I took my cat in they immediately took him to the back, we waited in our car for about 2 hours before a room was ready. I was told I couldn't see him till after testing, I was given a quote on blood work and x-rays ($675) when I questioned the amount and if we could try only one test I was told if you can't afford to get tests how can you afford treatment, then the vet came in claimed he had been in the incubator since he was taken to the back , they had used a catheter on him he had improved but basically said that there was no hope but I could leave him there for a few days to try but I would be looking at at least $7,000 "but he was not a show cat only those cats should seek treatment." Still hadn't been allowed to see him yet. They finally brought him in his ears were ice cold his tongue was sticking out and blue, he was heartbreaking then we noticed he had a huge knot by his bladder (so never catheterized, no incubator) his condition deteriorated 100% since I had brought him in, I wouldn't have agreed to the tests if I knew he was that bad off. Someone came in to get him so he could cauterize him and took him. Then they tried to pressure me into spending an additional 3-500 on a urn that if I didn't he would be returned in a "Ziploc bag" . I feel like I was lied to, pressured into signing for what turned out to be almost $1000 and still had to put my baby down. They were only interested in how much money they could take from me. She looked down on me treated us the situation horribly. Truth be told if she could have guaranteed my she could have saved him I would have paid what ever I needed to. I also overheard them telling the same things to another person. I don't recommend at all unless you want the same horrific things to happen to you that did us and many others. I'm completely disgusted with this vet, staff and situation. Read Less

It was with deep sadness when my wife and I rushed our 9-year-old yellow lab to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Central Florida. Bear-Bear died on the way. He was suffering from a cancerous tumor. So sad. The on-duty vet and assistant exhibited empathy and compassion after examining Bear-Bear, taking the time to explain what happened. Cost? Zero. Thank you. Death is so final. We brought our sweet baby to be euthanized. She had been diagnosed with cancer by another veterinarian that morning and rapidly declined. It was devastating. We were told by the other vet that she could live for up to 2 years... "you just never know with cancer." We brought her to Dr. Roberts and she took a look at X-rays and explained that our baby was too old at 16 for any radical treatment and that even the oxygen tank was not helping. She was honest with us and so incredibly sympathetic to our pain. She helped us come to terms and made the process as painless as possible for our family. I did not expect to have such a great experience at an emergency vet facility. When we called them regarding our dog they were extremely helpful over the phone getting us answers we needed to ease our concern. They were also very forthcoming with costs we may incur if we chose to bring our dog in vs waiting to take him to his regular vet in the morning. We decided to take him in that night so we didn't have to worry until the next morning. When we arrived, we immediately noticed the clinic was extremely clean! We were greeted and immediately taken back and put in a room. As we filled out the paperwork one of the techs took our dog back to talk a closer look at his toenail (which was twisted upside down and bleeding). She said we could wait for the vet, or a tech could take care of it, it was up to us. We told her we didn't care one way or the other...if the tech was comfortable and able to take care of him that was fine, but if she thought we needed to wait for the vet, that was fine too. The tech took care of him (clipped the toenail off and stopped the bleeding) and he is doing great. AND THEY DIDN'T CHARGE US A DIME!!! We were shocked!!!! If you have ever need an emergency vet, this is the place to go! Kind, honest and caring people!!!!! THANK YOU FOR TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF RICK!!!! Read Less

Only cared about money. My dog had a hip dislocation, and the surgery cost 600 dollars. They were unsuccesful so it was pointless. 2 vets contradicted themselves. One promised it was urgdnt pressuring us to pay the money immediately. Shifts changed at 8, and then 2nd vet after failing the surgery said it was not immediate it could even be put off a week while my dog is suffering. Kept pushing to amputate, which my father refused although i was for it so my dog could be saved. He could not bare seeing our puppy in anymore suffering and refused to get the amputation. Now my dog of 10 years that i grew up with will most likely be put down. At the end they were saying we owed 131 more dollars after 600 we paid earlier was supposed to cover the surgery, medication, and sedation. No sympathy towards my dog or family. No money no dog they said. They were going to send my dog which is my family member to me to the humane society. I was enraged at this point and had to leave before i became violent towards the piss poor staff and receptionist who might have some oral skills but not communication or telephone related. I have taken our handicapped cat to this clinic twice and both times these people were wonderful. The 1st time they literally saved his life and the second time they took care of the problem and sent him home with me with antibiotics and pain med for a bladder infection. Yes, it's a little pricey, but it's like an ER. You go in expecting to have to pay more for emergency care. And I would've been glad to pay whatever was needed to ensure the care and comfort of my loved pet was accomplished. If you need emergency care for a pet, I wouldn't hesitate to go back. I don't have an exact complaint for the emergency vet location in Casselberry, but certainly for the one in downtown and the people (third party; board members) who administer all locations. On Dec 24, our cocker spaniel was bleeding. We were not sure what was wrong with her, so at 10:30 pm my husband, sister and daughter rushed her to the emergency vet in the downtown area because the Casselberry office was very busy that night. After charging my husband $400+ on visit and LOTS of different medicines, our Lola was sent home with a urinary tract infection. On Dec 26, sadly we had to put her down. When she woke up that morning yelping in pain and not being able to stand much less walk, we knew something was terribly wrong. The vet at the Casselberry office diagnosed her with renal failure. We paid an additional $295. In two days TWO different diagnosis. I spoke to the head vet, who in return investigated the matter. Dr. Martin felt something was not right and stated he would take my case to the board end of March, and asked that I call him back with the findings. I've called on FOUR separate occasions. He seems to never be in the office, and never returns my calls, even though I leave detailed messages. Yesterday when I called, the receptionist was extremely rude and even hung up on me. I am now considering taking this matter higher up. The lack of courtesy, professionalism and care is frustrating. Very, very disappointed.Read Less

I would give them zero stars if possible. They are cold and have no compassion. Only care about money. I took my dog in there when he was hit by a car and they didn't do anything for him other than take x-rays that he didn't need (he didn't have any broken bones, I was worried about internal bleeding) give him pain meds (which they didn't give him enough to even make it through the weekend and refused to give him any more) and tell me to call my regular vet. Never, ever take your pet here. There are much better emergency vet hospitals in Orlando and it's worth the drive (I've used the one in Casselberry and the one in Oviedo several times, with excellent results over the years). Well I am over 3 hours on my visit. I brought my kitten in because it had a cut on its leg and it was dragging it. We thought it maybe broken and looked bad. When we got here the situation was explained and that it just happened and the cat had just gone outside 4 hours before we got to the vet. We thought maybe it was a snare or a trap somehow that it got caught on. Well after 2 hours of our kitten being in the back and we are waiting the whole time. They came in and told us that they were fixing to look at trying to stitch it back up and xray its foot to see if it is broken. We finally got a look at the cost of the bill which was going to be 960 for an xray and some bandaging on the kitten. This was no splint or anything more. We declined the service only for my mom to later hear one of the ladies working there make a statement that she thinks we were lying about what happened. This place is very unprofessional I dont have to lie to someone on the 4th of july to pay double the price to make sure my cat is okay if I could wait till the next day and take him to my vet that knows what they are doing. We have been here going on 3 hours and officially had the worst service I have ever had and have not seen what the bill is still going to be for nothing done. Read Less

I took my dog to this place after a little child had stepped on my dog's back. My dog is a service dog and was 4 years old. When I took my dog to this clinic, she was dragging her back legs in pain. The clinic gave me pain pills with a hefty bill to boot. I brought my dog home and gave her the pills for two days. After that second day, my dog began to bleed rectally. I immediately took her back to the clinic and they wanted to put her down. I cried and began to call my family for advice. My family advised against the clinic's advice and I brought my dog home. 1 week later, my dog was running around and playing as usual. Now this place told me that there was no hope for my dog. They had previously put down two other pets before I took my dog in the second time. They just want to kill our animals and not do their jobs! Then they had the nerve to want me to pay them! Although they were quite busy the Sunday morning I had to bring him in for emergency care, my 1 year old Maine Coon cat was never-the-less provided with prompt and courteous attention. I found him earlier that morning at home dripping small beads of diluted blood and crying out periodically in pain especially when I tried to touch him. Once in their hands, their medical team started their diagnosed and quickly determined the cause of his problem as being a blocked urinary tract. His treatment began immanently beginning with pain killers and relieving his, by then, bloated bladder. I had to leave him there overnight but felt confident that he was in the best of hands. Although I had to bring him to my regular vet the following morning for followup treatment, for all intensive purposes, I could tell that he was well on his way towards a complete and successful recovery when we left. Both their admin and medical staff were top notch and the documentation I received couldn't be more thorough.

After performing heroic measures to save him, he made a miraculous recovery and will be with us a bit longer.
