education? I'll add my two cents to the growing number of patients who are raving about this place.  I took my cat here for the first time this morning.  The office is incredibly clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming.  After filling out the obligatory paper work (one page, which is plenty.  Anything more than that is just the doctor trying to sell you something) I was taken to the exam room.  In a few minutes, Dr. Rick came in and introduced himself.He did the examination and then they took Merlin back for blood work.  He brought him back to me in a few minutes, without any problems at all.  I was back home in plenty of time to get my weekend work done and Merlin has a new doctor.All-in-all, a very positive experience. Dr. Rick is amazing.  He is so laid back and really invests the time to get to know his 4 legged patients.  He is caring and extremely affordable compared to a number of big hospitals in Broward County. he also has late appointments during the week and you can usually call for emergencies and get in the same day :) I cant say enough great things about his office. This is the best Vet around ! Last year I had to put down my cat because of liver disease and this place did not try to sell me "crap" and have me do expensive test that where going to lead to nowhere. They told me the honest truth and made me feel very comfortable through the whole process. I've been going to Dr. Gonzalez for over 6 years now. I have three dogs and one of them, my mini schnauzer, is especially needy so I see Dr. G every month. I would consider myself a pretty over protective pet parent and my kids are my dogs so going to a vet that you trust completely with your girls is the best feeling. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE Dr. Gonzalez and everyone at Best Friends Animal Hospital including Carol and Diana. I started going here about a year ago after my old vet turned into a money loving slug. I cannot say enough good things about Best Friends and the entire staff. From the moment you walk in and you are greeted with a true smile by everyone, they call you and your pets by name, and spend as much time as you need to make sure that all your questions and concerns are addressed. They are very gentle and caring towards your pets and dont try to force unnecessary treatments and products down your throat. I cannot recommend them strongly enough.
